This isn't a difficult hike, but so worth the trip. It was about 2.25 miles to the waterfall. A total of 4.5 miles round trip. I had trekking poles, however I didn't really need them. There's a steady incline as you go along the trail and there are quite a few shady areas. We began at 7 am due to the heat, but there was a very nice breeze along the way. Once you arrive to the waterfall you will need to climb down a steep set of rocks; however someone has kindly attached a rope to assist on the way down and when you climb back up. Great hike for all levels. Enjoy!

Best waterfall in Southern California that I have seen so far! The hike is a little over 4 miles roundtrip, but it does get steep in many places. The parking lot is tiny, so people park on the side of the road. Make sure you park on the side that the trailhead is on. Waterfall is so stunning!

Great hike! Easy altitude gain with about 3 miles hike. The trail is well developed and may require to cross the river several times. If you are planning to go there. make sure to wear shoes that are waterproof or with a quick dry feature. A little trick until the last part when u need to reach down to the fall. With several months of rain in LA earlier this year, the end path becomes a very high and steep slope where u need to hold on to the rope to climb down. It will not be easy if you have the wrong shoes. After all, it is rewarding 😎

Moderate hike for the uninitiated. Not a challenge at all for experienced hikers. Kid & dog friendly. My family and I love this trail. Dad tip: there’s a somewhat hidden picnic bench halfway between trailhead and falls. Great spot for a family lunch. Beautiful waterfall. The ropes not really necessary, but helpful for the kiddos.

After all the rains that hit California, this waterfall was gorgeous! 4-mile round trip to and back from the waterfall. It’s not terribly difficult but there are about 8 river crossings you have to do and one of which you have to get wet! Plenty of street parking and dogs are welcome. No restrooms though

Fun creek crossings. Once you can see the waterfall closer up, start looking for the trail goin down. Careful!! It's a steep last bit, make sure to use the ropes to help guide you down then enjoy the beautiful waterfall!!

10/10! Great hike! No tree cover at 1st (so a lil hot for our small dog) but lots of trees & creek crossings once down in the valley. Waterfall was very refreshing 👌Spent a chunk of time resting in the pools of water & admiring all the spring flowers along the trail.

Most amazing and stunning waterfall in Los Angeles. I did not expect it to be that good. It was 2 miles of mostly uphill hike. But at then end , it all worth it. .

I hiked this trail with my 2 young kids and a pug. We arrived at noon, which made parking is easy at the trail head. The hiking started with some ascend with exposure to the sun, but after about .5 miles, you will decent to the valley with ample shade. We had to cross the creek multiple times. Some of the crossings are a little scary due to rapid water after the recent rain. I had to guide them through the river one by one. But compared to some other waterfall hiking river crossings, this one is relatively easy, our shoes were not even wet. When summer comes, it can get hot, remember to bring enough water or bring a water filter when hiking this trail.

A very enjoyable, fairly easy, moderate rated hike. The rope climbing to the lower falls at the end is over dramatized by some reviews. It’s really not difficult for the average fitness level; I even climbed down most of it without the help of the ropes. It’s worth going down though because the waterfall is beautiful and at the top you can’t see anything anyway so we skipped that part. Parking is limited right next to the trailhead, which is right off the main road, but we saw many other cars parked along the road past the trailhead so parking enforcement seems to be lax here thankfully. The first bit of the hike takes you up and over and then down a small hill, into the canyon along the stream, which is very shallow only an inch or two deep, and then to the hardest part of the hike which is the last 1.5 mile climb up to where the falls are. It is a well defined path, it’s just all uphill during this portion. The falls themselves are worth it; truly serene and they were extra strong flow wise. Took us 2 hours total and our feet did not get wet a single time. Highly recommend and I plan to return.

One of my favorite trails but you have to go right after a rainy season so that you can fully see the waterfall, otherwise you'll just see a sad stream of water 🤣 2.5 miles in and out. The incline is rather high but doable, if you're active. Altitude is about 2200! If you decide to go on a sunny day bring a hat, sunscreen, and long sleeve because there is NO SHADE once you're that high!

The trail is gorgeous but we had our car broken into while parked at the trailhead. Looks like this is not an isolated incident as numerous other people have reported the same issue on all trails but not on Google???

Really great, very doable hike. Ranked as moderate on all trails, and world certainly be a minor challenge to someone that doesn't do too much hiking, but it felt like just the right amount of adventure. A few small, simple river crossings right now, and a decent amount of elevation change. The ropes down to the waterfall are fun and in good shape, and there's a bunch of water there right now. The first mile and a half were VERY busy on a Saturday morning, but the crowds thinned out a little bit near the end of the trail.

First time going out don't really hike was a little hard. The waterfall is very very beautiful. There is a steep slope you do have to climb before I reaching the waterfall. Do you have to cross the creek a few times back and forth.

Beautiful hike after the rainy 🌧 season. Be prepared to get your hiking shoes wet, there are a few stream crossings. The uphill hike is for the moderate hiker, but there are some difficult sections to get to the waterfall.

This is a great hike, it has some steep areas that are narrow; you will have to cross a little stream (when I went). I hiked it with my son on my shoulders; I paid for it the next day but it was worth his smile.

4.2 mile out-and-back, 991 ft elevation. This hike promises a picturesque walk into a sun-drenched canyon with a charming waterfall splashing down 30-40 feet into a shady creek pool. You'll negotiate several easy creek crossings on a wide trail as you gradually gain elevation, and the activity of the creek will hint at the impressiveness of the falls to come. Around half the way into the hike, the path narrows and snakes around the deepening canyon with a few fun (and safe) precipitous drop-offs until Trail Canyon Falls comes into view. Some may want to remain by the trail to admire the waterfall views, but most should try making the descent to the foot of the falls by way of an increasingly steep path. So steep in fact that ropes are anchored into the ground to assist with the most sheer part of the trail. Don't worry though - folks with an average level of fitness will likely find the rope rappel to be pretty easy both ways. We were lucky to have the falls to ourselves when we visited, as this trail is often very busy. I admit that I struggled to take a good photo of the falls, which was partly in shade and partly in full sun. The pink blossoming tree next to the falls did add a special touch though. Most of this trail is in full sun throughout the day, so dress appropriately and bring sunblock. There are quite a number of trailhead and roadside parking opportunities on Big Tujunga Canyon Road. Be warned that although there were no signs present to tell you this, parking in the Angeles National Forest requires the display of an Adventure Pass that can be picked up at local stores.

Better to go there in rainy months if you wanna see the actual falls, but overall was a great hike, short, almost half of the trail it's shaded We came here in July at 9am at least we get a few drops out of the falls
