Best chippy in Porthcawl by far. If you're down that way check it out. Been going there for years, still top of range! Clean and tidy place with friendly staff and super fast service. Can't fault it!

Our meal was delicious, I had haddock and my Partner had cod lovely batter and the fish was tasty. The chips were lovely, you can have a glass of wine if you wish or soft drink, tea in a pot, or Coffee. It is comfortable and cosy in the restaurant and spotlessly clean The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Humiliating experience when I asked to use their toilets whilst queuing for the takeaway. Apparently only customers eating in are allowed to use them. Left feeling upset and embarrassed after a waitress confronted me in front of many other customers. I have been a customer at Beales for many years, but unfortunately will not be returning. There are plenty of other more friendly and tasty fish and chip places nearby.

Went here last Sat (12/08/23),with my wife, daughter and her partner. I didn't eat but the other 3 did. Food looked OK but it was a bit pricey. We ate in so maybe the take away part downstairs may have been cheaper?

Popped here with the family today. The fish was absolutely delicious but would have preferred the chips to have been cook a little longer. Staff were great and everything fairly priced

Really FANTASTIC fish and chips here I don't ever remember enjoying fish and chips so much, definitely up there with the best ever..Would 100% recommend a visit to Beales when you come to Porthcawl. Little tip, try to get a table inside the restaurant as opposed to near the front door as the door doesn't shut properly and it's not so pleasant if it's cold outside. The staff kindly moved us to a warmer table which we were very grateful for. Very, very tasty fish and the most perfect batter ever. Can't wait to eat there again!

We are from Birmingham on holiday in porthcawl, I saw this place as I was driving past. We decided to give it a try, I can honestly say it was the best piece of fish I've tried in wales. Thank you so much we will definitely be coming back

The fish and chips at Beale's are likely the best in Porthcawl. The choice of fish is great, and the preparation time for take out is excellent. The service is okay. I've worked in the service industry (still do to an extent), and upon returning to the car, I shared my opinion to my wife: "the staff look like they'd been slapped by a wet fish" A smile goes a long way, and the serving staff, while I'm sure are lovely people, looked like automatons and didn't exactly provide that "service with a smile" which helps to brighten everyone's day. Still, can't question the taste of the dishes here, that's why I keep going back! Edit: well, the staff were a bit more smiley, despite the huge queue trailing outside the shop. The fish appeared smaller than my last visit. It is summer season now, so smaller fish pieces last longer for the increased number of customers.

Great food, freshly cooked, and plenty of portions! Loved their Irish curry sauce. It was very busy which tell you it's a great place to eat. They had a restaurant part too and busy.

Absolutely gorgeous fish and chips. Chips were fresh and thick. The fish was amazing. Lovely thick cod and very good, well cooked batter. Only improvement would be home made tartar or creamy tartar in a pot rather than sachets. Thanks guys.

The place was very tranquil and clean. Service was spot on. Food came quick and hot. Pricing was very reasonable. What else can one hope for? Thoroughly pleasant experience by the seaside. We always bring our guests here after a nice long walk by the beach. This time all the way from Turkey/Gelibolu. They loved the food and experience.

Quite possibly the best fish & chip shop in the area. Lovely crispy batter with good sized food portions. Always get a delicious meal from Beales

Fish and chips perfection. Staff friendly. Clean and tidy. Quite busy on Saturday, food served quickly and correctly. Shame no one came to check if everything was OK, kids had finished drinks so had to get up to order more. Needs more toilets. Other than that, recommended.

Had cod and chips and plaice and chips. Both fish cooked while I waited. Lovely fish, nice crispy batter, good chips and good portion size. Best fish and chips I've had for a long time.

Had a takeaway fish and chips last night. Lately thought it’s not been up to its usual High standard. But last night was superb back to the best in Porthcawl. Tell summer’s arrived portions down s little.

This is our go to chippy in Porthcawl. Never disappoints. Although on this occasion they didn't have my favourite Haddock but the Cod was lovely and white and the best batter around.

Fresh fish and chips with amazing taste, I have tasted many fish and chips, but this place by far is the best. I travel 10 miles to just eat fish and chips.. the portions are big the fish is cooked perfectly..

Lovely fish (haddock) and chips. We ate in and the lady serving was very nice but it was hard to order more drinks. We were sat by the door and froze every time it opened (couldn't move as it was very busy). It was rather pricey for a chippy.

Stunning food Really pleasant environment Really pleasant staff Not overpriced for the quality you're eating

Nice fish and chips but nothing special. Clinical feel to the eating area. It felt like they were rushing us and like they couldn't wait to get you us out of there to get the next customers in. No atmosphere and we have now found that the portions, food and friendly staff are much better and nicer at the lovely Mansel's across the road.

Great fish and chip shop very clean staff friendly and attentive, we ate in my haddock and chips was excellent batter perfect very thin and crispy. My wife had faggots peas and chips the faggots were homemade or quality butchers the mushy peas were excellent. Thank you this will definitely be our go to chip shop when we are in porthcawl πŸ‘Œ

Certainly our go to Fish & Chips when in Porthcawl with a great classic look to the restaurant and great service. We have been coming here for decades when we are in the area, whether that is holidaying as kids or holidaying with our own kids. The restaurant has a very traditional feel to it as you enter and the staff are very friendly and helpful as they escort you to a table and give you your menu's. There are fewer and fewer table service places like this these days, so it feels nice. Food is always top notch with the fish being hot, fresh and moist and the chips having a nice crisp to them with soft fluffy middle, always a treat. Well worth a drop in if you are nearby, you will not regret it.
