Don't like having meal served in chipped enamel dog bowls!!. And the chicken was so tough couldn't be eaten! Much preferred the old menu and staff. Won't be going again, which is a pity as we always enjoyed our meals there.

I ordered the hunters baguette, and it was alright although I'd say it was more of a Sub roll, and it was rather burnt too. After we had ordered our food, it was a shame to later find out that they had a steak deal for £12! We didn't have a menu advertising this on our table, unfortunately, so we could have definitely saved on drinks, which seemed more expensive than the food. I was pleased though to see a fresh Lemon in my coke! Lovely and refreshing.

After being invited to try the new menu at The Cherry Laurel I arrived to the pub on a Friday evening. The soft florals, dark woods and soothing colours of the pub combined with cosy fireplaces invited you to sit and enjoy. A rainy Friday evening sat by the window in the warmth was the perfect way to enjoy hot and hearty food. We choose the sticky BBQ wings and ribs to start along with the MOZZARELLA AND CROXTON MANOR CHEDDAR BITES which were delish. Smokey, melty and an awesome cheese-pull (see my reel which I'll post later). For mains, we mixed and matched THE ULTIMATE SPICY BEEF BURGER (Two 3oz beef burgers and an American style cheese slice, topped with spicy pulled pork, crispy bacon and jalapeños. Finished with cheese sauce and crispy onions in a seeded bun) with SURF & TURF (An 8oz aged rump steak with wholetails of golden Whitby scampi. Served with tartare sauce.) Which I asked for rare and rare it was, a gorgeous dark red inside but warm to the touch and just crisped on the outside. Served with crispy onion rings - ASMR fantasies galore and my teeth met the tempura batter crust. I also stole some of my fiancé's burger of course which had a fat layer of smokey, spicy pulled pork, that plastic American cheese we all secretly adore and lots of jalapeños. And then the hit the desserts hard with a Rocky Road Sundae and warm Chocolate Fudge Cake served with ice-cream. There's nothing quite like watching vanilla ice cream melt and pool around warm chocolate cake- it's like a little work of art. The hospitality was great, the servers were so attentive, kind and made me laugh a few times.

My brother and I are truck drivers and stopped by for the night for food and a few drinks. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff were very friendly. I believe the drink prices to be quite expensive, however the 2for1 on main meals for the food is actually quite reasonable. Despite this it's a nice place to go out and socialise with people therefore I will return.

Service was okay and staff friendly. Reasonable price. The food was fairly standard, chicken was a bit dry and food looked microwaved. Not the best I have had but filled a gap

On first visit we recieved food plates 🍽 with expired food label attached to plate. 🏷 and supervisor apologised and changed the food, on second visit recieved drink in dirty glass with lipstick 💄 marks and we asked to be changed, today 13,March we was surveing food and customer service on site and been ignored in arrival at booking desk at front of the door despite been seen with staff and supervisor. So informed staff behind the bar regarding purpose of visit and asked for supervisor which was ignored . This place over all mark dropped again from 8 to 6 and now to 3 star. 🌟

Very disappointed with the hunters chicken. The chicken was chewy, no onion rings, served on a large plate with very little food. Will not be returning for a quite some time which is a shame as thr servers were great, the place was clean and tidy and the atmosphere was positive.

Super gezellige inrichting, bovengemiddeld kwalitatief eten... en vriendelijk personeel. Wat zou je nog meer kunnen wensen voor een plek om te lunchen? Thanks to John and Vickie we had a very VERY enjoyable lunch. The place is looking very well kept, clean and inviting. Our food was very well cooked and the portions where big enough.. There could have been a little bit more tea in the teapot.. my second cup only was halffull. But thats really the only "bad" thing I can come up with. All in all.. would eat here again next time around!!

Had a lovely relaxed meal, one of the best Hunters Chicken I've had in a long time, followed by a sticky toffee pudding, being Gluten free it was nice to have a dessert. Will go again.

We were greeted with a smile and taken to our table. The lady explained the procedure as to how to order and if we could kindly fill out a questionnaire at the end of the meal. My partner ordered the food from the bar and was asked if we wanted to add sides, which we did. Food arrived between 30 - 40 minutes but we didn't mind as we could see that the restaurant was full. Food arrived piping hot and tasted delicious. We were not approached by a member of the team to check everything was ok but to be honest, I am glad as I just like to get on with my meal and chatting to my partner. When we left we were thanked on a number of occasions and the staff were extremely smiley - this is great as smiling is infectious and added to the lovely experience we already received. We will definitely revisit The Cherry Laurel for both food and drinks.

Friendly staff and amazing tasting food. I highly recommend this pub. Louise our server was extremely friendly and the bar staff (I didn't catch their names) were lovely people. The food tasted amazing (I highly recommend the ultimate southern fried chicken burger) it was absolutely stunning and the side sauce was amazing. The kids had a great time playing in the park outside and the adults had a brilliant time playing on the dart board inside. Forgot to take pics of our main meals but did mange to get some of our desserts

What a lovely pre Christmas treat. The food was delicious and hot! The sticky toffee dessert was superb. Even my dog had a blast sneaking some turkey under the table. The staff (Louise especially) were so welcoming and catered to our every need. Will be going back after Christmas 👍🏼

Food was quick and hot and tasted nice, it was very busy, but still good service. One waitress dropped chips when delivering the food and didn't collect even though she knew she had done it! That would have made it better.

New management and it shows!! We've always been regulars but we stopped whilst it changed hands. My sister visited and said it was new management and much better so we gave it another go. It was lovely. Food was perfect, exactly how we requested it, very good quality and good prices. One waitress was abrupt but the other staff and new manager more than made up for that. Clean, tidy and the lovely "old" atmosphere is back. Hats off to the new manager because he has turned it around within a few days looking forward to becoming regulars again.

Had a lovely experience at the pub. We were informed about a limited menu on our arrival and limited staff in the kitchen. This was not an issue as we were ordering a turkey dinner. The waitress informed us there were be a 10 minute wait. After that ten minutes had passed and our food was brought out. We had dessert and was pleasantly surprised with how cheap it all was.

Lovely, spacious, clean and the front of house staff were really lovely. Service was quick although it was fairly empty for a lunch time. Food quality was absolutely fine, no complaints and the value was decent. Pub lunch and a soft drink for a tenner. That's ok! 👍

My gammon steak (5oz as part of the mixed grill) was lovely and tender. My father's (10oz platter) was tough and chewy. waitress and other staff very pleasant but waitress didn't know which bitters were available - not sure if she knew what a bitter is. Good value. Our little dog was made very welcome - thank you.

We regularly go for meals here as the food is reasonably priced, tidy sized portions, and with a good choice on the menu.We also take the dog occasionally during the summer.Never had a bad meal. My only complaint is all the burger meals have sesame seeded buns with no brioche option. Not good if you are allergic to sesame seeds which a lot of people like myself are. Good place for elderly/disabled people, as no steps.Nice big carpark too.

A great visit friendly staff and even though the food order was a little incorrect they sorted it with no issues and gave refund making our experience great, food was hot, plentiful and was served very quickly. We love coming here as the staff are so friendly and helpful and it's a big place for all the family to meet up

I honestly could believe that it is £2.05 for a dash of lime. £2.05!! actually unbelievable. We had fish and chips that come burnt. Hunter chicken was like rubber, the salad on the hunters chicken is old and weathered as you can see by the photo attached. Never will I come here again TERRIBLE.

Never again paid £68 for 3 adult meals and a child's meal a pint of dark fruits a lemonade a j20 and a squash me and my partner took our two children one had a child's meal and one had a adults meal he wanted a BBQ chicken bagettee but they didn't have any baggetts and mime aan m partner had a mix grill on the buy one get one free, first thing I had to ask for my child's j20 which we never received then the sauce came 10 mins after we received our meal then we both realised there was no chicken on our mix grill so had to ask for it, I asked for my steak to be done rare and it came med to well done my partner wanted his med and it came well done and very chewy , my son's hunters chicken meal was shocking for £18 odd his chicken was way over cooked and he struggled to eat it and there was not much sauce on it we we complained about the chicken missing we didn't get any apology they just came and put it on the table and we could tell it was microwaved so was my son's hunters chicken

Food was great, service was friendly really enjoyed our visit. Prices were a little high as it felt like a hungry horse, however the quality in food was much higher. Would definitely come again in the cheaper days

I booked a table of 50 for a private party. Staff were extremely helpful from the booking experience to the day itself. They were helpful and could not do enough for us. The food was brought out with no hesitation and was thoroughly cooked and brought out in superb time too. Highly recommended A*****

From the time of our arrival the staff were friendly and very welcoming. The new deco is amazing and gives the venue a lot more light . The new add ons to the menu gives more choice which is always good. The presentation of the food was amazing and the taste was excellent. The staff behind bar and waitresses were extremely helpful . Myself and my family are regulars at The Cherry Laurel and we wish you every success.

Food was lovely, young lady who brought our food was lovely (I think she was new because she said she was learning the table numbers). I waited a long time to orser dessert, waiting in the queue and a dog urinated on the floor beside me and no one rushed to clean it up. Then three guys walked in and the lady ignored me and served them first like I was invisible.
