The Selwyn is a fantastic hotel for anyone planning to visit Richmond. We stayed for two nights with our family of three in room 210. It was one of the only hotels we found during our stay in and around London with two good size beds and additional space for hanging out in the room. The amenities provided in the room were fantastic. Excellent tea coffee and biscuit options as well as full size bottles of both still and sparkling water. The check-in process was smooth and the staff was courteous and professional. Anytime we had a request they were prompt in addressing it. The rooms were updated and clean as was the entire property. The location is an easy walk from the rail station and sits right on several key bus routes. You can walk to most of Richmond's sites from the hotel and there is excellent food and grocery options very close by. Highly recommend for both business and personal travel.

This hotel is amazing. It's so quaint and lovely at Christmas time. The rooms are really comfy, the tub was a delight, and it's so very quiet. It also has a fantastic location for everything you want to do in Richmond, and the tube is just a few minutes away and an easy shot into London.

Excellent and very helpful staff, lovely breakfast and nice location near the Richmond station and for having walks around the area. The hotel is very stylishly renovated throughout. The room was quite tiny but well-equipped, except for the absence of a mini fridge that would've been handy too. Air con was a bit noisy (totally ok to sleep with earplugs if you're fussy about any noises) but very effective and respected during a heatwave!

An overnight stay (room price) slightly above what we would normally pay, but still reasonable for London prices, especially just before Xmas. A fabulous venue, classy without the sassy - as we walked in, we could have been stepping into a 'traditional hotel at Xmas' movie scene! Met with immaculately presented but down to earth, kind and helpful staff, the room was of excellent standard and hotel location ideal for exploring Richmond and surrounding areas / London. Would definitely recommend.

We highly recommend this hotel. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Parking on site was great in this busy part of London. The breakfast was second to none. One of the best we have had in many years. The room was clean & comfortable.

Smart, tidy hotel with a parking option in a good spot in Richmond close to the shopping and underground. The room was a little small and cold when waking to the first frost of the year but everything else we experienced was good.

Beautiful hotel. Very clean. Friendly staff. Fantastic location. Few minute walk to town or to the tube. The room was small, but we basically only slept when we were there. Room was very cozy. Would highly recommend staying there.

This is a terrific new addition to the hotel scene in London. Well priced; modern clean rooms; quiet yet very central to all Richmond has to offer. Only minutes from the tube and railway, central London is 30 minutes away. Good wifi, good parking m. The best part though is the quality of the staff: helpful, engaging and caring. We have already booked our return.

Really couldn't praise this place enough... excellent location, minutes walk from the centre, station and all the points of interest.. charming, brand new hotel in a lovely green & quiet area, yet plenty of cafes and shops around. The breakfast was delicious, even more pleasant, because the employees: Kamila, Ada, and Jessie were very friendly, accommodating, and professional; explained all the available options, and made sure all the needs were met... brilliant start of the day... Thank you :) We had a minor inconvenience at night, which was handled brilliantly by the reception employees, who were calm, reassuring, and very helpful. The rooms are modern, tasteful, and spotless. Speedy WiFi is a nice bonus! Amazing experience. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a short getaway or a longer stay in London!

Our stay at Selwyn was delightful. The quaint atmosphere, coupled with its proximity to the Richmond metro station, made it an ideal choice for those seeking an authentic London experience away from the touristy hustle. The charm of the surroundings added to the overall appeal of the stay.

My experience was somewhat mixed. I initially encountered some issues with my room, including cleanliness concerns with hair and bugs on the floor. When I requested a room change due to these issues, I was informed that there were no available rooms in my room category, which was disappointing. Instead, room service was requested and I had to wait outside until the floor was clean. One of the main reasons I decided to switch rooms, however, was because the door in my initial room wouldn't lock properly. This was a security concern for me, and I felt it was essential to have a secure room. Fortunately, I was moved to a normal-sized room from my tight initial one, which was an improvement. On the positive side, the staff at the Paisley Room, where I likely had breakfast, were outstanding. They were courteous and very helpful, which made for a pleasant start to my mornings during my stay. It's worth noting that the hotel had recently added an elevator, but it was out of commission during my visit, which was a bit inconvenient. In summary, while my stay at The Selwyn had its ups and downs, the friendly and helpful staff at the Paisley Room stood out as a highlight of my experience. The hotel could improve by addressing room cleanliness issues and ensuring the functionality of locks on doors to provide a more comfortable and secure stay for guests.

I stayed there for 1 month when I was searching for a flat. It was so close to the high street, train station and bus stops. I really like the area. The staff was so friendly from manager to room service. Interior of the hotel is so chic (comment from an interior designer, myself) The breakfast has so much options and very delicious, the paisley room is so bright and well designed. The hotel was so clean overall; it is hard to find a clean one in UK. I would love to stay there again!

Overall the look and feel of the hotel is well above the price point. Newly renovated. Our only issue was the basement room was slightly noisy with the foot traffic in the restaurant above, but it wasn't too bad, hence the 4 stars. The bath and bathroom were both very nice, and the bedding was high quality. Short walk to the tube into London and paid parking available. Richmond is a nice area. I'd stay here again and recommend.

I spent 3 nights here for leisure and it was an excellent experience. The hotel is BEAUTIFUL. The pictures don’t capture all the exquisite details of the design and quality. Great location to get some peace and quiet (or the best you can do in the London area) but be centrally located with many restaurants and shops with easy distance. Loved it! The best place to stay in Richmond.

I was constantly surprised how good the service was. Good responses before I arrived . Turned up (very) early on 1st day and they fit me into a room that had just been cleaned and encouraged me to rest after a hard day. That was just the start - great responses throughout my stay. Great breakfast - lovely tea room. The room in the upper floors are "small but perfectly formed" and it is all new, beautifully appointed and so clean and tidy. Deep and dreamy sleep. A quick walk to the train and tube or into Richmond. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. PERFECT

Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Richmond. Newly opened, the staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was a bit on the small side and a bit warm but they gave us a small refund as I didn’t sleep too well because of this. It was spotless and the toiletries were environmentally-friendly and lovely smelling. A lovely attitude to guest comfort! Reasonably priced for the area and great location makes it a super hotel to visit Richmond Park and Kew Gardens. I would definitely go back and stay with them again.

We stayed for 4 nights as we were visiting friends in the area (use to live nearby for many years) so for us the perfect location with train station and buses easily available. Easily walkable to central Richmond with excellent restaurants and coffee houses. The hotel is beautifully decorated with upscale touches that were greatly appreciated, only downside is that there is no elevator but that is to be expected in these older buildings. We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful hotel, with a great location very close to the Richmond train station, and walking distance from shops, restaurants and pubs. Room was very comfortable, with a beautiful modern design, and very clean. The heated bathroom floor was a treat! Staff are very friendly and super helpful. Breakfast is really good, very elegantly served, with a healthy, nutritious selection. The staff serving breakfast was very courteous and helpful, and made the whole experience really luxurious. Overall, a very enjoyable stay, highly recommend it.

We couldn’t be happier with our stay at The Selwyn. It’s only a few months old but, to use an American expression, they are knocking it out of the park. From the moment we arrived (early in the morning after an exhausting transatlantic flight) to our seamless checkout, everything was perfect. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, with easily adjustable air conditioning, all the expected amenities, and thoughtful touches like heated bathroom floors and shortbread biscuits to go with the coffee and tea. The classic rooms are not too small by London standards, but if you want a bit more room, book a Selwyn room. Be aware that currently there is not a lift, although they plan to add one. The stairs did not bother us, and the staff helped with our bags. The hotel is a short, easy walk to the tube station to get to central London, and a short walk to shopping and dining options within Richmond. We will be back the next time we visit London!

Absolutely wonderful stay in Richmond! The location was perfectly situated in walking distance of our favorite pubs. Parking was very convenient. I was traveling with my family and the family room was roomy and well equipped. We had breakfast on the property and it was delicious. Our service was excellent, Emma made the breakfast special. Management should consider recognition for her. People like that make the difference between good stays and great stays.

We'll appointed and elegant rooms. We booked at last minute, so we're stuck with a rather cramped option, which was still comfortable, especially the AC which was atypically ( for UK) up to the 30C days while we stayed. The high point is definitely the Manager, Maria, who genuinely "leaves no fuel in the tank" in trying to assist every request. In this day and age, she is a rare gem, leading an equally attentive staff.
