Beware of Hostel 7 – It’s a horrible place!!! When we checked in, it took a while to open the front door until a lady with a head covering opened it. She talked to me in French but I said that I speak English only. As we got inside the foyer, she rudely commanded us to take out our luggages from the walkway. We found out that the room we booked several months ago was not ready yet. Contrary to their advertisement, we found out that this hostel has no Wi-Fi, some electrical outlets are not functioning, carpets are terribly dirty, floors and windows are dilapidated, and the worst of all, it was too disappointing to discover that there is no toilet and no bathroom inside the room. You have to go up to the top floor to use the toilet which is shared by several other occupants. Don’t vomit when you see the toilet bowl with human waste and horribly untidy because the toilet flush is broken and not working properly. They only provided two towels that are already worn out and extremely discolored during our stay, garbages are not collected, and there are inadequate essential supplies even paper towels for toilet use. I am certain that the safety protocols posted inside this building is already OUTDATED. This is a kind of malpractice if not an absolute case of mismanagement among hostel owners in Central London that must be checked or reported to proper authorities to protect innocent customers and ensure health and safety of everyone. This hostel must be shut down and renovated first before they offer it for public use. Just a word of caution, although this hostel is close to major amenities in London, in view of what I have mentioned above, and the horrible experiences we all had, I would say that our stay at Hostel 7, Brechin Place, SW7 at Kensington and Chelsea is NOT worth your time and money. Beware of this place!!!

Pros: Good location in London Was clearly once a very nice house Front door and room door use codes rather than keys. Reasonable price Cons: No hot water Dirty Moldy Torn wall paper Smells funny The fire alarm keeps going off No sign outside No sign or interaction from manger just the cleaner. Nothing like the pictures. Some people never got their reservation because the place was over booked no refund from the owner. But if you don’t mind very basic service and stay then it’s an ok place to stay. It’s location in London is fantastic.

This hostel is great for a "going back to basics" experience. You first have to find it and hope that the nice lady is there to open the door (the name is a nice clue for finding the hostel). If you're finally inside the real adventure begins: all the showers are cold except for the top floor ones, maybe there is toilet paper, the beds are a tight fit for two people. The nice lady can be a bit stressed but she will gladly knock on your door when you've burnt a pizza. All in all a great back to basics experience

The place is at a very good location and the conditions (rooms, toilet, tidiness, etc) are not great but not that bad. Yet, nobody is around to help around. If you try contacting them at the number they provide, they will not answer. It is hard to find the place, as there is no sign at the door. I am not surprised to read the review of the lady that was left out in the cold with her children. We were very lucky to get someone to open the door for us. This place REALLY NEEDS to have someone to answer the phone and is around in case someone needs something. I also wanted to see if I could leave my luggage after checking out (as you can do in other hostels) and it was impossible to contact anyone. I had to carry my luggage all across London for almost a whole day. Summary, regular hostel with terrible service.

Arrival was around 10 pm as hostel was informed, clerk didn't respond to the calls or messages to confirm and once arrived couldn't enter. Called the clerk again and he (Tom) said that it's too late to check in , stopped answering again and cancelled the reservation for two nights and wrote " no-show" and therefore couldn't get the money back!!! Other guests coming out of the place were not satisfied by the clerk either ... Not recommended AT ALL!! Terrible host and rude and a scam....

This hostel, build in 1985, is one great adventure. You'll have to search for a shower with hot water, so if you find one it's feels like a fantastic achievement. It's also a fun puzzle to try to turn the oven on. When we were baking pizza in the oven, we accidentally also turned on the furnace. Because there was a pizza box on the furnace the fire alarm went off... Oops! Lucky there is a sweet lady to help you through this adventure. Our toilet for example had no toilet paper but when we mentioned this we got it the same day! So if you manage to actually get in this hostel you'll get great service. Furthermore, the location and pricing is excellent. 3/5 would recommend for adventurous people.

Is there an option for zero stars? This was the worst experience I've ever had traveling. The owner came into my room while I was out and moved all my things into a closet of a room. I paid for a triple room with a kitchenette and after one night he moved my things in garbage bags to a closet with two single beds and nothing else. I was tempted to call the police. It felt so violating. Please for the love of God don't stay here. There were two other people in the lobby with problems too. The owner was trying to tell them this was not Hostel 7. Please stay away from this place.

Very bad service and place. Rooms and restrooms are dirty. Internet wifi always doesn't work. You can stay here if you concern only cheap price. There is no sign to let you know where is this hostel but you can see house no.7. When my friend and I arrived there at 9pm (because our flight was delayed), we called to this hostel and no one answered. Then we sent them several messages about 1 hour until someone answered. The lady came to open the door and spoke very rude to us before showing our room. We booked a twin room but then this lady said one of our bed was broken so she arranged 2 separate rooms for us. My friend just wanna see my room so she followed us but the lady told my friend very rude that she couldn't stay with me. My friend said she just wanna see the room but the lady still spoke very rude to her. She also spoke very very rude to other guests as well. We have talked to other guests and they all said this lady was very rude and this hostel is very HORRIBLE.

Es war dreckig , trotz Reservierung mussten wir vor Ort mit anderen Gästen auf Personal warten. Als endlich jemand da war hatte das Personal unsere Namen und die der anderen Gruppen nicht auf seiner Liste und so mussten wir bei 3 verschiedenen Telefonnummern anrufen um unseren Namen auf die Liste zu bekommen , weil auf jeder Reservierung eine andere Telefonnummer stand. Dieses Theater haben wir jeden Tag beim Verlassen des Zimmers mitbekommen.
