As a Catholic, it makes me very sad how this Catholic hospitalā€™s department for abdominal issues has treated my sister and other patients. Most of the nurses are neglectful. They malpractice, ā€œblowing upā€ veins by inserting IVs incorrectly. And giving patients bubbles in their arms? That can cause an aneurysm or a stroke. Donā€™t go to this hospital for any kind of emergency health matter. In fact, you probably shouldnā€™t go here for much of anything. It is not worth it. About half of this hospital looks abandoned. We were buzzing the intercom at 3 different entrances, and no one answered or even walked by inside at all. This place is scary. I kept getting a bad feeling walking through. Head north and go to UM: St. Josephā€™s instead. They give much better care there. I hope a lot of patients here arenā€™t dying from malpractice. Please have a lot more compassion and give your patients much better care. Please donā€™t be apathetic, and please make good choices. Also, please ensure that the security guards are answering the entry intercoms.

This hospital is very neglectful and non informative. The staff is very uncaring and unknowledgeable, It is sad for a hospital. My family member is there and when they get out, I will Surely make sure they don't have to return there. The staff seems they are only there to get paid, where is the Icare attitude in this environment. How would they want their loved ones treated . down to the transporters as well, who took my loved one for testing and took her back to her room and left her unattended in a dark room. Unacceptable.

If I could give NO STARS I would! This is the worse hospital in Baltimore history! Iā€™d rather die or be seen at Bon Secour Hospital before I ever go back there again. I went there yesterday at 4:22 pm, fast forward 5 hrs later I was still sitting in the waiting room and hadnā€™t been approached or anything not one time until I re approached the window/staff! I suffer from chronic back pain and was in another car accident on 11/10 so you could imagine the pain Iā€™m in! My legs are weak, numb , and constantly almost giving out on me! I was told by my pain management to be seen at an ER right away because I may need emergency surgery. My Dr. called the ER to prepare them of my story and everything prior to my visit. If something happens to me Good Samaritan will and still will hear from my lawyers regarding their neglect! I was told I was in a life or death situation by my pain management dr and these staff members definitely thought other wise! After suffering there for 5 hours with no medication, no proper attention or adequate care I left! I could not stand sitting there any longer in that hard seat suffering from back pain! There were a plethora of patients who came in well after me that were called back and seen before I was. This hospital needs to be shut down immediately it has no business even still being open! The staff members are rude, lack empathy, and respect for patients as if we are not human. I am currently writing letters to the Mayor, Senator, my insurance companies (health & car), the department of health, your patients advocate and the list goes on. Also if it comes down to protesting outside the Emergency Room I will do just that once I am back to at least decent health. I cried myself to sleep last night after the way I was treated in there and my voice will be heard by all higher ups and the news station. You all have neglected the wrong patient. On duty last night on 11/12/21 was Charge Nurse: Gigi, RN Triage Nurse: Julie, RN & Dr. Jordan.

Had a Tell a visit at 9:00am I called at 9:15am to find out when dr will be calling because my appointment was at 9:00am was told Doctor will call. Now it is 9:40am still no call from Doctor. I was at work and could not wait any longer. I just bet if I did that at a in person visit I would have to reschedule. And I waited for months for this appointment. Going to another Doctor!

Very bad experience with this hospital ICU staff. Dad was walking but couldnā€™t breath very well due to pneumonia (tested negative for COVID). From his doctors who ignored us, to his therapists who shook his body on a machine ā€œto shake things around,ā€ ( told my brother and I that she wished she had the machine that she strapped my dad to right in front of us at home for a massageā€”totally nuts). Dadā€™s case was only suppose to be a regular hospital case, not an ICI case from the beginning. Supposedly there were no beds in the main hospital so they kept him in the ICU care. It was a horrifying experience over the 4 days, from the time my dad entered Good Samaritan Hospital on a Friday night in Baltimore until he died in this hospital very early Wednesday morning. They shocked his frail 96 year old body to no return. Gave him tests that were not meaningful and unnecessarily disturbed his body and peace of mind. They should have done things conservatively and did only what was needed. So sad and shocking, and something that will always haunt me. All had a total disregard for my dad and for us. Even his nurse at the very beginning told us that he would be home so long as he could breathe on his own at 9 liters of oxygen. She disappeared or was removed from the ICU after 2 days with my dad. Not sure what happened to her. My recommendation would be to consider other hospitals before you or your elderly consider this hospital if your conscious to make this decision.

Went to MedStar for outpatient physical therapy services to treat my frozen shoulder and had a wonderful experience with knowledgeable and caring therapists who were invested in my recovery. Dry needling was by far the most effective treatment. I am so grateful that I found them as I had gone somewhere else initially and thought I would need surgery. 10/10 recommend!

So upset right now. My dad is in the hospital and no one can get in touch with him. The nurses act like they are soooo busy that they can not update my family on his progress. This experience is horrible. He was not very ill when he went inside and we did not want to take him because we were afraid something like this would happen. I just wish they would treat people like they were their own family. They would want the same if the shoe was on the other foot. And we feel like we have no fight in this situation. 6 months later He never came home. He passed in the hospital. The nurses wouldnā€™t even let me and my brother (on his birthday) see him before he passed. I asked the nurse so when is the next time you expect me to see my dad? In the morgue? And she went on to tell me about her kids at home and how she worried about taking COVID home to her family. I said I donā€™t want to hear about that Iā€™m here now and I want to see my dad. Didnā€™t let me. I hate driving past this hospital because I have nothing but bad memories. And I hope somebody calls me back about my review. And Iā€™m going to screen shot this because you changed my last review.

Iā€™ve been in the ER for 4+ hours and have been the most friendliest person that I can possibly be with my child in severe pain. I politely have been to the window 2x when my son was sweating and saying he wasnā€™t gonna survive and was told by a female that he was number 2 to be seen. Iā€™ve asked for someone that was over top of her she ask me like who? I then started a charge nurse and she said we donā€™t have those we have a ā€œNursing Supervisorā€. This girl has the right one on the wrong day. Mikaylah itā€™s ok to have a bad day but in your place of employment that wouldnā€™t be a great choice. Her then ā€œNursing Supervisorā€ came down to talk to me and though she couldnā€™t tell me much she did tell me enough. Mikaylah does in fact have a ā€œCharge Nurseā€ but I promise this wonā€™t be the last she hears about not allowing your work to get to you enough that you become ā€œOut of Characterā€ especially when you have a job to do.

My experience at Good Samaritan Hospital was Not Good. Waited over an hour after Midnite in Emergency to locate a room for a doctor to see me. I was one of three people in Emergency room waiting. Upon putting me in a room they moved me to another. While staff waited for a hospital room they tried to take blood samples. After three attempts with two different Emergency room Nurses they was unable to draw blood. They found a room for me upstairs. While nurse was admitting me she attempted to take blood samples. She too was unable to draw blood. At 2AM they sent in a expert in blood draws with a machine to locate a vein. Nurse attempted twice with no blood. I have Never had this much difficulty in getting my blood drawn. I had Five punctures in my arm with no success and was bandaged. I was worried after seeing the blood draw expert with her machine that Good Samaritan staff were Incompetent. At 3AM a phlebotomist (blood Expert) was able to my draw blood on her First attempt. There were other issues with medications that I won't go into. I had a bad feeling from the Beginning about being admitted to Good Samaritan. On retrospect and upon reading these reviews my instincts were correct. Never, again. There are Excellent hospitals in Baltimore. Not this one.

Absolute worst ER in town, worst I've ever been to period (and as someone with multiple health issues, I have been in ERs a lot). Went there twice for vomiting. The first time they dismissed it as a stomach bug. 2 weeks later, still vomiting, I went back. The PA who saw me suggested maybe I was throwing up from smoking too much pot! (I had not smoked any pot, actually!) Such an insulting and dehumanizing experience, and not the first bad experience I've had there, either. Once I went in with kidney stones, they told me I didn't have any kidney stones, gave me nothing for pain, and sent me home... where I almost immediately passed 2 kidney stones. Anyway, go to basically any other hospital ER if you have a choice! (This review does not encompass the whole hospital; I had my gallbladder out and the surgeon and crew were great)

My mother was taken to Good Sam by ambulance when she was having difficulty breathing. Our experience in both the ER and in the hospital after she was admitted was excellent. We spent 8 hours in the ER due to a lack of rooms, but the care was incredible, everyone very kind, and the rooms and food excellent. I was particularly impressed with the pulmonary rehabilitation team who were so kind and thoughtful. One member even came to check on my mom the next morning after she was admitted. Overall, I was very impressed.

I have two of the best Dr's at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr Padgett is very passionate about all of his Cancer patients and Dr Jaleh is one of the sweetest women I've ever met. They do everything in their power to help me and I appreciate them so much.

I have Lymphedema. I have been treated by Dave Federline at Good Samaritan for several months. I was diagnosed at the Mayo Clinic, and they developed a treatment plan that required an at home therapist to work with me, following their general model. Dave agreed to do it, even though it was unlike his usual model of treatment. I cannot say enough good things about him.. He was flexible, collaborative, respectful, and highly competent!. Lymphedema is of course incurable. However, with Daveā€™s help, mine is sufficiently controlled, it has almost no impact on my quality of life. I am deeply grateful, and would recommend him to anyone!!!

I have a malignant pelvic mass leaning on my bone on my right side so I'm in excruciating pain. I've been in the ER for 5 hours in pain. No pain management offered due to lack of rooms available. I've watched several people leave. I asked to lay down because of the pain on my right side and no assistance was available. We have to do better. I understand things happen but you have to communicate at all times.

I just want to say thereā€™s no reason a patient should arrive at 3pm and here it is almost 10pm and still hasnā€™t been properly seen for their problems. Lab work took place around 4pm and havenā€™t heard anything since. Just imagine if I leave and something actually happens to me because of my injury. Do Better!

As I write this, I'm going on my 6th hour of sitting in the waiting room waiting to be seen. Came in for what I believe is likely pneumonia and expressed the trouble I was having breathing. Was immediately given an EKG then told to wait in the waiting room. Called up an hour later and did a urinalysis, bloodwork, and a chest xray, and was sent back to the waiting room again. I arrived at 5 PM and it is now close to 10:30 PM. Have asked multiple times about how much longer but can not be given any kind of ETA. I understand being short staffed and normally try to be patient, but this is ridiculous. With how long they have been around, they should know their limits and be able to determine when to turn patients away if they don't have the staff to handle them. The waiting room was not that packed when I got here, but had I known it would take this long I would've immediately left and went to GBMC or any other hospital rather than having to sit this long just to talk to a single doctor. I truly hope they get it together over the next few years; after tonight I could not rank this hospital to anyone. Would rank 0 stars if I could.

Horrible experience. Grandmother admitted here on numerous occasions and each time the communication from the doctors and other staff left much to be desired. So much that I spent a great amount time advocating transfer to another medical institution where medical staff have proven they are able to communicate effectively and work as a team (Staff dishonest about transfer procedure-beware). Because doctors do not communicate well with one another, their ability to communicate effectively with patients and families suffers. I consistently received health developments in a happenstance manner days after they were discovered, which prevented medical staff from offering a full comprehensive assessments and updates in real time. More than a few of the nurses were rude and nasty and did not seem to have the capability to answer basic medical concerns in a fashion easy for folk with limited knowledge to understand. If you cannot explain in simple terms, then typically you do not understand the topic/situation well enough. Stay away unless this place undergoes a serious cultural revolution, which will take years of reflection and serious commitment from cafeteria worker to top administrators.

I came in with stroke and/ or Heart attack Symptoms It took me over an hour to get triage I was met by an very Racist and bias (TN) name Julie Who also serves as the (CN )on some nights. She has major control issues. she was upset that my family called the active CN that Re insured will have a room in 20 minutes she( Nurse Julie) then dropped my name from the patient who will be going immediately into the room Things went well for a couple of hours until I was faced with a unfortunate Team of staff members(Am staff) that was Extremely bias To great lengths I can go into a lot of details but I will say that for the complaint I will be issuing to Maryland commissions board. Sad to mention I was patient Dumped This place Serves a high risk for fatal outcomes, for a partickler race and ethnical background group of people. It's very sad and unfortune All while under the name of an "Catholic " rooted background to serve the people. they honestly deserve a negative -3. I had a great experience Iā€™m sorry for everyoneā€™s elseā€™s bad ones but it doesnā€™t seem like there talking about the same hospital. Everyone was so nice my meds were on time. Whenever a nurse would come to my room they always had fresh ice water for me. The food was great. My surgery went great. My surgeon Dr. Hung was fantastic after one week you couldnā€™t even see the scar and I had a quarter of my leg cut off. So for me I give them 5 ***** stars.

Iā€™ve seen flight attendants Take care of people better than the nurses at this hospital. If you have a loved one that has a serious medical issue do not bring them to this hospital.

I went into a he hospital emergency room at 2:30 this morning. I sat there for over 3 hours without being seen. No one bothered to inform me of a delay. I saw people coming in after me and being taken to the back before me. I got fed up and I left. I would expect better from a hospital of this so called calibur. I just hope that the next time I need to go the hospital Iā€™d rather do it at home where I can have someone tell me that thereā€™s ging to be a long delay. This is ridiculous.

GSH outpatient pharmacy is the worst. Lets start off with their customer service. It's almost non-existent. The pharmacy techs are horrible. From them answering the phones with an attitude to them having attitudes when you pick up your prescriptions. They could at least smile. Next lets talk about the lack of communication. If you don't have a medication in stock why not reach out to the patient and let them know instead of them coming to the pharmacy being told. This has happen to me several times. My doctor has sent a prescription and the next day I go to pick it up and the pharmacy does not have it. So I have wasted a trip when they could have called me to say they don't have it. Now I have to try and find a pharmacy that has the medication. The manager Sam needs to do better with his staff. They need to be more proactive with the patient care aspect. We are sick people and a simple phone call to say we don't have the medication will suffice. Last but not least, please stress the importance of good customer service.

Currently sitting waiting to be seen for an allergic reaction I had to seafood. My chest feels tight and I have been sitting here for almost 3 hours now. I was given some Benadryl which has somewhat helped my symptoms. I want to leave but I donā€™t want to leave with my issue being halfway addressed. There really seems to be no urgency and nonchalantness amongst the staff. This will be my first and last time coming here.

Zero stars! Excuse me for assuming that a 72 year old man would not have to sit in the ER for 3 hours with chest pains and sob. Not being monitored, forgotten about. No wonder this place has less than two stars. Itā€™s been another 3 hours and my dad is just getting a room, still not being monitored. No ekgā€¦ nothing!

I love Good Samaritan Hospital. I went in the Emergency department and was in a room within 2 hours. I had A DVT in my right leg which traveled to my lung, they started to quickly work at getting my blood to thin out, and they took good care of me. I recommend this hospital to everyone

I brought my daughter there after falling off her scooter. Her whole face was scared and she got stitches. They said they are sending her prescription to her pharmacy. They never did! Had hey mother at the pharmacy looking stupid. When I called so they can fix it, they said they can't do anything and to buy it myself!?! They LIED and told me that the discharge papers said I should buy medication. When I asked what page, she hung up the phone on me! Replace the entire staff! Terrible hospital with NO CONCERN for their patients. Sorry excuse for a medical operation. I'll be filing a complaint to the Department of Public Health as well as to the Joint Commission. You can't treat people this way and think you'll get away with it.

Currently admitted and just needed to take the time to write this review because I am thoroughly impressed with my care. I got brought in my paramedics and was brought to a room where Nurse Julie and her nursing assistant were just so kind to me. They laughed with me, joked with me, felt my pain with me, and helped me so much. She listened and cared and made me feel valued. The doctor (canā€™t remember her name) was constantly in communication with me about what my needs and wants were and thatā€™s all I could ask for at such a vulnerable and scary time. I did, however come across very rude employee getting my cat scan done. She rushed me through my scan, made me feel unimportant as she ā€œhad other patients to get toā€ when she became visibly mad and impatient when I was trying to take my time from the hospital bed to the cat scan table. She made me cry and feel very much like a burden (I turned out to have a 1.5L internal bleed. Her assistant, however, was the biggest gem. She held my hand, rubbed my back, told me stories to take my mind off the pain, and made me feel important. I wish I remembered her name but she was a star. I got admitting into PACU after having emergency surgery and the physician was well spoken and kept my upmost dignity and respect in her mind. She was so kind and made me feel at ease through all these hard decisions along with the anesthesiologist. I was very impressed and felt in such good hands. My night shift nurse, Tiffany, was also so kind to my family and I. She advocated to her higher ups for me about my pain medication, she took the time to talk to me and figure out my needs, and was so respectful to not wake me up when it wasnā€™t needed and informed and educated me in all medicine and treatments she was doing. She was in constant check for me which is all I could ask for. While my visit isnā€™t done, so far Iā€™ve had a very good time (as much as one could have in the hospital) and am impressed with my level of care on all levels minus a few bumps. How people could ever get into patient care with that womenā€™s attitude is beyond me.

This place is a total waste of space! The staff is rude as hell! I work close so I went to their cafeteria for a quick lunch. My lunch was over by the time that I was even acknowledged. There was 1 person on the grill side, no one one the entree side. The person on the grill didn't call anyone over to help and most of the kitchen staff was sitting in front of the TV gossiping. There were employees also in line complaining that their lunch was over and most left, as did I. I will NEVER go there again. I've tried to eat there twice and it was the same thing both times! If I'm sick, take me anyplace but Good Samaritan!

The absolute worst experience in my life. Im engaged with all of my phycians and make it a priority to stay informed about my health. My previous doctor had passed away and by default I began seeing another doctor in the same office. My interacts with doctor weren't bad, but they were ackward to say the least. She would beco.e frustrated whenever I would ask questions. Durimg a visit on 1/5/24 I was asking about my lab results ( why werent a specific set of test done) turned into an argument. As a medical professional, if your concerned about the kidney function and diabetes ... why wouldnt your order lab order include BUN, eGFR, hbA1c... moreover why wasnt a complete blood panel ordered? (We were in the examining room) The doctor became frustrated and pointed in the direction of the receptionist desk and stated "i dont understand whats going on - there's a cultural difference going on here or something" (very awkward moment) ... I am African American, the receptionists' are African American ... this doctor is of Indian descent. I asked "what does that mean, what/where is the cultural difference in my asking about my personal lab results" There was definative response. She stated that eveything was ordered on my last lab order, but i didnt get them done. (not true - i pulled the results up on my phone) The back and forth continued. This doctor also stated that i had missed several appointments and again mentioned that i hadnt completed previously lab orders... she continued to argue with me even after logging into my account and showing her the previous lab results that DID NOT include the complete blood panel. I also reminded her that my previous appoinment was scheduled as a TeleHealth visit, but I never received a call from her - i called the office and was told that I needed to reschedule. I rescheduled and the same mix-up happened again ...which in turn lead my to the in-office visit on 1/5. I ended the visit and wont be returning. I've left a message with the department manager/director to discuss this experience - and completed the online service survey. No response!!

I came to Good Samaritan today I was not feeling well.I arrived at approximately 11:00PM and the time is 4:00AM. I still have not been seen by a doctor. This is totally unacceptable. The Service here is extremely poor and substandard.I asked the Nurse Chase and the Register Kimberly how many people are waiting in front of me? How much longer will it be before I am seen by a doctor? They both stated they did not know. If you are sick do not come here. The staff is rude and incompetent. The staff here would rather let you die then to help a sick person.

Yesterday Franklin Square had us waiting over 9hrs and never got seen! We have been here for 15min and my husband has already been checked in and waiting for triage. So far this staff has been more professional and compassionate than Franklin Square, a shame it's so far. But you drive for the better care. Thank you Good Samaritan!

Had same day surgery for appendicitis. Nurses and doctors are great. Thanks for saving my life

Doctors, surgeon, and nursing staff have been great for my relativeā€™s inpatient stay! 5 stars for care. 3 stars for this: Front door security consistently never wears masks and have been nasty to visitors due to their lack of knowledge. Often they have acted annoyed to do their job. I have visited everyday for 10 days, this has been an everyday occurrence. Woman running gift shop was nasty when I asked why the door was locked when hours were listed open until 7PM. It was 5:15PM. She came up to the window, flipped a sign that said closing at 5:30, and then yelled at my mother about closing at 5PM. There is no reason to yell at anyone. Unprofessional. The female employee on shift on 1/19/23 @ 5:15PM should be looked into. I would be fired had I treated a customer like that. Gift shop is never open. Why have one, just close it.

Last night my child was disrespected by the triage nurse Julie. Instead of her calling my child by her name she called my daughter by a nickname for her injury. Her comment was extremely insensitive and very unprofessional. My daughter had a hook puncture wound to her hand and was in excruciating pain. For her to say that to our faces, really explains her character and how she truly doesnā€™t care about the patients she encounters.

Family, I need your help. I thought long before doing this. Please help me get the word out regarding my care at this hospital. With the exception of the ICU staff and most of the Respitory Care Team, my stay here has been most challenging. I am starting to report on my experience and want to have this publicly documented with you all. Please feel free to contact hospital administrartion on my behalf. Details are below: _______ Absolutely horrible experience. (Good Samaritan) I am currently leaving this review from my hospital bed in 311. Admitted for respiratory issues, had problems with staff beginning in the ER. Staff in ER is asking for sensitive patient information in the middle of the waiting room, going from patient to patient with a mobile cart!!!! Had to beg to be seen before being moved. Moved to two different floors with inattentive and RUDE nurses and techs. Had to vomit and the staff acted if I caused them a major inconvenience. Eventually moved to ICU where ironically, I received the best care and attention. Kudos to that staff which appears to be the only highlight of this terror hospital. Now moved to 311 and nurse and respiratory therapist have been rude (like on other floors) and when speaking with Charge Nurse (Terry)to address issues, blown off and gaslighted to believe that my issues are minuscule at best. I need to speak directly (not fill out a form) with hospital administration, ASAP!!

TRASH! Some of the ER staff are unprofessional and loud. There is a nurse that tried to justify why she didn't use gloves when trying to start an IV or draw blood. She said she washes her hands a lot. Who says/does that???? Miss you have multiple patients. That is crazy. Never coming here again

Excellent Emergency Room. Dr Jordan tops. Nursing staff in ER excellent. There were constant challenges with Security who let you in to hospital. Security woman to ER was rude and disrespectful. Unpleasant. However, medical care is excellent.

I see my primary care doctor here, Dr. David Weisman, and he's been fantastic helping me deal with a multi system disorder I have. But I was prompted to write this review because on my recent ER trip for dehydration symptoms (never fun) all of the staff, from intake to technician to attending doctor to nurses, were fantastic. You hope to receive that kind of care when sick. Really appreciate it.

Been waiting here for 5+ hours because of a car accident.....still waiting. ER Nurses at triage give general answers just to get you out of their face. It's the next day and I'm still in the ER waiting room.

I appreciate the way I was treated here today. I want to give a special shout out to PA Kelly, knowledgeable, caring and straight forward. She invest time in you. Bless you! You rock, and so does everyone from check in to leaving.

I had to go to the emergency room 2 days ago I had to call 911 the firefighters showed up first and they were amazing and took care of me then the ambulance showed up and they took wonderful care of me. When I got to the hospital I didn't have to wait they put me in a room right away. The doctor who took care of me was an amazing man who wants above and beyond for me to make sure that I was okay and I wanted to thank him kyle j Marrone MD Can oostendoro PA-C. They treated me so well and showed me so much compassion. I mean they took such good care of me and made sure everything was okay with me because I have arthritis in scoliosis and I had fallen down my stairs. When I was ready to get discharged the doctor asked me if I had a way home I told him yes I have my debit card on me he said no no let me get you a taxi voucher I could not believe that he did something like that for me even though I had my debit card on me. He is an amazing emergency room doctor who makes people feel like they're human beings and that they matter. Thank you so much again Dr Kyle for what you did for me.

Good communication. Doctor took time to explain things. However they declined to put in a feeding tube to save the life of our elderly relative and we needed to transfer her to another hospital to have this procedure done. Update: It is now two months later and she is doing well with the feeding tube which she received in the other hospital. The first week she even gained weight.

I have two of the best doctors (Drs. Martin and Deol), very caring and knowledgeable in their respective fields. The only thing I donā€™t like is the wait time. I have sometimes been stuck in the waiting room for almost an hour and I have missed my rides because I get to be seen at my return pickup from the hospital. Efficiency in this area is very high needed.

I love Dr. Baleeiro, but the administration in his office needs improvement. I have called his office several times, but nobody ever answers. I literally had to send them a message on social media, twice, to get someone to call me back. This is the short story, as far as communication goes. So if you are ok with not being able to access the office when you need to, all is well; but donā€™t count on being able to call their office and speak to someone. My rating is for the doctor because I donā€™t associate his work with the rest of his staff; that is the ONLY reason for the amount of stars.
