During
my
latest
visit
(I
would
NOT
have
come
to
this
ER
if
I
didn't
think
I
was
having
a
heart
attack
and
this
was
the
closest
ER
to
me),
I
observed
two
front
desk
employees
verbally
assault
and
disrespect
a
patient
who
was
clearly
mentally
delayed
or
handicapped.
The
man
had
been
assaulted
by
his
two
siblings
and
had
been
waiting
for
6
hours.
A
normal
person
understands
that
patients
are
seen
based
on
emergency
priority.
Did
the
man
and
woman
he
spoke
to
explain
that
to
him?
No.
When
the
delayed
man
said,
"When
am
I
going
to
be
seen?
I've
been
waiting
here
for
6
hours,"
the
male
employee
up
front
responded,
"There
are
people
here
who've
been
waiting
a
lot
longer"
in
a
rude
tone
and
walked
off.
That
is
not
how
you
deescalate
or
speak
to
patients.
Then,
he
asked
a
woman
employee
when
he
could
be
seen.
She,
too,
was
rude.
The
delayed
said
to
himself,
not
to
her,
"f...
it's
been
hours."
The
woman,
black,
hair
in
a
top
bun,
caramel-skinned,
box-shaped,
and
very
hippy
yelled
loudly
at
him,
saying
he
wouldn't
disrespect
her
that
way,
and
asked
him
if
he
wanted
to
wait
inside
or
outside.
She
threatened
to
kick
him
out
of
the
ER!
He
told
her
that
she
couldn't
kick
him
out
and
before
he
finished
his
sentence,
she
said
that
she
could
have
security
escort
him
out.
How
disgusting!!
What
an
abuse
of
power.
The
delayed
man
later
apologized,
to
which
the
woman
ignored
him.
He
apologized
again.
The
woman
said,
"I
heard
you."
Later,
at
8
hours,
the
man
asked
again,
a
third
time,
when
he
would
be
seen.
This
time,
the
male
employee,
black,
over
6'0,
with
broad
shoulders
and
lowcut
hair,
said,
"Don't
do
it,
bro,"
and
sucked
his
teeth.
A
new
patient
overheard
how
rudely
the
mentally
handicapped
man
was
being
spoken
to
and
commented
on
it,
saying,
"Who
speaks
to
a
patient
that
way?"
Agreed.
What
sort
of
staff
is
this
ER
hiring?
If
they
can't
be
kind
to
developmentally
delayed
people
then
they
shouldn't
work
in
a
hospital.
Instead
of
easily
and
simply
explaining
the
protocol
for
seeing
people,
the
male
employee
continued
to
antagonize
the
patient
until
security
got
involved.
You
all
need
to
train
your
staff
on
de-eacalation
tactics
and
delayed
adult
sympathy.
Also,
RN
Lynzie
F.
(Super
sweet
and
polite)
drew
my
blood
without
first
sanitizing
the
injection
site
AND
she
used
her
bare
index
finger
with
injecting
me.
She
had
poked
a
hole
through
her
glove,
exposing
her
and
ME
to
bacterium
and
countless
other
infections
that
can
be
picked
up
at
a
hospital.
This
is
all
egregious
behavior
from
your
poorly
vetted,
poorly
trained
staff.
