    Ive been going to vca since i got my dog :).... normally prices for his shots are around 350ish including exam in the Chicago area. Let me say my jaw dropped when i went here to get his annual shots and exam. The exact same shots as last year.... they were now stating it would be $788 dollars. I didnt get his annual shots there..... I only had them do the exam and his allergy shot. I scheduled an apt at the petco clinic...for the same shots,heartworm test and 6 months of heartguard... i paid $186. That saved me $600 !!!!! Im not saying the veternarian at vca was awful or the staff.. they seemed nice.... but the price difference is INSANE. By all means take your pet to the vet if they are sick or injured.... but for their shots.... you may want to consider another source like i did and save you some major cash.

She disregarded majority of my questions even saying you can look it up online when you get a chance I informed her I was driving so I couldn’t research the info at hand and still gave a very generic description of the issue. Thank God with no help to her my baby is just fine God is good all the time. BLACK LIVES MATTER!!!!!!

    WOW! Amazing staff at this location. They actually care about your pet , which for some reason is so hard to find at a vets office these days . The tech was so considerate of my dogs anxiety instead of dragging her to the back she actually sent the vet in the room to look at my dog . I can't even tell you the last time I physically got to see a vet do his job . What an amazing experience . Also took me in with no appointment even though they were booked . I will be coming here everytime .

    We are extremely happy with the quality of care our pup has received here. It starts with the friendly welcoming staff that greets you upon arrival. The medical staff is also extremely attentive and thorough. And as if this wasn’t wonderful enough. The groomers are amazing. His haircut was perfect all around. Great Place. We just moved to the area and are thrilled to have found this gem. Thank you all for the love you show all your patients.

    Front desk staff is so rude. The chubby lady with curly black hair that works there was extremely rude and impolite. I feel like as a front desk person it’s your job to greet people and be patient… she even rolled eyes on me. Please do better VCA! Hire patient people who actually like what they do.

    ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE! LAB ERROR COSTS US SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS - TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION BY MANAGER NAMED ALLISON! Must read before going here: My wife and I brought our 3 year old cat in to see Dr. Buela because he had been a little lethargic for a couple of days. This was his only symptom. We were never super worried that something could be seriously wrong. After doing a physical exam, Dr. Buela found nothing wrong with him. The following day Dr.Buela called us and informed us that our three year old cat was now in KIDNEY FAILURE! We rushed him to the animal hospital they told us to go to and we were absolutely distraught thinking our young cat was dying. After several hours at the animal hospital the doctor there called us and informed us that there was nothing wrong with our cats kidneys AT ALL. The doctor told us there is no way that this was not a LAB ERROR. A cat can not be in kidney failure one day and then totally fine the next. Dr. Buela also admitted it was a lab error. This mistake by VCA Central Park cost my wife and I THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. The manager told us she’d call us back two Fridays ago and never did. If you bring your animal here it could cost you a month of your salary and when you question them about it they will ignore you. BE WARNED!

    Spoke with a manager today the day after bad service. It seems they may make it right in a few days when they do I will give a new review. Update review: Everyone makes mistakes, and they tried to make it right, I can't ask for more than that. So, I changed rating to 3 instead of 1. I do not think this place would harm a dog and that it's perfectly fine to bring a dog here.

    I, personally, was not able to come here but my partner did. We had to take our dog into the vet as soon as possible and they were able to take us in the same day. According to my partner, they were all super helpful and kind. They gave us medication for our dog and she's already doing better. They even called us the next day to see how she was doing! How sweet! 10/10 recommend coming here, the customer service and attention to the animals is spectacular!

    I accompanied my friend K. Diaz (a military vet.),to see about his new puppy. Upon arrival I decided to wait outside. Subsequently, I realized a couple employees would rather stare at me (in broad daylight),than greet me. That was until the manager Zack,took the time to introduce himself outside of the actual business. Zack,was not only very professional but helpful as well. Personally, I found Zack,to be extremely "down to earth" . His professionalism, leadership and overall manners should be the prototype for all businesses in America. I hope he's truly rewarded for being the best!

    Don't take your pet at this Hospital. All they want is your money .There are very misleading when it come to the bill. So make sure they explain your bill if not you will be walking out with a big suprise.Stay away go to another vet

    I have been taking my pets here for over 10 years. Nala (RIP) Gizmo, Winnie and Georgie all love the techs and the doctors. We love Dr. Buela, she has been our preferred doctor for each pet and every visit for years. The staff went through some growing pains after COVID but they are back to operating as before. About 5 years ago my 6 year old pug was showing very weird signs that got brushed off at her first visit by a different doctor. We called again and asked for Dr. Buela, as soon as she saw our pug she knew that something was very wrong with her, after a few test she determined that our girl had a pinched nerve or even a spine injury. She referred us to a neurologist that specializes in canines in Miami, we fled to Miami and were able to admit her where they determined she indeed had a spinal injury and would need immediate surgery if we wanted her to not lose any mobility. Long story short, Dr. Buela saved our girl time and time again and without her we don’t know what would have happened. Dr. Buela is sweet, professional and very attentive answering any questions. She is great with our dogs, they love her. Thanks VCA for always helping our babies!

    I want to say thank you to Dr. Baumwell, the vet techs, the office manager Zachary, the front desk staff, and everyone else in the VCA Central Park team. Whenever something unexpected comes up and my pet needs an appointment, they are able to schedule him in usually that day. Every time my dog goes in he is greeted and treated well by everyone. We’ve seen Dr. Baumwell for years and always appreciated his great bedside manner!

    I'm actually for the first time disappointed by a VCA trip. Let me explain. When you first get there, they are incredibly kind. I got there a half hour early and was sent to a room where...I seemed to wait a half hour longer. Okay, no worry I was a half hour early fair. So when the vet tech came in she was really cool. Huge cat person, kinda knowledgeable to what I needed...until she started to write down a bunch of stuff on what I'd be charged with. I needed an exam and updated rabies shot. Okay, but they suddenly wanted to do a fecal test that I don't know what it was going to be for and her other shot needed to be updated, both of which i opted out of because why did I need the test? And she's an indoor cat so the other shot would have been not needed. I juat had it last time for flying sake. So after like 20 minutes of going back and forth on price I was given a hug shock by how much it would be. I expected to pay way less, especially since I called ahead for prices prior. I wasn't happy already, but when the actual vet came in I was even less happy. I feel like the whole visit was rushed and I didn't get the answers to some questions I had about my pet. Fuether more, it felt like each time I asked for something, EX "can you trim my cats paw pad hair" they tacked on a new charge or tried to deter me because I said I didn't have much. By the time we were done with what I INITIALLY came in for, none of the price I was given in the exam room is what I actually PAID. I expected at least a 100 dollar charge and ended up with more. Not just that but now that my pet is home, her bottom where they took temp is swollen and she keeps licking it so I'm afraid the temp may have been taken incorrectly. All in all this wasn't a good visit at all. 3 stars for the poor front staff who had to even figure out what my actual charges were.

    Had a 11:15 appointment for my 2 dogs, didn't get seen my technician till 12. Went in for shots and wellness exam which took 5 minutes. The waiting time was ridiculous. I understand if there are complications but 45 minutes before seeing anyone uncalled for. I'm done waiting so long just to be seen. I wonder what would happen if I was late for my appointment.

    I am a regular client of this vet hospital. I use Dr Baumwell mostly. As luck would have it I lost 2 kitty cats within the past 2 years. Very unexpected surprise I found out by accident that they had cats to adopt. Zach the Office Manager went above and beyond to see to it that I got a new kitty without putting out a huge expense since I just paid a few thousand for my cats that passed. Vanessa was also an emmence help to me. I am picking up my new furkid tomorrow and I can’t wait. I highly recommend this vet hospital and staff. Compassionate & Caring & Understanding. I love Dr Baumwell so prompt and straight forward!

    I cant say enough wonderful things about this vet. From their in person visits to the live chat feature that allows you to talk to someone 24 hours a day. The vets are kind and compassionate and my dog who is terrified of the vet is actually pretty excited to go inside. Cannot recommend them enough.

    During the past 21 years ,even before they were at their current address, Dr Baumwell and staff have helped me to keep my adorable cats healthy and beautiful. I have been so blessed to have found such wonderful and caring people. They are kind and professional.. They are the BEST!
