Another incredible piece of history right in the middle of Brownsville. Literally a 10-ish minute drive down the road from the Palo Alto battlefield in north Brownsville, this site is kept in just as excellent condition. Considerably smaller than palo alto but the scenery is just as good. Highly recommend to everyone to visit this place, great piece of history here with lots to learn!

It is hard to believe that such a lovely place was once a battleground. I highly recommend anyone who appreciates our country to pay respects to this place. Walk the 30 minute path and read how soldiers from Mexico and the US fought for what they believed was right.

Nice historic site. Nice, concrete path perfect for a nice walk. It is a loop. Good signage to explain the site significance. Beautiful wildflowers (March). No visitor Center, that is over at the Palo Alto Battlefield a.few miles away.

This is an open space environment battlefield that history has it's wonders of what just happened here. Lol On location passing by in the car you might just pass it if your not looking at a blink notice. It's not hidden traffic intends to be cautious on the road. (watching the road). Love this location peace of mind and soul does good to the heart. Smile people, WALK AT YOUR OWN RISK.

The gates were closed during business hours and, after parking at a bank across the street and crossing the very busy street, you find it's just a trail with info boards placed throughout. Hopefully, the Palo Alto Battlefield will be a better experience.

A beautiful field bordered by a rescan. We went on a weekend and we had the park to ourselves

The park offers an oval-shaped track that can be used for jogging, walking your pet or just enjoying the mage Stix Palma along the resaca. Remember this is a historic site of the Mexican-American War and lives were lost here.

My second visit near Brownsville, Texas, was this area that was another event that contributed to the Mexican, US American War, the very next day, May 9th, 1846, after the Battle of Palo Alto May 8th, 1846. The US troops and the Mexican soldiers met again to do battle over ownership and Rio Grande boundaries. The US soldiers again prevailed, and the dispute continued. Folks, this is American history and is another event that doubled the size of our great United States page in history This area, back in 1846, was full of Texas Ebony trees, which are covered with large thorns, swampy water, and, of course, large Texas rattlesnakes ready to defend its territory. The landscape today has been transformed into various beautiful flowers, blooming cactus, and all types of birds and wildlife. If you go near Brownsville, Texas, stop and visit this and other historical parks; you won't be disappointed!

This is the site of day two of the first battle of Mexican/American War. Great walking trails and jogging trails.

Very interesting. Plaques and audio over your cell phone tells the history well. The hard gravel path around the field is great for walking or running. The bathrooms were under renovation and not accessible. The covered picnic area was in need of alot of litter pickup.
