Top 5 sandwiches in California for sure, perhaps my favorite at this time! I tried their hot Bad Boy Sub with pastrami and it was incredible.... Much tastier than the godmother sandwich at bay cities imo. Can't wait to try more sandwiches here. There's metered parking out front. As you enter, don't forget to grab a ticket! Better yet, order via the internet. Once your number is called, the person calling your number is your sandwich maker so within minutes, you'll have a sandwich in hand. IG:. Kay_okay_eat

I have been frequenting Marios for many years and have always thought that they have some of the best sandwiches I have had. The quality always impresses me and the sandwiches are worth the price. The store not only has sandwiches, but also Italian products as well - sort of like a convenience store and a deli in one. At this point, I have probably had all of their sandwiches and I have to say that you cant go wrong with any of them. As a personal preference, I like to take the middle bread out because i think the sandwiches become too much bread at that point.

I have walked past this place several times without noticing it the all the sudden there it was. When you walk in first thing you notice is how clean everything is. I took my number at the door. There were a few customers ahead of me so while I waited I walked up the aisles and was blown away by the beautiful selection of oils, pastas, wines and sodas they stock. The ready made dishes that the feature all look delicious. You can choose from a nice selection of hot and cold sandwiches all freshly hand made. For my first time out I chose Hot Pastrami with all the fixes. It was simply delicious.

Mario's is one of my favorite Italian delis . My mom took me here since I could remember. This is a Glendale staple .if you're from Glendale, then you know about Mario's. Mario's has everything your heart desires . When it comes to Italian food and products. Their sandwiches are big and will definitely fill you up. My favorite is their pizza. The cheese is my favorite part. They only use fresh cheese and meats. Then to finish my meal. I get the cannoils for dessert. They are amazing. They have a lot more items. Pretty much everything on their menu is good.

On my journey to find the best sandwich in the Los Angeles area, my wife and I have found our way to a very quiet section of Glendale. First of all, and unrelated to sandwiches, I really liked the grocery section of the store. There were so many unique and Italian goods and stuffs that you definitely wouldn't find in a big box store. There were so many sandwiches to choose from, but we decided to go with the pastrami Bad Boy Sub, and it was indeed a bad boy. If anyone were to ask me what this sandwich was like, I'd tell them to imagine a very long Big Mac. Besides being very big, this sandwich has three pieces of bread and is pretty sloppy to eat. While I've inherited a fairly large mouth, I was able to consume my sandwich with ease, but my wife had a very hard time biting into it. Was this the best sandwich I've had during my journey? No... but I left very satisfied and would probably get it again if I ever came back. As of now, they charge 3% credit card fee, so bring cash or a debit card. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant, but only a few tables set up outside on the sidewalk.

This place is an authentic Italian business. It's the absolute best place for subs and sandwhiches. Their selection of grocery items is fairly limited from what I imagined. However, what they do have is amazing quality. We go here for dried pasta, polenta, raviolis, subs, and some of their frozen items. Sandwiches is why I originally went here. We don't go anywhere else for their olive oil selection. Some are expensive but the flavor is there. Out most recent can was about $32, but it is a blend of "refined olive oils & Virginia olive oils. With select olive oils from Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Tunisia."

Nice oldschool style Italian deli with great selection of foods and drinks. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 starts is because their Mario's combo sub comes with a slice of bread in the middle, BigMac style. And while the sandwich tastes great, I can't give it 5 stars in good conscience when there's other delis in the LA area (e.g. Bay Cities, Uptown Provisions, etc.) that would pack the sandwich with extra meat instead of more bread. Kind of a cheap move.

horrible service, rude employees one of which yelled at me with attitude after asking a simple question. Extremely impatient people with a short temper. Also overpriced to pay for a 15 dollar sandwich considering McDonalds has friendlier employees.

I stopped in here to pick up a sandwich on Saturday and it was absolutely delicious. All the ingredients are fresh sliced high quality and the bread was very tasty!

One of my favorite sandwiches of my already fairly lengthy lifetime of eating sandwiches is the Vegetarian Sub at Mario's Italian Deli in Glendale. I know that's not what most people who grab numbers and wait impatiently are ordering, but it's what I always order. Having eaten it so many times I should be able to describe what makes it so delectable, but I'm not sure. The bread is excellent, but not funky gourmet bougie bread. It may be the combination of marinated artichoke hearts and mushrooms and an abundance of avocado with no shortage of cubed pickles. That's probably it. Maybe, I've just been eating it for so long, like kids in Kazakhstan might think whatever it is their mom makes is the best thing in the world. But I don't think it's that. While waiting for the sandwich, I have perused the market, which has a wide-ranging selection of imported Italian foods, some neat stuff that's hard to find and priced accordingly. They also have refrigerators stocked with domestic soda of the independent sort, your cream sodas and root beer with sarsaparilla and the like. Pared with that sandwich, the day is sunny, even when it's not.

The best sandwich in Glendale, maybe in all of LA but I don't wanna start a turf war. Great people that work here too. It's a bit of a wait sometimes but well worth it. The sandwiches are huge too. I always get two meals out of mine.

It was my first time coming to this spot while on vacay. Got some delicious cold cuts. First time I tried the imported Mortadella and loved it. I liked that we were able to get a customer service person to take, fill and charge our order. I also got a chance to browse through the aisles and saw some very different items than I'm used to.

Recommend brand with a small stick tie to the bottle but red wine not white. Also the speck prosciutto those two are my favorites. As for sandwiches the ones tried are all delicious

The best sandwich I’ve ever had. I had the mixed cold cuts and S.O.B. (Split each with a friend), and I couldn’t stop saying “YUM!” And doing a little happy dance. You gotta go and get that happy feeling!!!

Inside of an Italian market. Got to grab a number to order your food. I ordered a cold cut oven roasted turkey sandwich and that thing was monster size. Tasted great. 3 levels of bread, that's how big its was. Will go back to try their hot sandwiches next. If you're in Glendale, definitely try this place out. Only seating is outside on the side of the building real mafia style. Lol

Literally the best Italian chicken cutlet sandwich I have had outside of New Jersey. Sharp Italian provolone + breaded chicken + hot peppers + light oil + light balsamic (optional) + classic style. Literally feel like I’m in another state across the country right now! Hiiiiighly recommend.

I used to go here all the time when I was going to Glendale Community College back in 2018. I've tried so many of their sandwiches and still they make great sandwiches! I live all the way in Encinitas now, but every-time I am in town I will stop by. If you haven't tried any of their food, definitely give them a try.

Having lived in New York, and shopped at Italian delis owned by Italian American families, stepping into Mario’s felt like stepping back into my years back East. There’s a great selection of imported Italian ingredients from pasta and tomato sauce to wine and sparkling beverages; and so many takeaway items made in that style that only a real Italian deli can! If I lived closer, I’d be here every week.

Easy call in order process. Pleasantly surprised to find a ton of different beverages. Hearty portion for a sandwich! Definitely get your money's worth. I got the Bad Boy Hot Pastrami, with added tomato sauce, just for some added Italian flavor. Super yummy sandwich, and kind service. Definitely coming back with my sandwich cravings.

Mario's does food right! I went in for a sandwich for my first trip and to say I was pleased is an understatement. My first clue that it would be good was the amount of customers that the staff knew. Food was prepared fresh so it took some time to get the order. Their marinara sauce is incredibly flavorful. I'll be going back soon to try their pasta and pick up a few things from their selection of groceries. Give them a try, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

A thriving submarine sandwich business is done here with 5-star quality, in particular the cold subs. They're large and freshly handmade, and contain a raft of hand-cut bread in the middle. Mario's also offers some reheated or made-to-order Italian standards like lasagna, pizza, garlic bread and eggplant parmigiana, which are good but not greatness. Same with the chilled mac salads etc. in the deli case; they're OK and get the job done. Aisles contain many Italian import items such as wines, olive oils, cookies, dry pasta, and canned goods (some gathering dust). I've been coming here 20 years and don't plan to stop. Mario's is a deservedly beloved longtime indie business in Glendale that is part of the community and we hope will be there forever.
