We have been to My Fish several times this year. It was an absolute pleasure the first time and wondered how we could have missed out with it being so nearby. However, this week is the last time, after a number of bad episodes of service in general (not Collin), oily drenched fish, chips and rice that lacked flavour. Not sure what is happening but it has gone from a 8/10 to a 2/10. Collin, our waiter has been an absolute star the past two visits, but this food is not good unfortunately. We both ordered XL hake at R98 each. Collin did get it right, the kitchen didn't. This is not XL neither is it a L, more a M or a S. The chips, not only this time drenched in oil, but in previous times too. From the pictures you can tell the story... I know you can improve, please do.

Date night….What a lovey restaurant, menu has a nice variety, steak, chicken, fish (melts like butter in your mouth ), curry and a whole lot more...food is so tasty and fresh. Staff friendly and efficient. A must visit. You can also buy fresh fish and all kinds of goodies 👍👍thumbs up to this one.

A fresh, perfectly cooked seafood meal every single time. They stock fresh and frozen fish, as well as a selection of Portuguese merchandise too. Amazing Chilli and tartar sauces. Fresh hake cooked the way you like is a highly recommended option. Fabulous place 👌

I had my 50th birthday celebration here on Saturday and absolutely had the best day. This place was so accommodating, the waiters all so friendly and the food exceptional. Special mention to Terence our waiter that attended to all our needs with a smile. Best seafood restaurant around. Highly recommended.

This place is an absolute hidden gem!! The food is fantastic! The prices are excellent for what you get and the staff is very friendly. My fish has a great future ahead of them. All they missing is a modern touch and some TV's for sport, but it's a cozy space. Definitely give them a try.

The mister, when given Super Bok on tap, is happy as an oyster. Speaking of oysters, I tried my first one today. It's not for everyone. Very fresh and oceany. The mister had a sea bream freshly prepared; I took a conservative approach and ordered the small hake and chips. Everything was divine. Let me not forget to mention the rissoles. Magic in the mouth. Thank you Ben for being a fabulous waiter.

Great fresh seafood. The service is good. Options are very big, especially if you want to pick fish from the variety of fresh foods that they sell. The shop have a big variety of deli food as well. The restaurant food is really fresh and tasty. Well worth a visit if you like seafood and or various fish dishes. The restaurant have a inside as well as outside dining area and cater for for rainy days as well. No play area but kids tables. Book in advance to ensure seats or at least phone in advance. Good. Atmosphere, good service and good food. Parking at the back as you enter as well but limited seats.

Such a hidden gem, honest some or the best sea food I have tried. This is a no fuss uncomplicated restaurant located within a fish shop. The flavors used to prepare the food were authentically portugese. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for some great seafood

Best Services, professional and Friendly staff. Best Fresh Quality you can find. It's like you are at the coast. Fisherman doc, offload Fresh caught seafood. You pick what you like. Food is cooked there and then.. wow! Don't forget, you can also buy fresh produce and cook at home.

Best fish shop and restaurant in the West side of town. Always loved the food and some of the specials on fish like silvers or Cod or reds are just amazing. Hake is fresh and come February there is often also fresh Tuna. Nice people. Fridays can be very very busy as many go there then. Lazy Sunday lunches are great too. Not a late night place some go at seven latest in the week. But you will get great food at a very reasonable prices and the wine is good solid SA stuff but will cost less than most. Nice beer. Small kids play area outside. Oh the peri peri source is WOW. Also sell very fresh fish which they cook for you at a price. That is the secret of My fish. If you have a bit of time select your fresh fish and have them cook it. Add chips or veggies or salad. Heaven

Fish and seafood always fresh from this store. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are good compared to other fish restaurants. My Fish provides very affordable, daily meal specials, with a choice of three different meals everyday. Outside seating area in garden and terrace, provides a nice ambiance when enjoying your meal and drinks. Service tends to be on the slow side when restaurant is busy but the food and fresh seafood is always well worth the wait.

This was my first experience at Myfish.The food was excellant Fish,prawns and preparation of our dishes were perfect. My wife and I were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary.Lethu took care of us while serving other diners and we did feel neglected at all.The draft beer was enjoyable.I thanked your chef Gerhard for preparing our meal to perfection.We spent time taking to Freddie so we could buy our fish at My Fish snd cook it at home.We aslo bought your pork ribs which was cut and prpared for my son to cook it at home over the holidays.We bought 12 frozen rissoles as take away after eating the prawn and chicken as a starter.We udually buy them at a supermarket in Ontdekkers The best food I have eaten after a very long time.in early 80 ies my boss Jose Gouveia took me to many Portuguese restaurants in and around Johannesburg.My Fish ranks in the top. Some of the reviews were good and I thank the one diner thst said the best in Gauteng. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

I ordered a rib eye steak. It arrived after a very long wait. Ordered medium, received something that looks like club steak. Very fatty, and very dry. The sauce was dried out... I called the waiter and hold her that that it us not up to standard. She took the plate back and brought me a steak. It was much better. 6 hrs later I have violent pains on my stomach. I feel that I should never go there again. It is as if because I complained I was taught a lesson. Very disappointed . first time and last...

Food was good. Place was very quiet but then it was very early on a very cold morning. Staff was not overly friendly but went about their chores and tended to us when needed. Will go there again in a different timeslot

Went there for the first time today. I enjoyed the snoek and the service was quick. I will definitely be coming back.

Oh my hat... went there for the first time tonight, but will most definitely not be the last. Our meals were cooked perfectly. The garlic muscles were to die for.... the calamari was so tender, I really can't remember when last I had them taste that good. Highly recommended.... BUT please, as they say on the menu, be patient... it takes time to cook perfection and that is what we got...

Not our 1st visit. Always loved eating here as the food is great and the price reasonable. However today the service was disappointing. We were a a party of 14 granted but waiting 2 hours for food is a bit much. Reason being that there 1 waitress for us and others. Spoiled it a bit. Food was still good but the wait was too much. Beter planning with more staff on busy days can prevent this from happening

One of the best meals affordable and sooo fresh. You choose your fish prawns or any seafood you desire.. they cook it for you there you add your side of your choice and viola the best meal ever!! We also had calamari which was soooo incredible. We've been so many times and each time it gets better and better 😌 can't wait to go again.

Best fresh seafood for home cooking plus advise if needed. Take away is superb and dine in is cosy and food is authentic! Wonderful service.

Don't get me wrong, the fish is fresh however the service is lapse and slow and sometimes the waitress doesn't even appear midley enthusiastic to be serving you. There's no uniforms in the staff so it comes across as sloppy. What dissapointed me the most was that I ordered a calamari tube main, the waitress didn't ask what I'd like with it (chips, veg, etc)... It doesn't even stipulate in the menu. Anyway! The calamari dish that I ordered had only 16 tubes on the plate. I was charged full price for what seemed a starter meal. Not the greatest of places that I've been at.

My Fish is amazing. They are not only the best fish restaurant around, but they also sell fish for you to take home, and cook yourself. I went there looking for fish to braai, and Angel took me through all the options, as well as the pros and cons of all the different types of fish. She is incredibly knowledgeable.

Nice cosy place. Seafood shop and restaurant. Parking is limited. Took almost an hour for food to arrive after ordering. Portions are average but the taste is good.

Great food, excellent customer service, you can select your own piece of fresh fish or any seafood sold in store and they can prepare it for you at a fantastic price. Will visit soon again.

We ordered the 2xfried calamari, prawn curry & Clam stew. It costed us just under R500. The prawn curry was good. The calamari tubes was oily and soggy. And I was sick after eating the clam stew. The ambience is good & cozy. Sorry to say my overall experience was poor and will not be visiting this place in a hurry again.
