As the name says it's a recycling centre. It can get very busy and crowded during weekends and especially the bank holidays where you have tailbacks on the local road. It has different stations to throw away different materials to be recycled. The staff are generally helpful upon your visit, you tell them what you have to throw away and they tell you which station numbers to throw the waste away at. One downside is when I come during 30mins before closing time, they tell me on a numerous number or occasions to throw everything away at one station, be it cardboard, general waste, plastic or anything for that matter... This in my opinion defeats the purpose of this place being a recycling centre.

A top place which is always really effective and efficient. Really friendly staff especially Shaun who is a top dude and gave me some sound advice regarding waste management! The appointment system is wonderful I hope it stays beyond Covid.

Went this morning with an assortment of goods. When I pulled up one of the workers was by me. He was so helpful sorting and moving my goods. What a pleasant and helpful experience being a not very strong lady. Very grateful to the lovely staff.

Very good. All the staff were really helpful. At the end I realised I had a large heavy glass table which I started to take to the other end. A kind member of staff offered to take it over for me. Thank you to him and it was pouring with rain.

Visited there there for to unload commercial rubbishes. I put the address on the map and getting there however it gets me to main gate which only give service for residents and non commercial. I asked the guy at the security where is place for commercial unloading. He doesn't have any idea, luckily one worker from there told me that the entrance for commercial unloading at the back on the A45 Small Heath Hwy. For using the Tep regarding commercial tep you have to register via Birmingham City council and paying annual fee for registration something like £150 and for every visit you have to call them to book a slot it is really taking time like 40 minutes on the phone and pay like £80 for every visit. After booking appointment you can visit with your registered vehicle over there you need to wear safety shoes and helmet and hi Vis vest to enter. Also once you got in you first go to measurement point they measure weight of your Van or vehicle, it should under 3500kg if not they gonna charge you double for your single visit. After all they point out the place you can do unloading your loads .

Visited a few days ago. Very easy system to book a slot online. Excellent facility to dispose of anything and everything that's not wanted anymore. Ricky was very helpful. Not an easy job as probably has to deal with all sorts, but still incredibly friendly. Thank you.

Bad experience went last week 18th Sept around 12pm with car full of household rubbish and got turned away by a very rude racist older white man wearing glasses. Very unfriendly wouldn't make any eye contact kept ignoring me while I was trying to explain. I was slightly late and apologised and unlike the other decent staff this guy couldn't care less. He was very rude and told me to go off site and book again knowing there is no slots available right away. Then started to threaten me with CCtv when I continued to request to drop off the rubbish as I drove 20 minutes out and I was already here. Then he said they are very busy! haha there was 2 cars there! I politely left. I will be putting a complaint in. It's a no wonder people fly tip around Birmingham it's a disgusting place and I see staff all the time from Birmingham city council cleaning one side of the road and leaving out the other. No wonder people couldn't care less. I will be booking every single slot in your system and i wont show up let's see how busy you really Are!!! evil person!!

Terrible booking system. It needs to give you other times available if nothing available at your first request! Have to keep going back and putting details in again and again and again. Needs to say nothing at that time, however we this is the next available time! No point having 1 on your door step and having to go miles across town. Should have individual booking for each site!

Disgusting. My son (an epilepsy suffer) was interrogated by a miserable middle-aged worker as to why he had not driven himself to the recycling centre and why he’d not bought another person to unload the vehicle. My son is not allowed to drive and felt quite bad about being spoken to so rudely just for asking for assistance to empty our car. If this “gentleman” dislikes his job so much he should find another one. Will not use this facility again.

Andrew is a true gentleman and a valued member of the tysely depot. He is very polite and always willing to help, I have seen him help people struggling to dispose of heavy items. Keep up the fantastic work Andrew.

Booked the appointment online, was greeted by an assistant inside the recycling facility who asked for i.d. etc and what items were being disposed of and then told us which skip to put the items in. Overall, a very slick system that is easy to use and the staff are very friendly also.

Visited here on a showery Friday afternoon. Was quickly told at the kiosk what skips to use. Dropped off all my cardboard and then the heavens opened!!! I dashed to dump some mirrors then back to the car for the final, and messiest, drop off. The rain got really heavy so we sat in the car hoping it would ease off. Two staff members ran over to us and said 'it's ok, we'll do it'!!! Ricky and Brendan went out of their way to help us and were cheerful and friendly. Made our visit much quicker and drier than it could have been. Thank you

I have always had a good experience when visiting the Tysley Tip as far as I can remember. I visited on Friday 22/09/23 and it was a wet, windy, dark and miserable evening. I am a young guy who was able to empty the car myself but the 2 lads who were working that evening went out of their way to help me and get on my way. Maybe it was due to the fact the Blues were playing and they were eager to get out as was I. Either way, much appreciated! Thanks lads.

Great recycling center. Open until 8 is ideal. The online booking system is straightforward enough. Seems a pain but it beats having to que for ages like it was pre covid.

The people down at Tyseley are always friendly, approachable and happy to help. On my most recent trip I had managed to wedge a mattress and a chair and other materials in a boot. I was wrestling with the chair when super star Ricky came and helped me out, not only with the chair, but the mattress and ironing board I had forgot to mention! Thanks for making a stressful week that much easier ☺️

I visited Tyseley today with 11 bags of paper after father passed away so raw situation. However Andrew Ricky and Wayne were all so kind and helpful . These guys have a hard job with probably some very difficult customers and they were just great lads. I got them some chocs after as well deserved thanks lads for changing my day from sadness to a smile🌟🌟💫

Overall a good place but I can’t believe how much good things that people leave there they throw away. Like mirrors and chairs all in good condition they couldn’t give given away so it’s reusing and not wasting. Quite a shame

I used the recycling center regularly, from May to August, going 1 to 3 times a week. Whilst there were some good points such as: The appointment system which shortened waiting times. Also the people I encountered in the booth have been pleasant. Unfortunately this is heavily outweighed by the staff that work in the middle. They never helped, often barking instructions like they were concentration camp guards. When they could help, they would all congregate in the middle with their broomsticks. The only person I have seen help anyone was a simp with brown hair and tattooed arms. He would only help women, and it must be noted if they wore a hijab she would not be helped, she had to carry her own stuff. This person helped a woman reverse into a parking slot, closing my car door out of which we were taking out stuff as do lots of cars. I could have said he damaged and I am sure he is not insured to touch vehicles. The lady he was trying to impress said she was putting things in the wrong place but he said he wouldn't say anything anyway.

We attended Tyseley tip this evening having booked an appointment this morning. The booking process was really easy and we even got to choose the time that was convenient for us. When we arrived at the recycling centre the staff there were so helpful, friendly and efficient especially Ricky who took the time to help us unload the car and show us the new reusable goods area which we thought was a great idea- one persons junk his another persons treasure. Excellent service from start to finish. Keep up the great work, Sarah and Jill (Mother and Daughter)
