This place is winner. Had brunch and it was spectacular. First time visited and wished this place was in my city. On the counterstrike recommendation I have a dish with their French toast. Toast was A++! I can overlook the wait time for a seat because the meal and vibe was awesome. No free street parking but reasonable.

This place is pretty awesome. I’ve been a bunch of times and can not recommend enough the FRENCH TOAST & BREAKFAST CASSEROLE!! It’s a 10/10 for me, especially when I remember to ask for jalapeños mixed in. The location is great, the aesthetic and feel is a 9/10 and that last point is simply a function of the waiting area which is immediately in front of you when you open the door. If there’s more than 4 people waiting, it’s crowded. The food is consistent and delicious. I can’t think of anything that I didn’t enjoy here with one exception. Any breakfast spot worth their (kosher) salt 🧂 has to have great PANCAKES 🥞… here’s the problem. They have good pancakes but they don’t always show up to the party. They rotate them daily and if you come in craving some tasty cakes and find out that they are serving some oatmeal pancakes (was the case this week), you try and may be disappointed. Me and my son tried these and ate one of four pancakes. Partly, they were undercooked in the middle but mostly the texture was nothing I’d ever want in a pancake. I won’t harp on this as it’s the one issue I have. Bottom line, this is a staple worth keeping in the rotation.

Not the greatest experience. Food was pretty greasy overall, I think you can kinda see it in pics. Didn’t taste bad though. 2 stars because service wasn’t great. They are pretty busy so get there early for a table. The atmosphere and location are great! Their lemon coffee cake was great. Not pictured.

One of the best bloody mary mixes I've had in a while. Hot Monkey Bloody was delicious. We all loved the corned beef and French toast. Great food and service overall, definitely expect to wait for a table though!

A busier version of a quaint diner. There was a line and a sign in sheet, we had to estimate how long it would be since there was noy anyone at the host stand. When it was close to out time, a server came out to make sure we were present and to check our cards/IDs to enter. Our server checked on us frequently and kept our waters filled. I liked the food a lot, it was hearty without being too heavy. Prices average about $14 per meal for breakfast. The chicken sausage was AMAZING!

Geraldine's has one of my favorite chicken fried steaks in the area. It may not be the biggest, but it is always the perfect cut and never chewy. They tend to smother it with gravy so I'd recommend using this as an excuse to order a biscuit on the side. The biscuits here are very good. Geraldine's usually has a wait, especially on the weekends.

So on a nice rainy morning we went over to Seattle to try out Geraldine's. The service began great and the food arrived quickly. Then it went down hill after that. My partner ordered a coffee, and he got the cup. Yet, no refill after that. We both tried to get someone attention for more coffee, but they were two busy with a partly of 4, who did not understand how to pay for their breakfast. So we spent our meal eating it dry. So that is the reason I gave just 3 starts. The thick crust bread was wonderful, I choose sourdough. My partner ordered the chicken friend steak and eggs. He liked his food. I ordered a breakfast casserole, it was hot and great with the thick cut sourdough toast. Will I return, no, because my partner spent most of the meal annoyed.

It's rare that I give a small diner 5 stars, and that's mainly because the food is okay or the service is not great. The opposite is true at Geraldine's. We came on a Friday morning and had about a 15-minute wait. Once we were seated Robert greeted us and answered our questions. When he came back we were ready to go. We ordered a Jameson Irish Coffee and a Baliey's coffee. Both of them had a kick to get your day started off right. The 4 of us ordered all different menu items and collectively agreed that they were all good. I had the Geraldine's Casserole. While I wish the portion size was a little more generous, I was delighted by the quality of the meal. The biscuit with some of their homemade jam was the touch that you didn't know you needed. By far the best food service we received during our Seattle trip and will recommend it to others.

Excellent breakfast! The pepper jack and avocado omelette was super delicious. Food arrived piping hot. Fast service, friendly staff. Clean bathrooms. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Good value for the money.

Nice and busy place. I really liked there food. Tried the chicken fried steak with a side of sausage and it was good. My wife took the spinach feta omelette which was tasty and good. Their portion sizes are good and the staff is super friendly. We had to wait for about 30 mins and the food was worth the wait. Will definitely come here again to try other items. My friend took a corn beef sandwich which was okay.

It's our very first time in Seattle and our very first stop was recommended by a native friend. We were immediately greeted and seated upon arriving even though the place was kinda busy. Our server was kind and she took her time give us a complete run down on the daily specials and answered all of our questions about the menu. Lots of classic breakfast items on the menu with their own twist to them and you can tell the food is made to order and in-house. Shortly after placing our order the food arrived hot. The corned beef hash was served with thick chunks of corned beef, seasoned potatoes, peppers, onions, celery, and the very unique addition, butternut squash. I wouldn't have thought the squash would have went well with this classic but I was pleasantly surprised. The biscuit was definitely made in-house and everything a biscuit should be, large and flaky. The chicken fried steak was seasoned perfectly and topped with a sausage gravy and served with a thick side of hash browns and eggs. Our friend tried to order something new from the menu, but returned to her all time favorite, Geraldine's casserole. While I didn't try it, it looked and smelled cheesy and delicious. I would definitely make my way back to Geraldine's for breakfast, brunch or lunch when I'm in the area.

The restaurant was poppin' when we arrived, but we were fortunate to be seated at the bar immediately. Other guests were all engaged in lively conversations and all seemed to be having a great time. Our waiter was prompt and attentive throughout our meal without making us feel rushed. I ordered the corned beef and hash and was very pleased with the amount of vegetables that were added. The flavor was good but I think it wasn't as salty as corned beef usually is, which might be better for my health but left me a little unsatisfied. My companion ordered the chicken-fried-steak and eggs. The main event was spectacular, but the house sausage went past generous with the sausage in the gravy. We both made a mistake in ordering the Irish coffee without cream. Their recipe doesn't include Bailey's or Kahlua and thus without the whipped-cream was just whiskey in coffee which wasn't so good. I'm interested in returning to Geraldine's to try their other dishes.

Great spot for brunch. I got the avocado & pepperjack omelette with sourdough bread and hash browns. The omelette was good a creamy. Filled with lots of avocado. We also got the corn beef hash which was very tender and lastly got the slammin' with the specialty French toast. The waiter told us that the French toast was made with their sourdough. It was topped with peaches and served with maple syrup. I would highly recommend trying it as it is very different then normal French toast in that it is crispier and lighter.

This place has the most legit chicken fried steak and eggs with gravy in Seattle. Seriously, this is how comfort food should be done. Others, take note. This place also doesn’t break the bank compared to other breakfast options around town but be prepared to wait for seating as it can get busy.

i’ve been here three or four times & always come back for the corned beef hash, chicken fried steak, & the french toast special. we came right at opening on a saturday morning & the place was instantly packed & there was a constant wait outside the whole time we were eating. there are quite a few tables, but it fills up FAST. wait staff is attentive, and welcoming. food comes out fast, which i love. parking isn’t great. we were lucky this time to come early & got paid street parking right in front, but usually have to circle the block once or twice to find parking on the side of the building.

First time will definitely NOT be the last time at Geraldine's! Oh my goodness! Daily pancake flavors, French toast that is delicious just as is and fabulous with the special fruit toppings offered. The pesto scramble was so yummy. The corned beef hash had lovely, big chunks of meat. The poached were perfection. The Emerald City Scramble was incredible. And more importantly than all of the food goodness was the amazing, friendly, funny, helpful staff. We will definitely be back for more ❤️

Expect a wait but the food is worth it. Skip the chili, tastes like a doctored up can version. However, the texture was great on the French Toast and the bacon is nice and thick. Service was good as well, clean bathrooms and general areas.

There are many great breakfast places here in Seattle, for many different reasons, but Geraldine’s Counter is the absolute best one. There is simply no other place that serves up the combination of excellent food, service, and charm. The eggs are always perfect no matter how you order them. The French toast is made from local artisan bread, soaked and pan-fried for the perfect softness and crisp. The chicken sausage. The herbed omelette. The biscuits. Everything. I once delivered a fresh biscuit to a friend recovering in the hospital. They triple wrapped it for me with all the fixings and when I got there, it was still warm. The weekends can be busy due to it’s local popularity so plan ahead. Otherwise, come during the week and you can walk right in. I can’t say enough about this place. Geraldine’s is in a class by itself.

Visited from the UK back in September and was recommended to visit here by our hosts. We’d been told it was perhaps best to visit earlier in the week as the place gets busier later in the week. And this was true as when we walked by other mornings there was people waiting. A popular place! We came on a Tuesday morning and were seated quickly. Our server was great and ran through everything for us. I had the famous French toast and it was lovely. As was the side of hash browns and sausage patty. My friend enjoyed her breakfast Bloody Maria too, what a great way to start the day! Would certainly eat here again, just wish I lived closer.

Recommended while visiting Seattle. Went for breakfast. Arrive around 11:30ish. About a 40 min wait but we shopped at a few of the little shops in the area while waiting. Had the peach French toast. Best French toast ever. Waiter was great. Overall very satisfied .

Late to post the review but this place has my heart. Amazing customer service that makes sure you have everything. Clean, very specious. Fair parking spot. Wait time to get a table usually differs. Make sure to reserve before going. I went February 14 to take my mom on her birthday brunch, it was very nice not that much crowded. The food was amazing. We had such a great time. If it is your first time in Seattle the area is very pretty to walk around.

Geraldine’s is a famous brunch spot in Seattle that our friends took us to. The wait time was quite long but we wrote our names down and explored around for a little bit. We were a group of 6 so we really went all out and ordered a variety of dishes. Their French toast was the winner, it’s really out of this world. Their savory breakfast dishes, Bloody Mary and steamed broccoli (trust me on this) was our favorite! Def recommend and worth the wait ;)

  • 4/5 Ryan Y. 9 months ago on Google
Food is good, but be careful when you order the French toast for takeout, you get 3 thick slices but only one tablespoon of syrup!! I tried asking for extra syrup but they didn’t give me any! It’s literally one tablespoon of syrup, it just simply is not enough :((( I also paid $6.00 for a side of bacon but they just didn’t give me it! I only noticed after I walked back to my house and ate the French toast

The French toast was very good! My husband counter special was average. The bacon for his and my side order were way over cooked, very crunchy.

  • 4/5 Aelfric M. 3 years ago on Google
The price is competitive for this part of town. On my plate, the french toast was exceptionally good, and the sliced mangoes were a thoughtful compliment. There was a crowd, and there is limited indoor seating. Recommend for a quick solo, or family breakfast, but not for a date if you want privacy.
