Father
had
major
6
hr
spine
surgery
and
the
doc
(Hassanzadeh)
was
excellent
and
has
warm
caring
demeanor,
very
approachable,
open
to
questions
and
no
BS
in
the
answers-Very
polite
and
professional;
loved
him.
The
cafeteria
is
undergoing
improvements
but
itās
clean
and
open
and
visitors
can
order
from
a
touch
screen
in
the
cafeteria
or
they
can
use
Grubhub
app
to
order
from
cafeteria
(or
outside
vendors),
which
was
pretty
convenient.
Also
there
is
a
small
cafe
that
serves
specialty
coffees,
pastry,
to-go
sandwiches,
a
few
snacks
and
bottled
drinks.
The
first
day
I
was
visiting
my
father
there,
I
was
looking
around
the
cafeteria
trying
to
figure
out
how
it
works
and
a
nurse
was
getting
her
breakfast
-she
went
out
her
way
to
show
me
the
touch
screens
and
tell
me
how
it
works
-
I
didnāt
even
ask!
The
Front
guard,
cafeteria
staff,
general
support
staff
were
all
polite
and
helpful.
The
Anesthesiologist
and
CRNA
were
nice
and
thorough
and
seemed
well
informed
of
the
patient.
During
his
surgery
they
have
a
texting
update
every
hour
as
well
as
monitors
in
the
waiting
area
and
cafeteria
that
give
the
patient
status
(they
are
assigned
/
identified
by
a
patient
number
to
protect
identity).
We
did
have
a
small
wait
after
surgery
for
him
to
get
a
room
but
it
wasnāt
a
problem
and
he
just
stayed
in
the
recovery
area.
All
the
nurses
we
had
throughout
the
stay
were
more
than
polite,
they
were
nice.
Impressively
he
was
given
a
large
single
room
with
a
private
bathroom
the
day
after
surgery
and
I
had
a
small
loveseat
and
plenty
of
room
to
stretch
out,
do
work
on
my
laptop,
store
our
duffle/
backpack/
tote.
2
extra
folding
chairs
in
the
room,
a
recliner
for
patient,
and
a
mini
fridge!!!!!!!
So
I
could
put
drinks,
fruit
cup,
leftover
lunch
stuff
in
there.
There
was
a
large
window
and
everything
was
clean.
Our
room
had
a
~40
in
touchscreen
monitor
(in
addition
to
a
flat
screen)
that
listed
attending
nurses,
assistants,
care
staff,
physical
therapist,
last
pain
meds
and
next
time
they
were
due,
preferred
contact
person
and
phone
#,
diet
restrictions,
hearing
restrictions,
fall
risk,
last
pain
score
reported
by
patient,
fall
risk,
level
of
assistance
needed,
recommended
activity
level,
and
all
current
pain
meds
being
taken/given.
This
blew
my
mind!!!-
in
a
good
way.
Sometimes
in
other
hospitals
there
are
so
many
people
that
come
into
the
room
and
you
get
the
feeling
they
gleaned
over
the
patient
chart
but
donāt
know
whatās
going
on-
that
was
not
the
case
here.
It
was
comforting
for
me
to
have
access
to
all
that
info
as
well
bc
the
patients
are
usually
tired,
cranky,
drugged
up
on
pain
meds,
canāt
hear
or
canāt
see
that
far,
and
donāt
know
whatās
going
on
exactly
or
who
their
nurse
is,
etc.
The
head
nurse
in
charge
came
an
introduced
herself
and
gave
a
card
with
her
number
on
it
(this
is
in
addition
to
the
head
nurse
under
her,
and
attending
nurses.)
there
was
a
housekeeper,
Roxanne,
who
went
wayyyyy
above
and
beyond
-
she
mopped
the
floor,
sanitized
ALL
things
in
the
room
(counters,
computer
that
nurses
use,
IV
equipment,
bed
rails,
closet
door,
bathroom,
side
table)
ā-
I
mean
holy
cow-
that
is
amazing!
Iāve
never
seen
that
before
but
it
makes
so
much
sense!
She
really
thinks
about
her
job
and
whatās
best
for
the
patient!
Honestly,
this
was
the
best
in-patient,
multi
day
(5
days)
hospital
experience
my
father
(patient)
and
I
(visitor
for
8+
hours
a
day)
have
had.
I,
myself,
am
a
medical
provider
and
so
I
canāt
help
but
pay
attention
to
these
things,
esp
when
the
patient
is
my
dear
father.
Lastly,
most
of
the
hospital
has
large
windows/
skylights
and
an
open
and
light
feel.
Ps-
my
father
said
it
was
the
quietest
hospital
heās
been
in
-
another
nice
thing.
Thank
you
to
everyone
at
Suburban
hospital.
