If you want a dining an amazing dining experience then this is the place to go. It is a small 11 table restaurant with a very relaxed atmosphere. The service is great and the food is even better. I love the way the menu is organized, there are 4 or 5 starters and 4-5 entrees to choose from and in my experience a menu that precise tell you the food will be executed perfectly. The dinner includes bread and an incredible salad. Be prepared to carve out 3 hours for the entire dinner. You order your entire meal, minus the dessert, the chef and waiter sets the pace of the meal so you don’t have your entree come out while you’re still eating your starter or salad (a pet peeve of mine). This place is by far the best food I’ve had since moving to Florida.

This is definitely a nice dinner out. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, cozy with not very many tables. The service is excellent, all the servers are very good and knowledgeable about the menu and what to pair with everything. The food is fantastic, incredibly flavors in each dish. I always get the Black Pearl salad. Not only is the food great but the presentation always makes everything look even better.

Well worth the higher cost for a special occasion. Fine dining when typical Florida casual isn’t enough but full formal is too much. We celebrated a special birthday here recently and gourmet food was the star of the show as usual but the small venue really made the experience even better. The pineapple/apple cider was a great palate cleanser between courses. They typically take your entire order at once then stage each course. One minor miss in our order was quickly corrected. Be sure to save room for dessert and seriously consider all of the long-lead-time offerings. In the heart of downtown Dunedin and just a short walk from covered parking but reservations are highly recommended for this small venue.

Superior service! Intimate ambiance! The Sommelier helped us pick the perfect wine and our Server very knowledgebly explained the menu choices. The creativity and artful plating of our dishes by the Chef was sublime.

The service was excellent, but I was a little disappointed in the food. My friend ordered a rare steak and it came medium. We were with another couple, so he didn't send it back. The rest of the food was good, but I've had as good elsewhere for less. It was an experience, but we won't be returning.

Fine Dining at it's best! My family and I loved this place. It was like walking into a different time, where quality takes priority over quantity. A room of a few but speaks as loud as a room of many. The dim lighting, every table with a rose and food crafted to perfection will leave you wanting more. The mushroom bisque is absolute! And the steaks could not be any better than what's expected of. Romance is what this quaint place really is

An amazing experience! We went for our anniversary and it was truly special. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Food is top notch. Fish was the best I've ever had. The steak was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The chef is amazing. A wonderful place for all the special occasions.

The only regret I have is that it’s taken my husband and I this long to visit. The finest dining in all of Tampa Bay, the Black Pearl is exquisite. The epitome of elegance. The dining room is small, with perhaps 12 tables, each perfectly attended to. Everyone we encountered on the staff was extremely knowledgeable and was happy to guide you through the evening, course by delectable course. My husband and I ordered the tuna tataki as an amuse bouche, which was incredibly fresh. The Japanese milk bread was a delight, so sweet and light. We had to get the lobster risotto as it’s a signature dish, which did not disappoint. We also got the escargot with the most delicious buttery puff pastry I would like to have eaten 5 more of. The black pearl salad was incredible, followed by our mains, the Chilean sea bass prepared wrapped in potato which is incredibly unique, and the maple leaf duckling. We were both immensely happy. For our dessert we split the bananas foster, which I could write an entire post to, as it was that glorious. It’s served with banana nut bread that is the recipe of the chef’s grandmother- It’s a shame she could not be here to receive the compliments I would love to pay her. And the ice cream is somehow fried, wrapped in my favorite indulgence- Cinnamon Toast Crunch! You absolutely MUST visit the black pearl if you enjoy great food, service and dining excellence.
