Friendly welcome. Good food. It took a long time for the food to appear although the place wasn't that busy.

Can't find fault, good harvester meal, ultimate mixed grill, more than I could eat. If I had to be really picky the black pudding slices were wafer thin, but I failed to finish it all anyway. Steak tender, cooked as requested, gammon and chicken lovely and juicy, not overcooked and dry. Decent sausages, both eggs with runny yolks. Perfection.

Waiter was very polite & friendly. We ordered drinks plus a jug of water,we received our drinks but had to ask for the water. I had the rib eye steak but didn't go much on it, just dint taste the same as other places I've eaten.

Well we arrived at 12:55 for our table booking at 1pm. We made sure we were on time as we had received a text prior to arriving stating that if we were late we would lose our table. We were seated promptly and after a brief wait our drink order was taken and a little later the drinks arrived. We probably waited around 30 mins to place our food order and the server was polite and considerate. We unfortunately then in total had to wait over 3 and a half hours to receive our starters and main courses. Starters were very nice but unfortunately the presentation and standards let it down somewhat. The crackerjack prawns were served in white bowls, similar to school dinner bowls, whereas previously (some time ago granted) they were presented in a wicker steamer basket. My nachos came also in a white school bowl which made it look cheap and nasty. Main courses arrived, circa 2hrs, after order even though we had been assured they were being plated up 4 times previous. Again my food, although served on a rectangle blue plate, also had a school bowl of dirty fries placed apon it. Again this made it look very cheap. Also the corner of my plate had what looked like hardened gravy/sauce from previous days that had been baked on by numerous runs through the dishwasher. 1 of our guests had requested no BBQ sauce on their meal which was served as requested but instead the BBQ sauce had been smeared all on the underside of her plate probably done during the serving process. My parents second glasses of wine arrived also and to say the stains (we assume watermarks) all over the glasses and around the rims were clearly evident. So we reach the 3 hour timeline for our visit and we had not had our dessert order taken. We requested we just take the bill and our set menu 3 course meal could be adjusted in price to reflect only managing the 2 courses in the expired time. We were told by the manager that this was not possible and someone will be with us ASAP to take our dessert orders and we can take them away. We agreed. Finally 20 minutes later and still no desserts I approached the bar to ask to speak to the person in charge. The manageress was busy dealing with other customers so I was directed to her deputy who could not be more apologetic about everything. Half way through discussing the problems the manager arrives who opened with "do we know anyone who wants to be a head chef?" Not really seeing the comical side of the comment and the apathetic style in which she was responding to our issues a member of the team was sent to the kitchen to do our desserts. Completely shambolic in an attempt to run a restaurant. I will say and to clarify we were offered and accepted a couple of free starters and all our drinks deducted from the bill but that really was in response to the horrific experience we had had. We had gone out for my father's 70th birthday and made the booking a few months in advance due to it being Easter Sunday but unfortunately i believe we could of been the only table in the restaurant today and our experience would not have been any better. Arrived home with our takeaway desserts in black plastic tubs and clingfilmed and to be fair even the desserts were unedible and really the only.possible end we could of had to the traumatic experience we had.

Popped into the Harvester to meet friends. I had a dirty bird burger for £13.99 and the obligatory salad which the still serve you due to covid. It all tastes amazing, a little more expensive than I remember but I guess that it what's happening nowadays. Staff were friendly and helpful too.

It wouldn't have been my choice to go, but I was an invited party. However, there were plenty of tables for a walk in and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A pint to start. A peroni and a pale ale £11.50 (I nearly fell over!) The salad bar at a Harvester is always good to be fair, and I had a small dish, my companions filled theirs. We all started with DEEP fried breaded mushrooms with garlic dip (really nice) For my main I chose chilli non carne (vegetarian) I had 2 forkfulls and left it (wrong choice) Denise had chicken stack (she left the majority said it was dry) and Liz had roast half chicken (cleared her plate) all generously portioned Dessert Liz had vegetarian icecream with strawberry sauce. Both Denise and I had the Rocky horror browny sundaes (far too much browny) again generously portion There was difficulty in splitting our bill, because we all wanted to pay separately. Cheaply priced at under £20 a head for 3 courses. There was a steady flow of customers to be fair

Well what can I say. Under cooked chicken breasts and so much relish i could of given the table opposite some for their chips. Toilets stunk like piss alley down bridgend after smack heads had been there all night. Totally dissatisfied to the max. Offered a drink or a desert. Didn't except either had I already payed for the drink and i didn't get to even finish my meal so desert wasn't required. Sort that place out before you lose more custom . Ps your bread baps are hanging and ive seen more salad in a kebab than what I seem in your counter today.

Turned up did not book told that there were no table available for 40 min , walked outside booked a table for 3 minutes later on the app yes 3 minutes walked back in and got showed our table , ordered 1 original combo with jacket potato and 1 x 83 combo with double chips . Went for the salad bar no pasta no potato salad some pots were empty had to ask to replenish . No pasta or potato salad available . Then we were waiting on our food to be told there were no jacket potato's available or gravy . This is a regular accuracy. My chips came I had roughly 15 to 20 chips that were stale and cold . The wife's chicken was the size of a sparows wing . Total bill was 49.78 yes we did have drink . We are the Not the type to complain we will not be coming back to that Harvester . You need to do better .

Our server was Tasha she was amazing, so nice and friendly. The food was amazing apart from the salad bread was very, very dry and the other lady brought our drinks but we had to send one back as it didn’t taste like Pepsi Max. Tasha’s the best though, say thank you from me 😃

Double dirty combo - everything you could ask for and more, couldn't fault the service, the food. Really enjoyed this meal and went down a treat

It was a pretty awful experience. The service was extremely slow, the restraint not entirely clean, about 90%of the menu was unavailable (for 4 people ordering starters and mains only 2 items we originally wanted were available). The salad bar was extremely underprepared and empty and the bread stale. Most of the food was gristly and undercooked and inedible. Once we finally had all our food and had finished it took 40 minutes from when we asked for the bill to be brought to finally paying. We were celebrating a birthday and honestly it was a complete disaster.

Visited the sarn harvester on 15/9/23 with my two children for an evening meal. On arrival waited ten minutes by door before we were seen. I asked if the kids eat for £1 deal was on as it said on the website however the individual who showed us to our table didn't know. When seated we waited 10 mi Ute's before the waitress came to the table. My children ordered their food and then I ordered only to be told that the combo was not available. I then asked for half a chicken and again told not available, I think chose a third choice with sage chips again told not available. The waitress was very embarrassed and I felt sorry for her. After this terrible start to our visit we decided to leave and as we left i spoke to the manager on duty who basically told me that she was sorry but as she turned in for her shift has been a nightmare with number of meals unavailable. Salad bar was empty, lack of staff, dirty tables and overall shocking how this brand is able to function. My kids were gutted as the trip was a treat for a great week in school. Shocking!

An amazing meal, good quality and lots of flavour. We had a really friendly and helpful server who ensured we were looked after and had all we needed. Thank you Charlotte you made our meal very enjoyable. We will be back soon.

The service at reception was a bit slow but we were early so weren't too bothered by the wait even though the queue behind us was getting quite long. Table service was prompt and attentive. The restaurant felt a little cold. We both ordered the Barbeque meal which was delicious but had suffered by losing its heat very quickly. Would have liked a hotter meal!

After a 20 minute waite. The food arrived and the chips were cold so they had to be replaced. The meat was dry and an all-around terrible meal. The tomato on the side was burnt and black. We won't be going here again. At least they took the price of the 2 combo meals off the bill, which we hardly ate.

  • 3/5 Giles B. 5 months ago on Google
Burger is decent enough but overpriced and I paid for an upgrade to the first fries and they were quite embarrassing. A small bowl of chips with a tiny bottom sauce does not make dirty Fries. I wouldn't go here expecting much for the amount of money you pay.

Second visit to a harvester within a week! This time for lunch after a visit to McArthurGlen. The lunch was nice with lots to offer on a lunch menu. We had the two course set menu and opted for the scampi which was lovely. Overall a good lunch and we had a good time. Staff was nice and services was great. Will definitely visit again if I’m back in the area. Recommended

Over the years I have visited many Harvesters but this has to be one of the best. I want to draw attention to Courtney our waitress. She had such beautiful manners and was so friendly and polite as was the young lady who showed us to our seats. Service is important and they have it exactly right. The balance between attentiveness and privacy is perfect. There were smiles and genuine warmth off everyone. The food is delicious, I don't remember the last time I brought leftovers home because it was so good and the value for money is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the restaurant to anyone..

Decided to call in on our way back home from the beach. We booked to make sure there was availability as a table of 6, We had a very pleasant visit and our food was lovely! The salad bar was a little empty when we first arrived but it was busy at the restaurant and this was very quickly restocked! Food came out really quick too and everyone enjoyed

Went for breakfast, shockingly bad! All of the food was cold, the toast wasn't toasted, the poached eggs were terrible (see pic), and had shell in them. The unlimited coffee consisted of 1 cup of coffee. I felt bad for the waitress who had to serve that food, she knew it was terrible because she didn't come around to ask how the food is, and they always ask that. Had no choice but to eat it as we had a busy day ahead and no time to go anywhere else, otherwise would have walked straight out after being given the food.

We were served by Charlotte this morning . Charlotte's impeccable timing along with her overall presence and introduction at the table was to an impressive standard. Charlotte was very informative of the choices and range of menu which in itself is a credit to her team at this Harvester (and I've visited many ) this is by far the best example of how customer service should be conducted across the board . Thank you for making our morning a pleasant one . Food itself was not up to par compared to other Harvesters however when you have great customer service it does remedy it .

We attended Harvester today which was relatively quiet, which we thought would be a good thing as we could have a bite to eat without a huge wait. We were seated in an area, alongside another four sets of customers. Myself and my partner sat for around 25 minutes without being served, whilst other tables who were seated roughly around the same time as us or after us were ordering their drinks, food and receiving their salad bowls. After 25 minutes we were fed up and managed to grab the attention of the front of house or manager, dressed in a black shirt, who then came and received our drink orders, with what I must say was attitude. We then waited another 10 minutes, so in total over 30 minutes for a waiter to come and serve us, again the restaurant was relatively quiet, so the wait time to even order should not have been this slow. We then ordered our food, two chicken burgers and received our salad bowls. At this point our drinks still had not arrived. The salad bar was very, very poor. There was nothing that was full, a lot of the selection was empty. We were informed that a chef would be out shortly to top everything up, which had myself and other customers picking at the scraps and then waiting for mostly everything to be filled. For a restaurant who prides themselves of a free salad bar with their meal, I could not believe how poor this was. Myself and others then waited around 10/15 minutes for everything to be topped up. After eating our salad, we then waited around 40 minutes for our mains, others who were sat after us and at the same time as us had received their meals and had eaten by the time our mains had arrived at our table. Now I understand if we had ordered a lot but all we had ordered was two chicken burgers and a side of garlic bread. The garlic bread was just a baked piece of bread with garlic butter on the crust, very tasteless. During all of this a number of tables were left empty, with used plates sat there for a long period of time before anyone came to tidy these away. We then managed to grab the attention of a different waitress who had served us and requested the bill and a take away container, as due to waiting for so long I had passed the point of wanting food and decided that I would prefer to take this home. The waitress then left whilst I was getting the blue light voucher code up on my phone and then returned, which I assumed she would with the container, which she did not. At this moment I was ridiculously fed up and just wanted to leave. We paid for our meal and then had to remind the server about the container, this is not something I would usually be petty about but as I have stated, I was fed up of the shocking service that we have received and I felt no point in discussing this with the staff further as I just felt that they had no time at all for their customers. Myself and my partner have enjoyed going to harvester many times before and due to us not going for such a long time, with working and other family commitments, we felt that it would be a perfect date to go. Now we wish we didn’t bother! A huge disappointment.

Your staff were pleasant and welcoming. Unfortunately not made aware of items not available on menu. My husband and I had to choose twice. The food arrived promptly but 2 out of the 4 meals were cold. And, I mean very cold! The waitress took them back and replaced them, quite quickly. No discount was offered, although we didn’t ask for one. I certainly won’t rush to return to a Harvester.

Overall, lovely staff, food tasted great. The only reason for 4/5 rather than 5/5 was the staff seemed a little short handed, so the salad bar was slow on being refilled, same with the bread, or the plates. I don't think the staff could've done any more, they were pleasant, polite, and non-stop. The only thing that would have really tipped the scale would have been the staff having an extra pair of hands or two to help smooth running. There was a manager on site, and working on a managers zoom meeting from what I could tell, and I think that had that been able to be waylaid in favour of service the staff would have fared much better. I'm not downgrading my opinion of the place at all, we wanted a cheap tasty lunch and the lunchtime menu deals really did the trick- we all had burgers, and they were all excellent. Recommend this particular Harvester, in spite of the low staffing challenges the staff were great. Food was really thoroughly enjoyable.

Waited over one hour for food, although once served, it was edible. The waiter was good at his job, and the other staff just provided a service and looked gloomy. Outside, the building was shabby with leaking gutters. We only went there as it was next door to the Premier Inn, and we were tired after a long journey. Did not eat or drink there for the rest of our entire stay. Would not recommend this place to any one.

We were greeted by Sue and served by Jerry. Service was fantastic. Comedy gold! Good was presented well and tasted nice on the pallet. Steak was undercooked to how I would usually have it. That said we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thank you. Mr Karen

Fab night out , lovely customer service. Martha our server was so lovely and helped us massively, she went out her way to get us more bread rolls for the table. Sean the chef of the day cooked the food fabulously. Everything was cooked to perfect. Met all the requirements for the people in the party. Would highly recommend you coming here if your looking for excellent customer service and stunning food.

At harvester in Bridgend and I swear slugs are quicker serving food than the staff here, waited a hour for dinner and half hour for dessert, didn’t think it was difficult scooping ice cream from a tub. It wasn’t even busy either it took them a long while to ask us our order we may as well arrived yesterday. Food was nice though.

Visited today (mid afternoon) as a walk in with out reservation. Restaurant was quiet with a lot of empty tables at this time. Waited at reception desk to be seated but no one came. After 5 minutes or so there were also people queuing behind us. I went to other side of restaurant to find a staff member. She said that person on reception must be serving. She then followed me back to desk and said reception staff serving behind bar and would be with us in 10 minutes. She then came back a minute later and booked us in. She seemed a bit disgruntled at having to do this. However our waitress Nicole was lovely and served us quickly. Food came out promptly and was all freshly cooked. Food was of excellent standard - was just a shame about the reception when we arrived otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Booked a table here at short notice for fathers day lunch and am overwhelmed at how accommodating the staff were. Friendly and polite despite being rushed off their feet. Great customer service matched by great food. Thanks for making this a great father's day experience.

The service was fantastic. The member of staff that served us was so friendly and talked to my daughter about school and stuff. My meal could have been better. I was expecting a nice plump roasted chicken breast. Instead I got a flat grilled piece of meat that tasted like processed chicken. The steak also was mostly gristle although it was cooked to perfection. The quality of the meat could be a lot better. My daughter on the other hand loved her burger and chips. She stuffed her face. The Rocky Horror we had was delicious. They added an extra cherry for us as we shared the dessert and my daughter had (quote) “the best hot chocolate I’ve had in ages”. Over all we had a good meal and left with full bellies and feeling happy.

The food was gorgeous as always, but the server excelled. She was polite, friendly and efficient, her area was quite busy but she made us feel we were all important, she did this while training a new member of staff! She also helped my daughter sign into an app for work. Wish I remembered her name! But well done, you were great. Thank you for making us feel the way you did.

My wife and I popped in here for lunch today prior to our cinema visit. The staff are very friendly and the Service was brilliant. Did not have to wait long for our food at all. When the food arrived it was very high quality and we couldn’t find any fault with it at all.The salad bar is also nice and fresh and a lot better than it was three years ago when we last went there. Will definitely start going to this particular harvester again. I had the plant-based burger and chips which was a lot nicer than the McDonald’s plant-based burger I had a few weeks ago. Much better quality. My wife had the chicken stack with chips and she thoroughly enjoyed that too.
