My husband underwent hernia surgery at this hospital approximately five months ago. While the care provided to my husband pre and post-op, as well as during the surgery, was commendable, my experience as his caretaker was less than satisfactory. I was disappointed with the hospital's communication regarding my husband's surgery. I was simply instructed to drop him off and pick him up at the curb, and I was not kept informed during the procedure. When I inquired about my husband's status after the specified time had passed, the staff at the front desk were not particularly compassionate and made me feel anxious about my husband's condition. I had many questions about my husband's recovery and was eager to ensure that he received appropriate pain management. Unfortunately, the surgeon and nurses were not willing to address my concerns. I would have appreciated more guidance on how to administer medication and manage his pain, as this was an area of significant concern for me. Additionally, the billing and management practices of the hospital left much to be desired. It has been five months since the surgery, and we continue to receive unexpected bills for hundreds of dollars of care that was not clearly explained to us. We have had to navigate multiple rounds of communication with the hospital to resolve these issues. Overall, while my husband's care was satisfactory, my experience as his caretaker left me feeling frustrated and unsupported. I suggest that improvements be made in terms of communication, patient education, and billing practices.

Arrived at Banner at 8pm because after taking my boyfriend to urgent care to see why he was having serious abdominal pain, the doctor at urgent care said he might possibly have appendicitis. So we get to Banner at 8pm and wait 2 hours for the nurses to take him in the back to check his vitals. Then we wait another 2 hours for them to draw blood. It is now 4am and he has still not been called to see what the results are! It's been 8 hours and still waiting! Absolutely ridiculous for no one to even at least come out and check if my boyfriend is doing alright. Worst hospital I have ever been to.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. You better be able to feed yourself and bath yourself you wont see a nurse nor a cna with the current ratios between patients and nurses. cna's don't exist and nurses are having to run while management tells them they are over budget and they need to do more with less. This is the only hospital ive ever been to where the rooms are only equiped with broken run down equipment and nurses struggle to find every piece of equipment as small as a pulse oxygen meter. staff is actually allowed to come back to work after 72 hrs of being infected with covid if they are vaccinated they want you to think they are fighting the battle seems they are keeping people sick. when people who are there for other ailments die from covid because they go by the CDC's lose statement of "probably most likley not contagious after 10 days and mix those people back in with general hospital population. Stay Away from this place your life depends on it. the thing about being all about budget and not about the sanctaty of life is that your staff will have loose lips in the halls.

Disgusting. Vile. Clear favouritism and sexism. How can you preach about patient care when they’re quite literally the last thing on anyone’s mind. I completely understand with COVID that it isn’t what it used to be, however it’s absolute abhorrent for the sick and dying to be sat in HALLWAYS. Spoke to some lovely folks who had been sat waiting for 5 hours and another for 3. Was the lucky one to get to triage and gone back to another waiting area. Struck up conversation with a woman who’d been there for 14 hours. How do urine and blood going to the lab seem to take ages? How does simple compassion disappear? Not a single person would check on us in the hallway. Dehydration can cause a heightened white blood count and I truly hope that a misdiagnosis wasn’t the goal. Didn’t remember his name but a doctor showed clear favouritism and sexism to another woman. Dismissed her while talking real friendly with a male patient. If you’re going to be a doctor, you’ve got to be for EVERY patient and not just the ones you would prefer. To whomever reads these, do spare me the HR styled response and simply do better. The sick and dying deserve more than to be treated like they’re nothing but rubbish.

To the Nursing staff I was never treated with such Dignity and Compassion I couldn't thank you Enough. To the Doctors I went in with One life threatening concern and you found Two other major issues with looking back You Saved My Live. How does one Thank you. I know I will show up to my follow ups 😏. The one issue was the time it took having to go Back. You are placed in a room with other sick but no family it's Scary being alone when it's life threatening. Maybe Directors will work to improve this now that they are aware. After reading a few comments this is most of everyone's concern Thank you so so much I like Leaving you'll always be in my good memories

The woman at the front desk was friendly and efficient. She was patient and understanding of everyone who came in there. I went to the triage area quickly. That's as far as my good experience went. I had my own diagnosis of S 1 nerve root impingement from an MRI that I had done and took the result with me. This was causing severe pain in my left lower back/hip area and numbness in my left foot. During the 5.5 hours that I then sat in the waiting room, my pain got increasing worse from sitting. As I sat there in the waiting room I realized that the nurse in the triage area, although friendly, did not ask me my pain level. As a retired nurse, I know this is a rather basic part of assessing a patient's pain. My pain was obvious since I limped in using a cane. In the small area of the waiting room my husband and I were aware of the very difficult situation some of these other patients were in. It was also impossible not to hear the front desk interview with new patients arriving, at least one of which arrived after I did and was taken back to the treatment area and released while I was there. Some of these people walked in looking perfectly comfortable almost seemed to be making up their symptoms as they went along. They knew how to work the system. It looked as though the waiting room had not been cleaned in a while. I used the restroom while I was there. Of the two restrooms available, although clean, one was out of toilet tissue and the other out of hand towels. After 5.5 hours of waiting with my pain level increasing I decided to go home. I could be in pain there and at least have the option of laying down. I just wanted something to relieve the pain, even partially. That was Friday afternoon/evening. I'll have to deal with this for the weekend and hope to get to my PCP on Monday.

Its 1:32 am in the morning and I can't sleep because i am in pain from robotic assisted removal of a large mass on my adrenal glad and they are withholding pain medication. My third dose is ibuprofen which is not doing a thing for me. They have a solution to this in their medicine cabinet but yet I am being made to lay here and experience pain. This is not ok. I got the silly Ibuprofen at midnight, then at 1:30 am told the nurse that it didn't do anything for me and she said she would come come my room. 3:30 am she never came to my room but some doctor did and finally I got a dose of oxycodone. The thing is, even the single dose of oxycodone wasn't doing it and they had the option to give me two but chose not to. I should not have to be in pain in a hospital. There is a time and place for narcotic drugs and this was it. They shouldn't be stingy with it. I shouldn't be laying half the night awake because the pain is keeping me up. Also, they never gave me the button to remotely call the nurse to my bed so each time I had to get up heeving in abdominal pain to go to the nurses desk to complain about my pain. The bed barricade that has the controls to raise and lower the bed was down and inaccessible to me for most of my stay so I had to use all of my cut abdominal muscles to raise and lower myself out of the bed. I even had to ask for a blanket as only a top bed sheet was provided. The nurse apologized for never making it to my room but also said "I was busy, let's not make a big deal out of this" which was a back handed apology. The stinginess with real pain medication bothered the most because I was in pain and didn't sleep half the night. Banner can get ahold of me for further input. You have my full name and date in the attached photo so you can find me.

Got an appointment for an ultrasound @7:15 on a Saturday. Drove over an hour and 15 minutes from Nogales, got there only to be told they didn't open till 8 am... apparently their protocol is to make people get there an hour before appointment! To make things less palatable I was told they had to bump my appointment because emergency dept has priority. Someone needs to be replaced with AI immediately. Banner would save tons of money if they followed the French health system: hardly any receptionists, appointments are done online with no CRS to deal with, doctor not only does exam but is there to explain results, no more repetitive questions from " admissions", more patient friendly, more effectiveness less of the chaos that dominates their operations.

I was scheduled for a procedure that required me not to eat for 2days, very nauseous and it caused a migraine, I go in to have the procedure and I'm stuck in the waiting room for over an hour. No one came out to mention they where running behind, I had to catch a nurse. Awful experience. Hire more people.

I spent 4 days in Banner South 3 weeks ago for surgery; one of them mostly waiting in check in. I had the worst care, I fell one night because the nurses we're the worst and wouldn't answer the call button. After follow up with the surgeon I found out the hospital lost my liver and gallbladder biopsies before they were even tested. After posting this review, Banner contacted me that they were investigating the issues and would get back with me "shortly". I have not heard from them since. I am thinking I need to contact an attorney. One thing to mistreat you in the hospital but I needed the results of the "misplaced" biopsies.

My husband is on dialysis. He was sent to the ER for labs. My husband made it to the hospital at 6:00pm. He sat in the lobby until 6:00am the following day. Now, his levels are through the roof. Finally got labs drawn, but it was right before shift change, so the labs didn't get put in. They were ran again and those weren't done as well. This is totally unexceptable behavior. My husband is swollen because of all the fluid retention. But the hospital dropped the ball with not admitting him. I feel that I I need to be speaking with my lawyer

Awful. My fiancé was involved in an accident and had to get checked out and had to get X-rays done for his collarbone and we got there at 10:30 pm and we’re still waiting for results at almost 3 am. The nurses in the front were absolutely rude. Beyond unacceptable. The bathrooms are atrocious… they want you to wear a mask but can’t keep the bathrooms clean or check if it needs to be cleaned etc. we have been in the waiting room for over 4 hours and not once did anyone go in and clean it… unsanitary but god forbid you take your mask off for a split second and the nurses in front are all over you. I get it’s a hospital and wait times are expected but for an X-ray? Come on now get it together. I’ll rather take my chances at St. Mary’s before coming back here.

My mom was brought here by ambulance for bad back pain and also COVID. They would not admit her. She came back with the same issues a few days later, but the ED doc admitted her for low blood oxygen. It turns out she had a UTI that was causing the back pain. On the second trip, they lost her ID and insurance cards.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They had my very sick mother waiting in a waiting room with an IV for 6 hours! The nurses were extremely rude and unprofessional. You can tell they don’t like their job just in it for the money. Would not recommend anybody to come here

Waiting is obviously a given in most if not all medical environments so I’m not bothered at the wait time, I arrived at 6:40 for an appointment at 8 with the Endoscopy department and was finished, out of my procedure and awake by 9:30. This includes registration as well as the prep time so it went fast considering some other wait times in these reviews. The nursing staff was so unbelievably kind and calming me down every step of the way, answered every question I had, and they even let me squeeze their hand when I was scared. I’ve never had nurses like that before so it was amazing how attentive and kind they were. I remember one nurse her name was Kelly she was the anesthesiologist nurse and was awesome. There was a couple other nurses and amazing staff members who helped me out during my stay that were all so so caring and amazing but can’t remember their names right now sadly, but I hope they know how great they are and how much their good attitude changed the outcome of a scary situation.

Really bad service. My brother and I had to wait 7 hours in the lobby. Not also us, someone older than us was waiting too. At the end, we ended up leaving because no one cared. The three of us. Just horrible in general!

Love Banner. Have used it for years. Only reason I’m giving them a one star for my review, is because of the Pharmacy person, Elizabeth. She has never been pleasant any time I have gone in there and truthfully, she shouldn’t be working with people. I have never had such a “Karen” experience in my life. Woman was extremely rude when all I needed was to pick up my 2 year olds pain meds for a recent surgery he had and she gave me the dirtiest looks and was just talking down to me. Never using this pharmacy again. Thanks, Elizabeth!

Daughter in emergency room for 3 days so far. Was on ventilator no ICU rooms available. Called to check on visiting and was told 1 person per 24 hour period. When I arrive was told her nurse would be out as soon as they could. While waiting was told had to get a bracelet to be in ER. You have t to go to the main entrance to get one. I've a walker then go back around back to wait.

So the place for compassionate care can't even bother to keep your appointments. And there is no higher up you can speak to either. My Rheumatologist is supposed to see me every 3 months or do labs every 3 months to monitor my medication. They schedule 6 months out. They cancel and schedule another 3 months out, they cancel and schedule again another 3 months out. What kind of any care is this? Get your act together and don't waste peoples time. You are playing with my health and my life.

Well let’s see I’m a type 2 diabetic wha has no insulin and no supplies. I went in diabetic sick at 9 am on last may 30th. I and 5 other people sat in ER until 4:30 next morning they finally put me in back and just as I was placed on my room the guy next to me had a heart attack and died. They acted so mean and with no feelings. I have never seen someone die and I couldn’t handle it. By time 7 am rolled around they still hadnt let me see a doctor and I’ve been here for 24 hours I got up and left this hospital and will ever return again. I have never seen such lazy and mean nurses DONT GO THERE. I TBINK OT MAY BE A ORGAN STEALING HOSPITAL.

I had a total hysterectomy on Monday the 21st. The staff was absolutely amazing! All my questions were answered and everyone was very caring and helpful. My pre op, surgery, and recovery room care was amazing. I got to go home the same day and I thank that on all the amazing people that helped me through this journey. I highly recommend. After reading some reviews I was actually a little unsettled but my experience was above and beyond. If I had to do it all over again I would do it at this hospital with all the same people.

Idk where to leave this at but here’s 2 things. As a patient in the ER (one time) it was a terrible experience and I’ll never go again. BUT I do see their doctors as my PCP and other specialty care and I’ll give those doctors a 10/10. On a real note, you guys are always saying how much you “need people” so bad. But I apply and apply and apply for the past 8 months and all I get is rejection letters like an hour later ?? I have years of experience & a student nurse. All I wanted to do was to get a job as a PCT, shoot even a person who mops the floor, ANYTHING so I can support myself and daughter financially while I sit through school. But nope. Every single time, it’s a rejection letter an HOUR after me posting my application. I give up. Whoever is in charge of reading applications is either not doing their job or relying too much on the computer which in turn, still isn’t doing the job correctly. Don’t be confused when you can’t hire anyone. There’s a reason why. I would look into it. I won’t apply again though. Just a tip for everyone who’s also struggling finding jobs.

My mother was in and out of several hospitals and banner south ICU took amazing care of her, the nurses even did her hair every day while she was there. The doctors made sure I was aware of everything that was going on every single day and provided me with updates and ensured I understood what was going on. Thank you so much for the care that was given while my mom was in your ICU, your staff was amazing and I'm so thankful for everything you did for my mom.

This was a terrible outcome. My son was admitted for an involuntary psychiatric evaluation which was difficult enough to get, and I was never contacted by a doctor. He completely snowballed supposed professionals and they released him. I had no choice but to pick him up which I had no intentions of doing initially but could not have him sent out to the streets again with narcotic prescriptions. Unbelievable! After 2 days, he is of course gone and out on the streets again, psychotic. What a joke! Our entire system for mentally ill and addicted adults is broken and this place is just another money machine.

Had a very positive experience at my vascular appointment. The staff was amazing from when I arrived to when I went home. It was a relief to get the important information needed with explained possible vascular surgery options. Rebecca Humpal, ARNP, DNP is outstanding in the Vascular Department. I'm very satisfied with the excellent level of care she provides and I will be returning for my follow up appointment. Thank you!

The staff at Banner South Campus (aka Kino Hospital) GI Clinic are outstanding - they are patient, kind, attentive, and their overall quality of care is excellent. From the moment you first enter the main entrance"s reception desk, PAS representative (Erica), nurses, doctors, the anesthesiologist, technician, clean up crew, and recovery staff. I've had a great experience for all 3 of my outpatient procedures (2021 - 2023). Thank you everyone! God bless you

Just really tired of being treated like I'm a big fat idiot who doesn't know what I'm talking about and just annoy the staff by trying to get them to listen. Multiple dismissive doctors over the past year, a dismissive lady who did a test for this morning, and a rude MA twice over the phone today. "I've been feeling awful for months, and I've rapidly gained a massive amount of weight and am retaining so much water that my feet and ankles swell so big I can barely walk sometimes." "Maybe you should lose weight" 🥴 "I work out multiple times a week and track what I eat" "Maybe you should try diet and exercise so you can lose weight" 🥴 "My ability to exercise is going down rather than up, and I get short of breath doing almost nothing at this point" "Maybe you should try diet and exercise to lose weight" 🥴 "I've lost my appetite and have been eating less but still gaining weight" "Maybe you should try to eat less to lose weight" 🥴 "I'm really concerned. I'm too young to be having all these issues that have rapidly gotten worse. What could be going on?" "Idk, you're too young for these health problems. Even the 75 year old before you performed better than you. Want a referral for bariatric surgery?" 🥴 "I'm here for a cardiology appointment because my blood pressure has skyrocketed and there were some abnormalities on my ekg when I went to urgent care" "How about I just give you a referral for bariatric surgery to lose weight" 🥴 "My blood pressure has been at 160/100 consistently for months and months at home and at al my other doctor visits, it seems questionable that it's suddenly at 100/60 today" "Every other blood pressure machine just probably wasn't calibrated correctly and this one is accurate" 🥴 "OK, so if the blood pressure is truly down to 100/60, I wouldn't need to start a new medication to lower my blood pressure, right?" "Stop being difficult. The doctor can't help you if you refuse to take the prescriptions he gives you." 🥴 "I'm not going to take this particular medication. I already took that a few months ago and had to stop because of the side effects." "Well you should have predicted he would prescribe that and told him that verbally beforehand instead of expecting him to review your chart or get a medical history." 🥴 "I'd like to only start one medication at a time and space them out a little so if I have side effects, I have a better idea which medication is causing them." "Here are 4 new medications. I'm going to make a note that you're refusing to follow the regimen the doctor gave you." 🥴 Trying to get into a new doctor who was recommended as one of the few who will listen to patients...had to schedule 7 months out. Will be worth it if this one is better, assuming I'm not dead by then 🤞

Seriously one of the worst ran emergency room I have ever been too. The nurses talking too my daughter rudely and she is only 11 and this is supposed too be a children's trauma center.. seems like the nurses here don't give a flying you know what about their patients . They're just there for the paycheck obviously And don't ask for directions cause when I asked the same question too 4 different nurses I got 4 different answers I mean the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing in this establishment. I recommend going to the trauma 1 level center that's just a few more miles north. They are fantastic up there.

Most incompetent hospital to ever exist. Waiting 7+ hours waiting to be seen (and it was dead) and the staff were impossibly slow and rude! We ended up leaving because my wife's anxiety ramped up due their shenanigans. And when you make my wife unduly angry you have to deal with an angry me. Security was very condescending and patronizing. Actually calling the security licensing board and having the security staff hiinvestigated. Extremely unprofessional staff! Do NOT GO HERE!!! Update: was supposed to have a heart screening at the cardiology clinic and was treated like utter trash by the "employee's at the front desk. Olive in North Tucson, so no idea why I had to go there. Anyone who's been in Tucson for 2 minutes knowstha traffic snarls. This happened to us and were delayrd getting there. Also the entrance we were told to go in told us to go to the other part of the place. We got there the "lady" (I use that term very loosely) decided to give my wife and I and attitude.bThe moron next to her spoke down to us and was VERY condescending. We tried talking to the higher ups😓but got the runaround. I missed work for this?! Total and iitrr incompetence unprofessionalism.

Place is completely unprofessional. Bad experience from first walking in untill I walked out. Went in because my foot was injured . They said it was just a sprang came to find out it was broken when I had a appointment with a orthopedic from st Mary’s. Some of the people there are also there just for there check not because they want to be there which is understandable, just one of the first times where I can actually feel it and felt unwelcomed and uncomfortable. I went to feel better ended up coming out feeling worse.

Over the Christmas holidays I was in the ER-South diagnosed with Flu. Had a Chest CT to rule out Pneumonia (never received results). All staff was wonderful especially my very compassionate Resident. After 9 1/2 hours an attending doctor threatened to have me arrested if I attempted to leave. It seems my oxygen level was a bit low, he equated this to being drunk. I did leave AMA.

Terrible wait times, no communication from staff whatsoever. Worst hospital I've ever been to. The two paramedics who picked up my fiance were the exception. They were kind and sympathetic. They were even shocked my fiance was not seen when they saw him in the same spot hours later. Avoid this hospital at all costs.

I went to the ER for chest pain. WORST MISTAKE EVER. They initially responded quickly. However, then they stuck me in a room and waited three days to review my results. This is a scam to get more money from your insurance. If you ask to be discharged, they say they won’t send billing to your insurance company if they aren’t ready to let you go. Secondly, one department doesn’t communicate with another. I had to wander around and find different people to get answers. Also the room I had in outpatient observation was infested with ANTS, had a leaking sink, and one bathroom to 35 rooms. NEVER GO TO BANNER

I've been sitting for over 5 hours to wait to be seen. Nobody gives you any updates. Anytime you ask your told to you're next on the list you're next on the list. I have never and fifty years of living waited this long at an emergency room. Returning to Banner Hospital on Ajo and never again never like Banner on Campbell and not sure why we even came here. Well it's now Wednesday when we showed up on Tuesday still waiting to see a doctor. On the automated computer message of contact us will solve anything I'm sitting right here asking you to solve it now. I've been here since 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday if I was a patient we would have left. Absolutely the worst scare ever

We were lied to about the service we recived or didn't receive. We filed a grievance and the Cheif Medical Officer Of Clinical Outcomes couldnt even get the information that we gave him relayed back to us correctly. Neither did he reach out to clarify. They minimize their mistakes to what is standardized and want to charge for excellence. I do not endorse the sub par quality of care we received as a family. Go to an other hospital that practices person centered care not staff and administration centered care.

Banner hospitals are a joke to begin with, but this one is awful! The wait times are absolutely atrocious! And I'm not speaking about the E.R. either! We waited for over 2 hours, for a scheduled appointment! For a procedure that I have had done at Northwest hospital, and been in and out in literally 20 minutes. Highly recommend going somewhere else! They waste your time and your money!

I have had Banner health care for almost ten years. Since moving to Tucson in 2015 I have had nothing but issues with the way things have been coded. I have spent way too much time on the phone on my days off trying to get it fixed and covered. Last year my kiddo had to have a tilt table test. It was supposed to be completely covered by my insurance with the exception of the copay. I deliberately picked the insurance with the high premiums to make sure stuff like this is covered. The test was not done in the hospital. In fact it was done in a doctor's office at the north campus off of Allen. I receive a bill for just under $250 for the test claiming I owed a 20% co-insurance for an outpatient hospital test. After three hours going back and forth between Aetna and Banner and several days waiting they said it was how it was coded and then billed. I spent several months calling Aetna and Banner to get it re-coded appropriately. Instead of having it taking care of, I was sent to collections. I have had to pay fraudulent charges because of the way the office is coding and billing to my insurance. This isn't the first time either. If you are going to have a test make sure you investigate how it will be coded. That way you can choose to not have the test done there and have it done somewhere else where you will not be charged fraudulently and have to pay to keep your credit intact. I am reviewing this under the south campus as the billing originated in the cardiologists office there according to Aetna. It is so frustrating to pay $600 a month in premiums for "good" health insurance, do all the work to make sure it gets billed correctly and still get taken advantage of as a consumer and as a trusting patient. By the way, I work in healthcare. I understand that medical coding is important to the way I'm billed. Banner's coding practice, in this case and in other experiences I have had does not favor the patient/consumer. I have given Banner more than enough opportunities to fix the issue. I know how it supposed to be billed and this isn't OK. I was charged a co-insurance for a test that did NOT take place at the hospital. I personally have had similar tests conducted at the hospital and not been charged a co-insurance. Be aware and pay attention to your billing!!!

Only reason I gave them a single star is because the app will not let me rate them any lower! I was told, when I made this appointment , as my father's caregiver and with med POA, that I Could go in go in with him. After driving 1 1/2 hours to get here they would not let me in. Almost 2 hours later, for a 1 hour appt, I am still sitting in my car waiting. Temperature 90+ HATE BANNER and their total lack of customer service or caring.

Took the GF to the ER, got into a room relativere fast but that's about the only good thing that happened. Proceeded to get told labs would be done after an hour, 3 hours later we dont have information. She had a ultrasound done and we were told we would have info in 30 min. Over an hour later still no information. Only saw the doctor twice in over 5 and a half hours. Never got asked if we needed anything or how we were doing.

Several providers have been largely dismissive, seem like they just want to get you out as quickly as possible and don't care about you or your symptoms or getting any resolution. Most of them lack compassion and their decisions and actions are driven as much by their personal beliefs and biases as any actual training. They would benefit from a system where they have thin young white men with an ear piece stand in for other patients and repeat their symptoms and concerns so there is some chance of them actually being heard or maybe an anonymous form you fill out with your medical history and symptoms and they suggest or rule out a diagnosis or treatment because they're way too much inconsistency between patients and lack of effort in finding answers for many patients the way it is now. There also needs to be some way for patients to make notes or something on the electronic chart if and when inaccurate information is entered or is not updated when you tell the staff. I've repeatedly tried to correct my medication list with them, and it continues to be inaccurate. I've had multiple visit notes where it's stated that they discussed something with me or I confirmed or denied things in conversations that never happened or a diagnosis is put down that I was never informed of or agreed to, inaccurate measurements entered, wildly inconsistent measurements entered without verifying them. It's ridiculous and very discouraging that as much as it costs, the burden is still placed on the patient to advocate so hard for themselves if they want any effort or answers.

Much better than main campus on campbell

  • 2/5 Nicole T. 10 months ago on Google
Not sure how to even separate who's responsible for what anymore. Part of the hospital is now El Rio, which doesn't share the same system as Banner, so doctors from one can't see the chart from the other. It (predictably) leads to a huge lack of communication, a lot of duplicate efforts, and inaccurate records. I'm just not sure why any administrator in their right mind thought it would be a good idea to be LESS streamlined and LESS accurate within their own campus. I've also frequently had appointments canceled, so it takes months to actually see several of them (usually 1-3 months to get an appointment, then another 1-3 months once they cancel that appointment). Also now had multiple dismissive and/or fatphobic doctors, which is pretty normal unfortunately but still really frustrating if you ever want to be listened to or be treated like a human being or have hope of getting better.

Had a phone interview with Caitlin Nelson at a specific time and date. She never called. I waited and waited. I emailed her to let her know I never received her call and she did not respond. I’ve never experienced this before with any employer. Very unreliable.

Banner Health discriminates against patients by not providing ANY type of pain medicine, for people truly in need, by uttering the words “primary caregiver”. If you don't have one, you just live with that pain. If you’re having trouble walking, no wheelchair, hurry up and follow, they act to busy to be concerned with issues like barely being able to walk. If you can’t sit, too bad, just stand there for 2 hours, they don’t at all seem concerned in that ER.

I'm so impressed on how Banner Hospital helped me with my mental health emergency. I tried to go before that to a different hospital and the head nurse just looked at me and said I'm fine! How could you discount someone like that. I could have really gone down a different path after that negative stay. But I knew I needed help. Im thankful to Dr. Baez, he helped adjust me medicine. There were some BHE's that took the time to listen, Andreea, David, Maria, and a few negative I won't say. I'm only putting this because I'm hoping to help anyone who needs to reach out and talk or text. Mental health is real! ❤️❤️ Love you all!

I'm currently here at Banner South. It's 1:53AM. I got here at 8:30PM of course yesterday. This is ridiculous and totally makes no sense. I was told to come here due to the swelling in my right leg. The Dr at the Urgent care stated the swelling and pain could be a blood clot. Ten minutes ago before they brought me back I was in the lobby waiting. Now instead of putting me in a room they have me in another chair with my leg hanging down. To top that off the guy who just left shared he had been here for 13 hours. Banner South Campus is NO GOOD

I would like to say, my 2 Doc in the ER was amazing very professional. Dr. De Luca and Dr. Ziccarelli. The both Doc very caring and listen to me on why I was here, they both said we r going to take good care of you, and they have. Both of nurses Giovanna and Cornelia, was both very caring, and made sure they control my pain and was always there if I needed something. Top notch. The staff that did my CT. Top notch staff. The tech that did my ultrasound. Was very unprofessional, very rude. She gets a 0 she was very rude, she was doing a scan for possible blood clot in the left calf when she took to squeeze the calf and put me in tears and her comment was did that hurt and I said yes it did and she goes well I don't know why. I have never seen so unprofessional manners and how to talk to a patient then she was. But on a positive note the rest of the staff the nurses the doctors the front desk the nurse that checked me in was very professional and amazing and very courtesy. They all get 5 Stars except the tech that did my ultrasound.

Hate every second of it and more half the staff was rude and didn't listen. I hit my call nurse button and waiting over 25 mins and no one came no one said a word I had to go find a nurse. I point out to them if had been a patient with a heart issue I would have died due to the fact the weremt paying attention. My roommate was loud rude and kept trying to get up and walk despite not being able to and I had to call the nurse when she fell twice. I don't recommend Banner at all.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Especially in an emergency!! They don’t care about privacy, health or otherwise! I’m surprised they haven’t been shut down. I arrived via ambulance and waited a full 8 hours and was NEVER spoken to or examined by anyone. The waiting room was emptied out and still I was never addressed. The nurses appear to be so tired and not wanting to work. I legitimately was not seen, only triaged and left to suffer in a waiting room chair. I left after advising them the situation and they didn’t seem to care, and they REFUSED to give me any of my medical records to seek medical care elsewhere. Worse medical experience in my life!!!

My wife has been trying to see a doctor for the last year and once she gets an appointment you decline her and cancel it without no notice at all. What kind of healthcare facility do you even run. Does your employees and doctors give a single care for your patients. There is some serious shady business happening in here. Get in contact with your patients to get them seen and helped. Imagine how many people are dying and are suffering because you are unable to respond to them fast enough. Get it together. Sincerely wouldn’t recommend going here if you want results and truth

Been sitting here for about 5 hours and all that's gotten done is my IV for blood work. My urine sample which they asked for was sitting on the counter for 2 hours!! Still waiting for my pain medicine which should have been here by now. My FIRST and LAST time ever coming here.

I had an appointment for minor in and out surgery, my appointment was at 9:45am but I was to get there at 7:45. For what I don't know. To check in I guess, had to wait a long time to get in. Was put back to wait from 8:30 to be taken to surgery at 10sum. I wasn't comfortable having dozens of people in the surgery room. I woke up from anaesthesia about 1pm to just be told that they're going to get me ready for discharge without even seeing a doctor or give me any information. The next day my throat hurts from having a tube down my throat and a bruise on my chin. I wouldn't want to go back here for any procedures.

Banner by placing emphasis on education and essential equipment from vendors to facilitate care by Banner pros is evident in people’s helpfulness. Due to IBM’s Watson Banner joins with a company best able to resolve the scalability issues of data gathering, analysis and distribution right into apps for patients to view a record of their care visits and to be alerted to services costs or costs carried on a patient’s behalf not just by insurers but generous vendor relations as well. Best regards to all Banner personnel and thank you Banner Corp. for using Watson!!!

I was transported by ambulance and admitted to this Banner hospital on Ajo for a multi fractured ankle. I was in the hospital for 3 1/2 days and during my stay I had the best care I would have ever imagined. I would like to thank those who watched over me and took good care of me during my stay; Doctor John Ruth Doctor Jaime Contreras To the doctors and nurses in the ER. To the nurses that were on the floor that I was placed on; Brianda Heidi (Heidi's assistant that evening) Carmen Ian Reanne Connie All of you were my Angel's during my stay and you'll continue to be the Angel's to many more that come your way. Thank you!

This was probably the most foul hospital I've visited. Went to the er because I threw my back out and was clearly struggling to walk. After I was checked in; nurse straight up told me I couldn't hold onto the wheelchair because other people might need it. Anyways, after 5 hours of waiting, I found out I was still behind 15 people! If there was another hospital the military paid for trust me, I wouldn't hesitate to skip over this one and go straight to another.

I’m rating low because my aunt goes in for a massive nose bleed due to a hereditary blood vessel disorder ( hht ) and they have no ENT doctors available on weekends and have to transport her to main campus to see an ENT! What is that? Call one ? It isn’t a normal nose bleed.. her blood count was at a 8 and dropped to a 5 from a massive nose bleed, they gave her a blood transfusion brought her count up and now it’s Saturday and can’t contact a ENT! Absolutely insane. Especially when she went in yesterday evening! I’m just amazed there is absolutely NO ENT to contact and they have to transfer hospitals!

Terrible experience!!!! I’m never coming back or recommend this hospital!!July 24, 2019 around 6:00 pm I arrived to the Banner Hospital at 2800 W Ajo Way Tucson, AZ 85713 with severe abdominal pain. I explained that I had the pain for more than 2 weeks . They told me they have a long waiting list, but if something changed with my condition I would need to inform front desk. As I was waiting, a intoxicated male came in and he immediately got medical attention after he was triaged. He was clearly just drunk. Two hours later my pain became worse. I informed the front desk as instructed and asked how much longer the wait time would be. The receptionist did not know, adding two more people were before me. In this two hour time frame I was in tears and could hardly walk. I went to the front desk again and tried contact the receptionist. She was on the phone and ignored me until she hung up. I asked if she can take off my wrist bracelet. I needed medical attention because my pain is getting worse, she never inform the doctor that my condition changed. I told her to cut off my wrist bracelet so I could leave. I left to the Northwest ER by Vail where they triaged me immediately and I was diagnosed with gallbladder issues shortly after. Northwest staff transferred me to their main hospital via ambulance. Northwest medical staff soon determined I required surgery for gallbladder removal! I was lucky that I made it safely to Northwest ER location driving with the pain when I left Banner hospital. Also, the ER waiting room was filthy. To be honest, I’m Glad I left. You guys are providing the worse service I ever experienced. Two months ago when my gallbladder pain first began I was transported via ambulance to Banner South. Medical staff sent me home with omeprazol medication assuming that it was caused by stomach acid. I never got CT Scan or ultrasound (which immediately uncovered the source of my pain). I’m lucky I went to a professional hospital where I was appropriately prioritized as a patient and received professional care and treatment.

My 20 year old granddaughter was taken to Banner South ER via ambulance after being found unresponsive. Because I had heard of such horrible stories about this facility I was very concerned about her being treated there. My fears were very soon alleviated once I saw the great care and thorough attention she received. Her physician was phenomenal. She checked on her several times and kept the family updated. Her nurse Loren RN was generally concerned about her well being and was extremely responsive to all family inquiries. I was very impressed with her and I am not impressed easily. One tech stands out in particular named Kelly. Very professional and yet able to communicate with a 20-year-old without making her feel uncomfortable. What could’ve been a tragic ending turned out well. A lesson well learned not only for my granddaughter but for her friends. I highly recommend this emergency room.

I have been to Banner Health ER twice and will never go back. Both times went in for kidney stone pain. After waiting for 12 hours they gave me pain meds and sent me home. They said kidney stone would pass which it did not and was referred to urologist who said the stone was so large it would never pass and should have been taken care of at ER. So after waiting 3 months and dealing with the stone I was back at ER again and the doctor on duty said he had to get me out of there because stone will pass. What a joke now have surgery set up for removal.
