Had a really great meal at La Casita. The Al Pastor Tacos were fresh, crispy, full of flavor, juicy, sweet from the grilled pineapple and savory with the perfect fattiness from the pork. I love it when the place serves a grilled green onion on the side. The Pancita (tripe soup) was also delicious and the perfect Sunday soup that was hearty, full of flavor and helps you recover so you can start the week right. It’s a hard soup to find and they only serve it on weekends but I’d highly recommend it - soup was mellow and had a slightly gamey flavor from the cuts of meat used. The place is cozy and the staff are super nice (shout out to Lindsey). Would definitely come back again.

Cute little lunch spot for a table of 2 or 4. I cant imagine coming with a party larger than 4 people, tho--the space doesn't seem like it can hold it. Food was delicious. They start you off with some freshly fried chips & two homemade sauces. I ordered a tamale and three different tacos-pescado, chorizo, and pollo. I enjoyed the tamale, pollo, and pescado tacos immensely. The chorizo was overcooked, dry, and some bites had burnt pieces. My brother ordered the shrimp tacos. They looked great. He has visited many times and continues to come back. Our serve was very polite and courteous. Prices were very fair. I would recommend.

The food was delicious. They seemed to be a bit low on wait staff, so service wasn’t as fast as we’d like. But the waiter that did serve us was great, he did a good job of working with everyone in a timely manner. I would certainly recommend to place to my friends and family

Great new Mexican restaurant in Highland Park!! The menu is giant! They have lot to offer. Food was amazing and prices very reasonable. All you can see was only $47! Unbelievable! The appetizer combo was 10 bucks and contained everything you can see on pic 2. The Milanesa was delicious, perfectly cooked, crunchy but not burnt. It comes with a side of salad La Casita Salad was vert good, it comes with a side of 3 tortillas which are brought inside a box that keeps then warm, just perfect. Lovely place, highly recommended! Oh, the only issue is that the service was kinda slow but it was totally worth it!

La Casita. If you’re into mole, or would like to try, this is top tier, the best I’ve had in a long time. Sweet, deep, complex - delicious. Many moles are from Oaxaca, but here the owner said it’s her grandmother’s recipe, and it’s excellent. That’s grilled cactus as a side. I followed it up with breakfast, the red sauce was authentic and good, the tamales very good too. The owner is a wonderful woman, doing her best, she will need an experienced waiter or waitress soon.

I recently moved into the nearby area and had been looking for authentic Mexican food. I was drawn to this place since it had good reviews but was still a little hesitant. After trying the food it did not disappoint! It was fresh and delicious. Portions were generous and price was reasonable. Something I loved is that the menu was huge with plenty of room for choice. If you get a chance I would say definitely give this place a try! I ordered for take out so not sure how the service is in person but my order was done super fast and they were courteous as I picked up.

Food was amazing but large portions so be careful. The prices were very reasonable. The food tasted fresh and was made quickly. The best was the person who was both the host and also he was the waiter. He was very kind, funny, professional and sincere. He was tentative while managing phone calls, waiting tables, clearing tables and seating guest. His work ethic was amazing and you can tell her really cared. Really worth checking out and I can't wait to go back.

This place is amazing!! The staff is always super kind, their food is even better. All homemade and authentic actual Mexican food!! Portions are huge and prices are amazing, came in an huge group and did not expect to pay so little for the bunch of us. Not to mention the atmosphere is super cute, clean and tidy. Every time I go I try something new and it always hits the spot

I fell in love with this place after visiting today. The flavor is amazing!!! I haven’t had authentic flavor like this in years. With every bite a smile developed and I couldn’t help but to order more. From the appetizer to the desserts it’s a 10 out of 10! It’s a very cozy laid back place with an authentic taste.

Good food at a good price. The service was a bit slow despite us being 1 of 2 tables sat. However I did notice that there were a lot of takeout orders at the same time so maybe that's why. We got an order of flautas and a cuban sandwich with Horchata and Hibiscus tea to drink. The Horchata was not the best but the Hibiscus was delicious. We'll be back to try other menu items.

This spot has your classic Mexican dishes and all day breakfast! They also have an assortment of freshly baked goods. Ambiance - plenty of natural lighting - small seating area - fresh flowers at the table are delightful! Service - friendly staff - staff could be more attentive at the table Foods - complimentary chips and salsa: the chips are perfectly crispy and fried fresh. Both salsas are pretty spicy and paired well with the chips - Tres Leches French Toast- there's nothing better than soft and freshly baked brioche soaked with tres leches sauce. You have to get the French toast with the strawberries and bananas! - Enfrijoladas con Pollo: rolled tacos smothered in refried beans. I really wanted to like this dish but unfortunately the chicken was pretty dry and overall the dish lacked seasoning This place is such a cute spot for brunch and hopefully I can come back soon to try out some of their other dishes!

Food was excellent and and the place is super cute. We had breakfast and the oatmeal pancakes were amazing, and the breakfast burrito was really good. Portion size was def more than enough. We came pretty early in the morning so the wait was a bit long but the food more than made up for it. And our waiter was lovely. Can’t wait to come back for lunch or dinner as well. Highly recommend!!

Everything I read was top rated but I couldn't find anything worth coming back for. It is very small with only 3 or 4 tables when you walk in however there is no privacy as people who come in are right on top of you and the cold air comes in so it's an uncomfortable setting. We requested to sit on the 2nd floor where there are 3 tables but they said they were reserved. The service is very slow there are 2 young kids taking orders clearing tables that were very good very helpful but they needed more help. They brought chips to the table that were harder than we were used to and the salsa was hot not mild. They don't have a liquor license so normally getting a margarita with our Mexican food was a no. We ordered a chicken chimichanga was lacking flavor and a cheese sauce. Maybe there are different styles of cooking Mexican food. We also ordered a chicken fajita and tortillas were not good. So we ordered a different tortilla and they charged extra. Basically again had no flavor The prices were not cheap and the portions were not huge

Great breakfast burrito. The jalapeños give a real kick, not just for visuals and they're generous with them. A while back we ordered shrimp with garlic sauce, which was amazing--great flavors. We got something else that was unremarkable so we forgot about them for a while. Now I'm excited to try more dishes.

Nice, cozy Mexican restaurant. The food is good. But need to improve on service. My plate came after my girlfriend finished her food. Also came a but cold

Delicious food. I got the vegetarian enchiladas with the green sauce. Great portions (not overwhelming and doesn't leave you feeling hungry either). The place is really cute and cozy. I left with some homemade tortillas to use for dinner and they kept well.
