Enjoyed a 'nice' meal with friendly service - been some time since our last visit. With a little polish, could be so much better. The cooking lacks flair and things like chips were a little greasy. Battered cod had too much thick & heavy batter although the fish inside was OK. My venison steak was nice but lacked seasoning and flavour. The truffle promised in the gratin was very muted. Lemon tart should be singing with bright lemon but again was bland. A good venue for a family meal or with children. comfortable and friendly.

September 2023 Still 5 stars! June 2023 Oh I think I found my new favourite place!! Plenty of parking, easy to access for wheelchair/rollator users with fully accessible toilets. Food outstanding and beautifully presented. Staff really chill and friendly. Varied menu from set menu to al a carte. Spotless inside with nice decor. You can ask to sit in "the carriage " which are booth seats for up to 4 in the train carriage which is part of the restaurant. For those into trains Google the history! I mentioned 2 specific disabilities on the booking and they catered beautifully. Will definitely be back. Starter complimentary bread with the sun-dried tomatoe butter was outstanding and unexpected on warm chunky bread. Recommend booking essential. Deposit required for 6 or more.

What a lovely surprise.. good tasty gourmet food at reasonable prices to suit all purses/wallets Lovely atmosphere friendly attentive staff ..service was excellent especially the manager Lillo .and the train booths over looking the river were really amazing and added to this lovely surprise find… I would definitely recommend junction 28… enjoy ☺️ P.S…We chose to choose 2 courses from the set menu

First time visit for us. A little pricey but the food was awesome! The trio of lamb was extremely tasty. The skin on the Sea bass could have been a little crisper. Mixed grill was great value.

Wife wanted to go out for lunch at a nice place. Finally zeroed on junction 28. Well worth it. We were served very well. The food was exceptional

Nice restaurant tucked out of the way in Bassaleg behind a church. Nice setting. Decent menu and allergen choices. Not cheap. Very good service and attention.

Service was very quick, staff were amazing and food was fantastic. Highly recommended the creamy mash, the stick toffee pudding is the best I've had. If you're lucky enough to get the manager serving you expect some quirky jokes to keep you entertained. The group of ladies behind us even had him doing sheep sounds. It was my second visit there and I cannot fault anything.
