Amazing hiking available for all skill levels. Clearly marked paths, water stations throughout and great wildlife. Bird watching, Gator spotting and tortoises galore. They have a nature center with different kinds of falcons, owls and a Bald Eagle. Inside there is a unique Bunny named Honey who is the largest bunny breeds and is 12lbs of fluff.

Great place! The visit center is pretty nice and the entire staff was awesome. I had been told by a neighbor that entrance to trail was free. When I arrived there wasn’t anyone at the desk. There was staff members assisting other people. But I just walked through. Met a nice family on the trail. She mentioned that she loves visiting the preserved because it’s so affordable for her and the kids. I said “yeah, can’t beat free!” And she informed me that it should be $3 for adults. Well, I went back in and spoke to someone at the desk so I could pay my admission. This place does a lot of good work with animal protection and rehabilitation and well as environmental conservation. I’m in full support of it. There was a gorgeous bald eagle, a red shouldered hawk, a few owls, a vulture, and more. The trail is bicycle friendly, but no PEVs. I look forward to going back with my family now that I finally checked the place out.

We love it here. We have had an annual pass for 2 years. Worth it for us. We go almost weekly for a nice walk & exploration. My 7 year old loves to go see what animals we can see & say hello to all the ones in the nature center. She has had her last 2 birthdays there. My 15 year old nephew loves it so much he chose to volunteer. I love bringing my camera with me to do my nature photography as well. You never know what you will see each day. We are blessed to have Boyd Hill so conveniently close to us.

Beautiful place, we never thought it was so big. Is peaceful, perfect for a date, good for kids, great to have a perfect walk with all the family. The staff is really helpful and welcoming. We got there around 3 o'clock and we didn't ever notice that 3 hours pass by. Amazing time. Definitely we will come back.

Need an escape from Tampa/St Pete city stuff? Boyd Hill is a solid nature spot where you can really just get lost for a little why. They also have a few rescued birds of prey, and everytime I've gone I've seen baby alligators chillin around. Def recommend it if you need a lil escape.

Plenty to see at Boyd Hill. The nature center is quite nice and full of educational displays and living creatures. The extensive nature trails are accessible through the nature center and there is a fee of $3 for adults and $1.50 per children 3 - 16. There is plenty to see on the trails and to hike most of the loops could easily take 2 hours at a leisurely pace.

Beautiful nature preserve with nice walking trails. Inexpensive entrance fee for what you get. Very peaceful trails. Great spot for kids with lots of educational opportunities. There is an indoor education center with snakes, birds of prey, etc… they are saving all of the animals since they are all injured and cannot survive in the wild. Kind and compassionate employees who care for the environment and animals they care for.

Beautiful! We did a good 3 mile walk and saw alligators and raccoons. I highly recommend if you're looking for a place out of the city for a nice walk. Cost was $3 per person, no military discount, and we did see they gave guided tours.

Hands down, the best hike in St. Pete. Who knew such a well-preserved natural gem was tucked away in the south side of the city? Their aviary is breathtaking, you can see a real live bald eagle from 5 or 6 feet away! For the casual hiker, this is perfect. For a seasoned hiker, this is an easy yet rewarding walkabout. Everything about this place is awesome. The armadillo sculptures are 10/10.

It's a birders paradise. Nice easy comfortable trails. Clean restrooms at the visitors center. The trails are dotted with drinking water stations with cool water. Highly recommended for a light day excursion. Of course the highlight was that we saw a gator sunning by the water.

What a St Pete Treasure! We went to Raptor Fest and it was a great event for all ages. The amount of vendors present was a surprise as it was our first Raptor Fest. Well organized and plenty of. volunteers eager to help. Native Plant sale was a surprise and we left with armfuls of plants, too! Look forward to returning soon.

Beautiful preserve but was a bit confused because trails in other locations have markings along on trees t to show and make sure you're on correct path. This one didn't but otherwise I loved it.

We had a picnic and let our boys play on the playground. Then took a great walk through the trails. We saw lots of wildlife and the convenience of having water stations throughout was amazing. Easily one of our favorite parks to visit.

It was definitely a great end to the year visiting Boyd Hill. We had an excellent time walking more than 4 miles of trails today and the gift shop has some cool finds. We had an excellent time and will be back in the new year for sure.

People yelled at us to put a mask on my kids when In general, children aged 5 years and under should not be required to wear masks.

Such a calm and serene spot for walking and being in nature. Rarely is this place crowded and the people working here are so kind. They have a section with injured birds that detail the type of bird and it's injury, which acts as a rehab and sanctuary for these animals. Also, the main center has a bunch of fun facts and live reptiles to check out before or after your walk. Inexpensive and close to downtown.

An excellent nature preserve, it is very well maintained. Great spot to see wild alligators up close. Many different animals to see, both on display as well as 'in the wild.' What makes this nature preserve really great is that there's a balance between it being zoo-like and being wild.

A great place to explore nature. The staff was friendly and gave a cool presentation before the tour. Got to see some gators and other small wildlife. The sounds of nature there are very relaxing and serene.

Attended Raptorfest and enjoyed the entire event. We enjoyed the exhibits and met most of the "ambassadors" and heard their stories. The most common story was the birds were shot just after a holiday where kids get BB guns. (The eagle below was shot with a BB which lodged behind it's eye when it was about 8 months old. Rendering it unreleasable). Which is a result of poor supervision and lack of knowledge. Take your kids to this event and have them listen to the stories. It is well worth your time and hopefully expand your child's eyes and have them respect to our fragile ecosystem.

Great walking trails with great Florida scenery. Trails are short and long options that are marked well. The friendliest people you'll come across. Cheap to visit and the gift shop is cheaper than others of the same type. Overall 10/10

What an incredibly beautiful gem in St Petersburg! They have the most amazing residents of beautiful birds that have been rescued including a bald eagle, owls, hawks and more! A great place for a long nature walks and getting outdoors. Tickets are $3 a person. There is a great gift shop and educational center that’s free to access. Highly recommend!

Outstanding place to visit. We arrived around 3:30-4 pm and spent about 2 hours. For three dollar entry fee per person it was well worth the price. Our first stop was the outdoor raptor center where we heard detailed one on one explanations from the knowledgeable staff and were able to get up very close to various different raptors which they have there. The staff members were outstanding. After that, we walked the trail into the preserve to the lake. There we saw many different types of wild birds feeding and roasting in the trees. We were able to take lot of great photos! Highly recommend this place. Would strongly suggest visiting in the later part of the afternoon when the birds by the lake are more active. We left not seeing everything and definitely planning to come back.

Love this place! 5 miles of trails with beautiful views of ponds and wildlife. You can walk or bike (except on boardwalks). Several nice sculptures around, lots of baby gators, and birds. We spent a couple of hours and still didn't get to see it all, we'll be returning very soon!

A great place to get away and enjoy the outdoors. Several trails of various lengths to explore. Always a fun spot to go birding. And when you’re done stop by the Birds of Prey exhibit. Picnic area is very clean and well maintained. There is also a playground for the kiddos.

This place is such a treasure!! Only $3 a person and it is beyond worth it! My sisters and I were only planning on walking around for a couple of hours and we stayed most of the day. We saw so many animals you would have thought it was a zoo. We sat quietly for a little bit and had 2 ospreys flying 15 feet over head among dozens of other birds. We also saw 13 different gators, snakes, countless lizards, turtles, marsh hares...the list goes on and on!! The educational area is informational and has great interactive learning opportunities. If you are in St. Pete's and have a healthy respect for animals and nature, you should stop here!

Very beautiful park. Not too many people when i went this morning (saturday). Lots and lots of trails, well maintained, some people who are helpful in talking about some of the alligators you can see on some of the boardwalks. The $3 entry fee for 1 adult ($1.5 for kids) is well worth. Free parking with a playground if you dont want to use the trails.

This is probably my favorite part about living in the Tampa Bay area. Staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They sell fresh fruit and yummy small snacks. They also have a gift shop that I am guilty of going to and cant help but buy things. The trails are clean, quiet, and have plenty of shade. I personally wear sunblock and bug spray but thats my choice. They have several water stations that are ready with cold water and cups super helpful when its hot out. Also they have birds of prey that were rescused and are taken care of here. Its a great place to bring friends, family, and children. Adults pay three dollars to get in. They even have reptiles and displays inside the main enterance area. Also a beautiful and very friendly bunny you can interact with. I cannot say enough positive things about this place.

A beautiful oasis in the heart of the city. Lots of trails to explore. Birds unable to return to the wild make their home here. You can see an occasional alligator or gopher tortoise.. Nice nature center.

I've been going to Boyd Hill since I was a child. I love that nature trail so much. It's a nice place to go for a run as long as you watch your footing. As of this writing it is currently free to use the trail and playgrounds while the lobby is closed, hence no admission fee. I take my daughter here to see birds, spiders, snakes, tortoises, and gators, plus the several pokéstops and Pokémon Go gyms/raids are a nice bonus! 10/10 recommend.

Love visiting here! I feel super safe walking along the trails - most visitors are wearing masks (required to enter the visior center to acces the park) and the paths are wide enough to keep distance even when they aren't. It's super cheap to get in and it's so huge - definitely one of my favorite places to spend a few hours when I can.

Fantastic. That is the only way I can describe this park. Miles of beautiful trails with great views of downtown St.Petersburg and Lake Maggiore. Leave plenty of time to explore the boardwalks, islands and before you leave, make sure you visit the birds of pray too. They are my favorite. Injured birds that can no longer live in the wild are lovingly cared for by the staff.

It's okay is the real statement for this nature reserve, a little avery, a good view and other than that, that is it. I feel like the there are better parks, than coming here. It was just dirty, the trails are not maintained, don't even know why you pay to go in....... staff was nice though.
