Located right next to the Reid park zoo, this park has a large lake with lots of ducks. There are actually 2 lakes, with a waterfall and stream connecting them. The signs say its reclaimed water, but the ducks don't seem to mind. Theres plenty of shade and parking. Restrooms available on site. Free parking.

It's a big lake to fish in and have a picknick there is plenty of space to hike around also. Take a canopy or umbrella to be able to block the sun since it's short on that. I always have a great time here with the kids.

Great Park, lots of sports fields, dog park, couple of ponds with ducks and geese. Playground for the kids with jungle gym equipment, as well as picnic / barbecue areas for folks to have gatherings.

Nice park conveniently located in the back yard of Hi Corbett Field. Everything looked cool but they could definitely stay ontop of keeping the bathrooms clean a bit more. Lots of playgrounds for kids and lots of parking though.

Such a cute little zoo! The staff are super friendly and even on the weekend when it's busy there's still enough room for everyone. I love how the exhibits are set up. The landscaping is beautiful and there's always something to see.

Went to the crafts fair. It was likened to a small version of the 4th Avenue Street Fair. A lot of talented people and their products. It was a little windy, but did turn into a beautiful day. Lots of people, and as a result, I would have liked to have wider walking space. I kept having the same 3 kids on my heels to the point I would have to move over. Food was not so hot. $12 for a burrito that had waxy tasting tortilla wasn't very good and small. The kettle Korn was amazing. It smelled and tasted delicious. Glad I went.

The Reid Park Zoo has continued to be an amazement for both kids and adults. See so many animals learn. Also the landscape of the zoo truly takes you out of the Tucson desert.

Beautiful park with a variety of trees! There’s a dog park that’s inside a fenced in area and several picnic tables throughout. There are also a few covered areas, like a pavilions, that have access to electric. I believe you can reserve these ahead of time online. There’s a couple public restrooms and there are trash cans throughout. The crew that takes care of the park stays on top of its cleanliness and you can tell they take pride in their work. There is also shaded parking areas and some baseball fields. If it had a solid water feature, it would be a 5 ⭐️ park. Being from Louisville, Kentucky, I am spoiled with the beautiful parks we have back home. All in all, I love Reid Park and go there when I can to relax and enjoy all the sounds or to people watch. UPDATE 05/02/2022: I found the water feature! Enter Reid Park from 22nd at the entrance after the Zoo entrance. They have a shaded parking area on the left and on the right of the parking area, you will see the pond. There is a small stream that runs into the pond. There are lots of ducks and other birds present. Reminder to never feed the ducks there! Very nice shaded areas around the pond and there are restrooms very close. Additionally at this entrance is a Cancer memorial. Very beautiful memorial! And then next to that they have horseshoe pits inside a fenced in area. A lot to see here at Reid Park! 5 ⭐️

The park is usually very clean. It seems popular because there are always a lot of people there. I go for exercise, so I only really know about the walking around experience. But it does look like there are some new playgrounds in a few different spots around the park. The rose garden is nice. The ponds are my favorite stopping spot. There are always a lot of birds to watch.

Large city park with two ponds, man-made creeks and waterfalls and a water fountain in the middle of one of them. Lots of green lawns, a playground, covered picnic tables.... everything you would want in a large city park. My biggest disappointment with this park is with so much water and two ponds...fishing is not allowed. Then again they don't really have any fish in there I think. I just saw some minnow size one swimming around in the merky water. They don't even have koi. Of course if they did have koi...or any fish, the millions of the turtles in the ponds would probably eat them. The pods are overrun with turtles which to me is kind of cool to see them. But it would also be nice if they had koi if you can't at least fish the ponds. I received a letter from the mayor of Tucson in the past after complaining about no fishing at Reid park. He mentioned something about it was on the books or proposed to deepen the ponds so that fishing could be done there.

Nice Park. Refreshing walk on a hot day. Relaxing. Looks like people here actually pick up their dogs $hit. Either that or they have good maintenance staff.

Sadly, this is probably one of the only places that I found that has a inclusive swing. Most people usually see us coming in the wheelchair and step away from the swing. I strongly suggest bringing some sanitary wipes as the swing is dirty and if you have a medically complex child to get sick often, you might want to sanitize. If you have other kids, the main playground is pretty well. Done but definitely not wheelchair friendly. The picnic areas are pretty nice. Definitely well used. The bathrooms are mediocre. Usually pretty grimey . If you ask me. It is in the middle of Tucson so it’s a city park. I did see a few shady looking characters there, but they kept their own and watched from afar. I always keep mace anyway, just in case one is a bit loony and wants to cause problems.

They just added a new playground near the outdoor park and it is excellent. There is a space designated for toddlers and a space for older children. My daughters and I love coming here to play and feed the ducks. The many trees make it a fun visit even in the summer. There is also a really nice track that circumnavigates the entire park including the nearby golf course. The rose park is a fun little spot to visit, and there is a dog run, which I don't use, but I see used often.

Love it everytime! The kids have so much fun looking at the animals and feel free to run around without getting in trouble. Zoo keepers are always willing to explain to you any questions regarding the animals, you can really tell they love to be working there.

I love coming here. I bring dogs here all the time to train and let them roam free in the dog park. All the dogs I have ran into are always friendly. The pond is beautiful. I love seeing it at night. There is three waterfalls and the smell of them is good. It takes me back to the mountains.

We actually went to the Asian Lantern Festival at the Reid Park Zoo. It was very well done. This is our second year of attending the event. I highly recommend it not only for the benefit the zoo receives but as a wonderful night out. The weather was perfect and I really enjoyed being outside instead of in a structure.

Great memories going here as a little girl for school field trips. There was a playground that had what seemed to be a slide, shaped like a rocket, that was hundreds of feet tall. Probably not really, but it was too 6 year old me. The lake, the ducks. Good times. Then when I was older, thing to the Casa Car Show with my friends.

I am a dog owner and actually really liked this park. There was lots of space for my dog to run around in and he did not have to be on leash. They have disc golf, a really cool play area for the kids, a little water feature in the middle of the park, some shade, and we parked our RVs and had lunch and sat in the sun for a few hours. Bike trails all over the place too. Nice little peaceful park, clean restrooms.

Really nice park for a walk alone, with friends, pets, for a jog or some fun time with your kids, since there are multiple playgrounds, there's also a rose garden, benches and gazebos, you can watch ducks, geese and turtles in the water and just chill.

It was quite nice. There was a drum circle, and lots of people. Even in a regular wheelchair, the ground was hard enough for me to navigate. We brought 4 grand kids with us. They loved it.

Such a nice sized zoo for smaller kids. Not too big, and the animals are all active. Plus they have the new dinosaurs that move and make sound.

Great park, lots of people enjoying the outdoors. Some bathrooms are old. Been a long time since I've seen one of the old school concrete pipe drinking fountain. It didn't work, so I couldn't reminisce the 1970s Rusty pipe taste.

As your Local Tucson Realtor I find Reid C. Park as a great place to spend the afternoon for a quick trip to the Zoo, a run or walk through the park or a great way to have a leisurely chat on a park bench

  • 3/5 Evan B. 8 months ago on Google
It's a park used to have paddle boats and stuff doesn't anymore. It gets a lot of very use that's kind of fun but between the baseball stuff and the golf course next to it and the zoo every part of it has kind of a dedicated use. Dave stuff so much different things into it that there isn't really much open space anymore.

One of Tucson's best parks. Huge variety of places to visit...a duck pond, a Rose Garden. Great playground equipment, golf course, nice dog park, terrific swimming facility ( covered and separate heated indoor therapeutic pool---be sure to check online for times available). Grocery store (22nd St) caticorner from park means you can stop there & take your provisions to the park for a surprise picnic !

Very nice park with plenty to do. Nice walks with scenery. Clean for the most part. Bathrooms can be a bit dirty at times. Not a big deal, nothing major. Also they have covered parking. Kids seem to enjoy the playground. Picnic areas are also nice. I stop from time to time.

I arrived to find that the park was very busy at the time. However, the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. I brought a young pit-bull with me and although he was nervous at first, he could sense that the park was a safe place to be, and before anyone could know it, he was rolling on his back to get all the belly rubs that he could solicit. There were an ample amount of playgrounds for the three children that accompanied me; with many activities to choose from. The only thing that detracted from the visit was the bathrooms. Some of them smelled bad and others were just plain dirty. I saw park employees trying to keep up with the busyness that the park was experiencing. I think that there should be more staff available to handle busy days there. My visit was very enjoyable and the children had played until nearly exhausted; which worked out for me in the long run because dinner, bath, and bedtime came in rapid order without any complaints. Thank you Gene C. Reid Park for a wonderful time!
