For the covid vaccine, make sure you go to the black gate on Witkoppen road. At the entrance get a ticket on the left from a friendly staff member. You will then que on the seats at the entrance. The process is pretty fast. You will then be called to join the que outside the green tent. Each row goes in one at a time. When you reach the front row , you are able to sanitise and go into the tent. PS the seats are comfortable whilst waiting. Inside the tent the staff are helpful and friendly. Your details get taken. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. You are asked if this is your first or second jab. You will need your ID. You will be given a choice between J&J and Phizer vaccine at the desk. You will then proceed into the vaccination station where your card is signed by a staff member. You then are asked to roll up your sleeve to the top of your arm (it's advised to wear a short sleeve ) and when you receive the injection you barely feel a thing. Proceed to the post vacation station and wait 10 mins to make sure you rest a little and all is well. That's it ! See you at shot 2

I attended this clinic for the 1st time this week. Like all doctors whether private or government, you wait for your turn to be attended to. I was amazed at the service that this team provides. I’m sure the treatment recurved in this day would have cost me an arm and a leg in a private facility. They ensure that all proper checks are carried out so that a proper diagnosis is given. I never knew that they offered so many different services likes dentists, child and mother care and many more. Staff was friendly and willing to help us understand the process they follow since it was the first time there. WOW! Keep it up!

I have no idea where these good reviews come from. Our nanny has now visited this clinic twice and both times she was turned away. The first time she went there with her baby and she was told that she was to return on the Friday at 6am. She was treated like a criminal for taking her baby to the clinic. On the Friday she arrived at the clinic around 5:30am, a very horrible person behind the counter told her to go away and that she is opening files which is not her job. Our nanny told the person that she had an appointment and asked her to please help her as she lives far away and can't keep travelling like this. To this she was asked who she thinks she was and told that she is giving the person behind the counter extra work which she does not want to do, the person simply took the card and wrote a new date on it. How can a medical clinic treat people like this, I would not recommend this place to anyone. The sad thing is, they know people are battling financially and are relying on them so they think they can treat these people like animals.

We needed a place to get second dose COVID-19 vaccination. We got an sms telling us that our booking for second dose jab was at Witkkopoen Clinic. At first apprehensive because it’s a public clinic and government led. We got there around 8:30am and already long lines, and lots of people. The space was well organized and the manual queuing system manned by competent security guards and even car guards who felt full empowered to quickly adapt as and when needed. We were out of the place by 10am. Too less than two hours to get a jab. Lessons learnt : Even in public owned institutions there are super competent and commuted people Not all government officials are incompetent and corrupt. We don’t celebrate competent government officials enough . The narrative Lena’s more on the corrupt , incompetent and never balanced. It’s always great to get same service as everyone else so as not to lose touch with reality and to be able to empathize with those who are less for image than you are. The Witkkopen Clinic might be a public government owned institution . Yet, it’s well lead and runs smoothly

Currently in the post vaccination area at Witkoppen Clinic, pleasantly surprised by friendly atmosphere and an efficient process. Arrived just before 11am so after the 15 minute waiting period, all will be done in 45 min. Thought I would add a follow up review for my 2nd Vaccination. I was due to go on Friday 17th Sept, unfortunately the staff administering the vaccines were delayed, so I could not wait. I went back on the Monday morning (around 11am) straight in with no wait at all, except the 15 Minutes post vaccination as per the regulations.

Massive thanks to Erick and Phumla for assisting me and my parther at the clinic, they were both extremely helpful and made us feel welcome & relaxed, especially as it was our first time going there. The clinic is well run and offers anything you need to get sorted out such as; free checkups on your health condition and even free Dentistry. I will gladly go back whenever I have a medical issue because of the service which I received. Thank you & keep serving others like you do... it does make a difference!

This is by far the worst clinic and I do not recommend you visit this place. Staff is rude and they could not be bothered to assist. I came in on the 24th of January and was here at 5am. I went through the entire screening process moving from que to que. I got to the department that does contraception only to be told the nurse who was coming back from leave on the 24th of Jan had come to work and fallen ill. So she left. After following the horrendous que only to be sent back home. Two nurses at the front desk took my chart and advised that I must come straight to the department on the 7th of Feb. Today I came here and asked for my chart but nobody seems to know what I am talking about. It took the nurse two and a half house just to tell me she cannot find my file. The attitude of the staff is terrible. Customer service does not exist because the clinic is not free and you have to pay for services. Terrible experience overall and I would not recommend you visit this place.

I was 1st exposed to Witkoppen Clinic 2021, I was directed there by Gov System to get my Jab there then I decided to give the rest of their facility a try . I don't do public hospitals and Clinics. I'm going to give you an honest review to those who don't usually go to Gov Clinics . Brace yourself yourself for long Ques, if you get there at 6am you are already destined to leave earliest at 2pm (with my last visit at 16:16) because by then you are patient number150 or so on the que. If you get there at around 10am/11:00 they won't let you in (they call it cutting the Queue). My review rating is based on my 1st experience there.... I got to understand why it takes so long. Witkoppen Clinic is thorough unlike Private Hospitals the moment you enter to open your file you get HIV Test and Counseling, then you move to vitals /urinary /pregnancy test etc. You understand why it takes long because there are many people, yet they have to ensure that all these steps are taken for every patient. The Key Staff members (Drs, Admin, Counseling staff, Nurses) they are polite, speak to you as if you matter (yes you can expect a bad tone here and there because we all have bad days at times ). My not so good experiences was 1. the security at the gate, he just wants to get order and won't nurse your feelings 2. by the time you get to pharmacy (14:00 - 16:00)they are rushing and want to close they will rush you through the process of how to take your meds 3. There are no Big Clear signs on Where to go Next and where to sit and wait, so you end up asking everyone where to go next 4.There Are Few Doctors (it's their biggest downfall), by the time it's 16:00 most volunteer Doctors and Sisters leave, then you remain with 2 Doctors on a que of 20 to 30 people .If you are a germ freak... Toilets are fairly clean, the Clinic is fairly clean (considering the numbers). I rate it 4 because of the kind service and hard working staff, i wish more donors would come through so systems could go back to being quick (as you keep hearing by old patients say) , because apparently the slow Ques are as a result of lack of staff members.

I normally have excellent service at Witkoppen Clinic whether routine visits or emergency as I live in the area and my staff members also frequent the clinic. Today I went there for my Vaccine and the treatment was rude and inconsiderate. The vaccinator who attended to me was rude and complained of tiredness and would not listen to any questions that myself and any of the other elderly people in my company had to ask.

I just been to the clinic - since 4am this morning. I enetered the clinic around 6:30am and had to open a file. I had to do HIV test, urine test, was weighed in. I was then sent from pilar to post. Which I don't have a problem with, however when I needed to draw blood the nurse said she cannot find a vain and just started pricking in the arm without being sure. I am honestly not sure why most Govenrment institutions have to help us in this kind of manner. I am sitting with a sore arm pricked and no blood drawn. I mean really. The other one in Woman's Health department said what are you waiting for - I said my file is with the other lady I am waiting for her to call me. Then she said - WAIT OUTSIDE! Not even wait outside please just very rude. When are we going to do better in this country for a people who are truly looking for help and get no jobs to go to private facilities.

It's bad experience I arrive there at 800am and I find parking at 8:30am. And I get thru. There is no sanitizer to sanize people in the door. There is no respect of social distance when we wait for our turn the chairs are next to each other. 🤦‍♀️

Queued as early as i could at 6am only to be served at 4pm. They even had the guts to say if you want to be served quickly pay 300 is that by law?. Service poor, only received 1month medication instead of 3months. Was supposed to get bloods done that did not happen. This is unacceptable especially for a health facility that is supposed to take care of peoples health really disappointed.

I was at the clinic today and I must be honest and say it wasn't the best experience. Some of the staff members are extremely rude and don't explain the process for first time visitors, especially the lady that was in charge of taking weight and urine samples today. Dr Sr Diana Gearing was an absolute delight, big ups to her.

I am extremely pleasantly surprised with Witkoppen antenatal clinic. I am almost six months pregnant with my first child and I had initially wasted thousands of rands on a gynecologist who did nothing but play pictionary with the ultrasound scanner and give me pictures of the baby. I had also tried Randburg clinic. They unfortunately played into every public health institution stereotype. We waited for an hour for an admin clerk who had decided to go to Cambridge to buy her home groceries during work hours. When she did arrive, she turned us away. By the time I went to Witkoppen I was disillusioned with the healthcare system and on the verge of giving up on ANC and just thought I would figure things out when the baby came. My partner convinced me to go to Witkoppen as a last ditch attempt. We were turned away on the 2nd because we arrived at 10am. We were told to return the next day before 7am. We arrived on 3 January 2017 at 6:15am, received a number and waited in line. While waiting in line, one of the nurses gave us a 15 minute briefing of exactly what would be done the entire day and for what reasons. We received tetanus shots, had urine and blood tests done. Also had weight and height measurements. During the physical examination, I was stripped naked and had eyes, ears, nose, mouth, armpits, hands, chest, back, fetus length, fetal heartbeat, bowel movement and vaginal inspections. Believe or not, I never received this from the private gynae. The staff were really helpful and professional, especially the more mature ladies. Surprisingly, it was the young staff in their 20s who were crass and rude and seemed to be high on some delusional power trip. Like most public institutions, I was there the whole day until exactly 4pm. The ultrasound scanner was also archaic, couldn't make out the baby at all. But I am super happy with the service at Witkoppen. I would recommend the ANC to everyone who needs it. The first two visits are R110, the third R55 and then its free.

The staff at the prenatal care is amazing and do everything with humour. They explain every procedure clearly in different langauges to accommodate everyone. Kudos to Franscine, Sr Theodore Radebe, R Smith, the lady who operates next to the psychology office and the rest of the guys. Thank you.

I just come from there, to see the dentist (after i called yesterday to confirm that he/she would be in) i got turned away. In severe pain because the dentist only takes 24/25 people. Then the security (and nurse) referred me to a queue for first timers (this was my first time to visit the clinic) . Needless to say I was not one of the24/25 people. Looking for another alternative as the dentist is there only tuesday and thursday for 25 people. I hope this helps someone.

I visited the Clinic to see if the Clinic could assist with a 3 year old girl whose parents have neglected to ensure she receive all the needed innoculations. I was truly amazed at the handling of my enquiry. An appointment was made without me even asking. Truly impressed... I know there will be a long waitng period but at a cost of just 150.00 vs 1700.00 really not an issue.

Thank you Witkoppen Clinic for great job that you are doing in our society. This organization is one of the most important one in our society. it has great qualified ,experienced and passionate staff members who have willing to jump mountains for their patients. Not long ago they did good job with my daughter when she needed medical attention. The staff were hands on to insure that she is healed. I will like to thank this Clinic for what did for my family. Especially the following staff members at Witkoppen Clinic. *Annah Seemela & Veronica Mogohloa & sister Jennifer ♥️. May God bless you for the excellent service that you provide to all your patients. I will forever remain greatful. This organisation must continue being funded and growing bigger and better

I went to get my tooth removed and the place was of great help. The dentist was positively strict and precise. The payment part could be improved, waited a while in a long line making null the fact that I was given the number one card at the gate. All in all I was happy to get the service I needed 5 Sept 2023. Thank you to the whole team making it possible.

We are lately experiencing very long waiting hours for service. First time I went there I was turned back because I came in late …(10am) I then started comber very early in the morning … we will wait patiently, all queued up at the gate with babies (4am) till they open at 6am… only to wait again, give them your card and wait approximately 3 hours to get your file…or a new one if they have lost it 🤦🏻‍♀️ You then have to wait another 3-5 hours to see a nurse… I mean no communication whatsoever on the delays … when you ask they tell us the nurse is not in today so we have to wait to get assistance from the (General)Doctor or that she’s in a meeting and will see us after that 🤦🏻‍♀️. The waiting period is really something they should look into. The stuff is great by the way it’s management that needs to see how the clinic runs and if paying patience are taking seriously.

Today (23 March 2023) I went to Witkoppen Clinic to have a rabies shot administered. I was greeted by a friendly front desk lady and nurses who were very helpful, which made me feel comfortable to be there being that it was my first visit at the clinic. Everything went downhill when I was met by a female elderly physician who requested to speak to me outside after I had provided the clinic with my previous rabies shot history. If I may be honest, she was absolutely rude and extremely condescending in her tone when she was trying to explain to me the mistake of my last appointment. I couldn't even get a word in as she was rumbling and completely speaking down to me. This doctor went as far as to ask me whether I can read or not, to be honest I was extremely shocked. Even though she proceeded to breakdown my future appointments, I honestly didn't appreciate her attitude towards myself and even the staff there. I understand working in health care can be extremely taxing on an emotional and mental level especially when you are working in a government facility, however I would be doing a disservice by not writing this review. There is a difference between explaining something to someone that might seem like its easy for one person to understand and being completely rude and making comments at a poor attempt of being funny when you are actually being blatantly disrespectful. I hope this is reviewed and attended to accordingly, because even though I left without being assisted (because I didn't need to be), I can only imagine how she attends to patients that are actually in need of medical care.
