A very special birthday lunch for my daughter and grandson. All our food was out of this world and Luca is so hands on. He also arranged a beautiful Belguim chocolate cake which was served after our lunch. Will definitely see us there again.

Just like mamma made it. In need of some comforting Italian food, go check out the new home of Luca's Ristorante now situated in sandton in the 24 Central building in Gwen Lane. Luca himself took care of us during lunch, along with 2 of his staff members. The service was excellent, the staff all friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much for them. Even if you vegetarian or gluten free, Luca makes a plan. We had a set menu for the #DineLucaStyle lunch, and wow, were we blown away. A welcome drink of Aperol Spritz with Valdo Brut Prosecco to get the afternoon going. Sharing meals amongst old and new friends is always a great way to get to know people. We started off with the House Salad with a Narcotic dressing, and Pizza with avo and rocket and Balsamic reduction. This was then followed by Grilled and fried Falklands Calamari and Squid heads, fresh green Asparagus smothered in a Rich Gorgonzola sauce with roasted Almond flakes. I'm not an Asparagus fan and the sauce was very rich. But somehow it worked and it was bursting with flavours. We were already starting to get full and then along came Luca to serve us some tantalising pasta dishes himself. The Fettucine Caruso, Risotto Nero di seppia and then the Rigatoni Al la Norma. The Risotto impressed me the most, be it the texture, the colour and contrast with the Calamari just gave it that extra edge. Now I know we've just spoken pizza pasta and seafood of sorts, don't despair there is meat on the menu. Those who love Osso Bucco, served with mash; Pechana Al italiano (juicy tender pieces of meat and potatoes), Lamb Al Caffè (which is Luca's mom's recipe using apricots and coffee in the mix) and fresh mussel and clam soup. The Soup flavour was refreshing. We were honestly spoilt for choice and you can expect nothing less when dining with JoziStyle To finish off a fabulous afternoon, I had the Grappa and Pistachio DomPedro and a taste of the Tiramisu, definitely one of the best I've had in a while. Some of the guests had the Gelato in a cone, either the Choc Amaro which was guilt free, Vanilla Pod or Panna Cotta Flavoured. Thanks to Edward, Luca and team for spoiling us. I came with my Danish friends to have dinner here , we read that it’s been the longest standing restaurant in most of Sandton Area. Our starter was just okay 2/5 we had cappacio didn’t have much of a taste , but the main menu was just mind blowing I had rabbit and my friend had the pasta oh my soul it was unbelievable delicious well cooked 5/5 well matched with a good bottle of Red, the waiters are a bit old yet I guess with age comes wisdom and some other benefits . We enjoyed ourselves so much we came back the following night for the pasta. Place was clean I loved the bathrooms. Deco simple and stylish We had a beautiful evening

We found Luca’s Ristorante on Google and chose to dine here on our first night in South Africa. WOW, what an amazing experience. We loved everything from the lovely service, the very nice dining room, the absolutely delicious food & wine, and the delightful meeting of Luca himself who personally came out to every table to check in. All of our meals from lasagna to pizza were fabulous, but the butternut sage ravioli was perfection and all of our favorite!! We could not have asked for a more wonderful first dining experience in South Africa. Our family of five highly recommends Luca’s Ristoranté Italiano!

Had the risotto fungi and the pesto gnocchi. The food was very good and the portions were generous. Unfortunately, alcohol could not be served at the time I visited due to the restaurant not having its license in place. I’m sure this will be resolved soon but just a heads up if you intend on visiting soon.

Great food, the toppings didn't end on the pizza which was delicious. The base was thin and crispy and the pizza had a wonderful aroma. Great service from the waitors to the chef who even goes table to table to check if everything is going well with the meal. Has a very personal touch to it.

This is lovely place, we came here for lunch and I’m already ready to go back for dinner. We had salads and they were amazing, the portion size is generous and the salad was fresh and tasty. Our waiter Sphiwe, was friendly and courteous.

It was so calm, relaxing, the food was amazing. I didn't know that much about Italian food but the waiter was so happy to teach me.😭😭😭 I'm definitely going back.

Amazing; Credit where credit is due, last night was the 3rd time we've eaten there, and it's been impressive every single time. The pasta was amazing as per usual. I will however suggest, when you order something, don't get rice as a side. The rice was a bit dry, but the service, price, and quality of the pasta's and pizza was incredible. I would definitely suggest you go there.

Quality Italian food in a modern setting. The restaurant has a warm atmosphere and the waiting staff are helpful and friendly. Prices and portion sizes are on a par with most Sandton restaurants.

Hi Luca's I was there at your restaurant tonight at 9pm after I seen on this very platform that you close at 09:30pm, however upon my arrival doors are close and for the few staff that were there standing outside, I asked them why are you closed and they blatantly ignored me - not sure why this happened as I do not think I was rude and I just wanted to confirm if the time on the internet was wrong, not service I would expect especially since I always order from them. The very best restaurant in Johannesburg. 10/10 recommend this establishment to anyone with a craving for Italian food. You have not had Italian if you have not eaten here. This restaurant is my number one favourite ever since I discovered it. The quality of food is on another level and honestly can’t be beat. I am never disappointed when I visit Luca’s. The pizzas are incredible, I am crazy about their pastas and their house salad is unlike anything I have had before. I could eat here everyday and never get bored. With such incredible flavours and a variety that gives you something new to try every visit, you can’t ask for a better restaurant. And all at brilliant prices that are more than fair for the portions and quality you receive. I even recommended the venue for y companies year end function and each and every one of my colleagues have been back for more since then. An amazing venue and Luca himself is absolutely fantastic. He can attest to what it truly means to be a good host. Always happy and smiling, delivering the complete experience to each and every guest within his restaurant. Goes to show that true respect and quality service goes a long way. 6/5 stars for this establishment.

Friendly welcoming place. Luca is great and very hands on. And he has a sense of humour despite the busy environment. Tried the calamari and the caprese salad. Both tasty - though the burrata could be more authentic. Just a quibble. The thin crust pizza looked good so happy to return to try that on a future visit.

We came to Luca's for my birthday. It's a little hidden away in the centre, which gives it a hidden gem kind of feel. You're welcomed by man in a chef jacket. It has a true Italian family-run restaurant feeling. The pasta is truly amazing. I mean pasta is pasta at most places, but Luca's pasta is just extraordinary 🍝 Wish I could rate it 7 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We wanted a quick meal after a long day of travelling and came here on the back of all the five-star reviews - and boy did Luca’s deliver! The service was friendly and quick, and the wine list extensive. We highly recommend the Roma pizza; my husband, who has had a lot of pizza in his life, insists it’s the best he’s ever had. Will definitely return.

Centrally located in Sandton, with a warm and comfy ambience and traditional decor. The food is well made and absolutely delicious, and portions large. Luca's does not currently serve alcohol and allows you to Bring your own bottle of wine. The mushroom Risotto is one of the best I've had. Servers are friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return

What a absolute gem. Situated in a quiet corner. However, we did go in a Sunday evening! The food was absolutely fantastic. We ordered pasta and a gourmet seafood pizza that was unexpectedly delicious! The restaurant had a warm welcoming vibe and the service was great! The owner of Lacas was very friendly and welcoming. When we left we felt like we just had dinner at a friends house.

A textbook example of a taste of Tuscany all the way in Mzansi. The food, friendly staff and easy going people here make Luca's Ristorante a place to be if one needs to unwind with some fine dining and Italian aesthetics to match.

The risotto is life.... The waiter went beyond expected. We requested that we needed to leave at a certain time, eat in and take take aways... he made sure everything went smoothly... but again their risotto is AMAZING

Menus are done via your phone/website, which is very hygienic amidst these virus days! The wine list is truly a connoisseurs' delight, clearly done by someone who knows wine. Excellent!! Luca's is a fine dining restaurant in true & authentic Italian style. As I was there for lunch, I chose to have pizza, which was brilliant. One of the best I have ever had. Luca's is highly recommended 👌👍

Nice restaurant with good food options. I enjoyed the Osso bucco. The portions were great and the polenta so nice. Restaurant lacks atmosphere when quiet although.
