Been here a couple of times, sadly the place has turned into a hangout spot for rowdy teens who come to drink, smoke and make noise with their bluetooth speakers so for a guy like me not a very good place to be from that perspective but on the positive side the views are amazing especially if you go there during sunrise/sunset. Want to go there during Jacaranda season at some point, i heard it looks great.

This is hands down the best view of Johannesburg and if you come here around late October you'll see so much purple scattered across the landscape because of the Jacaranda trees. The view is magnificent. You can see all the way out to The Dome, Sandton and even Joburg city. Magnificent view, just be careful and don't do anything stupid because there is no railing that can prevent you from falling off the cliff onto a bunch of rocks. It's also very windy near the cliffs edge. There's benches for you to sit on to enjoy the view. Only down side is that even though bins are in clear view, people still throw their trash all over the place, I don't understand why this happens. There's also a lot of youth blasting music, smoking weed and drinking which could make your experience s little bit less enjoyable but the path to walk on is farely long so you can always find a quiet spot. Besides this, the view is worth it. It's truly a hidden gem.

Beautiful spot. Incredible views. Relatively clean. Just sad to see the graffiti left by skum who cannot resist.

Beautiful view, seems pretty safe, not a lot of parking or security, no public toilet, no entry fee. Benches to sit on and take in the urban beauty of Josy, worth a visit for sure.

What an exciting improvement to such a spectacular place. The last time I was there (about 15 years ago), our car was broken into. Going there this time was great. We felt safe and could really enjoy the amazing views of Joburg. I love that the community can get involved with maintaining the beauty of the space by collecting trash while on a walk. The presence of security personnel at closing time was also a welcomed sight.

It's stunning up there. Went on a sunday morning and couldn't believe the peace and quiet. There a few people and lots of parking. Great place to relax with the whole family. The children loved it. Grab a sun hat and a few snacks, or do a whole picnic with friends. You will not regret it, trust me. Around sunset, that is when most people come, and parking can become a problem. I recommend this place.

The drive up to the top is really beautiful and when you get there you understand why. I went on a Sunday just to take a walk and read a book and I wasn't disappointed. There is security and it feels very safe. Really recommend for families, couples and anyone who wants some quiet time in the city

Its like stepping into a slice of heaven! The views from the top of the ridge take your breath away, and being surrounded by nature makes you feel so alive and connected. It's the ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, where you can find solace and serenity in the embrace of Mother Nature.

The best view in Jozi, hands down. I have been going up there for years. It’s unfortunately not safe to be there all the time. Be careful at night and some weekends too. There is often litter as well but the view is worth it. Be safe, go in a group and spend some time up there. You will not regret it. Insightful fact: On a clear day, you can see the Voortrekker Monument.

The view is magnificent, I felt like I was walking at the edge of Northclif, one can easily spot Sandton and Rosebank.. You can even spot Jo'burg CBD but not as clear as the two. The is no entrance fee, the parking space and bences are limited especially when its sunset times as quite a number of people come wanting to see the beauty. 😎😎

A nice spot to get the best views of Jhb, haze can spoil your views, but it's worth the effort to visit this site.

The place was busy & abuzz with a youthful crowd with 'hublys', speakers, coolers n picnic baskets. A handful of adults with their children as well. Quite contrary to the serenity I used to experience in my past visits some 5 or so years ago. (Not complaining though). This is a lovely spot to take photos and enjoy the views on offer. On a quite day, you can relax on the benches with a book or maybe just gather your thoughts.

Great view of Johannesburg suburbs. It's very small so a short stroll around the park. Best for watching sunset and city lights coming on while sitting on a rock. Parking can be very scarce especially at sunset hours.

Incredible gem with an experience for the whole family. Firstly, the drive up there is an ultimate hill experience with the steep climb. Once you get up there, you're greeted with a gust of fresh hilltop air, and a spectacular view of Gauteng sprawling below you. Some of the many places you'll be able to see from up there include Midrand (Mall of Africa), Sandton (in all its awesomeness), Rosebank, the city of Johannesburg, Orlando (and FNB stadium) the Dome, Westrand etc. The entire place is bigger at the top than you'd think, giving you a chance to walk across the plateau, then sit off the edges (if you dare 😉). A definite recommend

The best view of Johannesburg and surrounding. Usually very quiet place except for weekends in sunset. Caution for the walking on the edge is needed as there is no safety fence. Not recommended to visit by night because of possible robbery.

Going here just to enjoy the awesome view was amazing . Going there with a special group of people is even more amazing. Great place for a picnic, dates , or even just to relax and think. This isn't the kind of place to visit once . I'll be returning there soon

Lovely day bringing awareness to Global Day of Creative Action in collaboration with MicroGalleries.org and coinciding with the UN COP26 Summit. "Golden Repair" Joburg art installation. Thank you City Parks and City of Joburg and local community for your support! #GDCA21 #Joburg #SouthAfrica #ClimateAction #ProtectWaterSources

Expansive natural views of Gauteng. Every cbd in the city of Johannesburg is visible from this amazing piece of urban heritage. Pity about the people that leave litter strewn all over the place, management does well in cleaning it up though.

Northcliff Ridge Eco Park is based in Randburg which is situated at Mountain top with a paved path for walking, jogging etc. There are benches to sit and relax from the hustling life and watch sunset. The mesmerizing view of the city can be seen from the top of this mountain. There is very less parking space so either to get early and park next to the gate and in the available parking space or to park next to the road. You can take your food there and enjoy. The park is well maintained and there are bins available at every like 10 meters.

Hey guys, today (13/08/2022) we found a handbag that was left at the park. We handed it to Police Office Linsy as he was doing his closing rounds +- 6pm. He said he would give it to security at the boom. There was an ID so this will be verified on collection. Hopefully you see this and get your stuff back. If not please reach out as I took the police officers number. xx

It was hot and sunny. But at the top, it was cold and windy. We couldn't stay as long as we wanted to. As a result I caught a flu. Always take a sweater or something, it's cold up there. We had fun

Northcliff hill has the Best views of the city. If you go for sunset, bonus! Take a blanket, picnic basket and drinks, double bonus! If you're into nature and photography, you might score some sweet shots as well. This is Joburg's 2nd highest point at over 1600mt above sea level. Worth to pay a visit

Grabbed a coffee on my way to spent a part of my Saturday afternoon here. Even in soft drops of rain people were coming and going. Incredible view! A very short walk..but beautiful! A MUST VISIT.

A must see if visiting Johannesburg! A wonderful experience! Enjoy a picturesque view of the city of gold from way up high. Exhilarating views and awesome to take some neat pictures.

  • 3/5 Kelly B. 1 year ago on Google
Sure it's a beautiful view... But honestly, I get bored fast there. There's really not much to do or anything. So if you wanted something to do other than look at the city from a higher vantage point then you will be disappointed unfortunately

Northcliff ridge has a beautiful walkway and amazing benches to sit on to enjoy the view. From the top of the tower on a clear day you can spot the Voortrekker monument. It is relatively safe as long as you watch your step!

Beautiful scenery, with a must see view. I would recommend you visit at sunset to get the full experience here

  • 5/5 Wesley C. 3 years ago on Google
Quiet spot to catch a good read or picnic. Avoid going there in extreme heat situations because there is little to no shade and also bring water or anything else for hydration, there will be no tap water available. Apart from that this is the ultimate Mecca for those that like to catch a clean breeze. I highly recommend stopping by 😎

  • 4/5 Matsidiso B. 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful place. Romantic view. I think it would be better if alcohol was not allowed there coz you see broken pieces beer bottles on the ground.

  • 5/5 Stephen M. 3 years ago on Google
Super safe and some beautiful views of the North Johannesburg. On a clear day you will see the Magalies. Early mornings or summer sunsets the best

  • 5/5 Michelle S. 1 year ago on Google
Stunning views! Good for romantic picnics or just a picnic. Meditating, a quick evening walk with the family including kids and lovers. Perfect place to catch the sunset so after 5pm is the best time to go. Apparently now closes at 6pm.
