πŸ‘πŸ‘ It's a bit of a mess with all the construction but it will be fabulous once it's finished. And the elephants are always fun to watch. And the new boardwalk was fun for my grandson to run up and down on. People often mention animals, time, great, love, construction, kids, experience, family, visit, closed,

Love this zoo. Me and my family love zoos and would say thos one is one of the best. There penguin exhibit and the health of them was by far the best of any zoo we have been to.

This zoo was so fun! My kids loved it so many different animals and stuff to keep them occupied the whole time. The zoo brought back so many childhood memories when my dad took my brothers and I as kids.

I was surprised to find a variety of animals at the zoo, which I hadn't expected. The entrance fee was reasonable at $14. It was my first time seeing a penguin, polar bear, leopard, puma, and gorilla. We had to do quite a bit of walking, but it's an excellent place for children who will undoubtedly enjoy it. Inside the zoo, there are food and shopping stalls. Overall, it was a great visit to this zoo.

Not a good day at the zoo. Hopefully this is not an new everday occurrence. When penguin encounter first opened the boat had an effect like it was actually moving. It was so cool. Know its just a picture. Most animals where not available for viewing. Im sure its due to extreme heat. No train. We use to love driving here for that experience. I understand that construction has to happen to have a better experience and renew the zoo. Maybe come back in 5years. No one was able to tell us when construction would be completed. Just noticed someone put they drove 4 thousands miles to come here! Heck where are they from? Alaska is 3500 miles away, Chile is 5000 miles way. Cant be east or west coast, to closeπŸ€”πŸ™‚

I love taking my kids to the zoo. This is never a bad trip. Penguin experience is 6 my younger kids were so excited. This time was so so cuz the weather and animals were cold or just slow to start the day. A few exhibits were closed and/or being worked on.

We had an amazing time! I had never been that close to gorillas without a glass divider. The chimpanzee enclosure was our favorite, they put on quite a show for us!

Fantastic zoo. The variety of animals is amazing and the penguin area is reaaly great. You get much closer to the animals than many other zoos. On the (hot July) day we visited almost all of the animals were at least visible if not active.

Great zoo, many animals. Some of the sections were closed (monkeys) for construction but the reptiles collection is one of the best I've seen and the birds are amazing...they have couple of male and female birds which is rare. Penguins area was so cool any vantage points to see them, the kids loved it.

My family has enjoyed coming to the Albuquerque Zoo for years. We visit extended family in Albuquerque every summer and this is a guaranteed stop for us. We love supporting them!

The zoo is always amazing and the Asia exhibit is no exception. The only problem right now is there is a lot of construction going on and the zoo doesn't do a good job of advertising what areas are closed off. We wanted to see the elephants and could only see them from the pond area and not the viewing platform because of construction. It would also help if they had a heat advisory because if it is too hot the animals can't be out which means there's a lot of empty enclosures. I still love this zoo and look forward to the Australia wing being finished.

Ummm I think that the zoo is doing upgrades. Well, I hope they are because so many exhibits were closed. I wish they would post that on the website so that people can know before going and then their children being disappointed. Even I was disappointed. Overall, seems like this zoo needs some love ❀️

The fabulous new shared habitat was such a joy to see. The habitats change frequently with connections being opened or closed. Animals have the ability to enter areas others have used. Overhead connections give us closer looks at Asian animals like orangutans or tigers. The apes were especially enthusiastic and joyous exploring and playing. It's a lovely, healthy environment that is well interpreted with signage and little statues. So much to see and learn!

We enjoyed this visit. They were feeding the giraffes fresh cottonwood branches so we got a nice close view.

While everyone is busy with the fair this the place to be it's like almost having the whole zoo to yourself,we took our grandkids and we all had fun a few exibits close to upgrading the zoo other than that all is good.clean zoo, clean bathrooms and food stands open and gift shops, you can rent wheel chairs or wagons for the kids and there's plenty of areas to have a little picnic

Usually a great experience as we have frequently visited in the past. This was going to be our farewell visit. It was not a great experience. We started off buying online tickets to beat the crowd into the park. That was not the case because you must still wait in line when you get to the park. There was no line for online purchases. We were told by a zoo employee that we could not get in the member line when he allowed other online ticket buyers in the member line to shorten their wait time. Also, the Asia exhibit was only open to members as we found out when we were told we could not enter. All the animals we wanted to see were there. We explained that we were from out-of town to no avail. It will be a great experience again when renovations are complete and open to all visitors, but someone else will have that experience, and it will not be my family.

Great new addition that just opened. Bigger enclosuresfor all the animals. Better viewing areas to see the animals. Monkeys have walkways above the walking paths.

It’s been a long wait but the new exhibit area is quite nice. Love the zoo this time of year when the temperature allows for the animals to be more active! Seems the lions are gone for good, which makes us locals rather sad.

Great time. Needs some cleaning in the penguin tank. And need to trim some of the viewing areas in front of the viewing areas. Some of that grass is taller than the fence making it hard to see the smaller animals. Can't wait to see the place after the construction is done.

We drove 4000 miles to this place. Half the exhibits were closed. It was a bit hot out so all the animals were hiding inside.. it was more of an expensive walk. Would of been nice to know before we paid that we wouldn't be seeing any thing.. πŸ€”..we did get to see the giraffe and elephant.. woohooo.

Really a great zoo for a town this size. A great pairing for the botanical garden and aquarium. ABQ is lucky to have this

This is a fun zoo to visit, super family friendly. It's a small Zoo, you could spend about 3-5 hours there and see the whole thing, but still small and well taken care of. The food and drinks however are extremely over priced. I bought a water bottle and an ice cream cone, cost me $15 with tax.

Always a great place for families, high quality zoo, especially with the new additions. Make sure to buy the combo for the entire biopark to also see the aquarium and the garden. The zoo alone took us 4 hours, so you can plan an entire beautiful day in the biopark. Discounts for residents.

Limited opening with time slots but still worth the trip with the kids. Fun time just hanging out with the lions.

I am visiting in NM for the holidays so my son and his family and I took a trip from Santa Fe to the Albuquerque Zoo. Since it's winter some of the animals weren't out. They are expanding which would s great but due to the time of year there wasn't much to see but all in all we had a good time and enjoyed what we saw. There was disturbing ongoing issue that we saw continually and that was parents letting their kids chase the ducks and geese. There are signs that tell you not to chase them but that didn't deter parents from allowing it to happen. I wish the zoo could police that area and prevent that from continuing.

I love our zoo, don't get me wrong. I just remember when it looked nicer. The park there wasn't bare. The grass was plush and nice to sit on. Now it is bare in so many places. It also used to have so many beautiful flowers. Now it just looks dull. The grounds also used to be cleaner. They raked and cleaned under bushes. It was just at a higher level than it is now. There also seems to be a lot of animals gone. Please, bring the level of class back up at our zoo. People will love it so much more. Don't allow it to get run down.

My grandson loves animals, if it was up to him, we would go everyday! We enjoy the zoo and aquarium at least twice a month! It has grown so much since I was young!

This is an excellent zoo for little New Mexico. Beautiful grounds, all well kept and clean. Animals look healthy and very content. This place has so much animal and habitat diversity, everytime I go, I see something I haven't seen before. It is easy to spend hours upon hours here. They are always adding new and updated amenities, animals, enclosures, features. This place is a must-see in Albuquerque. In-state residents get a discount with proof of ID, however, even without the discount, prices are still good, affordable for families. Food and drink costs inside are crazy high though, I recommend bringing your own water and snacks πŸ‘Œ

To be fair, so many exhibits we're closed due to expansion but I would have liked for them to state that in their website in case that factored in our going. Overall, it was nice. Was not sure why they only out 1 chicken out for 3 tigers... Noone around to answer that though lol Was actually bigger than I originally thought, so wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Loved the penguin exhibit!!!

One of the best zoos we have visited (all of them but San Diego). Even though Australia was under construction, we got to watch elephants eat and train and spent 30 minutes with the Serval handler who has been with her (Savannah) 20 years. Worth the trip!!! And, the food at the Cottonwood Cafe was both delicious and fairly priced - the Chile cheeseburger was $12.95 like the other two we had while in ABQ but it was heads and shoulders above the others! What a surprise!
