Simply spectacular! The food was amazing, the service was impeccable and thoughtful and the decor is timeless. Now for the food, the pastsa was so delicious and tasty. The creamy sauce was so flavourful with succulent chicken piece. Definitely a winner. Then the pozza was perfection, thin crispy base, delightful toppings and no shortness of toppings. Finally the dessert was mouth-watering .so deep in flavours but not overly rich. A chocolate lover's dream.

Visited Cafe Del Sol In HoneyDew Randburg. My partner and I had a chicken sesame stir-fry and stuffed calamari. The food was exquisite to say the least. Only down side was the decor of the place, it’s quite underwhelming and plain compared to other restaurants in the city. The Customer service was phenomenal, unlike anything I’ve experienced in Johannesburg. When you talk to the waiter it’s as though you are talking to the chef, well informed and impeccable with attention to detail. The desert was also breathtaking.

Lindani, our waiter did a fantastic job at keeping us very happy last night. Our starter was halumi with a balsamic dressing. My main was a delicious hand made tagliatelle pasta, napolitana sauce and calamari and prawn dish. Marcel had Cabonara with tagliatelle pasta and we shared a bottle of rosé. Such an AMAZING PLACE! My best friend and I went there for lunch and I would definitely go back in a heartbeat. The food was fantastic and our waiter was so kind and friendly. Squisito! The whole experience was perfect. From the booking to the last morsel. Just wow. The quotes on the walls are very inspiring, and one particular will always guide my path. This is how not to treat customers!!! Firstly, the one star is for our waiter, Graham, who was excellent. Other than that, it was very disappointing. The food was ok, but what really angered me was the manager/owner of the restaurant. We arrived, without a booking, and asked if she had tables available. She, with an attitude and reluctantly, showed us to one. I'm literally giving you business and just because I didn't make a booking you treat us like rubbish. She never once came to see how we were doing. Later we saw three ladies arrive and were taken to their table. They asked if they could move as it was under an aircon. The said manager was clearly annoyed. I then overheard her saying to the usher " they must either take it or go". This is absolutely revolting. You are absolutely unprofessional and do not deserve customers in your restaurant. I sincerely hope you either change your attitude or close your establishment, however you will never see us again nor all the people we've told.

What an Amazing restaurant!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautifully set on the top of the hill at the brand new shopping centre Blueberry Square in Honeydew with an incredible view of Sandton & Rosebank. The service from the Waiters is also Top notch and definitely trained very well! Then the FOOD !!! Oh my GOODNESS! !! I'm lost for the right words! It's just out of this world!!! You can tell that they make their food with so much love and care, from scratch and with nothing but the freshest produce you can get, no expense spared! No wonder they have been have won so many awards and still in business after 15 years! I'm sure that they have had to endure a very hard time in recent years! I'm so sorry to see such an amazing brand fall victim to the corruption of our ridiculously greedy government for something as simple as a Liquor License. I'm sure that having to fork out so much money to obtain that "Occasional Liquor License" on a weekly basis is not helpful and completely ridiculous! We are all hoping that their permanent licence comes through very soon 🙏 Well done to Café del Sol and all the staff for still making it feel like Mama's kitchen. 👏👏👏👏👏 Keep up the good food and service!!!

They've moved to a new, larger location with a bit of an echo when full. They have lost none of their quality. The food is simply sublime. If you're looking for authentic italian cooking, this is a good place to start. They make authentic Carbonara, start with that and you'll be coming back for more. The wine list has excellent selections to cater to most pockets and occasions.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. The food is Soo incredible. Service was impeccable. And amazing place for a date. Go here you won't be disappointed! Someone , I presume to be the owner or manager , was carefully inspecting all the food coming out of the kitchen and I did see her send some plates back to the chef's. This was brilliant to see one of the reasons that makes this place incredible.

Cafe del sol is a great find and well worth repeat visits. The atmosphere is great, seating good, view from the window seats good and the experience is worth it. The food is excellent and I can only recommend multiple visits in this regard so that you can work through the menu. The lack of a proper - printed - drinks menu is downright annoying as you inevitable end up forcing a waiter to recite the drinks selection to you multiple times while you make up your mind. The food menu is also somewhat on the large side which can make choosing a main a bit difficult. The experience across a 3 course meal is worth it and worth more than 1 visit. Service is overall good and not really lacking in any particular areas, especially when compared to other places in Johannesburg. I was disappointed however that despite my prior arranging a Happy Birthday message on the dessert plate of my Girlfriend the waiter not only told her in advance she would get this (thereby ruining the suprize) but by the time her cake arrived there was no "happy Birthday" message at all. Overall an excellent choice for fine dining and worth multiple visits.

My wife and I have been regulars at Classico.As we always celebrate our anniversary here!I sent a mail through to make a booking at the new location as it would be our first time there.Though we need to try the Botanico branch.Classio is quite sentimental to us having had our first date there! The service was impeccable as usual, they really did go out of their way to make us feel truly special! Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Johannesburg. The food is fantastic and service is great with an excellent selection of wines. It's great for date nights or an up market dinner with friends and family. Every visit to Cafe Del Sol is a great experience especially in the new location in Blueberry. The now have pizza which is a great addition to the already brilliant menu.

Updating my review after visiting for the second time. We received outstanding service from Joubert and Chirac. Joubert had us giggling evertime he came around to check on us. We ordered the chefs special fillet and the pepper corn fillet and the flavor was amazing. The Salted Caramel Crème Brûlée is a must try for dessert!

Their food was great except for one thing: they served an item that had a vegetarian icon on the menu with bacon. When I pointed out to them that they can't do this and need to fix the menu, they defended saying that I should have requested that the vegetarian dish be made without bacon.

We ate at the new restaurant last night (26 April) and all I can say is wow! I had the stuff calamari and my husband had the peppercorn fillet. I don't think I've ever had such an immediate reaction to the deliciousness of a meal. Every bite was just amazing! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal too! For dessert we both had the salted caramel creme brulee and it too was fantastic. Four stars because our waiter kind of disappeared after bringing us the food, but someone else noticed and took care of us.

We had the most amazing time at Classico on Valentine's Day. Our waiter - I believe his name was Lindani - was the best. The food was sublime, too. My absolute favourite dishes on your menu (based on this visit and many others), would have to be the crispy squid heads, the mussels, the gnocchi, Nonna's Ragu, the Duck Ragu, and of course the panna cotta (yours is the only panna cotta I'll eat that wasn't made in my own kitchen). My husband is crazy for your nougat cheesecake, too. All in all, we love this branch, the staff and the food.

We had a birthday dinner and again, it was wonderful. The service was impeccable and the food just sublime. We hadn't been there since 2019 and it did not disappoint. Does not cater to vegans, despite the menu's claims to the contrary. Edit as response to the owner: thank you for the response! I was treated kindly and respectfully my entire time there. I went to the olivedale branch that expressly did not have pasta without eggs, could only "try" make a vegan risotto. The vegan ragu, I was told, did not exist. To quote the manager/owner: "we don't really do vegan". We subsequently left as the only remaining option was the burger, which we did not come to have. I have changed my rating to four stars so that I don't affect business. Some more attention to the vegan options, however, would be appreciated.

If I could, I would score this restaurant 6 stars! I cannot possibly praise them enough. Not only are they responsive to special requests, but also deliver service of outstanding quality. In fact, they deserve the honour of being recognised as one of Johannesburg's top Italian-inspired restaurants. I was surprised to read a review indicating that the prices are high, and can only wonder if this reviewer is used to prices at a local Spur or lives under a rock. The food quality, menu offering and plating is phenomenal, and their attention to detail exemplary. The wine and drinks list is also extensive and reasonably priced in comparison with other eateries in this class around Johannesburg North. In fact, the menu items are all reasonably priced considering that this establishment falls within the fine dining dome. The portions are also incredibly generous. Their homemade ravioli, gnocchi and tagliatelle would rival anything out of Florence or Rome's Michelin-star establishments, and their risotto is a taste explosion of note. Try the Porcini risotto. It is an absolute delight. The usual Italian mainstays like Gnocci Gorgonzola will blow you away, with feathery-light pillows of gnocchi caressed by creamy (but not overpowering) Gorgonzola and Parmesan sauce, further bedecked by the perfect amount of toasted, crunchy walnuts. The meat and fillet offerings (as "Secondi" on their menu) are varied and exquisite. Certainly not your run-of-the-mill steaks. Dessert offerings are outstanding, with probably the best pavlova in history. They also offer a velvety warm chocolate cake smothered in dark chocolate sauce and served with a generous helping of ultra-decadent vanilla gelato. The orangey, syrupy crepes "Suzetta" are sublime, and the salted-caramel Creme Brûlée is a clear winner. This is an extremely special restaurant offering food and service of the highest quality. It deserves its spot as one of Joburg's (and one of South Africa's) finest Italian-inspired eateries. There is a reason it has been continually voted one of the finest over the last 12 years. You will not be disappointed.

Consistently great food!

Went there last night at the new blueberry center. The restaurant feels a little less intimate than the previous venue (on the inside) but once it fills up has a good vibe. There was a temporary manager there helping out I believe whilst the center gets going and he was phenomenal. Attentive without being over bearing, checked up at the right times and clearly manages the staff well. Service was excellent. I had been keen on the ragu again and it was probably the best one I've had there. My partners Ravioli special was also exceptionally good with absolutely zero complaints. Lovely new venue, great service and exceptional food. Well done guys and good luck
