Not sure why this hostel is rated the top of all the ones along the Camino Norte route. There is nothing wrong with it but it was not among our favourites. Nice location, views and dog. Medium sleep due to the rooster noises but that is fine and expected. We received slow/poor communication from the hosts; they didn't answer calls or WhatsApp messages from one of those in our group so instead I contacted them. Then they didn't respond regarding the latest check in time, meaning we weren't sure about dinner so didn't chance it. Contrary to what they say, it is not the only establishment that asks about dietary requirements; the albergue in Güemes also does that on arrival. They could improve by having pockets to hang over the bunk beds for people to put their phones and other bits in during the night. All that being said, it is a decent hostel so we would stay again.

This Albergue is absolutely fabulous! The host, the food and the conditions area. Let me day that this host has excellent cooking skills and the dinner was full of Goodies. Really would have liked to stay another day.

Wonderful place run by very friendly people who know how to cook and make everybody feel good. Very nice to eat outside in the garden. The plantbased option was great!

Amazing stay for pilgrims ! We were so lucky to be advised by Touristic Office to go to this hostel, since there was none in Gernika. What a great welcome we had ! What an attentive host. We totally enjoyed our stay in the tent, which was provided (since the hostel was fully booked for beds inside). Lovely area, all necessary at your disposal, delicious breakfast and , what is more important, an AMAZING host.

Great host, good food (we only had breakfast 5€ but we heard also dinner was fantastic for 10€),very clean. The overall atmosphere was perfect :) thanks for everything!

Having the main hostel in Gernika closed turned out to be a blessing in disguise. How lucky was I to find Caserio Pozueta at the end of a steep climb through a stand of Australian Eucalyptus trees. This place is worth the climb. A friendly and welcoming host, excellent and spotless facilities and a very impressive and complete dinner and breakfast. Thanks!

This is a must visit. The owner is the nicest person i have met in the whole basque country, the place is clean and has everything you need. Also don't miss out on the meals, they are really worth it!

One of the best albergue, spacious and clean, with a large, beautiful garden. Dinner and breakfast were tasty, more than we could eat.

Best breakfast and dinner and friendly hosts. You can feel the love and attention in what is offered. Great place for peregrinos to stop and recuperate their strength.

Good place to stay. We haven't booked so we got a tent for the night. Nice and clean. There's washing machine available for 5 euros and you can cook. Also the hospitalero makes dinner.

Kind of a cute and quirky little albergue along the Camino. Dinner was delicious - salad, pork with green beans & fresh melon. Yummy!!!
