The level of customer service for such a beautiful hotel was terrible to say the least. My family and I drove 3 hours to help my sister who recently had a baby and was overwhelmed. They paid for a room for us to stay in not far from their house. Upon arrival/registration process, I was told the room was not paid for and I would need to pay about $461 for the 2 nights. After getting the paperwork I noticed a different card from mines showing and questioned it. With an annoyed tone the rep said it was only to hold the room, which still needs to be paid for so sign here. I completed the check in process as I was already exhausted and just ready to get some sleep. My mom and children went up to the room while I looked for a parking spot. After getting upstairs, I noticed the door would not lock at the bottom, but decided to ignore it and use the top latch. I noticed my mom who is anemic,, sitting with her head wrapped up and shivering. I asked what was wrong with the heat she said it wasn't coming on but maybe she didn't know what she was doing. After trying it myself, I noticed the thermostat was not working at all, it was an old time wall thermostat with the switch on the bottom and temperature buttons to adjust. No lights were displayed to indicate it was working so I called down to service desk to get it fixed or moved to another room. By this time it's a out 11:30 and had worked since 6am. The woman answered the phone and after I explained what was going on replied, there are no utility workers on shift, the hotel is completely booked and the only option is to get some blankets to us. I said fine reluctantly and waited for the blankets. The security guard brought 2 blankets for us a few minutes later and said normally you just have to turn up the heat to warm it up. He checked it out and said wow you're right, nothing IS happening. Maybe then can put you downstairs. This time my mom called the front desk and was met with an unfriendly even more annoyed tone. After another explanation of the heat situation, my mom asked to speak with a manager; she was told, "There is no manager, we are fully booked and I'm busy right now." My mother said there is no way I'm paying all this money to stay at a hotel with no heat, if you can't help me then we'll take our money elsewhere. She then said you're welcome to leave which we did. After speaking to my sister, she was furious because the Crown Plaza had an affiliate hotel right across the street. The agent could have tried just a tad bit more to act like she cared about her guests. Customer Service is the face of a business and that experience could have been managed so differently. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 stars Pros: Convenient location near University of Maryland and FedEx Field Modern and stylish rooms Friendly and helpful staff Nice amenities, including a pool, fitness center, and restaurant Cons: A bit pricey Parking can be difficult at times Room service can be slow Detailed Review: I recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza College Park Washington for a business trip. The hotel is located in a convenient location near the University of Maryland and FedEx Field. It is also just a short drive to downtown Washington, DC. The rooms were clean, modern, and stylish. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious. I also appreciated the fact that the rooms had a refrigerator and a microwave. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure my stay was enjoyable. The hotel has a number of nice amenities, including a pool, fitness center, and restaurant. The pool was a great place to relax after a long day of meetings. The fitness center was well-equipped with a variety of cardio and weight-training machines. The restaurant had a nice selection of food and drinks. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Crowne Plaza College Park Washington. It is a great hotel for business or leisure travelers. Additional Notes: The hotel is a bit pricey, but I think it is worth the price for the location and amenities. Parking can be difficult at times, especially on weekends. I would recommend making a reservation if you are planning to drive. Room service can be slow, so if you are in a hurry, you may want to eat at the restaurant instead.

Absolutely terrible. My daughter was there with a school group. Their room was so full of condensation that their bedding was soaking wet. They were told it wasn’t possible for them to get new sheets (because housekeeping is subcontracted out) and to just turn the AC as cold as possible. So they were freezing cold with wet bedding. When I called, the front desk was extremely rude (and hung up on me) but I guess we’re lucky because sheets were dropped off and the kids were told to make the bed themselves?! This is after them asking for this to be fixed for 3 days. Disgusting, poorly maintained hotel with extremely rude staff.

I’m now on night 8 of a 12 night stay, and the service at this hotel is horrible. As someone who spends 200+ nights a year in hotels, I expect better, especially from a Crowne Plaza. First day, stood at the reception desk for almost 15 minutes before a staff member came to the desk. Did not receive housekeeping service on the second day, inquired on the morning of the third day and was informed it was by request only, and I told them I had not been made aware of this upon checkin, and there is no signage present anyway to this effect. I informed the agent at that time that I’d like daily housekeeping service. The room was serviced the following day, but then again, the room was not serviced the day after, I again told the front desk that I’d like daily service, and my room had not been done, and they said they would note it. The next day, still no service. In the past 8 days it’s been done twice. When I called the front desk yesterday afternoon, the phone rang for about 10 minutes before someone picked up and put it on hold for another 5 minutes. I told them I’d requested daily service and had not received it again, and I would need my towels refreshed and trash taken, she said she would send someone. 30 minutes later I called back and she said “fine I’ll just do it myself”. About 10 minutes later a bang on the door to find towels in a bag left on the handle. I return back to my room today to find it yet again has not been serviced - went to the front desk and the agent working just immediately tried to comp a night, which to a leisure guest might be fine, but as a business traveller, that doesn’t help me. She responds with “fine, what do you want” - I just want my room serviced, like I’ve requested (almost daily) and have been told it would be. Is it so complicated for a hotel to do a stayover housekeeping service? If you’re staying for more than one night, don’t. It’s not worth it. The rooms themself are decent, though the water pressure in the shower is not.

I liked the place, however, we requested wash clothes and they didn't have any. The room was cold even when we had it on 80. The staff was fantastic. Breakfast was good. Kinda felt like a hotel with a motel feel...

A significant number of my clients prefer the venue at the Crown Plaza Hotel for hosting their events. The banquet team at this location is truly outstanding, working together seamlessly and showcasing an exceptional level of professionalism. Working with them has been an absolute pleasure, and I must say that Sergio is the BEST!

I stayed here October 16, 2023, in room 1418, midway on the north side. As shown in the photos, this is right next to I-495. Despite my being on the north side, I was amazed at the constant truck noise. In the morning I took the photos here showing how close the highway is (the close one is from the end of the hall). The room was smaller than I expected, and I immediately felt a little ripped off. The staff was nice. We paid for the breakfast, and it was nice to eat off of China plates with silverware instead of paper plates and plastic utensils at most places. I would try to find a quieter place next time.

Attended an event 15 minutes away, and this hotel was perfectly located for my needs. Appreciated the friendly receptionist and housekeepers I met. The room was very clean and well-appointed. Having a microwave in the room would have helped tremendously because I traveled with children. Otherwise, I will definitely stay here again very soon.

We reserved 2 rooms for a charity gala in April 2023, and I’d only stay here if the group that runs the gala makes this the official hotel again. Pros: renovated rooms, hot water, comfortable bed, AC works well, fast elevators. Cons: cable guide never updated what show was airing, so the same thing that was stated to be on at 4 pm when we checked it was still reportedly on at 11 am when we checked out the next day. I called the day before my stay to ask if my 2 rooms could be placed on the same floor. I waited on hold for 18 minutes prior to speaking to a person who could help me, but she was able to put a note into the system within 60 seconds of getting on the line. When I checked in, I was told that no such note existed in their system, so my 2 rooms were going to be on different floors (11 and 16). The second room happened to have a privacy sign on the door handle, and yes, it was already occupied. We unfortunately woke up a sleeping woman upon entering the room, then had to go back to the lobby with our luggage to be assigned a new room, still on a different floor from our first room. There was a random Mucinex tablet on the floor of our room, so I questioned how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. The shower water was nice and hot, but the pressure was lower than expected. The AC unit started leaking over the coffee maker and refrigerator, so we had to use one of the towels to absorb the leak. Once again, I’d only stay here again if I had to.

Very nice hotel! The staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel appears updated, clean, and bright. The handicap accessible room was great. The roll in shower was nice and had an adjustable shower head. They provided a shower chair that made it easy to transfer and take my shower. There are tons of outlets for charging your devices and I found the king sized bed really comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

This is a beautiful hotel, with a nice entrance way and plentiful parking. I had already checked in through their app and everything went smoothly. As you entered, there was an open business center, a mini store, a very well stocked bar and a restaurant, and to the right, the front desk. Everyone was very friendly and courteous. The room was nice and clean. When visiting Greenbelt, this will be our stay.

The lady at the reception was very welcoming and informative. If I could give a 10/10, I would easily. The breakfast was also good . But the room had no shower gel nor bathing soap.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the week 9/25/2023 on vacation, it's a very nice hotel and it's located nicely to the Greenbelt Metro which we used daily. I want to give praise to the women of the morning restaurant. These women work hard and are very personable. It was a pleasure going in every morning to have breakfast and knowing that a "Good morning" was coming your way. They were very attentive even having the buffet. Thank you for making our stay more enjoyable.

One night for a conference in the area. Welcoming was very friendly and professional and quick. Room was very clean as was the bath. Ate at the bar during happy hour and we rate the tater tots 11/10! Bartender was personable and professional. Lots of parking and minutes away from highways to anywhere. Two thumbs up. Would stay again!

No microwave in rooms. You have to go all the way to the 1st floor lobby to use “the only microwave “ for the whole entire hotel which is crazy to me. And elevator issues is TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! You have 15, 20 or 30 waiting for two elevators. Plus Sometimes the parking is really bad. Lastly the front desk has to buzz you in I think after midnight. If it wasn’t for the elevator and microwave issue I probably would’ve given this hotel 4.5 to 5 stars. They really need to better for what they charge.

The hotel was beautiful with had terrible service. During our stay we had no soap, I asked for room service and did not receive any. The bed did not come with a fitted sheet. Did not receive wash cloths or towels. Also the elevator broke down & we had to take the stairs… the stairs led us to the laundry room & kitchen. It was very scary. They do not have stairs for emergencies.

Reception was professional, friendly, and patient given we had very tired little ones with us. Made it a point to thank Military for their service which was nice to hear. Also did their best to help with food recommendations in the area that was kiddo friendly. 10/10 would recommend and plan to return in the future. Price was great and room was clean and comfortable.

I went to the hotel for a business meeting at the bar during happy hour. The food and drinks were rather good. There were plenty of quiet places to talk. The service was excellent.

Our stay was amazing! Excellent service, very fine restaurants with great food! Gym is great too. Staff is very humble. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel would rather have you spread Covid to their employees and other guests than be responsible. On the day we were supposed to check in, we tested positive for Covid. We proactively called the hotel management to explain that we would be rescheduling our trip in order to prevent infection to others. We further offered to provide evidence of positive test results. However, the hotel management denied our reschedule request and proceeded to charge us for the entire length of our stay. What does that say about this hotel, other than the fact that it does not care about the welfare and safety of its guests and its employees? Stay away.

I really enjoyed my recent stay at this Crowne. Check in was ver easy and pleasant. The remodel is very nice and the hotel looks great. The bar downstairs has great good and very good drink options. I wish it stayed open a little later but i understand. My room was clean and spacious. The heat/ac worked and the water pressure and temp were exceptional. I didnt hear any other guest or any noise from the hallways. I also used the gym often and it was well maintained.

LooL interesting experience. No hot water or internet for 2 days. Great size room with 2 comfortable double bed. Didn't get any housekeeping for the first night. Receptionist are nice and professional. My room 1004 had a very small toilet seat I could not understand why? 🙃 under beds and sofa were not clean. No pool in the hotel. You will experience a lot of drug activity in the parking lot. For all that had to pay near 200 nightly.

I've always loved this hotel it's always clean and comfortable the breakfast is always delicious. The only thing that's a problem for me is that they say they have circuit issues therefore they don't have any microwaves in the room I think with the money that they charge they need to get some circuit issues fixed people want to be able to maybe eat a bag of popcorn while they watch a movie or whatever. Other than that the upgrades were nice.

I cannot say enough about this hotel. Every time I stay, it's comfortable, the staff is very welcoming and accommodating, and the hotel is fairly quiet even though there may be large functions going on or large groups staying there. The staff in the restaurant is always phenomenal in the mornings for breakfast. The breakfast buffet is adequate and delicious! The bar staff is great as well. The front desk staff are simply awesome! I am not sure of his title but Steve seems to bend over backwards to make sure everyone is happy and taken care of. If you're in the bar area during happy hour, you've got to try the sweet potato fries. Literally the BEST EVER! They are served with cinnamon and a drizzle of honey. Absolutely delicious! This is definitely a hotel that I will return to every time I'm back in the area.

From my initial call to my check in every staff member I encountered was amazing!! Ms. Regina at the front desk especially went out of her way to make my stay phenomenal. The ladies on the restaurant (I didn’t catch their names) were awesome and so friendly. Definitely will be staying again soon!!!

I found my room a bit dirty. Some large very noticeable pieces of trash from previous guests. The shower wall had soap or shampoo scum visible in the walls. That’s why I gave it 4 star. The breakfast looked and was delicious. There were 5 servers and kept our group which was about 100 very well fead. Very professional and friendly!! They get ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s. The rest of the hotel was clean and very modernize.

We had a great experience from the front desk with Steve checking us in being very helpful and courteous. Our room was very clean and beautiful and the mattress hugs you while you're sleeping lol. It was very hard to get out of bed so comfortable. Breakfast was super fresh and very delicious yummy. I really appreciated the great service we got at Breakfast. It would be great to have lunch and dinner there. Looking forward to going back very soon. One of my top three hotels.

😠 The lady was very nice. We needed a hotel for one night, honestly a couple hours. Y’all should change pet friendly to just dog friendly.
