Me and my husband stayed here for a concert across the street at Vivint. In the morning we came out to my back window of my car shattered. We talked with the desk worker, she acted like she didnt know how to go about handling it. When we asked for some trash bags to cover the broken window, she told us they didn’t have any and sent us to the Hyatt House next door for some bags. They make you pay $20 per night to park in their “secured parking garage” but have no cameras and claim they are not liable for damages. The room was fine, but will not stay here again simply because they would not do anything to help about the broken window. They could have at least reimbursed my $20. Will never stay here again.

Since the new owners took over the hotel, the service & customer service has deteriorated rapidly. Credit cards used to HOLD the reservation is being charged even though it was emphasized that the guest will be using their own credit card to be charged upon check-in. We've had numerous corporate meetings held at the same premises & guests staying at the hotel w/o any incidents. I expect better service and customer service from a Marriott brand.

Do not waste your time here! The front desk people are the worst part of it all!!! They are horrible at communicating with there team & they do nothin to help. We had already booked our rooms for 10 days and had already charged our card…yet to come to find out 8 hours later that they want to charge us more money for rooms we had already paid for! They try and give your rooms to other guests when they have already been booked! There continental breakfast isn’t “free” but a small box of cereal. This hotel is by far the worst place I have ever stayed in! Do yourself a favor & turn around!!

I stayed at the Courtyard for the Labor Day long weekend. The stay was comfortable and as expected from a mid-range hotel. Room was a good size to spread out, and was stocked with standard amenities. Unfortunately the pool was closed, but they had made an agreement with the Hyatt House next door to allow us to use their pool. The location is quiet so you do have to walk or drive a little to get to food options and attractions. Self parking is in a structure directly behind the hotel for $20/night.

If you plan on staying more than a few days, be prepared. Getting things like towels, toilet paper, coffee, etc, is quite difficult. You get a lot of pushback from the front desk and hand ringing when it is not done. Also, I stayed in one room on one side of the bed. After nearly 2 weeks, I pulled back the other side of the bed and found a quarter size blood stain on the sheets. I was given another room and told the manager would contact me, which never happened. The room itself is very nice, as are the amenities. The gym is top-notch and the wet area is above average. The elevator buttons are tricky and the common areas that include hand sanitizer, soap, paper towels are often empty. Just about every day, there was trash or crumbs in most of the common areas. Lastly, the "bistro" is useless. They are always out of anything other than pastries and overpriced and burnt coffee. The location is superior and salt lake City is an incredibly clean and well thought out city. As for this hotel, you could certainly do worse but could certainly do better. Two out of five stars. This could easily be a 5 out of 5 hotel with better staff and management.

Great place to stay and very convenient to Delta Center and The Gateway. Great value for the rate. Front office staff was super friendly and helpful at check in. I consistently have great experiences at Marriott properties and this was no different. Will definitely be returning!

Had a business trip in Salt Lake City. They don't offer shuttler to pick and drop off at the airport. Had to take a Uber, which cost about 15 dollars plus tips from the airport. The front desk staff are very friendly. The coffee shop bistro only opens for breakfast. I wasn't able to grab lunch togo. The location is really convenient. It's next to the Vivint Arena and the Gateway Plaza. The king bed room on the street side has great view. The only problem I have is the TV. Some channels shows black screen. I will still give the hotel 5 stars.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Came for a long weekend with the kiddo with plans for a lot of pool time. Too bad the heater is broken. Would have been nice to know before we came because we never would have stayed at a hotel where we can’t use the pool, with the pool being a big part of the trip plans. I understand things happen beyond their control, but how about telling your guests at check in and seeing if they still want to stay or giving them the option to cancel? Front desk staff is very unfriendly. Never a smile and no hint of trying to be helpful. Rooms are getting pretty tired. The toilet ran off and on all night. The light at the desk doesn’t work. Also, I came down to grab a late breakfast and it was already closed at 9:30.

I wish I could review individual employees because it seems like your Front Desk Supervisor Rachel T. would have her own dedicated tab on here! She is EXTREMELY rude and standoffish when trying to “assist” guests. I recently had an interaction with her where she decided to hide her name-tag halfway through to avoid some sort of condemnation for her actions (almost like she does this a lot!) and refused to give me a receipt for my refund until I involved a third party. I think the hotel itself looked very beautiful but your front desk service really ruined it all.

The only reason I give it a 4/5 rating is because the plumbing in our room wasn't the best. Water from shower and sink were draining very slow but other than that our experience was awesome! The Starbucks located inside the hotel was great, we didn't have to wait long for our order and the customer service was amazing!

Room were clean and modern. Beds were comfy and even had extra pillows. The location is easy to get to and nice being able to walk right across the street to the Delta Center. There is a food joint next door also and walking distance to the gateway. The pool was being worked on when we stayed there but we were given access to the pool at the Hyatt next door. Customer service was top notch. We didn't try the bistro.

I am surprised Marriott put their brand on this property. Construction is bad. I can hear neighbors talking, children running in the hallway above. Tent city of homeless fentanyl zombies 2 blocks away. Staff is pleasant though, that is one upside.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean and new, great location right next to the Delta Center. Cons: Low water pressure in shower, stopper broken on the tub, lock broken on bathroom door, cabinet door broken in room, elevator on third floor had a broken button so we couldn’t press to go down only up, loud wall mounted heater/AC unit, uncomfortable beds and flat lifeless pillows. I appreciate the cleanliness and very friendly staff, but for being new this hotel had a lot of odd issues and things broken that need attention. I won’t be coming back because the room just wasn’t very comfortable, only good looking.

The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the pillows immediately went flat. The layout of the suite was nice and the bathroom was laid out well. But it had no exhaust fan...so good luck after a shower or if someone used the toilet. It was also very unclear how the parking worked and I was not sure until we left if I was going to have to pay an extra $40 or not. And when the bill came, I was overcharged $39.76 to "cover damages" and told that it would be "released" in a few days. Fortunately, the rest of our trip was fun and took our mind off the terrible bed and lack of adequate sleep we got. If they replace the beds with something more comfortable than a wooden plank, it might be worth staying again.

Great hotel and very comfortable. It’s quiet, in a great spot, and the people that work here are all super friendly. I very much enjoyed my stay. The shower was a bit to get figured out; I couldn’t get it to turn off. Once I figured out the magic combination of levels in the right positions, though, it was just fine.

Overall the rooms are nice and we were right across from the Delta Center which we were there to see a show at.. so location was great! The guy at check in was super friendly!

As a platinum member of Marriott, my minimum expectation is that the wall outlet, receptacles, in my room work and enable me to charge my computer, iPad, phone, electric razor and electric toothbrush. Ironically, my job is sales and I sell receptacles. Can you imagine how I felt when none (zero) of the receptacles worked. I couldn’t even iron my clothes!!! To resolve my dilemma, I ended up having to move furniture away from the wall to access a working receptacle. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, I was told if I really want results to post this review because Marriott listens more to guest than their own employees. Hey franchise owner, you know who you are, I will never stay here again and will spread the word to others not to stay here.

Fantastic service from night manager checked in on Sunday after a crazy trip into town, our bags were lost, we had gotten in well after midnight and the front desk / night audit was fantastic. Such a nice gentlemen’ I wish I got his name. But I informed Vanessa the morning agent about him. She was very kind as well and helped with a late check out as we needed to wait for airport to receive our bags!

I was told I would get a refund because I had an emergency situation. Was told my money would post back on my card but it would take awhile. It never did so I went back to talk to them and it showed I was checked in for 5 hours then they put it from one room back to 0 rooms but they didn't respect their word and said they now wouldn't refund my $. It was my school college funds and I needed the $ back. I wouldn't waste your $ or time with them.

My room was cramped without adequate storage. The hot tub didn't work, and noise from the arena made it difficult to sleep

Love this hotel! I have stayed here many times. Always clean, comfortable, and friendly staff. Close to many things and to the metro rail.

My wife and I's stay at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Salt Lake City Utah was horrific. So bad in fact that we didn't even get the chance to stay. We booked our room far in advance and drove 13 hours straight from Seattle only to find out that our room had been cancelled. What?! Come to find out that your sales manager had cancelled our room 30 minutes before we arrived. Then they sent us our cancellation via email. No call, just email. 13 hours on the road. Straight. Your people have phones. Also apparently they had cancelled it earlier in the day but did not tell us until 30 MINUTES BEFORE WE ARRIVED. And then when we expressed our plight to both of your concierge, whos' customer service could excite rocks, they let us know that they found us a CHEAPER room at another hotel. We didn't ask for that. They booked us a room at a Residence Inn by the airport. We've stayed at this residence inn before. It's in a dangerous part of town. But maybe they thought because we were black, we'd fit in. We told them that we were not going to stay there and to fix this issue. They must have not understood. Maybe a training issue? Do you understand the level of patience it takes to truly not blow up on an employee very clearly displaying their lack care about your situation? And we didn't come in mean, didn't insult them, that's not our M.O. Why do you hire people like this? Because as customers, we felt like we would have been appreciated a little bit more if our skin color fit in with the town. That much was clear. And then the situation was ONLY fixed because I GOT ON THE PHONE with a Marriot bonvoy rep who was able to get us a room at a Residence Inn in a better area. THATS RIGHT, I DID YOUR EMPLOYEES' JOB. Your bonvoy rep displayed so much better customer service, and the concierge at the Residence inn to. They both empathized with our plight and offered a fix. They were amazing. A cold glass of water on a parched day. THAT is how you do it. I don't know what kind of race-preferring jokers you hire to work your front desk at that Courtyard Marriott. Your concierges failed you. Here's the silver lining, we still had to pay for the room at the Residence Inn. No offer to comp or discount. But seeing how things were going, maybe WE shouldn't have expected anything at all. I would very much like to remedy this situation properly.

Moved across the country and it was the worst travel ever and while waiting for our place to be available we had to stay at a hotel for the night. We looked online and they advertised parking and after our 45 hour journey we arrive and the truck wouldn’t fit in parking. So, we didn’t even get to check in/stay, the staff was rude and told us to figure it out ourselves, and there seems to be no management because when I call to ask about any sort of refund nobody answers the phone. I’ll be reaching back out to corporate. What does a billion dollar company need with my one night hotel money…do better

The hotel was clean and pretty however there is no parking for the hotel so you have to pay an additional $20 per vehicle for the public parking. Additionally, the "free" breakfast is cereal. Nothing else. You have to pay for the milk for the cereal. They do have fruit and muffins at an additional fee but they claim to have a free continental breakfast which is boxed cereal. We came over the weekend with kiddos and got 2 rooms which were well over $500 per night and were hit with additional charges for basic hotel parking and a measly breakfast. Hyatt House is right next door and we think the better, cheaper option.

Very nice clean room in downtown location next to Utah Jazz arena. King bed is spacious but pull out sofa was not a queen size as promised, more like a twin and a half. Great location for downtown sights but paid extra $20 for parking. Overall recommended by the Captain.
