This beach was the best thing after my hike at the morro hike trails. Its so separated from lousy people that visit the beaches and private in sense. It was relaxing to watch the waves and dolphins nearby with very little people near by. I came with my sister around 6 am and it was the lost peaceful location yet the trash cans need to be emptied out as they were so full of trash. Other than that I would love to come back soon. The wildlife and trails in this state park are one of a kind. Stumbled across squash and edible flowers, animals and luckily no rattlesnakes. Didn't know I could bring my bike but next time I will do that. Parking for entire day is 15 and you can pay with apple or Android pay, cash or card.

Easy walk from the parking lot to the beach through the tunnel. The couple times we have been here, there has been water in the tunnel so expect to have to walk through it. It appears it fills up during the evening from the high tide and slowly drains during the day. The water is pretty clean and actually helps clean the sand off on the way back to the parking lot. If you don't want to get your feet wet because you want to take a stroll along the beach or something, I would avoid this route. Otherwise, it is fine. There are restrooms and showers here. The beach is beautiful and is a part of Crystal Cove State Park. Walk about half mile north along the beach and you will find tide pools, which are fun to explore. We camped at Moro Campground twice now, which is just above the parking lot to the tunnel. Because we got there prior to early check-in time for the campground, we went ahead and paid for the day pass to access the parking lot. The day pass that day was $15 and couple be used at any of the state parks. There are other hiking trails to the wilderness area from this parking lot.

So cool! Don't let the water in the tunnel scare you. It's safe and at the end of the day cleans all the sand off your feet. It really is some beautiful engineering to get us to the most beautiful beach. We spent the day and didn't want to leave.

Very cool location for a hike! Beautiful, clean and quiet place. The rangers and lifeguards take their jobs serious and are very helpful and friendly. I discovered this Bay when searching for a local hiking spot that was near the beach; this location surpassed any expectation that I had. The hike ended on the beach, doesn't get better than that, especially after a moderate hike on the hottest day this year. What's great about crystal cove state park tunnel hike is there are different lengths you can choose from. When parking (minimal cost), they have clear signs posting the different hikes. I went on the shorter one. Love this beach and I will be enjoying many more experiences there.

Beautiful area south orange county. Ocean, beach, bluffs and great views. State Park no dog closes at sunset. A little crowded at times especially in summer. Some bungalows for rent, book well in advance. A nic place to spend the afternoon or morning.

There is a $15 state park charge. The tunnel leading to the beach floods often. There are too many rocks to safely boogie board or surf. It is much better to visit than to be at work, however.

At high tide, you can start swimming right in the tunnel! Before heading to the beach, check your tide app (eg Tide USA app and select "Newport Bay Entrance" station)

Super clean. Every campsite has a view of the ocean. A little pricey but worth it.

Absolutely ★GORGEOUS★ picturesque rocky cove! It's insanely beautiful at night, when the moonlight hits the Crestline of the waves, it's breathtaking! The stairs at the very bottom, where you enter the cove, are EXTREMELY 💦SLIPPERY💦 AND VERY🛑DANGEROUS!🛑 The high tide comes up to the third or fourth step and they're covered in slippy slidey wet green moss and the handrail [for whatever nonsensical reason] stops short of these steps!! So, be prepared and wear grippy shoes. You'll be glad you did!

My favorite beach, anywhere. Go after a storm and search for sea glass and geodes, which are uncovered as the sand pulls back. Good ADA/disability access, which is nice to see for a beach. Don’t mind the entry fee, that’s what keeps it well organized and beautiful.

One of the most beautiful beaches I've been to. Has a river through it and just sets the tone for what's to come. Great for pictures.

Nice as always, but I highly recommend to NOT come during high tide if you are going south. When the tide is high and you want to head more south, you have to cross jagged rocks with high tide. When I went with my family, people were loosing their items en mass. Besides that, nice beach and great fishing!

The tunnel was flooded today. Going down to the beach you had to walk through old seawater that was trapped in the tunnel. It kind of grossed me out. What was really strange was that people were letting their kids play in it. I don't know what they were thinking. Anyway the beach is pretty and there's a nice view to the South. But there's a lot of rocks and debris left over from when the old mobile homes were there. I still enjoy the beach but I can't go swimming in it. I don't like dealing with rocks. You just get pummeled or feel this weird stuff underneath your feet and it kind of freaks me out. The waves were pretty darn big in the lifeguard was very busy. I have to admire those guys!

If you don't mind trekking through a tunnel filled with water 90% of the year, this place is for you. Great views, great walks, amazing places to take pictures. You get a surprisingly low amount of people most of the time, especially in the late afternoon and evening. Due to parking fees and closing time, you can't always stay there too long with a low amount of people, but it's still definitely worth a visit.

Just wanted to wet our feet but tide was coming in and got more wet the expected. Being a Sunday, wasn't too crowded. Parking took a bit but we were close to restrooms and shower
