I stayed 2 nights at the Tropicana and that was 2 nights to long. This is a hotel I will not go back to. The rooms are very out dated which I can look past, the problem is they are old and dirty. The dirty carpet was very wet from the previous guest, there was some drink lids and change left from someone previous and could have been picked up. There isn’t a fridge, microwave, or even coffee in the room. You are charged a resort fee but the pools are closed and the fitness room is only open from 8-5. There are not a lot of food options in the hotel so plan to walk or drive to find food. If you have a car, drive past this hotel and stay somewhere else!

Stayed at hotel for 3 nights. Not sure how its rated as a 4-star hotel, felt like a bare minimum 2-star. Upon arrival, were not offered room payed for, but was told room was in the 'remodeled' tower (Paradise Tower). Room was very old, large red stains on the carpet, no sound proofing on conjoining room door, bathtub was dirty and panel was open on bathroom ceiling. Asked to move rooms and changed to the Bungalow area. Bathrooms looked slightly newer so we stayed, however experienced other major drawbacks over the stay: toilet not bolted to floor, only given 2 pillows, no sheet between comforter and bed, no fridge and noise from loading dock outside sliding door. Biggest issue was A/C. Broke late at night on second night, called front desk to send maintenance. Came quickly, but couldn't resolve issue without going into bathroom ceiling to disable. Were eventually able to turn off A/C from the wall panel, but fan blew constantly directly onto bed. Asked for a discount at checkout because of troubles and was only offered a refund on one night of the resort fee (which I don't understand what that got us since the pool was closed, but seems to be standard on strip hotels). On-site food was good (Robert Irvine's and Starbucks). Casino was less smokey than others, probably due to fewer patrons. Location was pretty good.

This hotel was a joke. Let’s start with the outside. It was completely dilapidated, with paint peeling, the window shutters falling off, tiny windows, making the rooms, dark and drab. Zoom in on my photo. Those windows are not open, it is the outside covers falling off. The rooms were outdated and smelled musty from years of cigarette, smoke liquor and possibly poor cleaning. The mattresses were comfortable and the sheets were clean. The shower barely trickled out. The obsolete wooden slats over the windows made the room devoid of light. They were thick and heavy, and would stick when we tried to open them. The staff were rushed. When we asked questions about places to eat or Hilton Honors, since this is a Hilton affiliate hotel, they had no clue what we were talking about. Most spoke little English. One staff member said they would bring up, a blanket and some water bottles so we didn’t have to come down and get them, nobody ever came. Many of the restaurants inside the hotel were closed, or had strange hours. The pool was closed the entire time we were there, which we were never told. Be prepared for a long walk from the front desk to reach the elevators for your room. At least the elevators were fast. The hotel is located at the very far end of the strip. It has no shuttle from the airport and the monorail doesn’t come to Tropicana. This hotel may have been amazing back in the 50s and 60s, but now it is a thing of the past. Luckily, it is up for demolition next year. We found out that the price we paid for this room was equal to the room price of quite a few other hotels.

Nice hotel, has all the amenities you would want to enjoy at a hotel/ casino. Definitely older in style. Not a lot of tables to play. Limited selections. It's located across the street from MGM and Excalibur. There are walk ways to cross both streets for ease and safety. The walkway to the MGM takes you to the monorail. Unfortunately it is closing April 2nd, 2024. We stopped in to check it out before they closed. The man working the table of roulette who was 90 years old told us it won't be torn down until maybe December or January 2025.

My husband and I booked a suite with a jacuzzi and sauna during the week of Christmas. We had an absolutely amazing time. The staff was very attentive. The dealers were very friendly, especially Tim. The cocktail waitresses were very nice, especially Adella and Lilly. Jesse, one of the floor managers, gave great restaurant recommendations. My husband had a health scare on our last night, and security was on the ball and helpful. It's a shame the casino, with all its history, will be getting torn down. We've enjoyed coming here over the years. Thank you!

I reserved the hotel with a 3rd party like so many others. 30 minutes in check in line only to hear whether I have to go with smoking rooms or pay extra per night. He said because I got it cheaper, they can’t offer non smoking rooms!! The service is terrible. I called to ask for a portable heater because the room is very cold but the front desk lady was rude and aggressive. I will tell you guys this is more like a motel than a 4 star hotel. Very disappointing. They just want to ripe you off and don’t even want to spend the extra cash to hire some professional staff. I asked for two pair of slippers for us, he brought one and dropped it in front of me instead of politely handing it to me. This place is a joke!!! I can’t believe what I see. The towels are too old and smell terrible. My entire body started itching after drying myself with it. This place is an absolute shame for Hilton. The only reason I gave that extra star is because of the cleaning lady, Roz, who is an extremely kind and helpful lady.

This hotel is conveniently located on the strip. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was clean as was the casino. We were able to get a late checkout and to store our bags which gave us a little extra time to enjoy the area. Our only wish was better lighting in the rooms and bathroom. Very dim lights which made it hard to get ready, put on make up etc. We felt the low light made the room seem dark and gloomy. Otherwise, great property! Lots of amenities in and around the hotel.

Hotel is very dated but nice. Great outdoor pool and bar. Restaurants are few. Expect to spend $$$$ for drinks but that's everywhere. Staff is great! Do not be fooled by booking on 3rd party site that looks like you're booking directly. They may have deeply discounted rates but you'll forfeit your Honors points (you won't get any) and points towards free night stays including your playing. You won't earn any points for this either. In addition I had to pay for "upgrade" when told I was booking room with pool view, and resort fee was not included and had to pay extra at check in for this as well. I was totally lied to by that site even when asked.

I had an awesome 2-day stay at the Tropicana Las Vegas, and it was everything I'd hoped for. The view from my window was breathtaking, especially at night. Pro tip: Try the restaurants on-site; they're top-notch. Parking was convenient, and the location is perfect for exploring the Strip. If you're looking for a memorable Vegas experience, this place is a solid bet! 🌆🍽️

It's a good hotel with a casino on the first floor. The location of the hotel is pretty important if you want to truly enjoy the Vegas strip experience. Tropicana is ideal in that sense as it is not too far from the main action. It is possible to walk to New York and Paris circles very comfortably. There are a lot of shopping and food avenues close by so that's also a benefit. The rooms are okay at best, and the service is minimal. We asked for a pair of scissors and they told us that we would have to buy it. So it's very obvious that ANYTHING over and above the bed in your room will be charged. They have a Starbucks inside their lobby so that's convenient and their casino is pretty decent too. They also have a pool area, but it's not very happening as they don't play music and stuff like that. If you want an affordable, decent strictly functional experience, Tropicana is a good choice. If you're looking for luxury, and a fancy vibe, look elsewhere.

I had a great time at the Tropicana in Vegas. The casino floor was fun and lively, with a variety of games and entertainment options. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. I cannot comment on the rooms since I have not stayed there, but they looked clean and comfortable from the outside. The location was also convenient, as it was in close walking distance to many attractions such as the MGM Grand, the New York-New York, and the Excalibur. I would definitely recommend the Tropicana to anyone looking for a fun and affordable place to enjoy Vegas.

We read a lot of poor reviews for this hotel before booking and so were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and cleanliness of the hotel. It may not be the most luxury accommodation in Vegas but it was comfortable and spacious and well located on the Strip, and having found a great awards deal for three nights, those were the things that were important to us. We wish there were more in-room amenities like a fridge/microwave, but I don't think Tropicana is the only Vegas hotel that leaves those out and we did appreciate the free parking. We would absolutely stay here again if the price is right.

Location is nice. The hotel is huge. If you are in the club rooms you will have a long walk back to the front. You can stay in the paradise rooms near entrance but they charge a fee per day. Hotel is not nasty but it isn’t that clean either. Bathroom floor was still dirty after asking for it to be cleaned. Shower curtain had something green on it. But maybe it was a stain I hope. Picture frame had gum on it that obviously had been there for a long time because it was hard. Also there was some black hair in shower and it wasn’t ours. They also gave us 1 wash cloth for 4 people our last day they said they ran out. When I checked out they charged $25 for 1 phone call. My friend had got separated from us and her phone died. She went back to the room to call me to let me know she was safe. It was less than a minute. The front desk said they would see about getting it waived. They asked the manager Nelly and she said no. I asked could I speak to her and she doesn’t listen well or provide good customer service. I explained the whole situation and she said why did your friend not just call you from her cell when that happened. I said she couldn’t use her phone it had died and she knew we would be worried so she ran back to room to let us know she was safe then hung up. Nelly never smiled or even introduced herself or showed any empathy. She said well she made the call so it’s $25. I would never stay here again due to bad customer service from NELLY and the fact I had to ask for towels 4 times the last day then they gave us 1 wash cloth.

Hotel is a bit rundown. You definitely get what you pay for. The rates in Vegas are just crazy now. My chair was stained in the room with something that can only be bodily fluids. 🥴. If it's stained and you can't get the stain out, just throw it away. Right? The staff is nice and the cleaning ladies are even better. Views are decent. Definitely needs a refresh. A huge part of the pool area is closed off. Decent gym.

We stayed for 4 nights and paid just under $600 which is relatively inexpensive for the strip. We stayed at the Tropicana because we are Hilton Diamond members and usually have great experiences at Hilton properties but this was not one of those occasions. The "upgrade" they gave us for being diamond members was not an upgrade at all in my opinion...it was a 10 minute trip just to get to the front door by the strip and there wasn't anything special about the room, not even a view. So, we asked to be swapped to the Paradise tower which is closer to the strip. The room was clean (minus the stained carpets) when we got up to it, but the AC was at 78°. We immediately turned it down to 64° but through out the entire trip it never got below 73°. Our second day we went down to the front desk and asked them to send maintenance up to fix it...they never did and never followed up with us. The front grouping of poker tables look like they haven't been in use for months because there is a layer of dust all over them....not a good look when you walk in the door. Outside they only have 1/3rd of the pool area open which was pretty disappointing since it was over 110° when we were there. I realize that this location will possibly be closed down within the next 2 years but if they want people to come spend their money there before then they should try to keep the guests happy. We did have a few great interactions with 2 staff members, Wendy at the front desk checked us in and was trying to be very accommodating when we didn't enjoy our first room, so thank you Wendy! We also sat at the Chill'm bar in the gaming area one of the evenings and had a pleasant interaction with the bartender Brian, who said he had been at Tropicana for about 12 or 15 years and would be with them till the end. It was nice to see the dedication in at least a few people while we were there. It was not the worst hotel experience we have ever had but it definitely wasn't the best by far. We will chose to stay elsewhere when we are back in January. Sad to see a piece of Las Vegas history going down the tubes.

I had reservations about staying here considering it's an older property. Been there since 1958 however. Its not bad at all. No it's not the newer modern style hotels but this property really is a gem. It's HUGE! Service was great. I honestly had no complaints. I didn't hear any noise I slept like a baby room 2220 is amazing!

Love our rooms very spacious. Clean bed. Room service was exceptional. When you ask for towels or toiletries they are there within mins. I gave them 5 stars for the room service. My 10 year old loves the pool. The pool has an on duty life guard. It has a gym as well if you want to work out. The lobby is not too crowded. It's right on the strip so everything was walking distance. We were able to visit MGM, M and M, NY NY, Excalibur, Hard Rock, and easy access to the monorail. The only issue I have was outside of the hotel, but they have good security. I understand due to location there were a lot of transients and tourists.

We know they’re going to tear this place down, but it wasn’t what it used to be. Not even a facecloth in the room. It seems they’ve already shut the door mentally and just really don’t care anymore. The lady checking us in was just lovely and truly an asset to the Hilton name. We used to love staying here because as we come in a massive semi truck, it is one of the only locations we know of that has parking for people like us.

This hotel is lovely. Only have a few disappointments. They need refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms. The second day I was there out of 4 days. Housekeeping did not provide us with any face towels. They stated they was out our whole stay. Other then that the beds sleep comfortably and tub are nice size for two. The pool is nice and heated. The casino was clean and nice. They had a lot to do inside of the hotel. Anytime we wanted to leave the hotel it was always a taxi cab available. The location was great! It was near a lot of tourist places.

My only real complaint was that the rooms really need to be updated but there was four of us staying in one room and it was rather spacious. I wished that the room we had would have had a refrigerator so that we could have kept some of our bottled waters cold but otherwise the room was fine. I ate at the restaurant in the hotel and the food was very good. We did use the pool one time during our stay and it was very nice. The hotel is at the far south end of the strip so you do have to do a lot of walking either up and down the strip or to the monorail to get where you want to go but it was a great location. We did need extra towels and we had an issue that maintenance came up and checked and they were very fast checked everything and brought us extra towels immediately so the service was very good.

Nothing against the place overall, but it is obvious that it's days are limited and it will be torn down for a new project before long. The service was fine, but there are areas where it becomes obvious that upkeep isn't the top priority anymore. The card system to let me in my room was horrible. The one on my door had a slot to insert, but the instructions on the card itself was for more of a tap entry. Each time I needed to get in I had to try multiple combinations of inserting, tapping, bending up, down, etc before I eventually gained entry and it never seemed to accept the same method twice. Bright points: Location - very convenient to the strip, I walked to everything on the strip I wanted to see. Cost - relatively low cost of stay on the strip when considering resort and parking fees. Parking - parking is free, although you may end up with quite a walk from your free spot. Starbucks - full features SB downstairs, although I was too cheap on this trip to partake of it. Still nice having it there if I did want it.

If you ADORE marijuana then this is your spot. The halls are thick with pot so bad we had to stuff wet towels under the door. Im not anti weed but seriously this was off the chain as far as smoke friendly goes. Just walking to the elevator have us a contact high. The furniture in the room was ancient. The ac barely worked. There was no staff to be seen other than the main lobby but it was an experience. Won't ever stay there again. Ever. Because they are tearing it down soon. It was not worth the price. I do not recommend.

Went to a show on the premises and it was fantastic. Restaurant was pricey but the food was great. Most everyone was was very nice except a security guard. My wife left her jacket at a slot machine. It was turned in to him. We described it perfectly but he asked a strange question. Why did you leave it. He was not a nice person.

No blackouts in bedroom No mini fridge in bedroom. No coffee/ tea facilities either. It's a big hotel. Our room was far away from reception and nobody offered us help with luggage (CI and CO). Parking is dangerous. It seems to be public and there is no security. They stole a piece of our car. The rooms was very good. Very ample bathroom and very comfortable bed. We loved that.

I was surprised how clean it was. It looks better on the inside than out. I like the location of this place but I don’t like the parking situation for guest. Depending where you stay it can be quite a walk. I had bad service at the public house restaurant Saturday afternoon nobody came to my table so I walked out. Being this was the only rest. Open in morning I sat at the bar and it was such different vibe. All were helpful. The ladies in check in counter were the best! Good for one night stay

The room was decent with a comfortable bed. That said, a panel on the wall was hanging off, the TV is very limited in channels - and resets to a loud volume every time the menu is pulled up. The website said that a coffee machine was included, when we asked for it at reception they said it was ~$30. They sent it up quickly but then never replaced the coffee pods once they had been drunk. Also the charge wasn't added to the bill so that's unclear. Large cocktails by the pool include a souvenir cup and the website and inside bar suggest refills are cheaper once you already have the cup. Would have been nice if the pool did that but apparently not. Other stuff: restaurant staff unwelcoming, other staff (except cleaners who were lovely) seem to have an attitude that it's not their job to help. The location was fine. Bus stop and monorail nearby. It's at the south end of the strip so getting to Fremont Street takes a long time. But near the airport so that's not too much hassle. I didn't use the casino but it looks like all the others on the strip.

Hotel needs updates but has clean rooms. Rumor has it the hotel will soon be the home of a Major League Baseball Park. Come visit this iconic resort while you can, table games have lower limits than most. Pool area was good, good deals on cabanas and love the refill deals on drinks. Great pool staff, very attentive. Great location, easy walk to MGM Grand, Excalibur and monorail depot.

Had to get a hotel at the last minute. They were the cheapest on a Saturday night. The furniture looked old and outdated. There was no refrigerator or microwave. But all we needed was a shower and bed. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very nice too.

The main issue is the noise. Windows aren't insulated very well so airport noises and sirens can be heard very well. The rooms also don't have blackout shades and are otherwise outdated. Proximity to the Strip is the main benefit. I'd only recommend staying here if you're getting a real good deal.

This place is a dump and it's understandable why it is closing soon to be demolished. I can't speak to the rooms, but from the outside the hotel towers already look abandoned as some windows look to be broken. The casino is tiny, but actually looked pretty nice inside. Random things like the escalators were broken and it doesn't look like they are going to bother fixing much before the wrecking ball comes.

We are loyal Hilton guests and this was not Hilton standard. Spent $500 for 3 nights + resort fee. Still confused on the resort aspect as all of the restaurants are closed/overpriced and gross. It’s like walking into an old 80s movie. Rooms are gross and old. Had to change room twice. Thank God the cleaning person came and made it barely livable. The cleaning people are amazing and hardworking. This hotel needs to be shut down. I’m shocked Hilton would even claim this property. Pool area is gross. It’s so outdated and not worth it! Look elsewhere —- SO OVERPRICED

I come a few times a month from Dallas. No microwave, No mini fridge, No minibar, No blackout curtains only thick blinds, No coffee maker, The “toiletries” provided are one shampoo, one conditioner, and one lotion the entire stay unless you ask for more. Three large towels to a room. There is usually a desk and a chair in some rooms, a longer desk and extra chair. The plugs on the nightstand usually never work in any rooms we’ve been in for club towers. A safe in the room is accessible. The beds & pillows are super comfy only one time we checked in and the room hadn’t been turned over yet we walked into the “clean” room only to find the bed not made and towels on the ground. The ice machine is usually by the elevator as you walk up and there’s a beverage vending machine. The walk to the club towers is a little long but there isn’t usually a wait at the elevators. The restroom and coffee shop by the club towers isn’t ever open/working. There is fee wifi for up to 3 guests per room. The pool looks great from afar it’s long and entertains guests of all ages the slots are good and the luggage ramp guys are always a big help if you’re looking for a deal but don’t need many amenities this might be for you it’s right next to the MGM so for us that’s a plus it’s also not too far from the airport which we love

Bring on the wrecking ball. Tropicana Las Vegas is an example of a hotel that just needs to be put out of its misery. Started with a very long check in process due to only two employees checking guests in on a Sunday even with a line of over 30 people, followed by the journey to the room that included an escalator that was broken all week (the single one that leads to the tower rooms - apparently not a priority for repair), an elevator with a floor held together by plenty of duct tape and missing buttons, and a walk over some of the most soiled and threadbare carpet to ever grace a hotel (more duct tape). Rooms didn't improve the stay unless you like the musty damp smell that seems to penetrate the entire space. Lots of beat up tired furniture and old feeling mattresses, loose plumbing fixtures, worn out electrical outlets (found one that worked), and a plethora of dirt and mystery stains everywhere. The quest for a steady supply of hot water was an adventure in itself along with a shower floor that resembled an acrylic trampoline. My advice would be to stay anywhere else. This property does not represent a good value, unique amenities, great gaming, or a prime location. It's shameful to call this a Vegas strip hotel. It's obvious those who are running it have given up completely or have no idea what they are doing.

The room was good enough. It was clean and a comfortable bed. We stayed in the bungalow section, and we had a nice view of the pool. The rooms ac didn't work, but I had a nice breeze with the patio slider open. The hotel is at a great location on the strip. Must see the Prince show! Amazing!

The rooms need remodeling for sure. They're giving 80s Vegas. It was clean & stocked but just older, dingy looking. If youre just going to gamble & need a cheap room, they'll do but if you want to go in style, not so much. The restaurant inside was lacking flavor but the mimosa carafe was a great deal. The pool is cute but not quite as nice as the stock photos. Half of it was closed. The pool bar drinks & service saved the day! The dole whip drink was delightful & the bartender was so accommodating & pleasant.

Stayed here using a vacation voucher who contracts with this hotel. When I brought my vouchers which were for two sequential stays, they lost the 2nd one somehow, didn't have it entered. I'm out on the strip sight seeing and getting calls from the hotel asking me why I haven't checked out and taken my stuff. Super stressful. They said they needed to get verification from the vacation package provider since all I had was a photo of the voucher (not sure why this wasn't enough to make them work harder for me). I had the vacation provider try to reach out to them and the reservation staff at Tropicana were being really difficult. They wouldn't tell me what exactly they needed from the vacation provider, even though I had the provider on the other line ready to provide it. Eventually the vacation provider found the email that they had already sent WITH a response from Tropicana and forwarded that as verification. I couldn't believe how insensitive they were to the fact that they would be in possession of all my stuff from my room if they didn't fix their mistake readily, no could I believe how unhelpful they were when my vacation provider was trying to get their cooperation. And all for it to actually end up their fault entirely. They didn't apologize, they just called and told me they "received verification" from them regarding my stay. If I was going to Vegas again I would see if I could stay somewhere else for a comparable rate and choose that instead because this place is hardly worth it. The house keeping staff of course are not to blame for any of this and they were amazing and great at their jobs. The most positive part of the experience.

I liked this casino. It's a little bit old school in it's decor, but I like that about it. When we went on a weeknight in August it was not very busy so there were plenty of games available to play. My wife and I enjoyed our time there. Can't say anything about the hotel and amenities for we have never stayed there. But the casino is very nice.

As an individual who frequents various accommodations for business and leisure, my recent stay at Tropicana Hotel, touted as a 4-star establishment, left much to be desired. Upon arrival, the absence of basic amenities commonly expected in a hotel of this caliber was evident. Notably, the room lacked essential appliances such as a fridge, a coffee machine, and a microwave, which are almost standard in most accommodations, limiting the convenience and flexibility for guests, especially those on extended stays. The absence of an exhaust fan in the bathroom significantly detracted from the room's overall comfort and hygiene standards. The lack of adequate ventilation led to discomfort and humidity and posed potential health concerns. Moreover, there was a grease leakage from the roof of the bathroom. The room's furnishings were appalling, with torn-off furniture that exhibited signs of neglect and lack of maintenance. This, coupled with the old and visibly unclean carpet, created an atmosphere that fell far short of the expected standards for a 4-star hotel. It was disappointing to see such disregard for upkeep and guest comfort. One of the more surprising oversights was the nonaligned bed. Given the growing awareness of health and ergonomic considerations, the absence of such a basic feature was unexpected, leading to discomfort during sleep. Despite the hotel's favorable rating, these shortcomings significantly impacted the overall experience. It's disheartening to witness a property with potential marred by neglect and lack of attention to crucial guest needs. This hotel should be considered as something other than 4-star; it is barely a 2-star. I am attaching the pictures of everyone to look at and think twice before booking your reservation.

Prime location! Staying at the Tropicana, you're in the center of the strip. Walking distance to all the resorts--the Bellagio, the Venetian and even The High Roller if you want to take on that experience; find tickets online though!! Across the street from the New York New York and catch any of the shows that are playing! Beautiful, huge pool but they only open at 10. Wait by the door early as seats and spots fill up quickly!! Staff were courteous and friendly.

Paid for a room upgrade. I think I was hustled because that room wasn't much to desire. The location was great but that was about it. The floors were dirty, the building requires much needed renovation. The rooms are outdated as well. No fridge or microwave. Just underwhelming to say the least.

Love it! I was there to go to see Purple Rain (Prince) impersonator but it was a nice walk through the lobbies, shops and casino also their Karaoke bar was really nice. The Purple Rain show was better than concerts I've been to; their whole cast was very very good👍! Excellent show!

Enjoyed my stay here as always. The rooms were clean as always and the hotel was clean. The food was excellent at each of the in hotel restaurants and the coffee shop option was great. A coupe of suggestions: although the rooms are clean they are seriously decorated for the 70s. It would be nice to re decorate. As a diamond member there doesn’t seem to be any real perks so coming here with an expectation for additional services makes me want to find another option. Parking is great through the week is great until Friday and Saturday night. Make sure you get your parking Early because members don’t have any special parking privileges.

I didn't get to go into any of the rooms but the hallways were really nice and the pool was perfect. It was a nice day and staff was excellent really nice. The whole place had a fun joyful pleasant appeal to it. It's cool too cuz there is like an area back where the kids can get you know not wild but splash and it doesn't affect any of the adults I thought that was pretty cool. It also has a nice outside wedding area where you can get married... Enjoy some pictures I took.

The rooms are very acceptable. There is a lot of natural light and the bathrooms are very large. That being said, in my room, there was a light ringing the entire time, and in the bathroom you cannot turn on the lights without turning on the fan. The restaurants around the rooms are also very nice. Overall not a perfect experience, but definitely a nice one.

We were placed in smoking room first night even though we booked non-smoking. The room had trash and the beds were dirty. We switched rooms & the undisclosed resort fee was discounted. However you do not have to pay a resort fee, as it is actually not legally binding. Ask to have this fee dismissed at any resort. The second night we switched again to non-smoking room which still smelled of cigarettes. The casino/hotel is poorly ventilated. Also, the rooms are not easily accessible from the lobby. It may be a far hike for some travelers.

We stayed at the Tropicana from September 15-22 having changed from New York New York because of the cyber attack on MGM resorts and we were pleasantly happy. Yes the rooms are old, the shower head was almost falling off but everything was clean, the air-conditioning worked. Beds were very comfortable, pillows were very comfortable. I need a fridge for medical reasons though and had requested one but it wasn’t until the third day that we got it and I don’t know where they pulled this one out but it was so old and abused I have attached a picture. Also I need a shower chair usually so I had also requested one and again on the third day I hadn’t gotten it yet but they finally brought me one but it is so old I was scared to sit on it so needless to say I didn’t use it. I WOULD’NT STAY AT TROPICANA IF YOU HAVE MOBILITY/HEALTH NEEDS! Service was pretty good but we did have a bit of issues with the daily maid service. They have an issue with having your cards out on the door so if you don’t have your card off the door by 9am you don’t get room service room cleaning service. The pool area is great. Drinks are quite expensive though. Restaurants were all good. The Tropicana is going to be bulldozed late next year because of a baseball stadium so we could feel the “it doesn’t matter idea” but it was still a good stay. Maybe stay there because it is being bulldozed and have one last stay at an icon.

An older hotel that is a bit rough around the edges now. I guess they are going to be tearing it down in a couple years, and you can tell they aren't doing stuff like replacing furniture or carpets like they normally would. Also was very spread out; felt like we had to walk miles to get from the front desk to our room. Despite all that, it wasn't a bad experience overall. I liked the decorative ceiling in the casino, would be great if they could preserve that and move it somewhere else somehow. Also liked that the casino wasn't so huge and overwhelming that you get lost walking through it. And the pool area was great as well. Overall, i'm glad i got to experience this part of Vegas history before it goes.

My stay at the Tropicana was affordable. The room was clean and I had no problems with any of the amenities. Unfortunately, when compared to the neighboring Hotel/Casinos… the Tropicana is a bit dated. If I was going to shoot a 70s movie in a Casino… this is the place. Its a great location, but needs remodeled.

Rooms are average plus. Room service is good. The hotel is quiet. From the towers to the street is a 5- 5-minute walk. There is only one restaurant, one bar, one coffee place, and a small convenience store in the facility, and the rooms lack a coffee maker. Adding these facilities to the rooms is greatly appreciated.

Saw the MJ live show which was fantastic. The ticket prices were very inexpensive and it was quite entertaining. Sad to hear that the Tropicana will no longer exist soon and they're going to put up another lousy baseball stadium. Too many sports venues to make traffic even worse.

Great stay for the price. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location on the strip. Pool areas looked nice but we didn't get a chance to use them. Was fun staying at a part of "old Vegas" since the Tropicana has been around since 1957.

Checking in was easy everybody was really friendly, but the rooms are very outdated. There’s no refrigerator in the room or coffee machine. The first night I went to jump in the shower felt warm then it got cold the next night it was nice hot water, they do have a nice restaurant downstairs. Also a nice bar, the bar host was very professional and friendly Amber. She was amazing but I don’t think I stay in this hotel again, but will be coming back to the bar and restaurant. Also don’t expect good TV service you’ll be lucky to get a working channel.

I did not stay here . I had a brief meeting to attend. But the casino was very clean. Yes it is older, but honestly it was less crowded, and more open, with less noise. The Staff was super friendly. We wished we had stayed here, it was the cleanest we saw on the strip

Reasonable rates for a decent room. Nothing special, but it was clean, quiet, and everything worked. The casino was good and not overly packed like some. The pool was nice.

I was reading the reviews for this place and they were pretty 50/50 and I was scared. But honestly it was amazing. The check in staff (Filipina lady) was SO nice. We got an upgraded room, which was clean, and so spacious. There was an ice machine too. The pool was wonderful. Whenever we called house keeping up to trade some things out they were SUPER quick and so polite. We’d definitely stay here again!!

Parking was a nightmare. The building looks like it should have been gone years ago. Inside, it was surprisingly decent. The whiskey bar was decent. The cigar lounge was closed. The theatre for the prince concert was nice and clean. The staff was great. The prince show was damn good for me not being a prince fan. I had a blast!

The hotel is a bit aged and it shows. I feel like that's part of its charm! I had just a couple complaints 1. The air filter in our room was terribly clogged. 2. The big chair in the room was stained by an unknown liquid. 3. The view was a bit lackluster. Now for the good 1. The staff was amazing! Every need (within reason, of course) was satisfied 😌 2. It felt like we were seeing a bit of Vegas history. If it weren't for the overly digital slots, it could have felt like we stepped back in time 50 years. 3. Fancy dining! 4. Excellent pricing on our room. 5. Security for the parking garage was outstanding! I had no issues or concerns parking my car for 3 days and not feeling like i had to be checking on it every hour. Please, go check out this piece of history!

I felt the atmosphere was sterile. It lacked the tropical theme of 10 years ago. Mostly empty shops. The rooms were needing upgrades. We used to always stay at the Tropicana, but its pretty unimpressive now

Everything was great until I left my phone and wallet case in a women's bathroom and someone stole it, used my debit and credit cards, I tracked my old phone and got right in front of the person who did it and I was told to let it go. They should have spoken with the person or asked them to show the contents of her purse. She took not only my phone, credit, debit and business debit and ID. Used the cards and then tried to track me through find my phone. She also accessed my private files. There was not a lot of help or understanding in this situation. Maybe if it had been theirs it would have been different. I didn't think I could get on the plane home to my kids. TSA was very nice but I went through a very intense search process to board. I am not very happy. The police department also was not very kind. Still dealing with the report process because I have to do a lot of research. Once they find the person I'm pressing charges to the fullest extent in the hopes they are locked up for a long time so they can't do this to someone else.

Very old hotel which is due to be closing in the next 18-24 months according to the news. The smoke smell is very present in the casino. The air didn't work very well in the room which made sleeping very uncomfortable for me. The location was very convenient to everything I enjoyed doing.

Located close to the airport, the Hotel and Casino are convenient for a quick overnight. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the pool area is comfortable offering nicely shaded areas as well as bright sunny seating. The hotel is showing its age, despite having once been the grandest lady of her time and the original high-class casino hosting the likes of Desi Arnaz. Sadly the location is slated for demolition to make way for a new Major League Baseball Park. I recommend staying at the Tropicana while you still can, to relive the glory days of Las Vegas

Incredible that this hotel is branded by Hilton, rooms are outdated and can tell that no maintanence has been given in years, heard they are tearing it down soon, so I assume they've decided not to spend a dime on the hotel. The room was very smelly of mold and the bathroom too, tried to pay for an upgrade to get out of the hotel but the front desk was not accommodating. The only plus is that they provide free parking but, not worth the money spent.

I stayed in an older garden view room with balcony. It was quiet for a weekday and the space was large, great for relaxing away from the action when needed, carpet was heavily stained from many a party foul but everything so feel clean where it counted (bathrooms, linens). A little older and more rundown with a slight odor from smoke and the ac unit but that cleared up once I opened the slider door to the balcony. Bed and likes were comfortable.

I went for the Purple Reign show. Definitely a must see!! They put on one HECK of a show. I was on my feet singing the entire time. Get the VIP seats. It's worth the additional cost. Best show ever. They took me back to 1999...

Check in was easy. Shuttles offered to strip and grocery. Clean, sizable king suite. 17 south restaurant on site was nice. Arturo's pizza (also onsite) was delicious, we loved the Greek salad. Drinks were delicious and well made. Pool and lazy river was a great relief to the heat.

Sine the last time I was here in 2007 the hotel has changed hands. Now a Double Tree Hilton. The casino floor is top notch with all modern games. The pool is good and clean. From the outside the hotel looks neglected, but trust me it's value for money and quiet.

In A Nutshell: -Ah the legendary Tropicana Hotel & Casino. -There's a good reason why it's going to be torn down, since it's pretty dated. -Like most things in Vegas, you get built up, used & then torn down & replaced. -I walked the entire casino & hotel, even checked out the swimming pool area. -This is the site of the future home of the hopefully Las Vegas A's. -I can see why the A's wanted this location, there are two pedestrian bridges that cross over Las Vegas Blvd & Flamingo which makes it very easy for foot traffic to enter the future baseball stadium. -Plus the way the stadium is planned to be situated the outfield will have nice views of The Strip. Overall, it was nice to be able to explore this relic before it's gone forever. LET'S GO VE-GAS! Go A's.

Decent hotel. I was only there 1 night so I didn't get to fully experience the hotel. There were not many food choices. Of course, all were pricey. The water was cut off around 9:30am with no warning, and did not come back on until 10:45. 😖And, it was gray when it restarted. Especially inconvenient since checkout is at 11. Thankfully there was bottled water in the room. 😒

Just went for a swim in the Tropicana pool for the first time. As a local its nice to have a couple of places that welcome you for a free swim, and the Tropicana invites locals to do just that. It was Cold, clean and we loved it. Lots of green grass surrounding the area with some Low volume music playing. 80's music was the groove we had today, could've been louder and i'm over 50. Plenty of seating, but it did start to fill up around 2pm. Still , LOTS of green grass. Food and drinks are served, towels are offered also. Kid friendly if you'd like to bring the little ones for a swim.

It's been a long time since I've stayed at the Trop and they've redone the rooms since then. Quick easy check in, good locale. I'm so glad they've kept the stained glass canopy over the casino floor. One of the last little parts of Old Vegas that I'm always happy to see.

This casino used to have free parking and now the minimum is $5. I walked in to use the bathrooms on the main floor, my first attempt at getting a stall, there wasn't a latch. The 2nd attempt had no toilet paper. The third attempt was a stall that was decent. Some trash on the floor but it was fine. The casino itself is huge and clean. Very nice decor on the inside. It's nice to just walk around and stare in awe.

One of the best hotels on the strip! Even though it lacks updates, it gleamed in service. Rooms are clean and spacious for 4 people. You treat my wife, and family right and I am a happy man. Not our first visit to this hotel and definitely not our last.

Had so much fun the staff was top notch. Couldn't have had nicer experience. The late night front deck person really was a kind hearted guy extremely helpful. Beautiful pool and the prices were not bad considering we didn't have a reservation.

Decent location, with a pedestrian bridge to MGM or Excalibur to reach the strip. Rooms are spacious enough and clean. The pool area is nice but they only had half of it open when I was there. Unfortunately the property is in need of renovations and they are a bit understaffed, so drinks can be slow in the casino. I understand part of the property may be demolished for the baseball stadium and that’s really a shame. With a nice renovation this would be an amazing property.

I have only been here for 2 very good shows…The Prince Review and MJ Live, so my experience is based solely on parking a car and walking through the casino and going to the theatre. First off this old girl had her day. The white exterior and that neon colored Tropicana sign are iconic. The employees that I interacted with were very nice and helpful, but beyond that, this place is on life support! I am aware that they plan on demolishing this property to make room for a new baseball stadium, so maybe that would explain why all maintenance and cleaning has ceased. Everything is dirty and run down. I couldn’t imagine renting a room here, even if it was free. Hopefully the 2 entertainers I mentioned earlier will find new homes pretty soon.

  • 4/5 Mark L. 8 months ago on Google
Not as new or fancy as some other hotels on the strip, but clean, reasonable rates, and centrally located. It was quiet in my room and the bed was comfortable. The bar and front desk personnel were very nice. The coffee shop was ok and the hot breakfast sandwich was meh. I couldn't comment on the casino as I only walked through it.

  • 5/5 Emily H. 8 months ago on Google
We only went into this place for the Purple Reign experience. It wasn't what I thought it would be. We sat in the VIP section. It was decorated with red and black chairs and tables. The performance was alright. The lack of energy and all the burlesque dancing were what I didn't like. There were appropriate songs for that dancing style, but not as many as they did. Prince was always the show, and this man didn't or couldn't dance. It was okay. I wouldn't do it again.

We had two rooms for three nights and had no hot water. We had some small cleaning issues in the shower and a tv remote issue that we would have overlooked but no hot water is a huge issue. A hotel is for sleeping and bathing. The beds are nice but a cold shower in February is not great. At least if it was warm you could go down to the pool but not when it is already cold outside. Hotel only offered a 50 meal credit which would not fed three of us or 20 credit . They already charged us 285.90 in resort fees on top of what we paid for the room. Not sure what that is supposed to cover since the pool is closed and it’s winter. Would not complained if the water was even slightly warm enough to feel like you could get clean. I know they have a problem but it’s really their job to have hot water.
