Worst
hospital
experience
ever.
My
aunt
was
brought
in
through
the
emergency
room
in
the
middle
of
the
night
on
a
Sunday
morning.
It
took
hours
to
get
her
a
bed,
they
placed
her
in
a
room
on
the
forth
floor
with
no
telephone
and
they
lost
her
ID
while
admitting
her.
The
family,
out
of
state
was
hung
up
on
twice
by
hospital/nurses
staff
while
trying
to
reach
my
aunt
by
phone.
When
we
were
finally
able
to
speak
with
her
they
moved
her
room
without
notifying
us.
I
flew
in
on
Tuesday
and
came
directly
to
the
hospital
from
the
airport
to
find
my
aunt
in
psychosis,
seeing
things
not
there
and
terrified
someone
was
trying
to
kill
her.
While
the
doctors
were
trying
to
find
the
sudden
cause
of
the
psychosis,
the
nursing
staff
seemed
to
disregard
her
and
not
consistently
check
on
her.
I
personally
stayed
with
her,
sleeping
in
a
chair
in
her
room
through
Saturday,
watching
the
physical
care
of
my
aunt
decline
each
day.
I’d
like
to
add
that
there
were
a
small
number
of
nurses
with
sweet
bedside
manners
that
responded
and
helped
with
every
request
my
aunt
had.
But
there
were
many
more
who
seemed
disinterested
in
their
job.
At
one
point
my
aunt
was
put
on
a
bed
pan
and
the
nurse
or
tech
did
not
return
for
over
an
hour.
She
was
scheduled
for
a
biopsy
almost
immediately
after
being
admitted,
that
was
repeatedly
canceled
and
rescheduled
for
the
next
day
three
times.
Each
time
she
had
not
been
allowed
to
eat
or
drink
from
midnight
the
previous
night
until
after
the
procedure,
but
it
would
be
dinner
time
or
after
until
they
decided
the
biopsy
wasn’t
happening
that
day
and
she
could
have
water!
The
last
night
I
was
with
her
was
the
worst.
Her
mental
state
had
improved
and
she
was
beginning
to
get
more
sleep.
We
waited
for
evening
meds
Friday
night
and
when
her
nurse
brought
them
approximately
9
pm
we
asked
for
her
pants
to
be
changed
and
her
c-pap
machine
to
be
put
on.
The
respiratory
nurse
came
at
ten
minutes
after
eleven
o’clock
to
put
the
c-pap
on.
My
aunt
was
finally
asleep
within
ten
minutes,
only
to
have
a
nurse
or
tech
come
in,
flip
on
the
light,
wake
her
up
to
check
vitals
at
11:40.
After
falling
back
asleep
her
pants
leaked
and
she
and
the
bed
were
soaked,
so
she
pressed
the
call
button
at
2:15am.
Within
seconds
the
room
phone
started
ringing,
scaring
us
both
up
and
wide
away.
Not
only
could
she
not
reach
the
phone
from
the
bed,
they
hung
up
and
called
again!
It
was
the
nurses
station
calling
to
ask
what
she
needed!!!!
She
needed
a
nurse
to
do
their
job!
Sad
to
say
that
an
almost
80
year
old
woman
made
the
comment
that
next
time,
instead
of
bringing
her
to
Virginia
Hospital
Center,
to
let
her
die
in
the
woods.
