I
went
in
for
foot
pain.
I
was
not
examined
by
the
doctor
prior
to
getting
x-rays.
The
doctor,
Dr.
Dahlia
E.
Reid,
never
did
a
physical
examination.
She
only
looked
at
her
computer
screen
when
she
came
in,
after
the
x-ready
teach
had
already
taken
x-rays,
and
I
was
never
asked
where
the
pain
was.
She
just
looked
at
the
computer
screen
and
talked
to
me
with
her
back
turned
the
entire
3
minutes
she
was
in
the
room.
Then
she
ordered
an
"air
cast"
for
ankle
pain,
when
the
pain,
bruising,
and
swelling
was
in
the
metatarsals.
When
the
nurse
came
to
put
the
air
cast
on,
I
pointed
out
to
her
that
the
pain
wasn't
in
the
ankle
-
it
was
in
the
foot,
and
the
air
cast
would
do
nothing
to
support
the
foot.
She
talked
to
the
doctor.
Again,
without
even
performing
a
visual
exam
the
Dr.
Reid
told
the
nurse
to
provide
me
a
surgical
shoe
instead
of
an
air
cast.
A
surgical
shoe
provides
no
support
either,
and
is
not
the
stars
of
care
for
a
bruising
and
pain
on
the
top
of
the
foot.
I
was
able
to
access
my
digital
records
(which
is
why
this
is
a
2-star
review
instead
of
a
1-star).
It
turns
out
the
x-ray
tech
took
x-rays
of
the
wrong
part
of
the
foot,
and
the
distal
metatarsals,
which
is
where
the
pain
and
swelling
were,
were
never
on
the
x-ray.
I
don't
blame
the
x-ray
tech
-
she
isn't
a
doctor.
However,
I
don't
think
the
standard
of
care
is
to
allow
x-ray
techs
do
the
initial
exam,
diagnosis
and
ordering.
I
also
don't
think
it's
standard
of
care
for
the
doctor
to
not
perform
a
physical
exam
on
a
patient.
It
makes
you
question
all
the
medical
care
you
get
at
this
location.
