Went to the ER on a Saturday around 4pm with some cardiac issues and shortness of breath. I never even sat down in the waiting area. They took me straight back to Triage, got a quick x-ray and blood test and had me in the back all in under 15 minutes. I warned them I was a very tough stick for IV access (the record is 11) and a wonderful nurse who was certified in using the ultrasound placed 2 IVs, one in each arm with just 3 sticks. God Bless Rafael. The ER doc saw me quickly and they wasted no time in admitting me to their Cardiac Step Down Telemetry Unit. The nursing care was excellent and even the food was fresh and very good. Great hospital.

If I had to rate this place I wish ZERO was an option. I WILL NEVER EVER AGAIN COME TO THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN! AND COMPLETELY DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO COME HERE! The ER wait time was 6 hours. I've been waiting here for at least 10hrs+ now. Still waiting and only been triaged. Its now 730am. How serious is a head a jury if you get a CT scan and still don't have no update? I need answers Medical Director Jeffrey or whomever is the Attending tonight? How are you all prioritizing patients? This is UNREAL!

The most terrible emergency department experience for my life! We are waiting here for “TEN HOURS” to see a doctor. I don’t know how much longer we have to wait here. However, we definitely won’t come back to this horrible ER ever!!!!! Don’t come to this hospital!

My friend got hit by a car around 6 pm and was taking to this hospital. They ran an scan on his leg and he has been sitting waiting for some answer in regard to his situation. At this point I am trying to get him out of the hospital and there is no nurse at the check-in. Charles the security guard has been nice enough to talk to us and let us know how busy they are and there is limited staff. One thing I can tell you is that keeping people informed would be an improvement in the process, if it would not be because of Charles I would have left the place in so much anger with a beat up friend. Now is 2 am on Sunday. I am guessing that not enough doctors and staff and many patients. People in general have been nice and try to help but the doctor has 2 more people to see before they see my friend, going to rest and hope this wait is worth.

This place was nice and clean, the receptionist, woman at registration, my pre-op nurse were all great! Absolutely love my surgeon and her team, the issue was after surgery. They told me my person could come back when I was in the post op area, I kept asking and they kept saying they would call her. An hour later she came back and no one had called her. The nurse then told me people couldn’t come back because of covid which I totally understand. Just not sure why they didn’t say that to begin with. I started having pain and asked for medicine. The nurse said she would get some, then proceeded to take a personal call on her cell phone, laughing and chatting with someone. The other woman who helped me change hit my leg (the one that had been operated on) on a chair which was awful. When my ride called to let them know she was out front they had to call out my name multiple times before a group of nurses stopped chatting in the corner and listened. She also said she would pack supplies for me to change my bandages and did not. I could not get out of there fast enough. I’ve never had such a bad hospital experience and after seeing the reviews it looks like it’s pretty typical.

If you have a life threatening emergency, this is NOT the ER for you! Here, you wait for so long that you start contemplating whether it makes more sense to go elsewhere and start the process all over again. I literally watched a woman pull out her own IV drip and walk out after waiting for so long. Her IV and wheelchair are still sitting there. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

My 2 visits to the ER, have been the worst experience waiting for care. Although I have High respect for there Nurses and Doctors, specially in the COVID Era! First time I went there, I waited for more then 14 Hours, not going into details. Today I waited for 5 and half hours, before I asked to be released at my own risk! Come On, they had only 1 Doctor & 1 Intern Doctor in the entire ER. I totally understand there might life and death cases take priority, but frankly ER / Triage wasn't that busy, that I could see. I hope Adventist Management & State of Maryland takes notice of all complains, I would not recommend going to there ER Services.

If I could give this place no stars I would.. I came in with my wife to the ER and it's the next day and we haven't even seen a doctor or nurse. I've asked 2 employees which I believe are nurses about the time frame, all they could say is your lucky it's a fast night. You will be seen soon, grant you we have been waiting 6hrs already and the waiting room was practically empty when we arrived. Seriously if it's an emergency go to another hospital.. GO to Holy Cross they are the closest hospital to this one. They might be busy but their wait time to be seen isn't as long as this and their customer service is outstanding. We are going to another hospital. And calling our insurance. To be charged just to get your vitals checked and spend 7hrs in a room.

I was sent here directly from Adventist urgent care, where they had already diagnosed me and run Prelim labs. In the TWELVE HOURS i have now been here, these clowns have lost my lab samples, given me no pain meds despite the same having been ordered hours ago, performed no diagnostic imaging (the whole reason i was sent here) and no doctor has spoken with me. I could have been this miserable and devoid of medical help from the comfort of my own home with the added benefit of not having an ER bill for my troubles. If you actually need medical help DO NOT COME HERE. Literally go anywhere else. Try Target and have the customer service person page over the intercom for any doctor in the store and you'll get better care if the only person who responds to the page has a PhD in Medieval Architecture and grabbed a first aid kit off the shelf.

Zero stars sadly not an option. Horrible emergency department experience. Waited over eight hours for x-rays and to speak to anyone about results. My loved one with an injured hip was forced to sit on waiting room chair with no cushion. Absolutely terrible communication with desk staff. Took us eight hours to get a single blanket. No explanation for delays and no updates. I would not leave anyone you care about in this hospital’s care. As a physician, I had ample time to observe their operation--they cannot triage, they cannot provide efficient care, and generally they deliver an embarrassingly low standard of medical care. The periodically loud screams from the back rooms were a tip-off that this place is a horror show, not a hospital.

Horrible experience with customer service. Receptionist transferred me to Lab to check on test results... and literally they picked up and left the phone on for me to listen while these people are sitting there giggling and laughing around, probably just twiddling their thumbs, trying to figure out how to answer the phone. Not to mention our previous experience my son was having extreme abdominal pain, rushed him to emergency and waited about 4 hours for nothing. And mind you, these nurses are literally making fun of patients? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I can clearly hear you making fun of that woman hair. It's ridiculous. HOSPITAL CAN AFFORD TO HIRE NEW PEOPLE AND FIRE THE BAD APPLES MAKING EVERYONE ROTTEN. THIS IS A HOSPITAL NOT A PLAYGROUND

Greetings. My uncle was rushed to the Emergency Room at this Medical Center last Sunday and admitted for three days on 3N-14 Cardiovascular Unit. He received the best medical service and treatment beginning with the Case Mgr. Ashley Higgins, Cara, Yvette and the ENTIRE 3N Staff all provided phenomenal professionalism, respect, love and care for my uncle. The level of communications from start to finish was extraordinary. If I could give 9+ stars I would only to leave a little room for improvement as we all need that in our life. Please give everyone our appreciation for the outstanding service, love and respect we received. Thank you very much!!!!

I went to ED last night, the place was packed of people, but the nurses were still nice in spite of their non-stop work- Regina Lee (in triage) & Barbie (can’t remember her last name). Although they were busy, they were still smiling & in their calm demeanor. The lady who did my CT scan was great too (sorry, can’t remember her name. Aaron Adler, PA-C was very knowledgeable & had a good bedside manner. He took his time to explain to me in detail all the findings of my test results & gave me opportunity to ask questions. Thanks so much guys ! You are the best!

The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because the PA in the emergency room was efficient and kind to me. I was brought in via an ambulance, because I thought I was having a stroke or stroke like symptoms. I was scared and the EMT's did a lot to alleviate my anxiety. During the intake, I responded to all of the nurses questions, and physical test of my strength. She returns to the computer and then says, "why didn't she tell us..." looks up at me, and the nurse next to her quiets her. One makes a phone call, and they tell the EMT's to send me to the waiting room in a dismissive manner. I wasn't having a stroke, but it was emotionally distressing to not know what was going on with me. It took almost 5hrs to receive a bed in the ER. I had to wait for a blood draw, which had not been done during my intake, and was finally seen by the PA. He was kind, attentive, and ran the test necessary to rule things out. I'm upset that the wait time was so long, since I was brought in via ambulance. Also, the nurses comment was never addressed or explained, especially if there was something wrong with my medical chart.

The following incident occurred on Friday, October 20, 2023, somewhere around noon. Supervisor of Patient Access Angela “Angie” Bright, was sitting in with my daughter who was at the time a Patient Access Representative. A Hispanic, non English speaking patient came into the Adventist White Oak ER for chest pains after having some sort of heart surgery at another facility very recently. As they started her registration, the patient (thinking she was doing the right thing) asked if she would have to pay to be seen and was told by Angela Bright that she would have to pay a $350 deposit. It is against hospital protocol to have any financial conversations with anyone prior to being seen. I can’t imagine that was ethical, especially given her chief complaint and prior circumstances. This poor woman decided to leave because of this atrocity and at no point did Angela Bright ever try to stop her, even though she knew how she mislead her. Yes it’s true that the uninsured are asked if they can pay (after being evaluated by a medical professional in some way), this is a business after all. But nobody is turned away if they cannot and it is disgusting that she did that. Do you know how many people come in for less serious things and don’t pay on the spot but still are seen? There was no remorse or empathy at all and nobody like that should be sitting in that position. She took full advantage of the patient and even seemed proud of it. I am only speaking on this now because my daughter no longer works for this trash place so I don’t have to keep quiet about it anymore. To the supervisors of the supervisor - just go run the tapes back from that day. You’ll see it. There’s more that goes on here that is unacceptable for a place of work and/or a place of healing, but this situation was down right dangerous and needs to be told. Don’t wait until someone is seriously hurt or killed to make the necessary changes to your place of business. Terrible liability.

I delivered my son at this hospital, being as scary as it was I can honestly say I received the best care a girl can ask for. From the labor & delivery unit, to the postpartum unit Not once did I encounter a bad interaction with any nurse/staff member. The nurses were heaven sent and really made me feel cared for on a personal level.

If you come to the emergency room, plan to wait a long time! My son needed to get dialysis and it took a long time. The first time he came we arrived at 4:00 pm and he didn’t see the doctor until 1:10 am. He didn’t get dialysis until 1:00 the next day. When I called, his nurse was so rude and asked me, “When are you coming for him?” Highly disrespectful! The next time he came for dialysis the wait was even longer! Don’t come to this place because people are rude. I’m highly disappointed in the hospital!

Worst ER on the planet! Seriously if you need help DO NOT go here. You have a better chance at completing a bachelors, going through medical school, and residency, then treating yourself before a doctor comes in and sees you. I understand that ER wait times are usually long but this hospitals’ one is just unacceptable. Literally the rapture could happen before you are even seen. There is no sense of urgency here and I am a reasonable person and pretty patient but when someone is in LITERAL excruciating pain, it would be nice to know that they are working to get you the best care. Seriously would not recommend. Even if it’s the closest location to you and it’s a life or death situation because you’d probably die. If I could give it zero stars I would. Update: If I could give this place a -1000, I would. They have now lost the sample that was given to them two hours after checking in. Such a poor excuse for an ER. This place is a joke. It is going on 10 hours that I’ve been here. Seriously DO NOT come here if you are seeking assistance. You won’t get it.

It takes too long to serve patients. I arrived with an asthma crisis and had to wait 5 hours to be seen. It is absurd to have to wait so long when there is an emergency. I do not recommend it.

Absolutely the WORST ER experience ever. We basically spent a little over 12hrs (2pm - 2:30am) between ER waiting area and ER waiting. Once we got a bed in the ER, the night doctor, who is pretty much worthless in my opinion, took 3hrs to come see us in the room for only 15-20mins just to tell her after all the tests she took she was only dehydrated. While we were waiting for him to come in to give us the test results, which were completed earlier in the day, he was sitting around at his desk and chatting with other doctors. If it was so busy you would not have an opportunity to even take a bathroom break...yet he had plenty of time to sit around. There was no urgency to get us out sooner, even when he acknowledged how long we had been waiting. After another 2hrs pass, I asked the male nurse multiple times if we could get discharged sooner since the results were negative, IV was completed AND my elderly parents were tired & hungry, he just shrugged his shoulders and said he would let the doctor know...which he didn't, he continued to sit at the desk. So we sat around for another hour before the doctor came back. They did a bunch of tests (I think some unnecessary), so it'll be interesting to see how this visit to the ER gets billed. What a freaking racket! It's not about healthcare or care of people anymore...it's ALL about $$$$. What's the purpose of going to the ER when the doctors/nurses don't have a sense of urgency.

Very nice hospital. My father is in the rehab portion. He is getting fantastic care. The lead nurse is fantastic, spends time cluing you in on the important information without boring me to death with stuff that only Drs understand. Very clean, not your typical cold hospital feeling. All in all if dad's gonna get better this is where it'll happen. 10 outta 10 *s as far as I'm concerned

I was only giving it a 2 because of the amazing ultrasound tech named Maria. She was extremely concerned and had an amazing bedside manner to a horrible experience I had yesterday. As well as my intake/registration nurse & the 2 ladies when I checked in at 4 pm. The bad was so drastically bad, that the little rays of positive interactions I had with the staff like: the security guard that was working at 4pm until like 9, my lab techs that took my blood and Joyce (even though I was told she could not give me the name of a nasty nurse), they were still kind even in all the chaos going on yesterday. I got put out of my room, to give my bed to someone else after being there 12 hours, was cursed at by the nurse Patience (and she was rude to me again right before I left/very nasty disposition & extremely unprofessional)....not sure if that was her name because she hid her badge after I requested her name, a lady was walking around peeing and pooped on her self while playing musical chairs in the waiting room and staff treated her very disrespectful instead of getting her help, never having my vitals taken after only one time - my entire time there, nothing never given for pain so I took my own advil from my purse to finally being discarded with no labs done to check my iron (came in for massive bleeding, but was told by the Dr., iron blood work is typically not done in the ER) and having all my results discussed in the waiting room around other patients. Isn't that a violation????? This entire post mentions several violations, not to mention the cleanliness, well lack thereof at a hospital facility. Last but not least, I mentioned no iron reading but showed a hemoglobin of 9.1. In women, it's supposed to be at a 12 or higher. All I could do was cry in utter disappointment because this is why people don't go to the hospital! It's because it's a waste of time and they are selective with whom they help. So hopefully I am able to get help from somewhere reputable because I am praying I make it through the weekend until my doctor sees me. Because, for a medical emergency, it just seems like a hospital, isn't it! Yes, this may be a newer facility, and I understand being busy, short staffed......all.of that, but stay away if you can!!! Please trust me and stay far far far away. The new Laurel Hospital is only 10 minutes away. I wish I had made that decision instead of coming to Adventist White Oak ER. Also told them due to family medical history hormones was not an option due to blood clots and me not knowing until my primary care appointment, this hospital gave me a hormone anyway!!!!!! *fyi, only giving timelines, so if you really care about the review and you own this facility, you can see the cameras around 8pm when the issues happend in the main waiting room when I was cursed at and the other waiting room around 1, when i was put out my room to sit in that lobby/waiting area until the Dr. came to give me my results (2:30 or so) you can see who was on staff, so you can know who I was talking about on staff that day from 4pm 10.5 - 3 am 10.6.23.but I know better next time.

There was no one in the emergency room when we arrived. Took 6 hours for a nurse to do 5 stitches. Go anywhere else. You’re better off having a medical emergency in a desert than this hospital. On the bright side McDonalds is open nearby and provides service in a reasonable time frame. But seriously anywhere else.

Do not come to this hospital if you wanna be healed. They don’t heal you they just calm you down, laugh in your face and send you home to be sick again. I went to the ER TWO days in a row because they decided to discharge me early the first day while I was still sick and vomiting claiming they were “busy” I went home still sick and went back the next day to wait 7 hours in the ER again just to be seen for 3 hours. I told them I needed to stay longer and that they needed to monitor me till the next day but no. We are busy. IF YOU ARE BUSY AND YOU DONT HAVE BEDS WHY DID YOU MAKE ME WAIT 7 hours????? Tell me to go somewhere else or is that so hard? Also some nurses were rude to me and that iv guy doesn’t even know how to put an IV in I kept bleeding they gave up and took it out and said oh I don’t need it. What does that even mean???I don’t even know what to say anymore. How are you even open? The nurse even refused to give me a blanket. I ….. I am speechless.

Yesterday I had the displeasure of going to the White Oak emergency room. I was in acute pain from a kidney stone. The employees completely disregarded my condition and proceeded to see other patients who did not seem to be in any pain. After waiting a while I went to another hospital where my needs were promptly met. I was treated and made pain free until I passed the stone. Obviously your employees are not trained or know the difference between an emergency and a regular visit. I have a history of kidney stones and have been treated at your other facilities but yesterday morning your hospital completely failed in their mission to help patients in excruciating pain. Thumbs up to MedStar.

My daughter tripped on Wednesday at school where she got her lipped chopped off. I took her to this ER @2:30, nobody bothered to look at her cut until 6:30. Fortunately one of the nurse felt pity for my 5 years old and took us inside where a nurse practitioner look at her mouth n suggested stitches. We were put back into the waiting room for another 2 hours and at 8:30 she was started giving stitches. My daughter had 8 stitches in total 3 on her lip and 5 inside her mouth. The whole team was being just ridiculous. They do not care about others time and pain. I understand there were people ahead of us but at least considering her injury, they could have looked at her a bit earlier or given her some pain killer. not a place of help

Was having oblation surgery on my heart. The staff there were very pleasant and professional. They made the whole experience pleasant and comforting. I've been in the waiting room since 9am. This hospital staff is super slow. No sense of Urgency. It's 1pm now. I'll update as time goes on. Guess I should have read the reviews first. Would not recommend. Its now 4pm. I'm still waiting for a CAT scan with 5 other people. I am tired and starving at this point having not eaten all day.

I brought my mother to the ER and had such a great experience. The entire staff from check in to Triage was great. The service was very quick less than 3 hour. The nurse Ben worked on my mother’s arm and Dr. Monroe was very pleasant. The patient rep spoke to us about the care process.

I am absolutely disappointed and upset in regard the poor patient service I received at this hospital. My son and I were there 9 hours and they took so long to call him to the back then after blood work, X ray and MRI they had us waiting about 5 hour without giving us any feedback. Even patients that came couples hours after us were seen. After I asked the nurse what happened what is the reason she stated that Dr. Forgot the discharge documents were ready a long time ago. I hope I never have to go back to this hospital. I have a reason to believe they are racism people. If I could give them 00 starts I would.

We had such an amazing and unforgettable time at White Oak Medical Center. We felt like we were in a hotel room enjoying our stay. The doctors and nurses were all professional and really show they care. They went up and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable.I love nurse Ada, Yuri, and an older tall lady- whose name I cannot remember. Ms Ada is so sweet, gentle and very informative. Questions and concerns were all taken care of. The food was so delicious and on time, room was cleaned regularly. I highly recommend White Oak Medical Center and their amazing staff.❤️

Went to this hospital because it is near to Our home. I have a lot to say.. THERE IS NO URGENCY for Your emergency. If you chose to come, bring a bag lunch/dinner and snacks. It’s a 1/day waiting period and you will be very exhausted, tired and hungry by the time you leave. This Hospital is really understaff and the staff are over worked.

My mother had open heart valve replacement on Feb 6 and was hospitalized for 4 days after. The care we received from Dr. Prescher, the NPs, nurses, techs, patient navigators and custodial/housekeeping were exemplary! This hospital is like no other we've ever encountered. The staff all get along just like family. We especially noticed the courtesy that was extended between each other and our family. Some of the hospital staff that cared for my mom include: Dr. Prescher, Dr. Massimiano, Tigist, Lara, Shelley, Aster, Jeremiah, Alena, Pooja, Gabby, Yvette, Tess, Janelle Luverne, Su Seh, Beth, Musu, Venecia, Jason, Lewy, Kadie, and Vinny. I hope I didn't leave anyone out. These people made my mom's surgery and recovery a success. Each and every one of them are truly angels without wings. You won't find a more compassionate and capable group of people.

This is a failing hospital. 13 for stroke or heart attack patience is way too long. The nurses are doing the best they can but can only do so much. I will NEVER return to this hospital this is so inhumane. Called and shared with in charge with her.. she blew it off like it was okay or appropriate. If you want to heal don’t come here!!!!

In my opinion, I would be scared to be in your care if it were an emergency. You’re the type of hospital where people go to die if they wanted to die. My experience at your hospital was the most uncomfortable, unsafe, and frightening experience and what’s worse is you would never know until you come into the er. While the exterior of the hospital is gorgeous, you spent more time on the pay to park parking garage, and your obnoxiously spacious lobby. Why is it that the front of the building is so spacious and inviting, but the sick have to be cramped into a space, one on top of the other. How can the spread of a cold be prevented in a small space full of sick patients. Where is the training in your staff. The way they stand over and talk over patients is beyond me, and a patient was told to walk to the nurse. The patient physically had to get up out of her wheelchair and walk to an already moving nurse. Where is compassion? Do you all not understand what it means to be a hospital. How can you look the part and treat people so cruel. How about how your nurses allowed a man to leave with a needle in his arm, and then when you realized I was standing their overhearing the conversation, you started speaking a different language. What foundation did you build your hospital on. Your hospital is called Adventist, a biblical name based on the holy scriptures. Jesus laid out the way you should treat people and take care of people. Jesus the great physician and you tarnish his teaching with your cruelty towards people that are sick and need healing. The size of your E.R, the lack of compassion for the sick. Why are you called a hospital.

I have a C-section at first they couldn't find my veins to draw blood and give me serum, they stung me 12 times without success, they even burst a vein, they had to call the anesthesiologist and he was able to do it the first time, during my recovery I didn't have a nurse to take care of me when I really need them, pressing the button for help was not an option since they always came to help me reluctantly, and making my questions or requests look absurd, only 2 of the almost 10 nurses I had were understandable. with me since I am a first-time mother, but it is incredible how incomprehensible they are in matters of breastfeeding in a cesarean section. I felt pressured and they made me feel more and more guilty because I was not getting milk. On the 4th day, 2 stitches from the cesarean section broke, but they discharged me. I really regret choosing this hospital to have my baby.

Worst experience ever! Took my friend to the ER and we had to wait for 12 hours for a doctor to take a look at her and the staff couldn't care less, this is the worst experience I've ever had in my life. What's the point of an emergency room? If you need to wait 12 hours?!

I went to the ER and had an outstanding experience. Everyone was kind, professional and thorough. I was placed in observation and left a few days later in much better shape. I would not say the care was expedient but I wasn't looking for that. I was looking for thorough and professional and that's exactly what I received along with a dose of genuine care. I noticed and appreciated the calmness of the environment and the staff.

I'll always remember the night shift staff especially the PA-C who knew exactly what to do for me & I TRULY THANK GOD FOR ALL OF YOU !!!!

If I could give a zero. Horrible wait time . Going on 9hrs and still in the wait room. The front desk representative was very rude and even violated my husband HIPPA privacy. This is definitely the last time I will visit this hospital. They have been taking other patients that’s have been here lessor time and less severe conditions. The only way you will be seen quickly is if you have a family member working here.

Honestly if I chould give a zero I whould. I was hit by a car and I spent 2 whole days sitting in extreme pain waiting in the emergency room I understand that they were busy but they could've atleast offered me a pack of ice not only that but it was cold and I was shivering until I had to get up myself and ask for a blanket and yet I had to wait hours for them to provide me with one it wasn't till 8 AM the next morning where they took me to a room where they asked me some questions in which I was uncomfortable being asked. It scared me and made me feel sad when I saw mothers crying while stroking there child's hair as there child whould cry themselves to sleep. Do better in the comfort of you patients.

I went to this hospital at around 2pm for an issue with my eyes, I know Fridays can be very busy so I waited patiently. But after sitting there for 8 hours after registering and triage..enough was enough so I asked the front desk staff what the wait time was for me and was told that there was 2 people in front of me another hour goes by and I asked again, only to receive the same answer. So finally the front desk calls my name, I get up and go to the desk only for the lady at the desk to say oh sorry it's not you..it's not your turn, the lady at the front desk was rude and began getting loud when she was asked about why I was called and was told that it wasn't me. My hippa law was violated when she began telling other patients why I was there, after that I sat back down and continued to wait and asked again how many people were still in front of me and was again told 2 people, all this as I'm watching people that came in after me get called back before me, so for the last time at hour 10 and half I was told that my name was first on the list and you should be called shortly and again at least 4 people got called back before me. At that point I just couldn't take it any longer and decided to leave. The hospital staff are rude and very non attentive minus the security guard who was doing a much better job reassuring patients and at least trying to comfort them the best he could. If you have an emergency I recommend that you go elsewhere otherwise be prepared to be sitting in the waiting room all day and night and when you finally get called back for a room, expect to be standing in the hallway waiting to be seen for many more hours

The Rehab facility and every one of its staff...Nurses, doctors, therapists, techs...Amazing, dedicated people. They were more than just excellent at their professions. They were deeply caring people. I was lucky to be transfered there from Georgetown, so I can't rate the hospital there. But the Rehab was fantastic. Even the food was good! I can't imagine any place being better. I was there in November 2022.

Was the best of the best in Tacoma Park. Should be a model for ERs everywhere. So how could they go from best to worst? Imo, only if you are going to the ER to die, not get care. If I could give them a negative 100 I would. I would never go there again without a patient advocate. Check your discharge papers BEFORE you leave for accuracy and completeness. Good luck trying to get it afterwards. I spent over 5 phone calls and hours on hold only to be told by their lab, who had the values that were missing in my medical record, and indicative of a blood clot, that the lab is a subcontractor and could not send test results to the address of record or get my medical records updated to be accurate and complete. On two occasions I was misdiagnosed and released after 9+ hours as fine when critically ill. Both times left in an unmonitored room for hours with with a high fever with no pain meds, no water, IV, blanket or bedpan. Once with COVID, and once with CHF symptoms. Oh, and once with a hemorrhage and bleeding onto the floor, told that the wait was 5 hours and sat in waiting room to sit on a pad. Yeah. Really. Almost comical if your life isn't at stake. Left and went to another ER where surgery was required to stop the bleeding.

I was here for 6 hours I came to the emergency room. I had to ask for updates only to be discharge with no solution and no results. I was often the only person in the waiting room so it wasn't busy. It's a shame I nice new shiny hospital complete waste of half a day. Before I came I wondered why the ratings are so low now I see why.

My husband and i had to wait 6 hours before he was seen by a PA. They gave him meds 6 hours later after being in excruciating pain. The care he got was really great but the problem was the lack of staff and long wait hours.

Labor/delivery team was amazing and so was mother/baby. This is the place to have your baby! They were so attentive and caring. The only complaint I have is that I wasn’t able to take home a baby blanket for memorabilia. Other than that their care was unmatched! Special shout out to Ada who took extra good care of me and my baby in mother/baby unit :)

Chances are you’ll die just waiting to be seen in the ER. I went in for a life threatening emergency twice the first time I left and went to another ER the wait was so long. The 2nd time I couldn’t even walk and they left me in a chair in the waiting room for 8 hr after telling me I may need emergency surgery. I was to afraid to leave that time but I wish I had. This hospital doesn’t feel safe nor do they care about quality of care. 1 ED doctor for the entire department on a Friday. This hospital doesn’t care about patients, their only concern is payment

I only gave one star because it wouldn't let me proceed with zero stars. This is literally the WORST hospital/ER I have ever been to. People were sitting in the waiting room vomitting, crying, in so much pain, and the staff had absolutely NO COMPASSION whatsoever. They are short on wheelchairs, so they made the people in pain who can barely stand or walk, get up, so they could use it on people who could CLEARLY walk. IF you are having an emergency, please DO NOT come to this hospital and think you will be helped. My husband literally thought he was paralyzed, he couldn't walk or stand, he was in so much pain, and they were RUDE and unhelpful. We waited for 8 HOURS to finally be called back, and no rooms were available. They stated they were prioritizing critical patients, I couldn't tell. The outside of the hospital looks nice, but don't be fooled. The way these nurses stand over you and talk to you is absurd. Not to mention, the space is too small in the waiting room, and sick people are literally on top of eachother. ALSO, while switching wheelchairs between sick people, I saw not ONE wheelchair be wiped down, this spreads viruses and illnesses. As a nurse, you should know that. ALSO, I watched a nurse go from one patient to the next WITHOUT changing her GLOVES!!!!! HELLO!!!!!! ..AGAIN, as a nurse, you know better. These nurses have no compassion at all, this is just a job for them. Whoever is the is running this hospital, you need to do better, otherwise, shut it down!!!!!!!

ZERO stars. By far the worst hospital I've ever been to. We have been waiting 7 hours after having blood work. No one has shared any information, and it is chaos in the ER. Plus, parking is ridiculous, with very few spots near the ER and a parking garage that you have to put for. Where is the money going that comes from that parking? Definitely not to the services provided by this hospital. It should be shut down and the money given to an organization that can provide the care that is necessary for the community.

I came to the emergency room for a car accident at 12 am, it's 6 in the morning and they didn't tell me anything, they just gave me a regular one and that's all, terrible service, terrible service here, they let people die.

Worst hospital, worst staff and worst experience in my life. The nurse was trying to argue with me as I was telling him my son symptoms. Totally disregarded me and had an attitude, then after told me that I'll be waiting 5 hours to see a doctor anyway. I wanted to punch him in the mouth. Trash staff for such a new facility

  • 2/5 Sharon R. 2 years ago on Google
Although, the aesthetics may attract one to seek care at this facility since it is new, I cannot recommend choosing it if given a choice. I have a family member who was admitted in January for COVID and again less than 2 weeks later (after discharge from the ACS, quarantine hospital). He is still hospitalized. Communication from staff and providers' is minimal and family have to assert for information, updates, and advise on care. Sometimes the providers place orders that we find were not carried out. We know this because, when we follow up and inquire we have found the order has not been followed or was delayed being started. Basics such as nutrition is overlooked and food is forgotten to be delivered. Patient's granddaughter is a provider at another local hospital. I am a nurse who lives on the West Coast. Together we collaborate to review care in the best interest of our beloved. I have made two attempts to reach a representative for the patient portal leaving messages without any call back. I have now tried to reach the "Patient Representative" department three times. Today, was the third message left and I have sent an email through "Contact Us". Each time I have called the main line I am kept on hold for long periods of time while the person on the line looks for the department number to call. I do not have confidence that those I have spoken with know how to do their job or have the tools to do their work. I understand systems are working without and are under a tremendous amount of stress. I get it, I do it for a living. This infrastructure must embrace change if it wants to survive. I would appreciate a response.

I have moderate asthma and I have seen plenty of ER's in my adult life. I feel so blessed to have this place within 5 minutes from my house. The wait times can be slow because they are thorough. And they triage appropriately.

This is my second time at this hospital. I was here last week for a medical procedure and seen again today in the ED. I love this hospital. It’s clean and updated. All the staff are very helpful and professional. If it werent so far from my home, this would be my #1 hospital of choice! Also, their chicken salad sandwiches are delicious!!

Was rushed to emergency on 4.29.23 in excruciating pain. Turned out I had an hemorrhagic cyst and torsion of my right ovary. Every person with whom I interacted treated me with such care and compassion that I am still in awe. Both on the night shift as well as the AM. From the securities, the nurses who ran my labs (I was in so much pain so do forgive me for not remembering all the names), the wonderful professionals who administered my CT scan (your mom Debbie did an amazing job!!!)and ultrasounds, my porter Jerome, my talented and amazingly wonderful surgeon Dr. Silva (my apologies if the spelling is incorrect), my nurse who gracefully prepped me for surgery, my two anesthesiologists Dr. Lockheart and her mentor. (Again do forgive me for not remembering all the names). Needless to say each and everyone one of you who was on my team provided exceptional care in a way that I will remember as long as I live. Under challenging circumstances, you each turn up with grace and compassion and incredible skill to save lives while easing the stress and anxiety of your patients that comes with being ill. Thank you all wholeheartedly for the care you each provided and for being the kind of human beings that you are. Simply amazing......... May God continue to bless and keep each of you!!

I don't even have the words to express the indignation of the poor care in this hospital, starting with the lousy staff without a heart, without understanding what the patient feels is inhumane. My father had an accident at work with an injury to his left leg from 1 in the afternoon until 7pm without having an answer to anything without asking if he was okay if he had any injuries. or something so that they discharge him at 11pm with his leg with a broken bone in excruciating pain and say that they are not qualified to treat a fracture and that is why they cannot treat it, it is really terrible, they could have done it before but the excuse was that They couldn't do more. It is supposed that in an emergency hospital it is to help the needs of each patient with the greatest excellence, something that this hospital does not know.

Very bad wait times! Nurses and techs walk with absolutely no urgency! Me and my partner left after the 6th hour of waiting! Right before we left, I tried to speak with a nurse, but on one ever came out to speak with me! My partner was so frustrated at the wait that he decided to leave! It’s sad that the wait pushes people to leave before any care is given. I saw a minor throw up in front of the nurses in the waiting room and they didn’t call her back until 6hours later! The girl literally began to feel better during the wait time with no assistance from any nurse or tech or employee! Honestly, she was better of staying home and letting the illness pass because nothing was done on the Adventist side ! How sad is that!? Healthcare is going down! There was an elderly man with HEART PAIN who had been waiting 6+ hours! That’s insane! HEART pain is suppose to take priority but all the front desk did was brush of the elderly man’s aid whenever they went to ask how much longer! The service, the care, the compassion l, the urgency is non existent! I work in healthcare myself so I know the back end and front end of this field. I’m so frustrated that we did not receive care or any intent from the facility to get any service or care done! Imagine how many people leave with illness and all the front desk can say is “wait your turn”. There is no order as to who gets called back! When we were leaving the security did say there was 8 people ahead of us which was crazy because everyone who had come in before us had been called back so they were putting my partner last to be seen even after people who came in after us! I will never be returning to Adventist white oak ever! Like I said, I work in healthcare and this was the worst experience ever, and I’ve seen a plethora of facilities, so this says a lot. Unfortunately like I said my partner was never seen and if any illness happens, I make this facility liable! I’ve also received many emails to work for this company, but now will never even entertain any email from here! I can’t even describe my frustration with the entire experience of this place! I had heard bad things about here but decided to ignore it due to my partners pain, but now I see what they were talking about! Someone needs to be held accountable and do something about the terrible service and order of this place!

I called up there about 5 AM asking about my father who was rushed there from an ambulance and the ambulance is called it was 2:40 in the morning. The nurse had an attitude and was disrespectful and that he just arrived and he was breathing, but didn’t give me much more information than that my sister called. They gave her a little bit more information and told her to call back later and that he wasn’t admitted yet they had him waiting for a room, I just called up there again Around eight in the morning, and the nurse I spoke to was a dude who was very unprofessional and disrespectful, and I asked about my father gave him the name the date of birth and was asking was he OK the nurse then turned around and has a snippy tone And asked me who I am, so I told him my father’s daughter, and I am the one who found him. He still continually had an attitude and told me that they have yet to decide if they’re going to admit him and that he’s not even in a room he still being monitored, and has yet to see the doctor probably and to call back later. It is sad when you have someone who is in clearly emotional distress, who is trying to figure out what’s going on with her father And have spoken to disrespectful, unprofessional nurses back to back please do better and train your nurses and your staff on how to speak to patients and their loved ones when Calling to check up on the patient

While sitting in the emergency room I took the time to read the reviews as I have never been to this hospital before as I am new to the area and I became concerned as my mother is a senior citizen and so often their concerns are over looked. First, I would like to say that everyone that I have encountered during the visit was very pleasant and helpful. Nurse Eugenia..( I think they called her geni) and her staff did the absolute best they could as there was so much happening all at the same time. While there was some wait time the ER staff made it their business to make sure my mother and I were comfortable. It was cold; and honestly, I was beginning to get discouraged and wondered what in the world was taking so long! Yes, the wait was LONG, however the ER was FULL when we arrived in the ambulance and the people kept coming. Once I did see the doctor regarding my mothers incident Dr. Schuster answered EVERY question and provided easy to follow directions on what would be the next steps. Sadly, she was admitted as her care requires more time and attention. The level of care and compassion did not stop in the ER the staff that works the floor that she is currently on has been just as attentive to the needs of my mom and our family. While she has not been released and things could change. I wanted to take the time to write a review of my experience as it’s always so easy to get on social media and speak negatively. Our healthcare journey is still in the beginning stages but Kudos to the staff White Oak for navigating one of the worlds noblest professions.

I am a CHILD patient here, I have been here in the ER for the past 4 hours, with the most terrible pain I have ever experienced in my life. I have never thrown up more. The staff have done nothing but talk about what happened over the weekend. It’s fine if you have a break. But for 4 hours?? I was supposed to get a scan of some sort and my blood results but I have gotten nothing. The only thing good about this place was the very kind Hispanic lady that took my blood. Do better, this is the ER, not my yearly checkup. Update; the staff working at 8:30 are so much better, they are actually helping me now.

I waited over 6 hours in the emergency room for a room the star had no urgency to help us. My mom was in so much pain, and we got prescribed an over-the-counter medication. I will never come here again. I’ll never recommend anyone here. My mom went to another hospital the next day. Thanks Adventist hospital in white oak.

We waited over 16 hrs, and didn't get any service yet. I never had such a horrible experience in my entire life. It feels like, this is only the new building that accommodate for few not for general public. I saw many patients leave with out having treated their painful illness.

When I came to the ER they told me it could be a 6 or 7 hour wait. Well I thought it was the worst case scenario but it's not. I've been here for more than 7 hours still waiting in the waiting room. Outrageous and they need to do better. Not sure what the problem is but they need to fix it.

Please, if you have someone who is sick, don't take them to this hospital, it's no use, they make you wait for like 6 hours and in the end you decide to go somewhere else and they don't care about the bad care. Please mom, if you have babies, don't take them to this hospital. worst

My Care at the radiation oncology center last week was absolutely the best experience I could ever hope for! Everyone was caring and respectful! Services were extremely efficient time was utilized to the max and the facility was absolutely calming and lovely it couldn't have been a nicer experience all around Dr Chandra , Maya, Danielle, Jolice, Evelyn and Alma couldn't have been nicer!! I will recommend this facility to anyone who asks me! And I have already put in a commendation with Kaiser since they are the ones who sent me to this facility. Thanks again to all those who helped me there!

I went there for primary care appointment since they couldn’t fit me in sooner at the other location. I was told I could see one doctor the next day then they cancel me the day of my appointment and told me that the doctor will not coming to the office. I rescheduled to the following week but I had to reschedule again since my appointment was fall on the day that we had snow storm. I got to schedule again a week after. I finally able to make it to my appointment, but got to the office 10 minutes late and they refused to see me which I understood it could be their late appointment policy. The staff told me that they have to cancel my appointment and stated that “you should not be here anyway, you primary care doctor is at another location”. Her statement left me speechless. It was not my intention to come here, but I was told by whoever scheduled me to come here so I can get the care I deserved sooner. I still left the place without care. However, it was a whole hassle to get in and staff was very rude. They are not accommodating. This is a place that supposed to provide healthcare and they fail to provide any type of care. Bad management, rude staff. I do not recommend this place. The urgent care near where you live might operate better than this place.
