I reached out very late on a Sunday evening after my 12 year old German Shepherd had been in distress for a few hours. We had been refused at BLUE PEARL Animal Hospital which is about 3 miles from my house. Metropolitan was very kind and accommodating and upon arrival immediately attended to my beautiful dog. Upon examination my beautiful dog was deemed terminal and we had to make a quick decision to put her down. The doctor was kind, frank and explained all options. It was a brutal decision but everyone at the hospital could not have been more humane and kind to us and my beloved pet. Today I received a beautiful card signed by everyone at the hospital with just heartfelt genuine sentiments. Thank you Metropolitan for making a traumatic situation smoother. I highly recommend this hospital for your furry best friend and family member.

This animal hospital has treated our dog multiple times for incidents that have happened late evenings and weekends. Specifically, the veterinary tech Juan treated our dog with gentle care, kindness, and expediency during our most recent, and always unplanned, visit. We feel lucky to have this emergency vet clinic in our neighborhood. While I hope we do not have to return any time soon, this has been and will continue to be the first place we will go if we have an after-hours pet emergency.

My dog got into rat poison and I rushed him here. The entire staff were very nice. Although I was not allowed inside due to COVID, they were sweet and informative every time I called to check on my baby. One of the techs even sent me a picture of my little guy which made me feel so much better. I picked him up yesterday after 2 days. He is doing well and it appears he was well taken care of. Nobody ever wants to go to the emergency room with their pet but if you have to this is a solid place. I hope to never have to make another emergency trip there but I'm grateful for their services and compassion.

My pet was euthanized in January ,I waited for 3 months for his ashes when i enquire they said i should have picked them up a long time ago. I understood they were going to ship them to me. After I paid a few thousand I though they were paid enough and shipment was included UPS. They are kind at the beginning after I paid every thing changes. Their response to my enquire was LET ME SEE IF WE STILL HAVE YUR ASHES..

Our cat was having trouble breathing, we were worried we were going to have to put her down, and the staff were amazing - very professional, took fantastic care of our cat and made accommodation to our needs - looked at different emergency options, different care options for our budget, and prioritized our wishes for our cat to not be in pain. Our little girl responded to the medications and we were able to bring her home with a plan for what to do if it happens again. Thank you for being so caring during a stressful time.

MAESC did a fantastic job with my newly adopted, sick little kitten. Despite her poor prognosis, the team there managed to get her through the night, even managing to get an IV into such a dehydrated, malnourished, tiny 1/2-pound kitten. The veterinarian kept me informed of her condition, was honest with me about all the factors involved in her treatment, and even did what she could to minimize the cost for me. The front desk team and the tech who gave me discharge instructions were also lovely and empathetic, and I would highly recommend this practice to anyone dealing with a veterinary emergency.

I cannot begin to say how kind and compassionate the people who work here are. I recently took my elderly cat, Moxie, here, as his health was failing rapidly. Dr. Johana, the vet who saw Moxie, gave my mother and I several options regarding Moxie. In the end, it was his time, but the kindness of Dr Johana and everyone there made it more bearable.

If it’s possible to leave zero starts I would. My kitten caught Feline panleukopenia from here !!!!! When I noticed he was sleeping all day and wouldn’t eat, I considered brining him back here, but my gut told me not to, and boy was it right! I ended up taking him to Veterinary Referrals Clinic and that is where he was diagnosed. My kitten had recently been neutered and I took him to metropolitan because his stool had blood in it and his urine had white discharge. They were surprisingly unalarmed by the stool and only did a urinalysis on him. In my experience, I was left with a fat bill and an even sicker kitten. Let me emphasize that the virus he caught has a high mortality rate !! If I didn’t take him to the other clinic, who knows what could have happened. I have no other pets at home, nor is he an outdoor cat, so no way he caught this at home ! He was also had his normal energy and was eating fine until after his visit here !! I assume this clinic does not sterilize their equipment which is how he caught it. We went in at 1 am, with a zero weight time. I am sickened by what happened to my kitten and have no good things to say about this clinic !!!!! Their doctor is cold and rude, she also is in a rush to get us out. There was no wait time ! I also explained the reasoning metropolitan gave me for his unknown white pee to the current clinic and they gave me an odd face, saying that what they said made no sense !!!! I have NEVER left a review before, but because of the emotional turmoil my family and my kitten went through, I felt I have a duty to inform other pet owners. Save your fur babies from coming here !

My mom and I had to take my senior dog to this Er after he lost ability to walk due to a seizure. I’m glad we were home and witnessed what happened. They had an open slot thankfully. They ran X-rays and bloodwork. This did take a while. We were already as concerned and impatient as could be. They told us he had a big cancerous tumor that was the size of a tennis ball near his belly that was bleeding internally a bit. They gave options of what we could do to help our boy but unfortunately had no other choice to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep because he probably had weeks or months left and we didn’t want him to continue to suffer. There was no limit as to how long we could be with our dog one last time before putting him to sleep and especially after put to sleep. We received a heartwarming card from this place with there very kind words.

My 14 yr old ate a lot of cannabis and I raced there. Dr Wang was wonderful. Brianna at the desk lifted my 70 lb dog out of the car and carried her in. Julie and Andrea were wonderful vet techs and also a lovely guy whose name I didn't get. They were calm and reassuring. I would highly recommend them for emergency care

We had a terrific experience today! The staff was lovely up front, the vet techs were kind and thorough, and the Dr. was amazing - smart, efficient, great bedside manner both for owner and pup. Such a capable and kind group, nice and clean facility, and so convenient. Grateful to have their services in our backyard. Highly recommend Metropolitan Animal Emergency.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Metropolitan Animal Emergency Center was a beacon of compassion and care during a challenging time. After a disappointing experience with our regular vet, we brought our sick, beloved dog to Metropolitan for euthanasia, and the service was exceptional. The entire staff displayed kindness and genuine concern throughout the visit. In the midst of a difficult time, they provided the support and care that our family needed. It's reassuring to find dedicated professionals who go above and beyond to make a difficult situation more manageable. They earned our gratitude and respect for their outstanding service.

The staff at this center are among the most caring and compassionate I have come across in my years of being a pet owner. From the very first person you meet at the front desk, to the techs and the doctors, everyone was extremely caring and helpful to us. The communication was great, and everyone was very patient with us, considering the level of anxiety we had about our pet's condition. Highly recommended.

Metropolitan saved my puppy’s life! If you are reading this, you are probably in an emergency situation and trying to figure out the best odds for your pet. Go here. I had never been here before but am so glad this is the place I chose. The vets and vet techs are amazing - always there, highly communicative, and it is clear that they love animals. They make sure you approve charges in advance. If your pet has to be admitted, they contact you at least twice per day and you can call or visit whenever you want - and they respond immediately. My dog went from near death (due to a virus), to stable and happy in 4 days. These people rock.

We brought in our cat on Christmas night for an emergency that we knew would cause the end of his life. Despite meeting us for the first time, the workers at Metropolitan treated us with respect and treated our cat with dignity and compassion at his end. They were there at a moment's notice. Thank you for your care!

They're so great here! My roommate and I brought our cat here in 2021 who unfortunately ended up passing away from her illness but they were so kind and understanding even with covid policies in place. We just recently came back this weekend to have one of our younger cats treated for a urinary issue and they explained everything clearly and have good follow up instructions.

Everyone was super friendly and had the best interest in treating Tadashi with a puncture wound from his sister in a fight over a bone. Tadashi has a heart condition so the vet that did the surgery chose the best sedation for him and kept him at a minimal for sedation, giving his heart condition. Thank you so much for helping our sweet Tadashi!

My dog needed emergency surgery for a bowel blockage. They had her in surgery within two hours and home recovering the next morning. They were very kind and patient and made a difficult situation much better.

NEGATIVE 10,000 stars. Warning, do not take your beloved pet here under any circumstances. Especially end-of-life care. Most people want their pet cremated with a favorite toy/blanket/bed. This is not too much to ask. I made my wishes abundantly clear in writing on the Check-in form, and verbally to 3 different staff members. Unfortunately this facility has no protocol in place for such requests. There is a disconnect in communication between the front desk and whatever technicians handle deceased remains afterwards. My dog (14 lbs.) was on her little bed, swaddled in her blanket with stuffed animal tucked inside the blanket. After I left, I later learned a technician unswaddled my dog and separated her from these sentimental items. The items were placed in an unmarked trash bag on the floor in the morgue. I called the crematorium the next day to confirm whether these items were transported with my dog, they were not. The crematorium called Metropolitan, who could not locate our things. More than a dozen calls and 3 days later, Metropolitan ER was still goofing up, they had a different dog's toy & bed in a bag with my dog's name on it. Eventually they said they found our things. I went to Metropolitan to pick them up, they handed them to me in an unlabeled trash bag. I transported my dog's things to the crematorium myself, to avoid anymore mistakes. Meanwhile hundreds and hundreds of other local families who blindly trust and not made any follow up calls do not realize their dogs are not being handled according to their wishes. Sentimental personal effects are going into the trash bin, their dogs are being cremated without them. It is a horrible violation of a simple wish. I am lucky I was able to intervene in time to fix my situation, but other families have no idea what goes on after they walk out the door. Please call, micro-manage, be a control freak for your beloved pet's sake. And steer clear of this place.

We said goodbye to our beloved pup under the care of Metropolitan doctors and staff. Honestly, for an impossibly difficult situation, they were the kindest and most professional team I could have hoped for. The front desk staff in particular was kind, patient, respectful and loving. I will always recommend this location for pet emergencies after my experience. Much preferred, IMHO, over the DC option which we have visited in the past.

The support staff, techs and vet were all very lovely and professional. We have a very difficult tortoiseshell cat who turns into a monster when she goes to the vet, but they did their best to help and was very understanding. The facility is also very clean and has a nice calming atmosphere. Doing this work is a labor of love and dealing with a cat like mine late on a Sunday proves there are truly kind animal lovers out there. They were simply wonderful. Thank you.

11/10 experience. Diamond, April, Dr. Wilson, and the amazing vet tech (I unfortunately did not get her name) were all so sweet, kind, and courteous. There are not enough words to elaborate on the gratitude I have for them all. What was a traumatic experience for my family, and our cat turned into something bright based on their care for not only our cat, but our family. They were not kidding when they said "[to] call at anytime and we will provide you with updates." Dr. Wilson, and Dr. Y both spent over 20+ minutes on the phone with me each time I called to check in. I never felt rushed on the phone and they thoroughly answered all my questions. They both provided helpful insight, and recommendations on what our next steps would be; because of their care, our cat is on his way to recovery. I am so grateful to have come across this clinic. For what they do, with their unforgiving hours, everyone still remains so sweet. This says a lot on the integrity they embody as a clinic. Side note: This is an emergency vet clinic that is open 24/7, 365 days a year. They absolutely do routine appointments, and follow ups for your sweet babies, but just like a hospital, if there is an emergency case it will take precedence.

My husband and I brought our dog here at 5am for an emergency. Even through COVID precautions, they were very welcoming and provided great service. They were very helpful is explaining what was happening, what our options were, and how to proceed with next steps. We really appreciated the level of care!

Our go-to in an emergency. I’m so grateful for the team here. My wild child has been seen here for emergencies twice and every time I am grateful and satisfied with the service they have provided. Our second visit here was exhausting, but I’m more than grateful he’s alive. Before bringing him here I called a few places first to see who had the shortest wait time for an emergency. Most places wait time was between 12-unsure hours, metro had only a 4 hour wait time. I made sure to call on my way there so that they could be ready for me, and they were! Emergency vets usually have a wait, just like the human emergency room. And just like the human emergency room they have to prioritize the emergencies. I did wait a long time, just like I was told I probably would. And although I may not have heard from the vet for a sec, my boy got kenneled in the back immediately where they start triage and stabilizing bc that’s what always happens before a doctor sees you. I’m grateful they had a coffee bar so I could boost my anxiety, lol. Honestly it helped me pass the time faster, so I’m appreciative. My bill was expensive, bc emergencies are expensive. They ran all the procedures and tests I would hope they would do in our situation. I am forever grateful for their help. My boy was a giant drama Queen this second time, and I appreciate everyone for caring for him, dealing with his screams, and helping him even when he’s at his worst

We brought our very sick dog in right before Halloween after our normal vet was unavailable. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Wilson and the entire team. We knew going in that our chances of bringing him home were low, but we needed to know we had tried everything. Their commitment to helping our beloved pet gave us peace of mind. We called a couple times for updates, they called us unsolicited to give an update as well. We showed up unannounced to visit with him and they provided us with a private space with no time limits on how long we could be there with him. Ultimately, we had to put him down and the compassion they showed during one of the worst moments for us, I will never forget. About a week later, we received a lovely sympathy card with a paw and nose print they had taken for us. I am grateful for the care they took in this heartbreaking time.

The staff is AMAZING!! My cat ate thread and they were so quick to help her. 2 days in a row they were caring for her. They immediately took her in, let me know what was wrong & what to expect. They answered my endless amount of questions both in person and over the phone once we were home. When surgery came up, the price was too much for me but they didn’t hesitate to give me a list of affordable places to go for the emergency surgery. They helped me so much with choosing what to do with my baby. They were the nicest, most patient people I’ve ever dealt with in a vet. Even now after she had the surgery at a different vet, anytime I call them with questions about her post-op, they are happy to help and give me no issues even though they didn’t end up doing the surgery themselves. I can’t say enough good things about this place. although things like emergency surgery may be obviously expensive with them, I still highly recommend because they will not hesitate to give other options and help you as best they can & be extremely patient when you and your pet are stressed.

We called around 11 on a Friday night to describe symptoms and after checking with the vet reception said it was best to bring our dog in. Glad we did because our dog turned out to have an abscess under her jaw. Dr Schneider was great and saw our dog immediately when we arrived a half hour later. Staff was friendly and caring. Our dog is reactive and needs sedation to even be examined so when I had a question next day, vet tech Josh followed up with me on phone and through pics/video so we didn't have to create more stress for our dog. Josh is a total rock star in our book!

My family and I chose to put our dog of 10 years down yesterday. The staff members and veterinarians were very patient, professional, and compassionate throughout the whole experience. Thank you for giving us a comfortable and supportive setting to say our final goodbyes to Blue.
