Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Park

👍👍 I visited this park as a bicyclist with children and discovered wide unpaved trails that meander through a thoughtfully preserved Floridian oasis.

For a preserve in the middle of the city this one is very nice. Much is natural land along the lake shore. Many trails, an aviary, and very good displays in the Nature Center.

Attended a presentation by Dr. Ryan Moyer, USFP, Fish & Wildlife. Through his scientific research he decoded climate change and sea level rise for our group. Now I have a better view of CO2 emissions and how that effects seagrass, mangroves, oysters, Earth's temperature..and more.

Nice peaceful park setting. Does have a play area for kids. The lake does contain alligators so be aware of that.

I felt like I was at real subtropical jungles, but with clean trails and drinking water. Also this place has a lot of animals and birds. Staff is so friendly.
