Great hotel in the heart of the Bronx! Very new, very clean, service was great! Room had everything I needed. If Iโ€™m visiting the Bronx this is the hotel Iโ€™ll be staying at and recommend others to do the same.

I might be able to rate this 4 stars if the furniture and mattress in the room were not so run down and were in better shape. The mattress was sunken on each side. The furniture shows lots of wear and peeling laminate. The top drawer of the dresser fell off and onto my foot. The bottom drawer had been poorly repaired to reattach the drawer. The shower had really good water pressure but there is a half glass door that allows water to spray all over the floor. There are large bottle pans shampoo and conditioner. My shower had two bottles of shampoo and no body wash. The lobby area has lots of nice private places to hang out. I was given two bottles of water as welcome amenity. Parking is limited. Sometimes hard to find a spot.

I stayed at this hotel at the end of March, going into April. I grew up in the Bronx, and while visiting family, I wanted a clean and safe hotel close by family and friends. I researched other Bronx hotels, and this one looked to be in the safest looking neighborhoods. I liked that I was able to get a 2 bedroom apartment style suite for myself and my young adult daughter. The chain had similar hotels in New Rochelle and NJ for cheaper rates, and since I wasn't driving, I would have probably spent more on Uber to get around so the Bronx was the best option. I loved the space, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the suite had two bathrooms. One in the ensuite in the master bedroom with the king bed and another adjacent to the other bedroom with the queen bed. The master bathroom was spacious with a walk-in shower. The other bathroom was smaller with a bathtub/ shower combo. A con about the master shower is that it's slippery. There's no grips on the floor tiles in the shower, so you need to be careful when lattering soap on your feet to rinse immediately to avoid possibly slipping. The living room area has a pull out sofa, but I didn't use it. The sofa itself isn't comfortable for long sitting. You could tell which cushions were used more because it was sunken in on one side while the other side was hard. I remedied this by switching the cushions around. The kitchen area was fully stocked with pots, pans, dinnerware, silverware, mixing bowls, colander, linens, coffee pot, and toaster. I went shopping for breakfast items and was able to make breakfast daily. The refrigerator is small but larger than the mini fridge in many hotels. My room was on the top floor, room 800, and we were a couple feet away from the elevator. You can hear everybody and everything, especially in the mornings. There was a family in one of the rooms, and you could hear a loud crying kid and the parent yelling for the kid to shut up every single day. On my 2nd day, I went out to a play, when I came back the bedroom was freezing. I realized that the window was open a little bit. I tried to close the window and realized that the windows can open all the way. This can be a serious hazard if a child figures this out or if a person decides they want to hurt themselves. I called the front desk, and they sent someone up to close the window securely, but I think they should find a way to make it where the window can't open so wide or not. I was scheduled to fly back to Austin early Sunday morning. On Sat afternoon, I received an alert from Delta that my flight was canceled due to severe weather. The front desk crew was amazing. I needed to book an additional day. I didn't want to pay the rate for the 2 bedroom for just one more day not knowing if the airline would reimburse me so I asked to book one more day on the cheapest room which would be a studio. They accommodated me, and the next day, as I was preparing to move into the smaller room, they called me and told me that I could stay in the larger room. I am totally appreciative and grateful. Since I also had to get a new flight, which was now scheduled later on Monday, I requested a late checkout. I was charged 100$ since I was technically still in the 2 bedrooms, but I didn't mind. They helped me to be comfortable during my stay. On Monday, check out is usually 12 noon, but it seems they didn't alert the new front desk clerk or housekeeping, so they kept calling me, asking me when was I checking out. I told them to check my bill bc I definitely had the bill that showed they charged extra for the late stay. I was checking out at 3 pm. Overall, my experience was above my original expectations. Many other hotels in the Bronx don't look too clean or safe. While it isn't far from local restaurants and stores, the blocks aren't easy to walk. There's limited sidewalks. If you drive, you won't have any issues. If you order food, they leave it downstairs for you to pick up. If I come back to visit, this will be my go-to hotel. I have already started recommending it to family and friends.

Pros: Got the Sunday rate which was super cheap for NY - $168 I think. Front desk person at check in was amazing. Lobby was lovely. Rooms were spacious and had all the necessities. Price included breakfast. Stores luggage after checkout at no cost. Cons: The sofa bed and Sofa were so worn & dipped in the center. Several of the plugs were loose/didn't work. The carpet was a little sticky in one spot. quite a few of the furniture pieces needed a good scrub down. housekeeping was knocking on our door at 9:15 to see what time we are checking out today- when we checked in after midnight last night - Maybe just go with the official check out time of noon. For the money, I would stay here if there were just 2 of us and/or no one had to sleep on the sofa bed. & I won't forget to hang the do not disturb sign no matter how late we get in.

My family stays here for the holidays and Iโ€™ve stayed there a few times on my own. I love it here and think itโ€™s a great addition to the neighborhood! You walk in and it smells like the white tea & sage scent from bath and body works. Itโ€™s beautifully lit, the lobby has a lot seating and the staff are friendly. I like their continental breakfast and their room service is polite and friendly. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Iโ€™ll always recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Bronx.

Just wanted to share how great my stay was here. Primarily, because of a select few members of the staff, who were incredibly kind and helpful in lots of ways. The room was spacious and cozy and the breakfast is great! However, a shining star of our stay here was Donisha, the Breakfast Attendant who checked in on us, remembered personal details about us and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and helped/cared for. She went the extra mile and I'm glad to have had the experience I did at this Residence Inn. It's been about a week since I stayed here and am currently at a different hotel that is not nearly as great as this one. I highly recommend it if you need to stay in the area.

This was a business stay. Room was well appointed, comfortable with a full living area and kitchenette. They offer a grocery pick-up service which was very useful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hot breakfasts were hearty, offered a pretty good variety of options, and plentiful despite full occupancy the week I was there. If I travel to this area again for work, will definitely stay here.

I stayed for one night on a work trip. I was very impressed with this location. Everyone was super nice and I was upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite. I didn't really need that as a single traveler for one night, but it was really nice. Something I saw here that was unique was the front desk has some fragrance sticks in bags for people to take. It had the air freshener that was used in the lobby. It was also nice that the hotel had free parking which is rare in NYC.

The staff are wonder. They are friendly and give enough space to be me. The accommodations are comfortable. The bed is dreamy with a swivel TV that serves the living room and bedroom areas. The kitchenette has plates, pots, pans, silverware, 2 burner stovetop, cookware, bowls, microstove, and refrigerator. I lived there for 10 days while working in the Bronx and was very comfortable. The WiFi works great, too.

This has been my second time staying here. First time was during Covid about 2 years ago. I booked over this passed weekend expecting another great stay which actually turned around to be fulfilled until today, 3 days later after check out. The reviews about reimbursements, unauthorized credit/debit card charges BELIEVE THEM. My sister was sitting at the desk which ending up falling down on her knee while she was writing some notes down. I rushed downstairs called the front desk. The manager came apologized, someone came in beginning to fix it back & forth. I was told I would be reimbursed for one night. After being charged for my full weekend after checkout I received that confirmation Monday. Still no refund which is fine it was not a rush for me I understand these things take some days. Today, Wednesday I get charged $488 an additional night with taxes. I only realized that because my phone company sent me a message saying they were unable to complete my automatic monthly phone payment. So I go into my account and see this charge leaving my account negative. I called the back and they confirmed the charge. I call the hotel and the front desk stayed without giving them my card number they canโ€™t proceed etc., although I already stated I have screenshots I can screen record my transaction history and they were still insinuating some bs story without understanding that my bank has confirmed my overcharge payment. I have all my receipts. They transferred me to an accountant and there was no solution after all my trouble and their mistake. This place is such a scam!!!!!! Iโ€™m so disappointed and I will be handling this in a higher manner because this is my damn money. How dare them

It was our daughters wedding. We reserved blocks but some immediate family were saddened when there werenโ€™t enough rooms even though they tried to reserve a room prior to the cutoff date. We reminded them we needed to be at the wedding venue by 4 and they assured us the would have rooms available by 3. Fast forward to 5:30 pm and our suite still wasnโ€™t available. We had an after party there which was amazing and I must admit when we finally entered the room at 11:30 pm it was lovely. If you have a wedding block Susan is the only person you should deal with. She is amazing, and tries to please. I think there is a shortage of staff because the hotels took a hit during Co-vid.

I was skeptical about staying here because of all the bad reviews but it was not bad at all. I visited with my mother who is in a very large wheelchair. I originally booked a regular room but when I wanted to change to an accessible I called the hotel ahead of time to request it. Leann was very courteous and professional and made the switch for me with no problem. Before I arrived at the hotel I checked in on my phone and was able to use my mobile key to go straight to my room that was sent to me via the Marriott Bonvoy app which was very convenient and allowed me to skip the front desk. The room was in pretty good shape. It was clean and very spacious. The location is great and central to everything in the Bronx so my family and I were less than 15 minutes from everything we needed to do. The only reason we didnโ€™t give them 5 stars is because the handheld shower head holder was broken and when I tried to replace it there was a jagged piece of plastic that scraped my finger a little. Nothing to cry about but could easily be replaced. Also due to the nature of the accessible shower the bathroom floor was pretty soaked after showering but again easy enough to just dry with an extra towel. Overall the stay was good and I would stay there again.

Wonderful hotel! Great staff and amenities! Very busy! Located next to Stop n Shop, Subway, a Liquor store, LA Fitness, Dunkin and more. Side note: the train comes through daily and often will lay on itโ€™s horn but that isnโ€™t Marriotts fault.

I stay here every few months for stay-vacations. Nice hotel, nice staff, but it needs to be updated. Furniture looking old, couches\sofa beds sunken in, many rooms have no throw pilllows, problems with wifi, tv, stoves & freezer ice makers not working. No welcome gifts in room anymore, no chocolate in water bags, and community shampoo & conditioner in showers--not very sanitary idea during a pandemic. They also kept falling down from shower wall before we even took showers! And also please, for goodness sakes, get dining chairs in each room with padded bottoms already--the constant screeching noise of everybodys chairs on the floor is so annoying!!! And please update breakfast to have FRESH fruit each day, not leftovers from past 2 days, as well as return of pancakes & french toast & different variety of sandwiches & muffins each day. Its always the same stuff lately. (Not fault of breakfast makers Imsure).Technically its not free considering this is one of the more expensive Marriots in NY. For what this hotel costs for a stay the quality should not be going down. A new onsite restaurant would be nice too.Thank you.

Horrible place. Was very filthy the rooms. Filled with dust and odor. But worst of all my $600 perfume was stolen and my AirPods. I told the front desk and told me there was nothing to do that it was my fault. The only people that make the place better r the cafeteria workers.

The people who work here are engaged and care about what they do. Mariott hasn't invested in keeping this location's infrastructure up to date. I had a 1 br corner suite on top floor. Elevator clanking and out of order on day 2. No safe in room. Televison channels take a long time to load or change. Couch was old and sagging. It was one of the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in, best cleaning crew. Nice and quiet. The whole staff crew really makes the stay. It's not much but what they have they took the best care of it and are proud of.

Keyless check-in not activated until I checked in at the front desk. 20 minutes to get a cart to bring my items from my car. Was given an upgrade and 2 bedroom suite was great, but could use some topical repairs; door in kitchen hanging off hinge, scuff marks on bathroom door, broken toilet paper holder, all small things but easy enough to repair (no excuses for not handling low hanging fruit!). Mattress in pull out couch was completely worn and so thin the springs were poking though. Request for additional pillows, took 2 days to get them. Housekeeping didn't come the day of first request and cane very late the next day. Did an excellent job, once finally got there. Bar area was good and bartender ROCKED. Food was really good and atmosphere was great!

Stay Away!!!!!!!! As the Father of the bride, I had a $600 bottle of Bacarrat perfume stolen during the wedding. The bottle was left (front & center) on the tv stand and by the time we got back from the wedding, the bottle was stolen. To add insult to injury, as we were checking out my younger son left his AirPods on the bed, and those too "could not be found" 20 minutes after checkout. I've been traveling for over 40 years and have never experienced such thievery by a hotel in my life. Extremely disappointed w the Management team who decided to compensate me $70 in points for my stolen items. Stay away or do not leave valuables in your room. Will never check in there again!

I have had nothing but positive experiences at this location and I have stayed several times over the last three years. The staff always goes above and beyond and are also very friendly. For example, this morning at breakfast, Donisha Jordan, was attentive and friendly to all guests. At the end of breakfast hours, she came up to each table to check-in with everyone to ensure they were set before she closed the buffet. Another plus I have always found the restrooms (even the public ones) to be very clean. Highly recommend staying here!
