If I could give this place no stars I would. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I had my mother here for two months and was shocked to see how cold and emotionless most of the staff was. There were one or two workers that really showed compassion but with the majority of the staff I felt like I was bothering them whenever I requested anything for my mother. Towards the end of my mother's stay at this place my mother was having difficulty eating, and she was still getting solid food that she could not chew or swallow. Even though I was only going once or twice a day because I work, I seemed to know more about my mother's needs than the nurses. My mother did not speak English and I often heard from the staff that they could not communicate with her because nobody spoke Spanish. It is my understanding that these facilities are legally responsible to provide translators to better serve their patients. My mother passed away and I was told that I needed to provide them with the name of the funeral home right away not taking into consideration that it was the middle of the night, and I was still processing the loss of my mother. After that phone call I never heard from anyone in that place to even ask if I wanted back my mother's belongings or to offer their condolences. I would think that at a place that cares for the elderly the staff would be more compassionate and caring. Please do not send me your generated response, I do NOT need it.

My dad recently passed away while receiving rehabilitation. His passing was possibly related to Covid-19. Although I am not blaming the staff by any means for my fathers passing, I am disgusted by the lack of compassion when my father passed. I spoke with the social workers at least 2 times a week while my dad was here for 2 months+. Once my dad passed, I would think I would hear from the social worker. However, NOT A WORD! In addition, the day my dad passed, my brother called to find out exactly what happened. My brother was transferred to 5 different people and then hung up on! All we wanted to know was what happened to my father!! I will not recommend this facility to anyone! If you work in health care you need to have compassion and that is definitely not something you will receive here!

This place should be renamed Care None. What goes on in there is the stuff horror movies are made of. If you're looking to leave your loved ones in a nursing home that should be located in Hell, then look no further. This is a place where people come for rehabilitation but end up becoming more debilitated! It is not uncommon for elderly patients to end up lying on the floor for hours in their own urine. I have never witnessed a more lazy, cold, and uncaring medical staff. How this place is still in business is beyond me.

My situation happened several weeks ago. Please people don't send your family in this facility for rehab or long term stay because if you do, your loveones will experience neglect. I had a worst experienced when I saw my father soaking wet in bed with BM and urine, it occurred numerous times. Aides were so rude and lazy, one aide a big black woman named Elizabeth always on her phone. she kept saying "ok im coming". It took her 35 mins to change my dad, her phone call was much more significant than taking care of my dad. I was so furious. I talked to the supervisor or social worker about the incident but it stayed the same...They need to fire those workers who are lazy, rude, and not dedicated to their job.

Update to information below: My dad was exposed to COVID at this facility and they didn't tell us. They moved him to an isolated room, not only didn't they call, they didn't tell us at reception nor aaany of the staff when we were looking for his new room. He told us when we were in his room. Thankfully, he remained uninfected but they aren't handling his health or the health of Costigan well. ------------ My father is currently interred in this facility. He was in isolation his first week there. Then I advocated for him and learned there are multiple accounts of wrong information in his files. They don't make sure they have the right info in their files. No one double checks! He's been asking for medication for the last 4 days. He still hadn't received any. He has been moved to a shared room but they told him that they will shower him only twice a week. He can wash himself, he just needs to be walked to the shower and even though this is the case, the staff told he can only shower twice a week. Regarding his food, since he requested kosher, they only get food from Giddy's. The food is greasy and salty. He's a diabetic with high blood pressure. He can't eat that food and they won't accommodate with better quality.

Remember the horror movie "The Shining"? That's what it feels like inside this facility. You get worse in this facility than when you first arrive from neglect, repeated delays in care or unanswered needs. They charm you to get you to stay longer, addressing complaints temporarily only to abandon you soon afterwards. My father lost health care, respect and dignity in this place and actually began to heal as soon as we took him out. Im going to need repentance, confession and forgiveness from my priest for leaving him in there for what I saw him go through.

Not a place to be,staff members are there for the pay,not for the care of people, weekends they take advantage of the the Facility, for Those patient who need help in eating, they just throw the tray on the table, and walk,I seen it my self away. They don't care if they eat or not. See the new staff members know they can get away with it, because there sort of staff, I have seen it myself when they suppose to pass out the drinking water, every shift, and mark the date and shift, but theydon't . Once again I have seen it myself. Best place to have your love ones is in your home, and pay For Professional Service .what they charge Medicare, United health care, they just taking the insurance pay. Form my experience, these nursing home, and rehabilitation centers to stay away. CARE ON IN AT EAST BRUNSWICK RWJ CENTER ANY OF THEM Adrian near Robert Wood Johnson Hamilton. Lawrenceville Rehabilitation Center. Make sure you do as much research as you can, look at there reviews anything at 4.0 and below stay away.there a reason why .remember always follow up on the love ones, ask them how things are going on in the Facility.take notes, always check there under garments for sure.they will attack the weak ones,Especially if they can get away with it. Well ,be smart, besafe, and never stop loving the one you care.🀨

They are good if you speak English well or are not confused. You have to ask for things. If you don’t ask, they’ll do the bare minimum or less. Update 8/13: Removing a star. I’m conflicted because the physical therapists are phenomenal. The daytime staff is alright as long as you speak up and have advocates. However, the nighttime staff is horrible. My grandmas experience was β€œI was terrified at night, they were bad people. They tried to give me the wrong medication twice. I would try to sleep at 8pm to avoid them.” β€œThey cleaned me and used a dirty towel left in the sink to clean me and when I asked for a clean towel she asked me if I want to be washed or not.” I’m livid. This sweet human did not deserve this experience.

My father was here to recover from an infection with antibiotics and PT. He began making improvements but then caught Covid. He died three weeks later while still in this facility. His physical therapists were lovely but I was frustrated by lack of communication and errors, one of which may have contributed to the outcome. My decision to place him here will haunt me for the rest of my life.

After about an hour after my husband was admitted to rehab, his caregiver and I noticed that he was wet. Tried calling the nurse but no one came. His caregiver had to change him. The next day his caregiver went to see him and he was in the same clothes from the previous day. Later on that day, since he couldn't reach the call bell, he called out for a nurse to take him to the bathroom. After numerous times calling her and no one came, he tried to get up by himself and fell. Care One did not post attention to your loved one.

My sister Sameera died in this miserable short of nasty inexperienced staff . I still get nightmares because of how she was treated she would buzz them for her pain medication and they take their time she was in hospice JUST PURE HELL. And they are charging the insurance and government.

Do not send a loved one to this place. If you are elderly and bedbound they tranquilize patients out of convenience for Delirium. Stay away.

Terrible experience at this facility. My dad has congestive heart failure and they never monitored his weight to make sure he was not retaining liquids. By the time he was going to be discharged, we had to transferred him to the hospital because he had gained 16lbs in two weeks. They have 1 nurse for too many patients and the staff has an attitude. They never have answers for you or are too busy to addressed your concerns. The aid staff was busier on their phones or chatting with each other than helping patients’ basic needs. Terrible place! Do not bring your elders here, they will leave worse than they came in.

I really appreciate the time that the staff takes to make sure that my mom is happy and cared for. They are observant and sensitive to her needs. They focus on the small things such as helping her to put on her earrings for her birthday or bringing her a crossword puzzle just because they know that she enjoys them. They even take the time to stop and help her call me to say goodnight. They pleasantly greet us by name when we visit. My heart is at peace knowing that my mom is at Care One East Brunswick where she is well cared for.

I visit this facility on a regular basis and my experience has been awesome everytime! The atmosphere is so inviting and refreshing and the staff is truly professional and courteous. In fact, when I walk in I am always greeted with a smile and a kind word. I have also had the pleasure of enteracting with the Director of Nursing, and she is full of compassion. Not to mention, her staff is impeccable as well as diligent in making sure the residents are content. Moreover, my relative is being adequately fed and groomed as well as comforted. Therefore, I highly recommend this location for anyone seeking a wonderful place where their loved ones would be given the care and support they deserve.

I was just discharged after about 3 weeks, and it was a positive experience. The nurses were wonderful, friendly and caring, as were the doctors. I am 55, younger and more mobile than many of the patients, but Danny the physical therapist gave me a good, challenging routine. The facility is pretty large. I found it relaxing to watch the fish in the several aquariums. There is a courtyard. When I arrived the place was beautifully decorated for Halloween and felt inviting. The furniture in my room was a little beat up, but I grew to love my room, which at my request was a single. The food was good but portions were snall, so I frequently requested a sandwich. The kitchen was very accommodating to special requests. The room had a heater/AC which can be adjusted. There is a small pantry with a fridge and microwave. There was some tension among the patients there and some occassional swearing back and forth, but I didn't let it disturb me. I had a dental issue and the very same afternoon the visiting dentist fixed the problem. Due to back problems it is difficult for me to take proper care of my feet and someone came in and took care of me. I was in another rehab earlier this year, and CareOne was far superior.

My 84 year old mom was at care one for 20 days and they were wonderful. She came home so much better , everyone from the social worker , front desk greeter , nursing staff , and physical therapist . The food was great as well and she is a picky eater . Thank you so much for taking great care of her.

I was there for 6 weeks and the staff was amazing. Their care went beyond my expectations. I hope never to need their services again but would not hesitate to go back if needed them again.

Everyone was caring and helpful during my stay. The physical therapists worked with me to get me back on my feet, the nurses were wonderful, as well as the aides. Special thanks to Carlos in the kitchen for making sure I had what I needed.

My father just completed 4 weeks of rehab at Care One East Brunswick. To say we were impressed would be an understatement. From the receptionist at the front door to the kitchen staff, our experience has been top notch. The nurses, aides, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapist, social workers, administrative staff, kitchen staff...we were thoroughly impressed by the level of care, concern, support and understanding my father and the family received. A few special accolades are in order. Jennifer and Yona, you deserve a medal for the care you provided to my Dad. Always pleasant and willing to help, and never said "I can't". Beth in PT....incredible. So caring and supportive and encouraging. Marvin...always willing to listen and take time out to address any concerns. Emily in social work...caring and compassionate, hard worker and patient. Judy at the front desk...always pleasant and welcoming and sweet. Lastly, the kitchen staff was fantastic. My dad loved the food! If he needed something extra, they would deliver in record speed. There were so many others who were fantastic but whose names I didn't learn. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, we are eternally grateful for the care my Dad received. We will miss you all! Love, Art Goldenberg and Family

Social worker Emily was a big help. Occupational therapist Kayla went above and beyond. Some nurses were more attentive than others. The aides were not aware my dad had a broken pelvis so that was not communication. He was very uncooperative but they tried. John hospice nurse was such a comfort and my dad is going home under their care.
