Lovely beach any time of the year. Easy to park if you wish. Also easy walk from Porthcawl prom if you prefer. Great for walking dogs all year round. Plenty of space and the Wales Coastal Path run along here just off the beach though Newton Burrows.

Great dog friendly beach all year round from edge of Trecco Bay holiday park to Merthyr Mar. Not the best for swimming, the best sandy bits are by the rocks when the tide is out.

Honestlyโ€ฆ. Our family holiday completely ruined day 1 by a nasty dog walker. Whom let her dogs all over our picnic food/blankets jumping around the kids. They werenโ€™t dangerous, just excitable. The owner is to blame. Instead of apologising and carrying onโ€ฆ. No she stood there on our stuff and decided to go down the foreigner route and remind us all we werenโ€™t welcome. This was a dog walking beach and to leave. Well we didnโ€™t. After the kids stop crying we carried on. The beach is lovely, stoney in places but picturesque. Yes seems a good place for dog walkersโ€ฆ but we did see families sat down enjoying some time in the sun. Could be one local person who has a problem with families on holiday. But Iโ€™ll take the traffic in Cornwall next timeโ€ฆ

In my top five beaches in Wales. It never disappoints it has lovely sandy beach, rocky outcrop with rock pools, plenty of space even if it gets busy for family fun, huge area back of East part of a beach has grassed sand dunes, barbecue's jet skiing if your lucky to own one. Most important of all it's always clean no rubbish or sea debre, and it's dog friendly and have never seen discarded dog poo on beach.

Great place for a stroll with the dog. Not a very big car park and it is cash only. Bit choppy for swimming but there were some wind surfers enjoying the big waves. Shame about the amount of litter all along the beach which spoilt it a bit. Also the tide comes in very quickly so be aware that you could get trapped the wrong side of the rocks if you're not careful.

Long beach, even on hot days you can find places without people. Sadly, quite a bit of those tubeworms so some areas are hard to walk through

Easy accessible from the car park, Dunes back onto the beach that stretches around the bay, Soft sand and rock pools at low tide, plenty of seclusion to let the dogs run free or the kids paddle. ๐Ÿ…ฟ ยฃ2 couple of hours ยฃ4 the day, Worth every penny sparkling Welsh gem.

Best place to offload kids and dogs. Note to all, the there are no toilets, no refreshments and no lifeguard. It's a pebble/rock/sandy beach, with clay and sand mixture nearer the rocks. So expect a cold spa treatment. Ice cream van only stayed til 2pm. But its quiet.

Lovely beach for a walk with the dogs as dog friendly beach great calm. Every now and then in the summer you can witness amazing bioluminescent plankton in dark nights

Beach Close to Porthcawl. Payable car park adjacent to beach (pay via machine when parked). Very uneven car park surface. Main beach access is near car park entrance with ramp down to beach which has a lot of hard sand when tide is not high. Small soft sand area near base of slope. Dogs allowed.

This is a lovely beach and it's dog friendly all year. It's great for people who like to go crabbing, build sand castle, sit and relax or even surfing.

Great place to go for a walk with the family. Both the kids and the dog loves the sand dunes. Also there used to be a military camp here up until the 1950's with parts of the old shooting ranges still there, quite easy to find old bullets etc in the sand dunes behind the concrete structure. The only down side is you have to pay to park the car and there is not much roadside parking.

nice dog-friendly beach - found a surprising amount of sea glass and sea pottery !! keep walking past all the sandy areas towards the tiny pebble areas and you will find lots :)

Fantastic beach, shame about the council carpark zero services but wants to charge a fortune to park on our own land. Great beach for dogs and walks. Access is pretty easy. Brilliant for swimming.

I think it was just a bad day when I went but it definitely gave me the UK beach experience, itโ€™s like the first episode of a series of unfortunate events. It was foggy wet and you couldnโ€™t really see the beach however it was nice nonetheless, it was mysterious and alluring. But definitely not summer vibes. But there are lots of ice cream trucks and snack stops must try at least one ice cream truck for the experience.

Great little beach to have a stroll with your dog. As the main beach does not allow dogs to go on. I will return to to go in the sea on my trip down trecco.

Part sand part stone and a narrow stretch of beach with sand dunes on the other side. Great for paddle boarding but too narrow to power kite, although you can walk a 10 minute distance away from the crowd and get a smaller kite up safely, on a less crowded day.

Nice beach. Suitable for all ages. However no tap-water available for washing up after. However, long grass track could be used for basic cleaning.

Perfect for families or a dog walk. No facilities except an expensive ice cream van. But the sea is a very shallow drop and there are plenty of rocks and rock pools to play in

Great quiet beach. Rockpools, soft sand but few facilities.

Probably the best beach Porthcawl has to offer due to its sheer size and beautiful bay scenery. This is the beach that I've spent the most time at, offering a quieter and nicer experience with clearer waters than that of Sandy Bay.

Great for the dogs and a bimble to Ogmore and back. A cuppa and sausage sandwich in the day van. Always plenty of room for the dogs to run.

Our two little Jack Russells thought all their Christmasโ€™s had come at once, spacious quiet beach & perfect for dogs. Even got an ice cream. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Wide sandy beach that is rocky in some places. Car park right next to the beach is a bonus (costs ยฃ6 all day). Easy to access. Beach was fairly busy because there is a huge holiday home park that links to the beach. There are no shops at the beach.

A nice beach, it's a little rocky in places so be mindful where your putting your feet, what more is there to say.

Does get busy for parking but the beach is great for dogs. Miles long and still walkable at high tide.

It is not the most picturesque beach in Wales, but it is very nice. Firstly it is huge, so it never feels crowded, even when it is and I can't relax when the beach is busy. There's always plenty of space, ideal for setting up volleyball net and play.

There's always plenty of space, ideal for setting up volleyball net and play, which we always do. Secondly, only 40 minutes drive from Cardiff/Cearphilly area. Some people may not like the fact that it is open for dog walking and there aren't any toilets or shops (just a little ice-cream van) but I am not bothered.

๐Ÿ‘ Place of contrasts, with the older more traditional end (looking clean and tidy) and at the Eastern end the funfair and pubs and burger bars etc. Make your choice or do both. Sandy beaches at the sides and rocky outlook in the centre.
