Took a skirt back that I bought in Southampton to Eastleigh to exchange and to buy a coat that they did not have in my size in Southampton branch and a dress that i liked. Massive queue with only two cash desks open and after waiting for quite a while I decided to leave without exchanging or buying the extra items. This is not the first time I have left without purchasing. My husband was with me and had jogging bottoms and pyjama bottoms which were also left. Not great customer service!

From shockingly poor parking facilities, to super slow checkouts, this place is just awful. Don't get me wrong, their stock is fine, but the whole shopping experience is ruined by the abysmally, time consuming, queues at point of payment. Upon arrival I counted 9 people in the queue...OK, not great...3 tills open out of a possible 5. 8 minutes later, having failed to find the shoes I wanted; I headed back to my car. In those intervening minutes, the queues had increased to over 20 people!!! And still only 3 tills were being utilised. 1st visit in 18 years...probably my last.

Would be five stars if my boxers didn't cost 9quid for three. It's quite expensive considering the garment spends it's life getting farted on. I can buy a whole jumper in here for 9quid.

I like the shop but I don't find the till experience very pleasant or helpful. The staff on tills aren't friendly whereas the shop floor staff are alot nicer. Alot of waiting!

Clothes are lovely, seems understaffed though. Took along time to return a top I was gifted.

Nice size Matalan with a wide selection of items only negative is your forced to use the self check out area where there's limited space

Haven't been back since they started stopping you at the door to check if you have been stealing from them. They make you use self checkout then have the nerve to treat you like a shoplifter.

Nice large clean store, with good selection of clothing for adults and children alike. Very Impressed with pice of garments. Only down size, self service. Do not like this much prefer a person at the till. There was someone to assist but still prefer someone on the till. Maybe that reflects low prices as you have to do the cashier work as well. The lady who was there to help was very polite. But this may put some people of, who like me prefer the personal touch.

Nice big store clean and fresh good selection of clothes and good value. Big downside they had one cashier on to do sales and returns I felt very sorry for her we were waiting in a queue for 15 mins because we wanted to pay cash and be served . I do not want to use self service I like to have someone to talk to and help with goods . Self service is not the way forward . Very short staffed alot of clients complaining also to a man who was checking on your store

Store clean and well laid out, with good selection of items. However queue system was all over the place which caused obvious confusion with customers. To then have a member of staff actually shouting at me to use self service tills I won't be back

Great range of good quality clothes for the whole family at great prices. The store also has a home section. It is one of those places that you never leave empty-handed. The only downside is that the store can be a bit messy at times which I guess is down to the excited shoppers.

Good selection of women's clothing but till service/customer service a bit slow.

I had to collect a parcel that had been missed from DPD parcel carrier,and I collected it from Matalan . VERY easy way to get a parcel.

Matalan is my guilty pleasure .I love the store in eastleigh .Organised ,clean ,great staff .especially at the tills .lovely quality, value for money .

Love what Matalan has to offer in terms of products, but the Eastleigh store's queues and only one person on the till habit can be annoying - even with the self-serves, as they can be a bit temperamental with loyalty cards and the like. As someone who's also had two job interviews here, it has also been pretty bad, being totally ghosted after both despite sending emails pleading for feedback and being promised by the supervisors that I was interviewed by that I'd hear back by a certain date, the 2nd interviewer just talking at me the whole time and telling me I'm rude for trying to converse back as I had spoken over her a few times. Sorry for being involved in the process, I guess! I was also told that a girl who had been working here longer deserved the hours more than me for her loyalty which was a bit of a kick in the teeth to hear, as someone who's been nothing but accomodating and loyal in workplaces themselves!

Was greeted with ’Is it a return?’ when went to till. I replied that the self serve tills weren’t accepting my card. The till then didn’t accept my card. Knowing full well that my card works fine, I conveyed this. Twice the cashier told me my card was faulty, to which I responded ‘You’ve told me that twice already’. The reply was for me not to be so rude, to which I replied she shouldn’t speak to me like that. ‘I’m not serving you’ she said and stropped off. I’m the meantime my husband used his card, and I helped myself to the receipt. Her two young colleagues looked mortified at her behaviour when I asked for her name. I think Judy needs to have some further customer training. I then used my card in another store, no problem at all……..

Poor signage at tills leading to lots of confusion for customers. I was inadvertently in the wrong queue for Click & Collect - should have been in a separate queue which was for cash, returns or package. Few other ladies also in wrong queue and having problems with self service tills. Also didn't seem to be enough space for those buying lots of items as the clothes were ending up on the floor. Hope they sort it out soon so shopping experience is improved.

Always a good selection of home and wear products. At a reasonable price. Used click and collect service today to obtain the products i required before checking in store stock.

Gone downhill since my last visit approx 4 months ago. Sizing is really off and has shrunk. Quality for price is poor to. Straight cut jeans available in off trend colours dark shapeless blue and a dim electric type blue which is a strange blue for denim. Why do straight leg jeans have to be so frumpy? Nice pair of relaxed jeans although a little thin for denim, the fit and slightly faded denim colour were very good, no rips in them either which was bonus. Unfortunately it seems Matalan do womens clothes for the younger aged trends short, ripped, figure hugging or Doris Frump! I'm not sure who designs their ranges or where they get ideas from but they don't seem to be very runway inspired for most. Nice colour purples but the styles were off! No proper reds, checks or plaid for casual, smart or work styles. Mens clothing, again the sizing were way off! There were smart, frump and low end skateboard but the prices were not that cheap in comparison to other retailers and the quality not good. Why have they replaced their Easy section with even worse aw85 I think ?? Those sizes are way off the mark! I would say that there is not much separating Matalan from Asda's George clothing except George are slightly better with sizing and Matalan do not do the loud unwearable prints that George womens clothes do! Matalan study the runway looks for the seasons, get inspired. You are starting to look very 'market stall' with your choice of materials and designs!

Suit department had no stock. Any thing they do have doesn't match trousers to jacket. Really poor

Seeing all the reviews about this Shop how the Management convince to me to Shop here with confidence about being served in good time without a long QUEUE
