Fun for all ages, inside and outside! The kids would have me move just to be closer they love it so much. Outside play ground is newly redone and original and a BLAST!

Here is another 💎 in Largo, Florida. This community center has everything, including but not limited to swimming, playgrounds, baseball fields, tennis courts, and, of course, don't forget about the nature trails. You can get a good workout in by using their outdoor manual gym equipment, then end your day with a nice walk. They also have summer camps for the little ones.

Had a birthday party here all wristbands were the same color. Party sections were not designated. It was $7.00 per person in May for the pool for non members magically now its $8.00 per person and for what? 2 hours of swimming and to use a slide? Lady over the phone was quite nasty about it so won't be wasting my money here anymore.

I've been going to Highlands rec center for years. I love doing the gym upstairs I love The Walking track it is awesome. My granddaughter goes here during camp. We had a nice function at the pool through her school also very nice place to go for family outings!. I wish I could find out the history on Highlands to wear as when I first came to Florida we used to go there and they used to have a huge pool with a diving board a high dive excetera I was just looking for some history that's all

The pool here is so much fun! I enjoy the fact that they close after 4 hrs of swimming and then open up again for 4 hours because it’s hard to get little kids to leave the pool. But they understand “the pool is closing.” The playground is futuristic and the gymnasium is pretty nice. My kids have done the specialty summer camps and they enjoy the rec center here. If you’re a largo resident this place is a must visit.

We love this place! The indoor play area is great, suggest taking advantage of the times blocked for younger kids the first time if possible if you have 3 and unders. Weekends and rainy days can be quite busy with bigger kids. Also look for all the kid events, arts, sports, music, holiday events, etc. All very reasonably priced esp for residents who become a member. We haven't done the water park area yet but it looks amazing too!

Great facility as far as the massive property, pool, and parks. My review has to do with the school after care and summer programs. We have had multiple issues with bullying, our son seeing inappropriate things on older kids phones, just overall young “coaches” (teenagers) not properly caring for the kids. If your child is even slightly different (autism, adhd, disabled) please do not bring your child here. When he had his entire backpack thrown in a dumpster by an older kid (they say they separate them but they really don't) nothing was done. But when we accidentally took another kids water bottle home and it was lost we were asked to replace it? Like 3 times they must have asked. All those kids coming in at $75 a week and y’all cant afford a water bottle? Take that money and spend on proper training for your staff PLEASE. He has been hit and picked on over and over but when he defends himself against kids much older than himself, our child is the one reprimanded. Im sure because he has ADHD and is seen as a problem-child by the 18 year olds with bare minimum training who don't know any type of mediation or coping skills. We dealt with it for a while because they pick up from our sons school and not many places offer that. We will now be making other arrangements as we have seen our sons confidence take a huge hit and had him asking us concerning questions due to older kids showing him inappropriate videos on their phones (which theyre not allowed to have but always do?) & Don't get me started on the $600 pool party we paid for last year with the worst service from the staff and tons of random kids coming into our area. There were fully clothed adults that we paid $8 a person for to literally stand there. Thanks for the $600 dominos pizza!

Too my kids here to release dinner energy while on vacation. Only cost 6 dollars per child to play. Clean area, indoors so it was in AC (a huge plus during the FL heat!) A half wall surrounds the address so it is easy to ensure the kids do not leave the area with out your knowledge. A HUGE 3 story twisty slide was the highlight to my kids. Would HIGHLY recommend this to any parents needing to a place to allow their kids to burn some energy. I also saw a splash pad, basket ball courts, a gym etc at the center although I did not use these areas.

They discriminate and told me to take my disabled son somewhere where it would be easier for other kids to understand him do to his speech. They allowed a head injury to happen to my son and the lady the work over the department in the city hall business supports discrimination. If you're child looks like colorful, he will not be accepted. They put one black lady named Jessica over the facility but she is under the director Audrey and let me tell you...The director she let my at the time 5year old get jump on by a 9yr old and told me my son is the trouble maker. Jessica did nothing and asked that I don't report them to the NAACP But it's not worth endangering your kids and waisting your money. Look up parks and recreation for any city and go somewhere where else .... Beware of overpriced, Careless, rude, discriminating facility. It's cheaper places that get funded to make sure the kids are treated right.

I've been coming here with my daughters for years. Today my daughter went up the big slide and at the entrance there was human fecal matter flies and urine covering the slide. She said that there was a man inside! We called the main office and someone came right away.. Be careful if you take your children here!! They definitely need to check this out every morning, before children are traumatized or injured!!

My family and I love the Highland Rec center. Recently, we picked up some tennis rackets and decided to start playing. The tennis court was well-kept and the bushes around the courts make you feel like you're in your own private tennis courts, which is fun. Also helps cut down on the wind and especially windy days. The rec center has something for everyone. If you're looking for a great gym or a place to take the kids for a swim on a hot day, consider the highland rec center!

Friendly and helpful staff for our of frown guests! We enjoyed the indoor play area for a reasonable price and then retired another day for the Aquatic Center. It’s a great place for young children to play safely in the water.

Used one of the studios upstairs for a baby shower. The space is great and staff is very friendly and helpful! Was very happy with how everything turned out. Would definitely recommend for a small private event or even the other amenities that the Rec center offers.

It would be a 5 if it weren’t for the lifeguards, the facilities are clean, they have great programs for kids sports, and the pool is nice too. I will say this whole 2 session pool day nonsense isn’t cool, we’re happy to pay more to not have to leave for 30 minutes midday. They say it’s to give more people the opportunity to come to the pool but the people at the second session are typically the people from the first. Would I trust any of the lifeguards to put a bandaid on a kiddo let alone watch over them in the water? Definitely not. The guards here are probably the worst I’ve ever come across. To the point where it’s actually dangerous sometimes. My family and I have been coming to the pool here in the summer for a few years and unfortunately the lifeguards have never improved. They are constantly sending kids that are too small down the slides, talking with other guards and socializing in the guard chair not paying attention to what’s going on around them, letting kids sit at the bottom of the slides, and letting kids run on the slick pool deck. I understand that the guards are high school kids, but they definitely have no concept of how quickly a small kid can drown or how seriously injured someone could get out here. Luckily we’ve taught our kiddos water safety and to never get in the water here without us. It’s truly a shame, the guards at splash harbor and the ymca that used to be up the road were way more attentive and actually enforced safety rules. The picture attached is from 7/4/2022. Kids were running and jumping into the pool at the bottom of the slides and the girl in the guard chair could care less.
