Really good food. From appetizers to desert it was delicious. Our waitress (Nicole) was fantastic. Also had the pleasure of live music by Twice the Spice- Tommy and Jeanne , very enjoyable Believe they have live music on Friday nights. Enjoyed the night. Highly recommend.

This place has that fine local restaurant vibe.. food is just amazing. We were there for the first time yesterday and loved the food we ordered Calamari with marinara sauce was yumm.. I ordered the sea food marechiara which was perfectly cooked and my wife orders the halibut Francese which was very delicious. Their desserts are also great we tried the Tiramisu which was sooo good.. No wonder they only open for dinner and they are sold out .. Amazing staff and wonderful service.. this is going to be our local go to place when we want to have good Italian food .. Oct 16th .. our 2nd visit to Ruocco’s wonderful experience and fantastic food . Tried their sea food risotto which was well done , interesting was their egg rolls and nice Italian touch to the Asian dish comes with Hoisin sauce .. dish is so tasty that you don’t need a dipping sauce . Their chef shd consider paring this with a spicy sauce.. looking forward to our next meal there

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I have to say this place was amazing! From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with a warm welcome. Our server Lucy was so friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the special which was short ribs and pasta in a cream sauce, which was not too heavy just perfect ! I’ve never finished a meal ever ! I cleaned my plate here ! The baked clams were delicious just like I’ve had in my hometown of Brooklyn and if you know anything about baked clams , everyone does them a little differently, but these were right on point ! Just perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely need to check it out if you’re in the area and if not, it’s worth the drive. !

This place was amazing all the way around, from spectacular service, friendly family vibes, to mouth watering food! If you're looking for a family environment with traditional Italian cuisine, Ruoccos is the place to be! Spent my sisters 40th Birthday here. I enjoyed their Scallop special, many of their appetizers, as well as their desserts. Which most are homemade, just incredible. Topped with their welcoming hospitality. We'll definitely be back to book a party! Thank you for a great dinner experience.

We have a group of friends that have been together for over 35 years and we get together every three months and we are so glad that we were referred to and chose this place. The food the service the atmosphere made you feel like you were having dinner at home with friends and that’s all you can ask for when you go out. I HIGHLY recommend you try this place and you too can experience what we did last night. Ciao for now👍🙏🇮🇹🍷

Ordered a special, a halibut dish, which was not only visually enticing but truly delectable as it was served over perfectly cooked risotto. Although the halibut was cooked with a decadent crust, it was also competing with a luscious risotto. Both were delicious in their own right. I will say that the risotto was probably the best I ever had, perfectly cooked with butter and perfectly cooked tomatoes and spinach. The dish was absolutely delicious. The other dish was “Chef’s choice”, Rigatoni pasta with shrimp, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and spinach in a sherry wine cream sauce. It was very good as well, with a minor complaint of a few shrimp that were a tad over cooked, however, it was aggressively devoured nonetheless. We liked the water delivered to our table with a bowl of ice, a nice touch. The dinner was preceded with warm and perfectly crisp bread with a soft center. The owner also introduced himself and poured a very tasty olive oil to enjoy with that aforementioned bread. The olive oil, we were told, was available for purchase but we passed (just didn’t need it at the moment). The restaurant is family run as both daughters of the owner were present, one was our server, a very reassuring thing to see. I wholly recommend this family owned restaurant (it shows in their attention to detail) for everyone to enjoy. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a rear separate room for private gatherings as well as an outdoor dining space (not currently set up). The owner also stated that a liquor license is being pursued and should be forthcoming very soon, another plus once it comes to fruition. I will be back not only for the food, but for the fact we felt welcomed and appreciated. It was truly an overall enjoyable experience.

Really nice BYOB place! Very friendly, welcoming and relaxing Saturday evening. Food and service were great. We had a group of five people everyone enjoyed their dishes. My top three favorite picks from the evening were the white sangria, grilled octopus salad and the orecchiette with Italian sausage. Yum!

This place is absolutely amazing! The food is phenomenal! Family style deliciousness! Family owned, staff is amazing, owner was present and made sure everything was smooth. I was here for a private large group dinner for a baptism but I would absolutely come here to eat with just my family or friends too! Highly Highly recommend this place! Enjoy!

I recently had my sons' double baptism dinner party at Ruocco's, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! On short notice, Stephen was able to put together a large gathering where the food, from appetizers to dessert, was the talk of the party! The food is delicious, and everyone cannot wait to return to try more items on the menu! Even the guests of honor chowed down! :) Thank you, Stephen, Bella, and the rest of the staff, for making our day so special. Your attention and care were above and beyond. We are so grateful! See you soon!

Ruoccos was Amazing from the staff to the chef then met the owner. Our Waitress Nicole was the most friendly outgoing waitress she new the menu and knew the specials read them throughly. I went off the specials on Sunday night with the 4 cheese rigatoni in a spicy vodka sauce with spicy sausage mixed in. Wow it blew me away so delicious. The standard calamari was dead on. Most places i get the calamari is chewy. This was perfect. The toasted almond cake blew the roof off the building. Wow homemade from the Steve. The owner Steve came to our table ,talked with us explained his business and how he got the idea for the dessert from the good humor toasted almond bar. I'm sold ill be back and will be calling in July to order Toasted almond cake for my friends daughter graduation party. Thank you Ruoccos. Brian W

I was there for a party so I didn't order anything myself or pay for anything. But the food was incredible! Everything was great and there were so many courses! I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn and everything here reminded me of that time in my life. The staff were very nice and made us feel at home.

The worst experience ever ! Please read the responses of an owner !! It is frightening and full of psychological harassment to customers!!! We received an octopus salad with burned potatoes and burned octopus ( Literally black ) and when we told the server that we can pay for the dish but let the chief decide should we pay or not. The owner came and stared to argue with us with inappropriate higher voice tone . I had never experienced such a service before .. He said next time we had to tell before we are 90 % of dish .Which in fact was just a two forks of a dish . The total amount of octopus was 8 pieces in salad and we ate 4 pieces. He almost made my friend cry because of this rude tone .. Wow . Avoid avoid avoid !! P.s : the service from the server was exceptional and the pasta we ordered was very good , but the lack of politeness and professionalism from the Owner / manager leave the feeling of “ never come back to this place and to persuade all family and friends not going there either “ Response to Owner : That is not true ! We did not eat the most of it . But the bottom line was that you served the burned (coal black )potatoes and octopus in your salad ! It was not noticeable right away as it was hidden under arugula, when we noticed it after mixing the salad we told the server in the POLITE way . But your appearance and tone was way to inappropriate for customers ! This is the first time ever in my entire life someone made me so uncomfortable in restaurant. And the most shocking detail is that this person call himself an owner ! Advise : Your should delegate management of issues with costumers to your female server as she was the the only positive memory from the whole dining experience in your place. P.s :Dear owner , you were the one who asked your friend Dan to comment on other people review ! ( you literally said it on your responses that it was your friends suiting around us ) Your friend insisted that we ate most of our plate , how he knows ? unless he came to our table and check our plates!! Really .) This is very strange! We just shared the negative experience WE HAD with one plate we ordered (that contained coal black burned potatoes that has to be returned , )we even offered to pay for it ASK your server !!! (the rest food I fairly commented as good ) We live in blessed country called America with freedom of speech ! I did have a negative experience with your place , particularly with you . I would never come back to your place and that it ! I am pretty much sure you can live with it , we just two ordinary ladies . Everybody makes mistake and having one negative review does not necessarily mean that people will think your place is not worth trying . It is ok to admit that you serve a people a bad prepared dish that day and say sorry rather that fall below the ground to argue with two young ladies , frightening and psychologically harassing them. In the end of the dat you are the owner and a man! Professionalism comes first in any business ! God bless you !

Recently visited this restaurant while my wife and I were attending our nieces engagement party. The atmosphere was really nice and comforting. The service was top notch. Being someone who lives on a gluten free diet I was pleasantly surprised when I was being accomendated when I honestly was prepared to knowing that I would only be eating the ceaser salad. They provided gluten free pasta and the chicken Parmesan they provided grilled chicken. I was beyond surprised. I didn't want to ask my niece about any gluten free options as this was her day and decided to just go with it. Great job guys are in my book you went above and beyond.

Thank you to the owner who was so accommodating for my sons birthday party. We ordered from the catering menu and last minute needed to change the time of our sons birthday to an earlier time. He went out of his way to make this happen for us. Excellent service. Caring owner. Food was beyond delicious! Thank you -Alisa

This place never disappoints. Every time the experience gets better and better. I can not thank Bella and Gianna enough for helping me arrange my brothers proposal for his girlfriend.

Calling this place, a hidden gem is not doing it justice, this is truly a diamond in the rough! I’m starting to find that all the best restaurants in New Jersey are in strip malls, because I was absolutely blown away by all the food here! Our server, Bella started us out with some bread with the most amazing olive oil for dipping, and a few other toppings if we wanted. Delicious. I then tried the artichoke oreganata, special, wow. Also tried the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls, they came with a cheese wiz sauce, definitely very tasty. I cannot resist a spicy rigatoni vodka, and this one was stuffed, very different than anything I’ve ever had, and incredibly delicious! My friend, and I were fighting over the last bites. For the main course, I tried the honey glaze salmon with roasted potatoes and spinach, I got it well done so the honey made the salmon very crisp. Oh my God, quite possibly the most amazing thing I’ve ever eaten, didn’t even need sauce! And then my best friend had the oso bucco Which was so enormous it came with a bone that was about the size of my head! Soft, tender fall off the bone, meat, and a bit of mashed potatoes underneath, I was absolutely jealous. We were offered dessert, but possibly eat another bite especially after trying Bella‘s favorite, blueberry sangria, I will absolutely be back to try the rest of the menu!

This place is a must visit, easily the most unique and delicious Italian food we’ve ever tried. The appetizers were fantastic, we had plenty of bread with dipping items, the gnocchi with braised short ribs was out of this world good. We somehow managed to cap our meal off with tiramisu. The service was phenomenal and the experience was just amazing! You must visit this place, we will definitely return again!!

The food here is amazing! Some of the best food I’ve ever had. The pink panther is by far the best penne vodka I’ve ever had, they even provided me the recipe which I know won’t come out as good as Ruoccos! Highly recommend for amazing Italian food!

DISAPPOINTED. Felt like we were strangers dropping in a family's house. In other words, the servers seemed generally annoyed to be working this Sunday afternoon and the chef didn't appear have professional training. The Christmas music was blasted while we ate, and even though we asked politely to have it lowered it just got louder as the night went on...everyone/servers were shouting to hear the others at their tables. Disappointing menu choices and poorly seasoned/cooked food. We had four entrees and two appetizers, the CALAMARI was very good but all other dishes were below average in terms of quality/freshness/preparation when compared to local restaurants. We frequently eat Italian and consistently explore great restaurants all over NJ. We also realize that just one experience doesn't tell the whole story for every restaurant. Unfortunately this particular restaurant misses the mark on so many levels we can't recommend it, nor will we try it again.
