I was looking to get an appointment with Dr. Pearson for some test as a new patient however, I don’t encourage anyone to even ATTEMPT to contact this facility. Not at the fault of Dr. Pearson because I’m sure she’s probably unaware of how UNPROFESSIONAL the receptionist staff are, which sucks because at the end of the day this reflects poorly on behalf of all staff. If patients can’t even get in contact with a live person to make an appointment or even ask general questions pertaining to their health, how do they expect to keep or gain new patients??? I called 5 different times and twice two people answered and kept me on hold so long that the phone disconnected. The last time I called I was hold for 10 minutes and heard somebody physically pick up the phone and hang it up. Honestly do better. This is not the time or season people want to play phone tag with Doctors offices.

NO ONE WILL ANSWER THE PHONE SO MEDICATIONS ARE NOT BE FILLED!! I love my Doctor! But it seems they switched to new management because you CANNOT get a call through. My pharmacy called to refill a prescription for 5 days and never got a person on the phone or a call back. I called for 4 days, never got a person or a call back. I was going to stop by and finally got someone on the phone after 30 minutes on hold. I was informed that all the calls are basically going into a voicemail, including the pharmacy and they will get to them when they can. Umm what?!? People need their medications refilled! I am assuming they are understaffed, but put that on a voicemail so there is some expectation. No one thinks a doctors office will not return calls to patients or the pharmacy for days/weeks. Equally as disturbing, during that call after much probing and an eventual request to schedule an appointment I found out my doctor was leaving the practice in 2 weeks. I had NEVER been notified. This started a whole new rabbit hole conversation or poor customer service and potential to disrupt medical care for patients. How is any of this ok?! I am not sure who to report all of this to, but I will do my research because these practices are harmful at a minimum. Luckily I am an able bodied healthy woman and can advocate for myself, but I cannot imagine the struggle unhealthy or elderly persons might be experiencing when trying to seek care from their medical provider if they are stuck using this practice. I will be looking for a new practice and im already dreading the process of trying to get in contact with them to have my records transferred.

Re: Response from owner: Thanks for responding but I found another medical group that actually answered the phone and made an appointment. First impressions matter. Is this place still in business? I have tried calling for the past three days and can't seem to get through to anyone to make an appointment and their voicemail function does not work. While their doctors seem great, if the front desk can't take calls how can anyone get service?

My husband & I started coming here when our PCP joined this practice and the negative experience began immediately. Make an appointment, arrive 10 minutes early as requested only to wait 60 minutes past your appointment time. The front desk is HORRID, they do not answer phones. We switched years ago but my father who had ALS still had his PCP here so unfortunately I am still quite privy to the awful experience in dealing with this practice. My father just passed recently and I cannot even get a phone answered to notify his doctor...how insane is that? Find another physician that IS NOT affiliated with Metropolitan.

Called to get an appointment and was on hold with the automated system for more than 15 mins. Then the phone would ring but go back to playing music. How is this acceptable for a doctors office? I was trying to make new patient appointment for a family member. I am currently a patient but now I will be finding us all a new provider. Writing the review while on hold and at 17 mins and 19 seconds, I’m hanging up.

I would give 1 star but I really like the doctor. First let me start by saying the front desk and schedulers are the worst. No one answers the phones and they do NOT call back don't get misleaded by the voicemail saying otherwise I left voicemails and messages on the portal and have yet to hear back. I have been running low on blood pressure medication so I have been trying to call and spent over 40 minutes on hold waiting with no response. I was hung up on two times in this process also. I went into the doctors office and was told that they received my message online but the doctor is busy so I will have to wait. I expressed that I am completely out of medication and the front desk person did not blink and repeated her last statement. THE FRONT DESK IS RUDE!!!! I have never encountered a bunch of lazy individuals in my life. Pick up the dang on phone and stop wasting peoples time. Save yourself the hassle and find other providers that will actually pick up the phone and want to help you.

Glad to see I’m not the only person dealing with the same problems! If it wasn’t for Dr Sampford I would have given this place an -100! This his to the worst run Dr’s office in history! Where do I start? The automated system absolutely sucks!!!! It makes it impossible to get a hold of someone! If can hold for 30 minutes, you may finally get someone. I could go on but I’ll just be repeating everything everyone else has said.

Dr hussain has been my PMD for many years, and I have referred at least 8 people to him. He is thorough and compassionate. Very prompt with answering any questions or concerns via mychart. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. Five stars!

Dr. Jennifer Chin is the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor, bar none. When my previous doctor left the practice I was assigned to her. She refused to refill my prescriptions of over a decade through MyChart and said I had to meet her in person first, ignoring my medical history. I had to go without medication for four weeks while I waited for an open appt with her. When I met her she said we would go through my prescriptions one by one. After reading the first two, she said "oh I don't feel comfortable prescribing these" and when I asked why, she said she wasn't familiar with the drugs or my medical history, as if my medical history isn't in the laptop right in front of her face. If she isn't familiar with common medication, why is she a practicing doctor? She fumbled through explanations, stuttering and looking at the floor and told me these were "old" doctors that prescribed these and she is a "new school" doctor that doesn't believe in them. She backtracked on saying she wasn't comfortable prescribing them by saying she had "no experience" with them. Then when I asked what the point of coming in was, she said she treats the whole body as a general prac and could help me with other things. I told her I wasn't here for "other things" I was here for this. Like I said when I made the appt and was told to meet her. She kept prolonging awkward silences and then asking, "so what do you want to do?" to which I'd respond, "I don't know, you're the doctor. I came to get my medicine refilled, but you aren't willing to do that." She said no doctor here would, so I asked what I was supposed to do, and she offered to write me a referral to another doctor, or a psych for some of the scripts. I don't need need a psych for cholesterol medicine. I don't need a referral, at all, because of my insurance allowing me to choose my own specialists. The entire interaction was bizarre, and played out as if someone was pretending to be a doctor and guessing what to say and do. It was SO awkward, she answered none of my questions, and offered no help whatsoever. I informed her this was a waste of time, we cancelled the appt so I didn't have to pay a copay for her doing absolutely nothing, and I left confused, and without extensions on THREE scripts I need. Obviously, she is fired, and I will be finding a new general practitioner that doesn't awkwardly fumble through my appointments and offer to examine "the whole body" as an alternative to my problems. Goodbye Luminis. I miss Dr. Jaffe and Wutoh (real doctors).

Can never seem to get an appt w/ my pcp Dr Hussain. No one answers the phone. They’re always scheduling me with different providers. Getting an appt here is the worst. I rather go to urgent care

I was a patient for Dr. Malik for many years, liked her, & had no problems at all. She left the practice & I was given Tormika Sanford as a NP. I had an appointment with her July ‘20 as a follow up visit from my appointment in December. It was billed to Medicare as a wellness visit, which she never even touched me & only asked me two questions, then sent me to the lab for bloodwork. I spent many, many phone calls to the office asking for the coding to be changed & resubmitted to Medicare, but that was no good. I went to the office & sat down with the office manager & asked her to have the coding changed to a follow up & resubmit it. Nothing has still been done about it & they turned it over to collections. I will never go back to that office again. I have no problem paying for services that was rendered to me, but not for someone else’s mistake.

I’ve finally made the decision to switch doctors. Pre-pandemic this place was fine. I don’t know what happened, but there’s no customer service whatsoever. I fasted for my last physical & the lab corp people left early so I fasted for no reason. Strike 1. Then they continuously decline my prescription refills because they haven’t seen me, as if my epilepsy will magically cure and I won’t need my meds. Trying to schedule an appointment is impossible. I called twice today on hold for over 30 minutes and never got through. Yet they had time to reply to the pharmacy to decline my refill?! Strike 2. Then I end up having a family emergency with my elderly father and I wanted his primary care physician’s opinion and help. The receptionist that day was amazing, but the doctor was given a message and NEVER called back. Strike 3. From my experience, none of the doctors in this facility actually care about their patients.

This place is horrible. Especially front desk. It's gone to the pits since last year. My daughter has had asthma since she was born. We came in because she was having chest pain and an asthma attack. The nurse really argued her down about her pain. We sat here for hours while other people were taken to the back.

Its sad that my 3 star review will actually bump up the score of this business - sad for the hardworking people physically at Luminis, that is. They deserve better. But the 'system' at Luminis deserves zero stars. At this stage in society in the United States, we're all used to waiting a very long time to see a doctor, sad but true. So that being said, I was prepared to wait a long time to see a doctor during my planned appointment. I waited about an hour. It is what it is. I was greeted nicely by the staff and treated very well by the doctor. I have no problem with the on-site staff, nor my treatment during my time when I was physically at the luminous health care facility. The doctors were professional, the staff was as well. At the time of my appointment, I had to pay my bill. I did so, out of pocket, and in full. However, Luminis health has sent me numerous texts and emails stating that I still owe. They are trying to charge me additional fees after the fact, even though I paid in full at the time of my visit. What kind of reputable business does this? I called thinking that obviously there was a mistake, however, their billing dept. is in Nevada, nowhere near their offices in Maryland. That’s fine, and I get it, however, billing department told me that I, not the people actually working in billing, need to sort it out with the Luminis health facility that attended to me. So I guess if you’re going to go to Luminis, plan on doing some of the work the billing dept. is supposed to do. I’m certain the staff off Good Luck Rd. will do their job to the best of their ability, they have always treated me with respect and, in my opinion, do their job well. However, be on the lookout for Luminis Health’s billing dept. located in Nevada. They won’t lift a finger, and I’m sure the business plan for this company is to prey on those that don’t have the time or know how to follow up and get these types of matters sorted in a professional manner. Those customers/patients probably end up just overpaying Luminis. If you have a choice, move on from going with this business. Let them work out the kinks in their system(s) and the flaws in their billing dept.

Worst office ever. It takes you 40 minutes to get ahold of the office. Scheduled an appointment only to arrive after sitting in traffic and driving 45 minutes only to hear that its been canceled and has been scheduled virtually. Terrible. Lost a patient of over 15 years. Thet do not care about their patients. This office should be investigated and shut down. It's been this bad for a few years now. Finally I'm fed up and looking for a new doctors office.

Never answer the phone what a shame

Since Metropolitan Medical Associates was taken over by Luminis, customer service has significantly declined. This is very disappointing as up until then patient services were very responsive. No one answers the phone and communications with our doctors are very limited with delayed responses by having to use the portal (they only have time to look at communications once a day I guess). When I tested positive for Covid yesterday I decided to go to Urgent Care because I would be able to get quicker treatment and a prescription for Paxlovid right away. And yes, I did send a message in my portal which was never answered. We like our doctors, it’s the system that has been put in place that is a barrier to treatment. It’s almost like the system is set up to turn patients away. We are seriously contemplating finding a better source of primary care.

I would give this office 0 stars. This office is complete trash. They don’t answer the phones. The doctors take forever to respond to portal messages. If you value your health DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE.

I was recently diagnosed diabetic. I was realeased on a Friday. I was prescribed both long term and short term insulin from this hospital. However, my Dr hasn't approved my prescription for my short term insulin and my pharmacy won't allow me to pick up the medication I paid for. I called the Dr to get him to authorize it but now no one can get in touch with him. I have called multiple times and yet no in the hospital has prioritize this issue. I don't know what to do I was left this weekend stranded and it's feels messed up.

Efficient and timely. Of course, sometimes every doctor's office will run late. This one is not usually that way for me.

Great Doctors, Great Nurses, Great Support Staff but EXTREMELY POOR Management! I have been trying to get a copy of my full medical records beginning from 01/01/2015 to 09/20/2022 and they have still failed to provide me with such records. They gave me a number to call ScanStat Technologies because according to them, ScanStat have the records even though Luminis has it too and can equally print or email the records to me. ScanStat ask me to apply online for the records, I applied twice within a period of two weeks interval and still never received the records. I called ScanStat again and they asked me to Call Luminis for the records. I called Luminis and Luminis again asked me to call StarMed for the records. I called StarMed and they say they no longer work with Luminis and so they can't get me that records and they too asked me to call Luminis back for them to provide me with the records. I called Luminis and the staff sent an email to the manager to assist in providing me with the records and it's been two weeks now and the manager has not responded. I have been seeking this medical records since February 2023. Medical Records accessibility to patients is as important as the medical care that patients receives and I urge Luminis to do the needful by being prompt and efficient in delivering medical reports when we ask for them.

Staff has no respect for patients. Staff gives out misinformation regarding appt time. They refuse to check in staff until after scheduled appt time. Why such poor service?

I have chronic pain and lung problems. I can't get refills for my inhaler and have been without for 5 days. I guess it doesn't matter that I can't breathe and am off balance due to lack of oxygen. They have refused to refer to another doctor outside of their network. It is nothing more than unethical.

Incredibly difficult to get someone to answer the phone. You could end up waiting over an hour just to speak with staff. And if you're lucky enough to get someone on the phone, you will likely have to wait a week or so for an appointment. I've primarily relied on Urgent Care for any ailments because of this.

I have been coming to this doctors office since they were in seabrook Maryland through 3 office moves and so forth and I can say that for the past few years or so it has become a very dis functional office. I don’t know why it has happen but it’s needs to be corrected. This office has some of the most compromised patients that come here for one reason or another and do not deserve this from healthcare. The front office and the phone lines are so very awful words can not explain it. I do know that technology is changing things in the office and that they are using my chart for a lot communication but please remember that some of the community that you serve are not up to speed. I pray that this onetime office comes back to some form of what it use to be serving the people and community I know that was long… but just expressing
