We tried to walk-in to the sister restaurant RAO and the manager suggested us to try their new restaurant Xera just across the alley like 10 steps away on the next day. We came back with 100% satisfaction. We dine in a group of 5 and ordered 7 dishes to share, see the pics below (we forgot to snap the Iberian pork cheek). ALL dishes were nicely plated and very tasty! We made sure nothing was left on the plate as every dish was well balanced, full of flavors but not over powering the main ingredient. Here I celebrated my birthday dinner and it was truly the best restaurant choice in Barcelona! It was a unique culinary experience. The place is cozy and small, perfect for conversations, the staff is more than welcoming. It is great for both tourists and locals and it is a guaranteed excellent meal at a decent price. I recommend you make a reservation before going, as more people are finding out about this city treasure.

I would really recommend this place if you want to experience high class modern tapas. We were a group of 6 people that shared a serving that included a variety of dishes selected by the staff. Professional, kind, joyful and prod personal. I just guess we were lucky to get a table without a reservation.

It’s not often in Barcelona that you meet excellent food with impeccable service. It’s just not the norm, in my experience. We were pleasantly surprised to find a very attentive staff serving excellent dishes guiding us through typical Catalonia fare. Highly recommend, most likely will repeat when we return in a week.

This restaurant is a gem. It has a relaxed atmosphere and is a little noisy with BGM. Yet it serves delicious dishes at affordable prices. Every dish we tried was superb. I would especially recommend the pork cheek which will melt in your mouth.

The best restaurant I have ever eaten at in my life. If you like and cherish food, order the pork cheek. Best item I have ever eaten. I also highly recommend the octopus, scallops, ceviche, and patatas bravas. The bread pudding dessert is unreal. The owner is a genius.

Amazing new restaurant in the heart of Barcelona. We wanted to go to Rao their sister restaurant and as it was fully booked they suggested we go there. That was a great surprise! The food was beautifully presented with dishes to share that were delicious. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. They accommodated us with our 6 month old baby. The sangria and wine were also perfect. Very well priced for the quality of food served. I highly recommend them.

Easily the best restaurant we went to in Barcelona, and we ate at a lot of really nice places. One of the best we've been to in the last couple years. We usually value the food itself over the service, but both were perfect 5/5 here. I'm hesitating to list highlights because everything was incredible. The pork cheek was unbelievable though, don't skip it. Keep up the great work guys!!

We loved the tapas so much we over ordered! Food was served really fast, and the servers explained every dish in detail. Delicious food was a great plus too! The warm reception as you enter the restaurant to care and concern if you enjoyed the food when you are settling the bill went beyond our expectation!

I would like first to thank the team to manage to find me a table for 1 person without having booked a reservation when they were full. Very professional and the tapas were very good. I really recommend! Octopus and scallops tapas were wonderful !

The 5 stars are not enough for xera. The food,service,ambience and hospitality of the staffs have made Xera as the best restaurant in Barcelona. I really liked the basic tomato bread,Catalan style chicken, Iberico cheek dish, and the dessert - chocolate mousse with salt & olive oil. The restaurant staffs recommended to order 2 dishes per person given it is tapas portion, and it was right one. I went there with my parents, and both of them were happy for the experience. I’d definitely come back here if I visit Barcelona again :)

The food was phenomenal! We got super lucky because there was a last minute opening. Apparently it's very difficult to get a reservation. Deservedly so. The staff warned us that we only had an hour and a half, but that they were very quick. They were right. We managed to eat dinner, have a bottle of wine and have coffee and dessert. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The pork cheeks were a religious experience! The ceviche and crema Catalan were the best I've ever had. Not sure of the history of the building, but it looks like it goes back to the 15th-16th century or was made to look that way. Really wonderful experience. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

The staff is very professional. They suggested that I eat the ham to accompany it with tomato bread. The taste is something I can’t forget for a long time! Very good experience.

Outstanding place with delicious food and tasty cava. I really recommend this place if you are looking for nice tapases and good quality of paella.

Amazing restaurant, amazing flavors. The sea bass ceviche and pork cheek were amazing, and the French style bread putting (I wish I could remember the name) was incredible. Staff were very kind and attentive. Looking forward to returning to this restaurant next time I’m in Barcelona. Highly recommend you make a reservation as it’s a pretty small place and quite popular at this point. They suggest you order 2 dishes per person but since the portions are somewhat small, if you’re quite hungry then even 3 might work. And try the desserts!
