This dental clinic has steadily gotten worse over the years. The individuals at the frontdesk, in charge of the office running smoothly are rude and offer poor customer service. Some of the doctors are not focused on providing good dental care due to incompetence. In the last 3 years this clinic has placed an emphasis of making money by providing substandard dental care. I had to find another dental clinic to have my teeth properly cleaned even though I communicated that my teeth were not being cleaned thoroughly. The new dentist found my teeth to have severe buildup below my gum line. The clinic drilled into teeth claiming I had cavities. This clinic and several others in Pierce county are owned by group of investors who seem to have little interest in patient care. Please be careful of this clinic providing long term dental care. Update 29 July 2021 The office manager at Proctor Family Dentistry sent me a letter addressing her disappointment in my review. That my dental hygiene was thorough, “….there is little to nothing to scale.” I don’t see the point in the letter when I contacted the office multiple times to communicate with the office about my dental needs and the dental care I was not receiving. The indicators were there. I had to seek treatment from Dr. Yasaman Sanai, a periodontist. My upper quadrants had extensive plaque buildup. This is after me going to Proctor Family Dentistry since December of 2012 and me complaining for almost 2 years that something about my mouth wasn’t healthy. I am looking into suing this dental clinic and highly encourage having you and your family dental needs being treated elsewhere. This place is deplorable and negligent.

I first want to thank the reception staff!!! They are amazing!!! I've been in the Seattle area for the last month for work. Last week I woke up in extreme pain and was unable to make any emergency appointments at other offices. I called Proctor Family Dentistry and they got me in within an hour after calling. When I arrived I was greeted and the wait was maybe 5 mins due to having to fill out paper work. The staff in the back that took care of me are also Awesome and extremely caring. After the Dr. took a look he informed me that I needed a root canal and that it had to be done by a specialist. At first I was worried because I was in pain and still had a week before going back home. The Dr. Then explained that he would do his best to find someone in the area that could help and would be able to use my insurance. When I got back to the receptionist she informed me that they were not able to find anyone at the moment, but would give me a call if she found someone or if their specialist could squeeze me in before I went home. I was appreciative, but really didn't think they would call me before I left due to the short time frame before going home. The next day I got a call saying they had an appointment for me first thing in the morning. When I arrived once again I was greeted by their awesome staff and took me straight to the chair. The Dr. And the assistant made sure I was comfortable and explained everything to me before proceeding. I was so comfortable and numbed properly that I didn't even feel anything during the root canal, which was surprising because I have had bad experiences in the past!! I would without a doubt recommend this practice. They are amazing people who care and go out of their way to help!! The other reviews that have this place 1 or 2 stars with a long list of complaints are just a bunch of Karen's who just like to hear themselves talk!! THANKS PROCTOR FAMILY DENTISTRY you made my day today and changed my perspective on going to the dentist. I might just keep you guys as my primary and fly in to get future work done!!!!

Let me tell you a little something about this dental office, which is conveniently located in the North End of Tacoma. The doctors are top-notch. Not only do they know what they're diagnosing, they'll help you understand it more if you don't. And let's face it, not all of us know a lick of dental terminology aside from fillings and cavities. The hygienists are also very thorough - I have had my teeth cleaned by almost all of them. Very efficient in their work. The assistants are the best and they truly care for patient experience. That's one thing this office is good for, they care about patient experience. So if you haven't had a grand experience, let them know. I'm sure they'll do whatever they can to rectify it. And do not get me started on the front desk - the woman are awesome to chat with and will help you understand all of your insurance questions. The environment is awesome, somebody is always laughing and having a good time. I'm sure there is some truth to the reviews you see everywhere, but just keep in mind, most bad reviews are written because somebody is angry and didn't speak up.

Had a toothache a year ago and they got me on short notice which was nice but the service seemed slightly sub par. The staff didn't really seem to care about the customer as much as they just wanted to keep moving through them. However this was my 1st time there so I counted it as a fluke as my tooth pain did subside. Unfortunately, I had placed an appointment for today at 9am and had showed up to only find out that they had given my spot away and are unwilling to give me the appointment that was scheduled for the better part of a year. They had stated that they had tried to contact me but I had never gotten a call, text, or anything. What was the reason I scheduled this appointment. Why did I make sure I had a day off of work for this. This dentist office does not care about its people. I highly recommend going somewhere else.

This dentist office has always been wonderful to us. My son is now 10 and this was the first dentist he ever came too till he was about 3. He had his first cavity at 2 and they filled it with no issues, my son didnt even cry. He loved the dentist but then we had to change because of insurance. I took him to a childhood dentist and it was horrible. He was so terrified to go after that because they weren't accommodating to him. I was so thankful when we were able to come back here. My son had a cavity and they didn't even need to numb him, that's how wonderful they are. My daughter is 5 and she loves the dentist too. I would recommend them to anyone. Avoid children's dentists because in my experience they care more about their experience then the child. Proctor makes sure the kids are comfortable. We love them.

My car was broken into. I called to cancel my upcoming appointments. They charged me a cancellation fee even though I called several days before. They did a temporary bridge. That was TERRIBLE looking. The several appointments I had. The man doctor was nice and efficient. But the lady. Was skeptical (how are you skeptical when a patient tells you they got work done somewhere else) apparently if I have work done somewhere else. I’m required to report to them. Like it’s their business where I get dental work done. This clinic. Does terrible work. And has no morals. None. When you call to rectify the situation. No one calls you back. Find a different clinic. This one is terrible.

The staff at Proctor Family Dental are amazing. In my experience, they have always been friendly and professional. I always feel like I am well taken care of and receiving first class service. Jenn, the manager, was exceptionally helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend Proctor Family Dental for your dental needs.
