This was our first bad visit. Normally the food and service are both outstanding. Our server this visit was very slow and hard to find. The ketchup on our table was very old and fermenting. I asked for two slices of their sourdough bread and she brought them out frozen in the middle. And the coleslaw tasted off. However, we tried the pretzel loaf for the first time and it was amazing. I asked the server what it was before ordering and she had no idea. This visit isn't going to stop us from going back.

As a first timer, my family and I welcomed us warmly and happily by the owner, Robert. His restuarant/bar is unique for its orginality, atmosphere, and food. I loved their Lobster Mac!! The sauce is to die for. Shout out to Jackie!! Her fun and down-to-earth personality made the experience a whole lot better.💕

Absolutely fantastic food and drink, so much of the menu is made in house and it shows. The classic Mac and cheese is creamy and topped with crunchy potato chip crumbles. The wings are hot and spicy and they have plenty of sauce options. The drinks are strong and well priced. Definitely a must visit when I'm in town

We first went here a few weeks ago and I was so excited about discovering their gluten free menu options as my husband I both have to eat gluten free. I was less than impressed with the service as, after being told to seat ourselves, no one helped us and after 10-15 minutes I flagged someone down to ask for menus. The process of ordering and receiving our food was slow but the food was good and so I passed it off as a one-time fluke. Tonight we decided to go back…however, after being seated it took 10 minutes to get menus, another 10 minutes to get drinks….and then no one ever came back to take our order. People who had come in after us had been eating for at least 5 minutes when we finally got up to leave. I approached the bar to tell the bartender (owner?) that I wanted to pay for our drinks, as we were leaving because we’d been waiting well over a half hour and no one had even taken our order yet. He wouldn’t make eye contact with me and waved me off mumbling something about the drinks were on the house. There was no apology for poor service, no offer to take our order and get it up from the kitchen quickly - nothing. Just waved me off. We will not be back, which sucks for them because if we had been impressed with all the various gluten free menu items we likely would have turned into weekly / regular customers

UPDATE: June 15, 2023 Thursday is Bingo night - who knew? so we ate and played bingo...the proceeds went to a charity so a child could go to a brewer game (includes a hot dog and soda) Our server was MIA several times - as she was out smoking, then came to our table wreaking of smoke, took wayyyy to long to wait for drinks, to go boxes and the bill Food was good, our pizza was just a tad over cooked though Spinach dip was delish as always UPDATE: November 2021: Had a new server this time - Nadine - she was GREAT!!! loved her! Pleasantly surprised that this time the spinach dip (and fresh pita chips) was really good, however, the sauce for the pizza was spicy and there was a ton of it...we only ate two pieces from a large! We'll give em another try and hope for the best August 4th 2019: our food was much better than our previous experience. Our server (Kimberly) was polite, however, she added a 20% tip on my bill - for a party of two! and I didnt notice it, and had already gave her a cash tip - now, wouldnt you say to the customer "oh, I already added 20%" ?? That part really upset me. So she ended up with a $14 tip for a $32 bill we def. have had much better experience in the past - tonight, not so much. Spinach and artichoke dip had an "off" smell, bitter-sour smell and had a horrible taste - and its something we get every time, so i know how it should taste. pizza was great - but cooled off too fast due to ceiling fans and what I really didnt like, is that the employee's FULL name appears on the receipt - when i mentioned this to my server, they said that they have told management/owner that they dont like that (twice) and it still hasnt gotten dealt with

My experience here was simply incredible! I had ordered a bowl of macaroni and a old fashioned and the owner came out and made the alcohol and cheese by hand! He pulled this shutter up from the floor where he started brewing the brandy by hand. Then he opened a door just off to the left of the bar and I saw a portal to another dimension where he had a farm with fresh wheat! I watched as he cut said wheat and started making the flour by hand. I sat in awe as he made the beautiful lengths of uncooked pasta, of which he boiled on a stone campfire conveniently placed in the middle of the bar. Suddenly, a group of Native American tribes man came out and started chanting ritualistically. It was amazing! After a few minutes of this, the owner got up and went over to the freshly brewed brandy and served me my old fashioned. It was a bit weird since the brandy wasn’t aged but I really liked it! After the owner finished my drink he turned back around to assist the Native Americans with straining my pasta. It was so fresh and steamy. I was really impressed. The owner then finished the dish with this creamy sauce from his kitchen that tasted like it was made by angels. And to top it off, he sprinkled potato chips on my macaroni, finishing a meal made for god himself. 10/10, if I could give it a higher rating I would. Best meal and old fashioned of my life.

This a very solid bar and grill. My French Onion Soup and ham and cheese were both good but not great but certainly worth what they charged. The hand cut fries were very welcome. The beer was very reasonably priced and the bartender very friendly. I wouldn't drive across town for the food but if your looking for a solid meal and drink for a very reasonable pride, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I had not been here in a really long time. Previously, I had visited when it was Roberts. So yes it has gone through a name change and COVID. I know times are challenging but proper hospitality can still be offered. I visited Saturday 5/7/22, approximately at 630pm. Upon entering we were greeted by a "waitress wanted" sign. We hung there for a few minutes, thinking it was a hostess stand. Eventually we walked further into the dinning room, there was a door dash pickup table. We figured maybe that was the hostess stand. There were 2 workers behind the bar and neither said hello at any time. After waiting a few more minutes a guess at a high top table in the bar area said we can just sit anywhere. We grabbed a table and began our wait. After 20 minutes had past without a greeting, I turn to my wife and said I think I'm ready to go if someone doesn't say hi shortly and unfortunately we were greeted within 2 minutes of that comment. Had we not been greeted I would have been spared the worst dining experience of my life. We had 3 drinks 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. It took two and a half hours to serve us all of our items. We were there so long by the time our entrees came out we asked for a to-go box. Otherwise we would have been there another half hour to eat our meal. Do not go unless they get adequate staff that can handle being short-handed or enough bodies to cover up the poor customer experience. The only highlight of the whole experience was the LoDuca wine that was available.

On the Clock Bar & Grill is a nice place for a meal and a beverage. The menu is diverse with many of the new favorites. The beer Tap is modest with most of the usuals. The place represents an old German style beer hall with two dining rooms I could see, one private. Many modern styling were added to hide flaws or old sins. In this day of supply and labor shortages, our service was good and quick. My Ruben was good, but not stellar. It had the feel of being pre-made then heated on a pan without flipping it part the way through... it was a little soggy on the bottom. The Tuna was outstanding! The fries are excellent! Definitely good for a visit.

My husband and I visited Thursday night, which happened to be bingo night(after 7pm). We generally had a great time, and that's the first time we ever did bingo. Our server was very sweet, and often checked with us. Margaritas and Food tasted great. Clean establishment. Prices were reasonable. The staff and atmosphere was very friendly. Overall, I'd definitely come back 10/10. Thank you!

It's a beautiful bar up front and a very pretty restaurant in the back. The service is absolutely amazing, too. The fish fry is in the top five of the area in my opionion, though it's the only place where the potato pancakes are more pancake than potato. Highly recommend giving the place a try. The regulars are especially nice here.

Stopped in on a random day in Milwaukee, we had the sweetest waitress. The food was delicious and tasty. Everything we ordered was fabulous 👌 from the soup to the burgers to the jumbo Mozzarella sticks. We're not from the area but definitely going back for burgers and macaroni !!!!

Had high expectations however, upon arrival was seated in a back room instead of main dining area, felt like being banished. Ordered a simple wrap and received wrong order, fish was just bland and "fishy". Waitress offered to make good, however I would suggest skipping this place, so many better places in Milwaukee to try

Potato pancakes were not fully cooked! My COD Fish fry was soggy & not much flavor. Horrible bar coke - not sure what they use. Which makes not such great cocktails. My final gripe was refilled ketchup bottles with a bitter off brand. Positives- awesome homemade French fries & a sweet waitress. We definitely won't be back. We went because it's a neighborhood location & reviews said it was an amazing fish fry! On to our next neighborhood location

My family came in on a Sunday for dinner about 3. We came in as a server was talking to the rest of our party and walked away as we were seated and continued a 5 minute wait for our drink order. After we placed our food order it took about 40 minutes for our food. We were a party of five but only table seated at the time. We Asked what was taking so long and the bartender was very rude and yelled that they had a lot of tickets and three guys back there. Then he walked in the kitchen and magically our food came out. I personally asked if the veggie burger was black bean as I do not like, and would choose something else if so. My waitress told me it wasn't, but when I ate it very obviously was. My sister also asked for a gluten free bun and our server expressed no concern in asking if she had an allergy. Usually I try not to judge as I work in a restaurant as well, but I just felt this was unacceptable. And will not return.

Visited this establishment on Friday March 3rd. A recent review article had named their Friday Fish Fry as one of the top fish fries in the area. So I decided to give it a try. This is not a large establishment. I would have to guess there are about 2 dozen tables at the most, plus the bar. It is a beautiful place, lots of old charm. I called on Tuesday to make a reservation but was told that for 2 people they do not do that. I was told we would be able to get a drink and get a table relatively soon and their turn around is pretty quick. Upon arriving, it is unclear where you are suppose to go to let them know you are there to eat. Eventually (after about 10 to 15 minutes) one of the staff asked me if I was going to need a table. I said yes, a table for 2. She said it would be a few minutes but she would get us a table soon. I went to the bar to order drinks while we wait. I stood at the bar for another 10 minutes at least before the bar tender even acknowledged that I was there. She asked if I needed a drink. I said yes. For the next 5 or 6 minutes, she went ahead and took care of other people at the bar, stopping to chat with a couple at the other end, and eventually got to me. I ordered 2 whiskey old fashions. I took the drinks and gave one to my guest. We stood about another 20 minutes before getting a table. We sat down and I looked at my watch. It was 7:42 PM. It took another 10 minutes before someone came and took our order. At 8:53 PM we got our food. (There was a table of 4 that was very annoyed at how long the food was taking, and I know another table of 2 left without eating.) Now here's the thing. The fish, coleslaw, and tar tar sauce was actually very good, - but that was about it. The drinks we had gotten were incredibly weak. We weren't really sure if there was any whiskey in them. I had fries with my dinner. I think they were made right away and then sat while the rest was done because they were cold and limp. My guest said the potato pancakes had no real flavor. Overall not a great experience.

First time going in after ordering for my husband off of door dash from Canada and I got to say that this place was amazing. I'm so happy to have gotten the opportunity to visit in person. Not disappointed at all. Food was great, service was amazing and the experience was just fantastic. Keep up the great work. Will definitely be recommending this place for sure! 😊❤️

Place was really cool and close to my hotel. Was a little divey which was a good change of pace from the regular chain restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place and will hit it up again when I'm passing through Milwaukee.

We ate here for the 2nd time last night, and the burgers were again fantastic! The staff is extremely friendly and fast. The restaurant is in a beautiful, older building that has a lot of character and it is very clean.

Finally found a restaurant with a gluten free breaded fish fry for my husband. He said it was great! He’s looking forward to trying some of the other gluten free options. The rest of the family had the breaded fish fries. Great tasting and nice portion. Cole slaw and tarter sauce are spot on!

On the Clock Bar & Grill's Friday Fish Fry offers a few home runs, a few hits, and couple of strike outs: Fantastic - Fried Shrimp Very Good - Cod Fried & Baked, Fried Walleye, Coleslaw Good - Fries Bad - Fried Perch (Very Thin Dry Fish and Over salted) Very Bad - Potato Pancakes (Over salted to the point of being inedible which is a shame given the flavor is good until you're smashed in the mouth with a salt bat) Average Value and Decent Overall Service. 3.5 (5.0)
