This is one of the best private albergues we had during our Camino. The host, Gustavo, was very accommodating despite being very strict in enforcing the rules which made us feel safe and comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained and the bunk beds were well designed to minimize noise. I loved it. Location was perfect just beside the church and laundromat. I highly recommend this Albergue.

October 19, 2023 - Gustavo is the best! He recommended a good place to eat for our late lunch, Cafe Chelo. This albergue is highly recommendable and so far the best albergue with shared rooms. Since we were 3, it looked enclosed/private for us. The whole place is very neat, specially the bathroom. The location is perfect for pilgrims since the church is just in front and the camino route is on the same street.

Albergue San Francisco has everything a pilgrim needs. The location is good, with cafe/bars, restaurants, supermarket, shops, all within short walking distances. And it's right on the Camino de Santiago, so you don't have to go looking for it. I booked the single room on the ground floor and loved my stay. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The decoration was a nice touch too often skipped on in pilgrims' accommodation. The wifi worked well in the common area, but was a bit spotty inside the room. Everything runs like a well-oiled machine thanks to the manager Gustavo. Very friendly and knowledgeable, he told me where to get a much-needed foot massage. Definitely a place to book if you're in Azrua.

Friendly staff, very clean and super comfy beds, great facilities and an amazing breakfast to start the day. Would definitely recommend to anyone in our top 3 albergues of the Camino from st. Juan. Thanks to the owner who was way better at names than us.

The house was very nice, tidy and cosy and had a traditional decoration. However, the welcoming was a dry. We also payed for a standard breakfast which appeared to be filling for pilgrims; in the morning we got one square of bread and a mini muffin, which was not enough.

The interior design is great, many nice little touches (such as the lighting design, the table and chairs). Staff super friendly. All these should have earned it a five star. However, the very shaky floor, weak WiFi, lots of annoying flies take one star away.
