Pastrami Dip - 5 🌟! Thick Fries w/ Gravy - 5 🌟! Unexpected bonus chili - 5 🌟! The Hat has been in LA for a very long time and while I don't remember how I found them originally, I feel I go here once or twice a year on average. I used to get the smothered fries but it was so huge I would throw out over half the fries. This time I ordered small fries and a side of gravy and it was also a huge portion. There was a mixup and they gave me chili instead of gravy. When I asked for the gravy (it's a Canadian thing), they gave me the chili as a bonus. I know The Hat has multiple locations but I gravitate to this one. Easy to get to and parking is not a hassle. I'd be curious to go to the OG location once though.

I waited for 11 years to eat here. I grew up eating the hat as a kid. I live in Colorado now and honestly I almost cried when we sat down and started eating. It was everything I dreamed about for 11 years. I can't wait to go back!

The Hat was a fun experience. We ordered the world famous pastrami dip, the wet fries and their fresh brewed iced tea. Tips: portions are huge. One sandwich with wet fries would have been more than enough for two.

Famous sandwich shop that I love to stop at when in SoCal. Their pastrami and roast beef dip sandwiches are the best I’ve ever had! Great, friendly, fast customer, they are very accomodating.

There are many locations to chose from but my FAV is Pasadena. Staff is super friendly and they always get the order right. It's fast its clean it's REALLY REALLY tasty. This is in my top 3 pastrami places in So Cal..... ENJOY 😉

Good food. The fries they give you are very generous. Had the "wet"gravy fries for the first time today and they were great. I was told to get them topped with pastrami next time. update: went again today and had a double cheeseburger for the first time, got an pastrami sandwich to eat tomorrow and shared some chili cheese fries with my wife...... SO DAMN GOOD. They really care about quality and consistency with the product as I watched the kitchen prep the food and each order delicately but swiftly out together!

The best Pastrami Sandwich I've ever had they slightly dip the the rolls in au jus,and they have fries with gravy I was tempted to try the huge chili fries maybe next time.

We first visited this The Hat location over two decades ago and the prices are still very reasonable, the portions ridiculously generous (plan on left overs!) and the food is terrific!! 😋

The food was great! My first time eating a pastrami sandwich! The large Fri can feed 4 people and the sandwich fed 2!

This establishment is known for their Pastrami Dip but I opted for a Double Cheeseburger $7.59 and a Hot Dog $3.99. They were ok but nothing to write home about. The burger wasn't very flavorful and the hot dog was somewhat small. On the positive side ordering was easy and the servers were friendly. Free parking in lot.

We love the Hat, and it's consistently good food. The roast beef sammich is great but what they're known for is their pastrami which is excellent. Get the fries, one order is big enough for two people

Great prices and a huge amount of food. Paid $20 for a pastrami dip and wet fries (fries with gravy). I was only able to finish half the sandwich and half the fries in one sitting.

Very friendly staff and hard workers 5/5. Atmosphere's clean 5/5. As for yhe food The pastrami sandwich is good 3/5 Sizes of it is smaller than imagined for the price . A bit on the dry side. I suggest asking for Au jus on the side and adding it. The fries were fantastic 5/5. Very thick and very crispy and fresh. It'll be nice to have a bit of seasoning on it thou. The burgers are okay 3/5.

This restaurant is so very clean, not even funny. The staff is so nice and happy with big smiles. The food is AWESOME! I think The Hat has the best pastrami. The pastrami chili cheese fries are FIRE. I REALLY WISH THEY WOULD COME TO MY HOME TOWN! IF you ever have a chance to stop in a try, I highly recommendyou do.

Always good food from the hat. Can't go wrong. Portion sizes are large. Esp chili cheese fries can feed 2 extremely hungry people or 4 people who eat not so much.

Had the pastrami dip. Great as usual. I really love this place. I didn't this time, but you have to try the wet fries. They are amazing.

Home of the World Famous Hat, originally started in Boyle Heights by two Jews, migrated to Alhambra for many years and now various locations in Southern California including Pasadena. Great thinly sliced Pastrami. The Pastrami dip is $11.99 which is cheaper than its biggest Pasadena competitor Lucky Boys! Top of the line if you enjoy Pastrami!

We decided to try this place for lunch, the pastrami dip was pretty good and the place was very clean with a friendly and fast staff. Good amount of food for what you pay. Parking is very hectic.

Classic... lovely roast beef, and the chili cheese fries are to die for. Id give it 10 stars. Its an east LA classic fast(ish) food.

Amazing pastrami here!!! We all got the pastrami dip and one order of chili cheese fries to share, absolutely loved every bit of it! Portions are pretty large as well.

Amazing, tender pastrami piled on, tucked into a soft roll. Fast service. Tasty “orange bang” soda. Superb.

HATS OFF 👌👍❤ I ordered 3 sandwiches deconstructed style. They were delivered 10 hours later and 2 were immediately devoured! My "vegetarian" 110lb child ate a WHOLE sandwich by herself. I just had my last sandwich today. Amazing! Thank you so much the YUMMINESS and the care it took to taste so yummy 10 hours later and again 2 days later. Do you FedEx sandwiches? It was as big as my dog.
