My brother and I went out Saturday with Captain James. This is a top notch company! Captain James knows where the fish are. Be prepared for a lot of fish!

Last week we went fishing with Bent Charters. It was a great experience. James really knows his stuff. We caught our limit by 9:00 AM and had to start catch and release. I can’t reveal his secrets. If you want to crush it the way we did you will have to request James when you book your charter.

What a blast! My boyfriend and I booked this charter last minute, so we really didn’t know what to expect. When we arrived at the marina, Captain James introduced himself and asked what we were looking to fish for. Being from Chicago with little fishing experience, we simply asked to catch something we could take home! James explained our best bet was to go bottom fishing. 4 hours later and we had the cooler stocked with hog snapper, mangrove snapper, and grunts! Captain James filleted all the fish beautifully and even recommended a great restaurant that could cook some of our catch for us. From the minute of our first drop up until we had to leave, our rods were bent and we were pulling up fish. Great fishing and great company, we 100% plan to reach out to captain James next time we are vacationing in the area!

I am based in the UK and vacation in Florida each year and love to go fishing. Tried a few different charters before I found Bent Charters. For the past 4 years they are my first and only choice. Lance and Heather are fantastic. They really care and go out of their way to ensure you have a great days fishing. They are also very family friendly, as I also take my wife and children. They might not be the cheapest but from experience you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend them and am looking forward to my next trip with them this year. Phil

Purely random that I found this charter on google. I booked an 8-hour trip on the Susan T for just my son and I on Labor Day. The owner was very attentive and interested into what kind of fishing that we wanted to do. We wanted to catch some fish to eat, then go try for something big. Captain James (it would take a whole different review to describe how great he is) took us to the first spot. I kid you not we both caught a fish on our first cast. The fishing was fast and furious and awesome, and then took us to try for something bigger. So, a quick summary of our catch Scamp, mangrove snapper, lane snapper, red grouper, Spanish mackerel, and BIG Bonita. While we did not catch a huge fish , we did have 2 big bites. This was my 7th trip this year, and by far the best. We are already planning our next trips. Highest recommendation I can give, it was AWESOME!

Had an amazing experience with my daughter, mother, and grandmother with Captain James! We did some fishing and had a dolphin cruise! I highly recommend booking with Bent Charters!

We informed Captain James that we would like to catch some big fish that were picture worthy and catch a few to eat. We started out trolling a wreck and caught two nice Baracuda that we used for bait to catch two sharks and three massive Goliath grouper. After that we move a mile and caught 15-20 grey snapper to bring home and eat. My 13 y/o so e is elated and I am Dad of the Year. We did all this on a 6 hours trip. We will be back.

Captain James was on point!! He was very open and determined. We took 10 hour charter and limited out on red grouper on a hard day for fishing. Very professional. Definitely will go again sometime.

Had an awesome time while out on the waters with Captain James this past Christmas & could t wipe the smile off our faces!! He got us on fish all day, was very helpful in answering all the many questions we had & was pleasant to talk with throughout the trip. Lance and Heather took our group out for a great day on the water and we couldn't have been happier. There was always something on the lines and with easy and clear instructions, we were able to real it in (even with a banana I ignorantly brought on the boat, oops!). Particular highlights were the battles to bring some large spinner sharks next to the boat.I know our entire group would agree with me when I say that I completely recommend this experience, and in fact one of our group has made this an annual adventure. I have been out with Captain Mike 3 times and if it's easy going and fun kid friendly fishing this is the charter for you. Captain Mike put us on the trout before 7am and had 30 keeper trout plus 10 other fish in the box.. we asked to go in at 10 AM the captain wanted to stay out.

Had an amazing trip with Bent Charters recently! They knew exactly where to catch grouper and hogfish and kept us on them the whole time. We even got lucky with a cobia! Had a great time with Captain Lance and would definitely book again!

We did a full day fishing charter for my husband' birthday on April 22nd, 2017. We told Captain James that we really wanted to catch some fish (we had been on other charters where we came home 'fishless'). James was outstanding in his ability to find the great fishing spots while at the same time looking after our rods and bait. We caught our limit in King Fish and so many Snapper ... lots of Grouper but unfortunately too small to keep (although some of them were pretty big in our minds!) We would highly recommend Bent Charters!!! It was a super successful and fun day for all of us!!!

James was excellent. He did all the work and we just fished.

We absolutely would not recommend taking this private fishing charter. We arrived at the marina with very little instructions on where to go. No one met us when we arrived or instructed us where to go. I text the owner when we walked around the entire marina for 15 minutes and he said to find the fuel station. Bad communication and not a huge deal by itself...we found it. We arrive at what they call their “fishing boat” which was not cleaned well prior to arrival and the only seat on the entire boat was a soaked, 2”, 20 year old pad of some sort. I went back to the Marina and grabbed clean oil pads (Used to soak up spilled oil!) that our family could sit on. Yep, on a $700 fishing trip, this was the start! And this old 1960’s (70’s?) boat must have had an oil leak as we all smelled like oil or diesel fuel. Fun...not. The owners son James was the captain and was the one who took us on the trip. James was on his phone texting, calling others on his phone throughout the trip. He turned on his country music for us (which we hate)! He was not engaged with us at all but appeared merely there because he had to. He. Kyle have cared less that we were there! We weren’t going to tell the captain how to run his ship so we stayed quiet. James is a young kid (about 25 years old) so we just let these things pass chalking it up to lack of maturity. I let the owner know how terrible of an experience we had and he said James was going through some very personal things and was not in a good state of mind. If he knew that, then why did the owner subject us to this awful trip? He knew ahead of time James wasn’t going to provide a good experience but sent him out anyway with our family! We paid nearly $700 for a 3rd rate experience. We took several other private charters (dolphins, shelling...etc) during our trip and this was by far the worst experience. Terrible customer service. Very disappointed and we don’t recommend them.

Captain James handled our trip with fashion! Very knowledgeable and put us on fish! Went from spanish mackerel to black fin shark then back to mackerel. Great job Captain James! We will return!

Captain James was outstanding!! Despite windy conditions and rain in the forecast , Captain James put us on the fish.. we caught makeral and shark. WE WILL BE BACK ....GREAT JOB AND THANKS CAPTAIN JAMES!!!!!

This was an awesome day of fishing!! Captain James knows his stuff. This trip was definitely 5star we got on some grouper, snapper, and hog fish!!! 10/10 definitely recommend for all of your fishing needs!!

James the captain was awesome he knew everything and where to find the best spots. Heather the owner was super easy to work with set us up with a great time out on the water it was my first time out and I was nothing but busy catching all day. This team is truly the best hands down. I’ll be back very soon catch me even bigger fish then this time!!!!

We had a great time on our charter today! James was a wonderful captain and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He took us to the best fishing spots and gave everyone the opportunity to catch lots of different fish! The boat had a great seating area to seat all six of us comfortably. We will definitely be back again soon!

James took us out to catch Bonita fish and we caught all kinds of them. I would recommend Bent Charters to anyone looking for a charter in the Maderia Beach area. He was very helpful and made the trip fun.

Went out with Captain James back in early January. Brought us offshore where we bottom fished and caught dozens of fish. We all had a blast. Ended up attracting what ended up being a 7' shark that Captain James got hooked for me. Didn't expect to get to check a bucket list item off on that day, but it was truly an amazing experience to fight a beast like that. Wrapped up the day trolling until sunset. Was an amazing trip, and next time we go to Florida we will be back. Thank you!!

The trip went well. The captain was awesome. Just be aware that they expect a gratuity of 15 - 20 percent because the captains don't get paid through the money you pay for the charter apparently at this place.
