Our family had a wonderful morning walking food tour with Margit. She is dynamic, knowledgeable, warm and entertaining. We learned so much about Madrid life and itā€™s terrific gastronomic heritage and history. The tour effortlessly encompasses multiple varied stops at shops, restaurants and bars, cheese mongers and fruit stands. We had some dietary restrictions and they were handled with aplomb. Food was uniformly delicious - tasty and novel. All in all , the experience was one of the most memorable during our short week in Madrid. Highly recommended!

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Madrid! Andrea was personable and knowledgeable; she even helped us plan the rest of our day by mapping out where we should stop. All of the food is fantastic but the best part was picking up fresh seafood at the market then having it cooked for us. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Madrid! Also, Andrea asked where else we were visiting in Spain and Margit emailed us recommendations - such a great personal touch and the recommendations were excellent!

We did the Walk and Eat Spain tour with Andrea. She was lovely and we had a small group, so it felt like we got some extra special attention. Each of the places we visited was delicious and offered great information about the our tasty treats. Would definitely recommend.

This was one of the best things we did on our trip!!! All the way from booking to execution, this tour was top notch. The company owners (friendly ex-pats with decades in Madrid) were so accommodating with setting up our tour. The food and drink were plentiful and amazing, and our guide Simon was knowledgeable and fun. It felt like meeting a friend for a night on the town. It made Madrid feel like home for the rest of our trip thanks to Simonā€™s recommendations for the rest of our stay. Highly recommend!

We met Theo right on time and the next three hours were a blast. We learned so much about the Spanish culture through our food experience. All of the places we stopped were authentic and inviting. We highly recommend taking the time to do this early in your trip as you will appreciate everything else that much more.

Highly recommended! Margit is an amazing guide. We went on a Monday and it was perfect as not too many crowds and plenty of time to hear about the history of the places we went. We had lots of delicious food and drinks and learnt about what makes each delicacy so special. Our 4 year old (who kept saying are we done yet) meant Margit had her work cut out for her šŸ¤£ - but churros, potato crisps and lemonade won him over. We all had a delicious tour šŸ˜‹

Even after an unexpected extra travel day, we had the most wonderful experience with Amy and Theo exploring the food gems of the MalasaƱa neighborhood. Amy and Margit were incredibly helpful by re-scheduling our tour to the following day when our flights were delayed and I am so grateful since this was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Not only was every bite of food delicious, Amy and Theo are very knowledgeable and gave us so many fantastic tips about seeing the city and proper etiquette in markets. The introduction to Madrid was invaluable and it was such a pleasure to meet such lovely people. If you want to taste the best tortilla in Madrid and get an inside view of the local food and wine scene, this tour is a must do!

What an absolutely wonderful time! Margit took us on a walking tapas and market tour to try some of the best parts of Spanish cuisine. We were able to meet the people who owned the shops, often for several generations. She was even able to find some food for the one vegetarian member of our group. We had so much fun. We also had them arrange an evening of tapas, flamenco, and dinner where we were able to get an understanding of the art form and the music so we enjoyed it so much more. The dinner was fantastic and we loved having someone pick lots of things for us to try. Thank you Margit and Irena for making our time in Madrid so memorable.

Miss this off your Madrid itinerary at your peril! The tour is amazing, a perfect combo of history, culture & yummy food. If you're lucky enough to spend the time with Margit, it's like having your best mate show you around.

Margit and her team are fabulous. BOOK THIS TOUR. Iā€™ve traveled extensively and always feel the best way to learn a new city is a good food tour with history and understanding of city layout built in. This tour will allow you to explore an authentic Madrid experience with amazing guides. It is an extremely relatable, educational and delicious experience. This tour has a special way of feeling luxurious and familiar all at the same time. There are a lot of options out there and this is the choice!! If you are researching, look no further. A big thank you to Margit and her team for a fantastic night with lots of laughs, amazing food, unique insights and recommendations to ease the rest of our travel planning.

Could not more highly recommend the Walk and Eat food tour in Madrid with Margit!!! We attended the nighttime tapas tour in Malasana and had an incredible time ā€” highlight of the trip! Our guide (Margit) and co-guide (Oliver) made the experience seamless and SO much fun. The history, walking elements, and bars/restaurants were all amazing. These two are truly part of the fabric of the community and provided fantastic recommendations for the rest of our trip as well. Each and every stop on this tour was incredible! Already planning our next trip.

We had a great morning with Margit and Oliver who led us in exploring the ā€œrealā€ Madrid. The foodā€”from churros to Jamin to cuttlefishā€”was delicious, but even better was the knowledgeable and enthusiastic insights shared by our guides. They really know and love Madrid and that made our tour really special. Highly recommend for a special experience.

I did a Walk and Eat Spain tour with Margit. If you are coming to Madrid, BOOK THIS TOUR! It was honestly like being shown around by a friend. Margit is fabulous and the food/wine was incredible! This is definitely the best food tour I have ever done.

We did a private tour with Margit a month ago, and what a wonderful experience it was. Margit had a wealth of knowledge of a neighborhood that I might not have explored on my own. Her vendor selection was superb. We were absolutely stuffed, and she even packed a snack pack for us for the train ride to Seville the following day. As well, she even took me to some of her favorite boutiques for artisan crafts. She even went out of her way to see if we could arrange shipping for items that I wanted to purchase. Many thanks, Margit, for the amazing afternoon you provided us!

This tour was a highlight of our trip to Madrid. We loved Margitā€™s energy and sense of humour. Her amazing Spanish and connections with the locals are so impressive. The tour is not cheap but the food and drinks were all of the highest quality and there are no extra costs on the day. The tour involved only a small group of 4 and so was very well tailored to our own preferences. For example, we are vegetarian and Margit took us to a plant based chorizo shop. They will really try to work around your preferences so donā€™t be afraid to ask. Would like to try the evening tour next time Iā€™m there!

If you do nothing else while visiting Madrid, make sure you take a walk through the local neighborhoods on a tour with Margit and Amy. Amy took us through an absolutely amazing evening of history, local pride and place, and delicious food and beverages! Her knowledge on every little detail seemed endless!! We stopped at places that we never would have discovered on our own, and had the most wonderfully curated time. One of our favorite parts of the night was the local intimacy of every place we stopped at. You can tell Margit and Amy are not just driven to discover and share amazing culinary experiences, but the stories of amazing people. We absolutely recommend a Walk and Eat Spain tour to anyone visiting town, and will be back for more!

This is the second time that I have done a tapas tour with Margit and both times have been a spectacular experience! Not only do you get to walk around a charming neighborhood and taste the best food that Madrid has to offer, but you also learn a lot of history and fun facts about the city. Margit is very passionate about Madrid and it's cuisine and that really shows throughout the tour! I will definitely continue to book this tour whenever I have visitors in Madrid; it's a must!!

We were only in Madrid for a day and decided to do this tour and we are SO glad we did. Margit is a wonderful tour guide and took us to amazing places we would not have been able to find on our own. We went and experienced traditional and traditional with contemporary twists tapas and they were all fantastic. At the same time she gave us a history of the neighborhood and Madrid so we could understand the background of our experience. She is so personable and fun to talk to. We highly recommend this tour when you visit Madrid.

We had the best morning with Margit exploring MalasaƱa. It was such a treat to not only try delicious food but meet the makers and learn the history of such an important neighborhood in Madrid. I live in Madrid and took the tour with a friend who was visiting and we a wonderful time. Walk and Eat Food Tours has clearly built very special relationships with all of the places we visited and the tour was more than an opportunity to try foods, but to have a glimpse into the life of a MadrileƱo. They mean it when they say 'come hungry!' The food was delicious and approachable for all different palates. I'd highly recommend this tour and look forward to our next excursion with Walk and Eat Food Tours.

My husband and I travel a lot and we do food tours nearly everywhere. Meeting Margit was like meeting up with an old friend. Sheā€™s clearly knowledgeable about all things Spain, food, and the adorable and friendly local curators and shop owners. Do this tour if you want the out of the way places, special surprises, and a ā€œfriendā€ to show you all of it! She also provided great tips for our ongoing Spain travels - highly recommend!

During my first trip to Madrid I had the pleasure of taking a tour with Walk and Eat Spain. The attention to detail, care and more importantly the food selection, was beyond what I could have asked for. This is a must if you are visiting Madrid! Will sign up again next time I'm back!

My husband, 9 month old baby, and I had a blast on this food tour! Margit was an awesome guide and our time together flew by quickly. Itā€™s clear she knows a lot about the area and has formed some really great relationships with local vendors. We loved visiting a neighborhood with a local feel and getting away from some of the tourist traps. I highly recommend doing this at the beginning of your time in Madrid to help get a feel for the city and also to get all of Margitā€™s recommendations for everything else to see and eat! For anyone visiting with a baby that might be wondering- we used a stroller and it was easy to get around, but there are some stairs in the market. Our stroller folds down easily so it wasnā€™t an issue, but if yours doesnā€™t Iā€™d recommend a baby carrier!

This tour was SO MUCH FUN -- not to mention so incredibly delicious and informative -- that I'm already journaling poetry about it. Margit has a gift for showing people how to have a good time in this city. Her knowledge of Spanish food and the city of Madrid was rich, and her infectious energy and great sense of humor made the experience all that much more enjoyable. The historical and cultural backstories on the neighborhoods, the local businesses and the people who run them were so special. We had toast and coffee at a beautiful cafe, ate scallop empanada, jamon, olives and lots of tasty tapas. One of her butcher friends in the Mercado de los Mostenses even gifted us some chicken sausage for the tapas chef down the hall to cook for us! And then after the whole tour, Margit sent us recommendations for things to do on our Andalucia road trip. I honestly don't think the morning and afternoon could have been any better! I'm even tempted to do one of the other tours she provides while I'm here for the month

Throughout all of my travels, this food tour was by far the best travel experience of my life! Not only was the food AMAZING and definitely the best food I tried during my trip to Spain, I learned so much about Madrid and stuff that one could never find in a guide book! We got to speak with different restaurant and bar owners who had so much to share about their passion for their food. Margit, the tour guide did a fabulous job at explaining the history of the city, describing the food in such detail, and being so passionate and enthusiastic about food, wine, and Madrid. It was amazing because we got to try a large variety of food - from churros and chocolate to cheese to ham to paella to fideua to soup to nuts and dried fruits - to fish and so much more! We got to experience a very authentic side of Madrid, as we went to non touristy places ran by local people! Definitely come very hungry though - you will be eating a LOT!! Connecting with the local people and food while learning so much history made me fall so in love with Madrid. I hope I can go back soon!!! This is truly the most magical experience - it is a MUST to go on this tour if you travel to Madrid!

This is not your regular tour (in the best way possible)! We had the pleasure to partake in the tapas walking tour with Amy in one of the most historic and lively neighborhoods in Madrid. Amy has a real passion for Spanish culture, history and cuisine and a talent to transmit it to others. She is full of stories that give you an insight into Madridā€™s history and puts everything into context. You really feel like you learned and experienced something authentic after this tour. For example, someone in our group had a question about the jamon hanging in one of the stores we passed by and Amy took the time to explain the meaning that the different color tags represent- super informative! Now for the actual food and drinksā€¦ No words! Best food Iā€™ve tasted in a long time. We went to 4 different spots and mustā€™ve tried at least 16 tapas, all with perfect pairings of Cava, Vermouth or wines. It is really such a great value for your money. Not only are you completely stuffed by the end of it, but you also get access to the most authentic and highly-coveted spots that you would normally not get into. I would recommend Amy and this tour 10/10!

So glad that we did this. Iā€™m addition to having some of the best food of our lives, the expertise and knowledge the tour guide provided about the food/wine, history, arts and culture of Madrid enhanced the experience and is one we will never forget. You will experience the magic of the city in a way you never thought possible and will come away with so much appreciation. This tour is a must for anyone whether itā€™s your first time to Spain or 100th. I guarantee you will learn so much and be very full.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed the Tapas tour with Margit. Margit has great energy and a vibrant personality, she made us feel very comfortable and welcome in Madrid. Her tapas tour is a thoughtfully curated experience. It is very apparent that Margit put her heart into her tour design and brought us to the best of the best. Margit also recommended additional places in Madrid for us to see as well as places to go/eat/see in other cites in Spain that were on our agenda. The tour was awesome, food excellent, and Margit was great company!

If you are ever in Madrid, the Walk and Eat Food Tour is an absolute must! I would recommend doing it earlier in your trip so you can take what you learn on the tour with you through the rest of your trip. Iā€™ll also say that this tour is for anyone, whether itā€™s your first time to Spain or whether you are returning home. Youā€™ll learn something new, eat something delicious, drink incredible wine, and most importantly, be inspired to learn, eat, and drink more. I had the privilege of having Amy act as our tour guide. Amyā€™s passion for Spanish cuisine and culture was immediately apparent, and she enthusiastically incorporated history lessons into every bite of food and sip of wine we had. She did an incredible job of fielding wine-making questions, painting vivid pictures of Madridā€™s history, and even doing an in-depth explanation of jĆ”mon. The tour itself left us with incredibly satisfied stomachsā€”I left full and would recommend you not eat beforehand to build a big appetite. The food stops are carefully curated to tell a story of Spanish cuisine and we probably had 12 different dishes and countless glasses of wine. One of the coolest things about the tour that should be emphasized is that you get into some of the best and most famous restaurants in Spain without the wait. Walk and Eat arranges all of that ahead of time. This is a tour Iā€™ll definitely come back to do. Incredibly worth the price in light of the food, wine, history lessonā€”and experiencing it with someone so passionate!

I was traveling in Spain with my mother and adult brother; it was their first time in the country. We joined the "De Tapas: An Evening Wine & Tapas Experience," and had an amazing time! Margit is a fantastic guide, who makes every moment educational AND incredibly fun, with her outgoing personality and casual demeanor. On this tour, we got to see Malasana, a neighborhood that we wouldn't have otherwise explored. The restaurants and stores we visited were fantastic and clearly neighborhood gems, and of course the food and wine was top notch! I will absolutely recommend this tour to anyone headed to Madrid. Thank you, Margit, for showing us a piece of your world! We loved it!
